Not bad. Still edible. Later, when he asked about the manicotti & I said it was amazing, he asked if it was better than the soup. I said it was much much better and that I knew next time I visited I'd get the Caesar salad instead of the soup. He said he'd bring one to go, since their Caesar dressing is amazing. I said that wasn't necessary, but he brought one anyway. Wow. Portions are very large (without the extra salad, my manicotti would still be three meals for me) & the food is delicious. I like the look of the restaurant and was surprised to see that they had TV's & a bar. Much nicer than I expected given the location.

The pretzel was huge and a big highlight. Also like the nachos. And you get a ton. The sandwiches and pizza were just ok. Not the biggest fan of the style of fries stuffed in them. But plenty of other options.

It may surprise some to know how many times I've hung out in Pittsburgh in the last 16 years or so,…read morebecause I've never been to a Primanti Bros. before. But then again, I am vegetarian, so I didn't think they offered anything for me. I've looked at the menu online more than once, and didn't see any sandwiches designated vegetarian each time. But I was meeting a friend before a concert on the RMU campus, and this was conveniently located 1 mile away, and it had food and beer. I kept an open mind and figured, I'll just modify one of their sandwiches. When I arrived, I learned they also have a pizza option. But I still thought... when in Rome... There was a black bean option listed on their wall menu, but the waitress double-checked for me and we learned together that they use to offer that option, but no longer do. Damn. There was however a cheese (no meat) option on the menu, which I was surprised wasn't on the online menu. But I'll take it! Their sandwiches are interesting in that instead of sides of french fries and cole slaw, the sides are just stacked into the sandwich to make it a quick easy convenient meal! The draft beer selection was good, the sandwich was decent enough, and the service was great (weekday evening). In the end, I am not sure I'd run back for my one sandwich menu option, maybe I'd try their pizza, or go for some sides, or just stop in for a beer on my way to my next show. I enjoyed the vibe and most everthing about the place, but the sandwich was just okay.

Sadly not much has changed consistently having issues with food quantities and being out of items. We ordered through the app for pickup through the drive thru. The large nacho bags are 1/4 of the way full, the bowl we ordered, not so generous as well - we ordered double protein and I would have expected more. I ordered a 32oz mandarin agua Fresca which we considered not even ordering bc we remember them always being out a year ago. The food was promptly available through the window. The staff asked which drink I wanted. When I requested mandarin Fresca I was told I ordered a fountain drink (label does print as 32oz) but the app reflects being able to order 32oz Fresca and shared that's what I ordered. Also to note the cost is the same for a fountain drink vs Fresca. I was then told they were out of lemonade. I inquired specifically on the mandarin, watermelon, berry, and was told they were out. The staff then went out of sight and filled the 32oz cup 4/5 full bc she said that's all that was left. Overall would recommend if an item is not available it should be reflected on the app to prevent delay at the window. Wish the best for everyone working here, but it just wasn't the best and I doubt we'll revisit for another year, sadly.

Best hot dogs in Pittsburgh!…read more Definitely biased here as I grew up on these hot dogs. While the price has increased quite a bit over the last few years, they are still a pretty good deal. The buns are steamed, so they are soft but seldom moist. The hot dogs are kept on the grill and have a nice crunch to them. Nothing beats chili and cheese as your toppings. The service is fine. You order at the counter, provide them with your name, and they call it out once your order is ready. Mostly friendly service and the facilities are kept relatively clean in the dining area and restrooms. You can easily get two hot dogs, a small fry, and a drink for just around $10. Not bad at all.
