It may surprise some to know how many times I've hung out in Pittsburgh in the last 16 years or so,…read morebecause I've never been to a Primanti Bros. before. But then again, I am vegetarian, so I didn't think they offered anything for me. I've looked at the menu online more than once, and didn't see any sandwiches designated vegetarian each time. But I was meeting a friend before a concert on the RMU campus, and this was conveniently located 1 mile away, and it had food and beer. I kept an open mind and figured, I'll just modify one of their sandwiches. When I arrived, I learned they also have a pizza option. But I still thought... when in Rome... There was a black bean option listed on their wall menu, but the waitress double-checked for me and we learned together that they use to offer that option, but no longer do. Damn. There was however a cheese (no meat) option on the menu, which I was surprised wasn't on the online menu. But I'll take it! Their sandwiches are interesting in that instead of sides of french fries and cole slaw, the sides are just stacked into the sandwich to make it a quick easy convenient meal! The draft beer selection was good, the sandwich was decent enough, and the service was great (weekday evening). In the end, I am not sure I'd run back for my one sandwich menu option, maybe I'd try their pizza, or go for some sides, or just stop in for a beer on my way to my next show. I enjoyed the vibe and most everthing about the place, but the sandwich was just okay.

I just was not thrilled. You definitely have to expect a weird experience if you want to enjoy the food here. I also ordered a slice of cheese pizza just in case I didn't like the sandwich. Unfortunately I didn't like the pizza even more. Lol. Live and learn. I still get three stars because there were totally nothing wrong with the Pitts-burger except I didn't like it. The pizza was not good though. The customer service was pretty decent though. So pops for that.

Later, when he asked about the manicotti & I said it was amazing, he asked if it was better than the soup. I said it was much much better and that I knew next time I visited I'd get the Caesar salad instead of the soup. He said he'd bring one to go, since their Caesar dressing is amazing. I said that wasn't necessary, but he brought one anyway. Wow. Portions are very large (without the extra salad, my manicotti would still be three meals for me) & the food is delicious. I like the look of the restaurant and was surprised to see that they had TV's & a bar. Much nicer than I expected given the location.

A couple of us were really excited to try the chicken parm, but we were quickly disappointed by the lack of flavor (very, very bland) and how thick the pieces of chicken were. Our server was very attentive when we first arrived, but as our meal went on, she was no where to be found for drink refills, to check in, etc. In fact, we had to wait a good 20 minutes after we were finished eating for her to appear so we could ask for the check. Choosing to eat here ended up being a regret and waste of money. We spent over $100 for a meal that I honestly could have done a better job cooking at home...and I'm not even that great of a cook! Needless to say, we won't be back and don't recommend wasting your time and money here.

My husband and I visited this particular DiBella's Subs in Robinson Township one time. Menu items include submarine sandwiches (e.g., salami, ham, turkey, corned beef, tuna, roast beef, capicola, chicken, cheesesteak, meatball, and veggie), salads (e.g., pasta, macaroni, and potato), and cookies (e.g., chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin). For lunch my husband ordered a 10-inch grilled chicken Philly sandwich. After he paid and had his receipt, an employee asked him if he had ordered a different sub, and he corrected her, and then she dishonestly told another employee that he had "changed" his mind. After many minutes, an employee handed him the correct sandwich. Including tax and tip, it cost about $16. The restaurant contained many tables and chairs, but we got the sandwich as takeout. My husband said that he liked the taste of his grilled chicken Philly sandwich.

I'll…read morepreface by saying it's my first PB experience, so before you come at me with, "nothing's like the original location," chill bro. Although it was crowded, I was able to sit at the bar immediately. I asked for a hazy IPA & the bartender (Emily V.) for a recommendation on a sandwich. Even though she was slammed at the bar, she was quick with a decent beer & told me that "everything in yellow on their menu is what we're known for, but I personally enjoy the Capricola, Pastrami, and one more (that I can't remember)." So, I went with the pastrami & within 10 minutes... Boy, let me tell you... The pastrami was FIRE. French fries in a sandwich is something I've done as a kid for years. But this? This is different. It was intentional, complimentary, genius. Food was excellent, very much worth an $11 sandwich. Over the past six days that I've been in PA, this was my best meal. Beyond that, the atmosphere was great as well. Tasteful music, not too loud & good tunes. Spacious enough to safely tuck away my carry-on at the bar. For an airport location, I was blown away with the food, service, and speed. If you end up at PIT airport, coming here for food may be the best choice you could make.

I was taken care of by Corey and he was great. Kept my drink full, had good answers to my questions, but wasn't overly attentive. I liked that it was in the airport, because it could watch the coming and goings instead of just staring at TVs. I had the tall boy when pigs fly sandwich, OMG so good. I had to eat it with a fork because after the first bite, it spilled out all over the place. Delicious! The only concern I had was with the hostess, when threw the menu at me and others, but since I only interacted with her for 10 seconds, it wasn't enough to detract from Corey and the food. But I do hope something gets done about her. It wasn't a good first impression.
