I started with a half liter of their Doppelbock. A tastful bock beer, I really liked it…read more The schnitzels at Hofbrauhaus are very good and big. I tried the Jägerschnitzel and was very happy with it. A huge schnitzel with plenty of Jägersauce (bacon, peppers and paprika tomato sauce). The sauce had a little kick to it. Excellent. It comes with a nice serving of crunchy French fries. My wife had the schnitzel Wiener Art and had some of my sauce to spice it up. It was very busy, just before a hockey game just down the street. Our waitress was very attentive even though she was very busy. The place is loud, esp with a musician playing accordion. Great atmosphere but impossible to have a conversation.

Drinks were brought over in near record time and while our food was being prepared we wandered around a bit. I enjoyed the stein lockup area and grand hall feel. Our food came and the misses Germany burger was cooked to her liking and the little one loved her pretzel bites. The little yelper wasn't into their cheese burger and took a few bites, mainly focused on the bites and my chicken wing meat. Which for asking for saucy wings, these were like dry.... And I mean if there was a drop of sauce on the plate that was a lot. While I enjoyed the bleu cheese the wings were a notch below average at best. After the food was served, we didn't see our waitress at all....i mean for a solid 20+ mins. Looked around and she was quite difficult to track down , it got to the point when it was time to pay the bill I spotted her near a register and went to her. No way she was escaping us again... she explained that they were under staffed and her table Load more than doubled. While I appreciate the history of HB, I'd be ok skipping a return trip.

I'd first had these at taste of buffalo last year and was wow'd by them, so wanted to enjoy them again. I ordered the version with balsamic and goat cheese, and was not disappointed. A good sized serving made for a hearty appetizer! We were able to sit at an outside table so the noise level inside was not an issue; it was easy for the 4 of us to carry on conversation.

This time around I decided to go with the Limonado and the Yuzu Rice Lager, and both were excellent. The Limonado was especially memorable. It's packed with flavour, refreshing, and easily my favourite of the two. The food was great too. I ordered the Chicken Mac & Cheese, and not only was it delicious, but the portion size was huge for the price. Plenty of flavour, plenty of food, and exactly what I was looking for before a busy day. Service was another highlight. Justin was tending bar and was awesome to chat with. Friendly, welcoming, and helped make the visit even more enjoyable. Between the great beer, tasty food, generous portions, and excellent service, this place left a great impression on me. I'm definitely planning on bringing my wife here very soon so she can experience it too. For more food, brewery, and travel reviews, check out our YouTube channel A&M Roam!
