Sonic is decent fast food. They have a big menu and lots of shakes and slushies to chose from. I like the smash burgers and tater tots with cheesez but this time i just got the burger and a chicken wrap. The wrap was just ok, but the burger was good as always. The staff are usually friendly and kind. Ordering online before you arrive definitely helps get your food quickly for the most part read more

This was my first time at a Sonic and I was pleasantly surprised. We didn't want to cook with it being so hot so we opted to go to a quick spot to grab some food since most places were closed for Labor Day. The service was pretty fast. I like how they have people on roller skates delivering food still. It's very cool and retro. I opted for the double cheeseburger and fries with a Polynesian Punch frozen drink. Then we got a side of their jalapeño poppers as well. Jalapeño poppers are always really good or not so good when you get them at a fast food place so I wanted to test my theory here. The food didn't make the pictures this time. We were too hungry to remember the phone eats first these days. The food was actually really good. I expected a small burger but it was huge and was delicious. The fries were decent. The poppers were SO good. I was shocked at how good they were. I'm trying to cut down on fast food but this is an option if I ever need something quick. read more

I am incredibly surprised. In Florida, sonics are nasty. Typical fast food with no flavor and lotsa grease, dirty and unorganized. So for this, I've avoided sonic and haven't eaten it in 10 years. Stuck at work with no lunch and no desire to drive far, I sucked it up and tried sonic. 3xs now I've had it at this location, and maybe I'm lucky hitting it on good days but it's been delicious every time. Their stack burger and garlic butter bacon burger have allot of flavor. The service is always fast and friendly and food comes out piping hot read more

Went to this Sonic 3601 Union Road Cheektowaga, NY 14225 They are so messes up that they gave me wrong items and wrong drinks from a counter order. This did not happen wrong once but twice on the same order. When I got back to the hotel and open the bag and the $70 was all wrong and missing items. What they gave me was the deal menu items worth $10. Called to get refund and was denied and wanted to give me sonic credit. With this experience I said no and where I live in NYC there is no sonic and was still denied for refund so i Will be disputing this with Credit card. read more

Wait was a bit long, but not too bad. Food was good. What you'd expect from a fast food place.

Restaurant is clean but they don't have chocolate ice cream and their burgers are gross.

My son had a scrimmage out this way, and being that we don't live in the area we wanted to try it. I ordered from the website upon leaving which was very easy and convenient. We ordered 2 double bacon cheeseburger combos, a bacon cheeseburger and tried the new fries. My taters were crisp and hollow. They tasted too much like oil, and the potato was fried right out of it. My roll on my cheeseburger was moist, and the moisture was visible upon opening it up. It just made my burger soggy. I ordered the brownie chunk frozen dessert. The pictures are so misleading on the website that I thought there might be too many brownie pieces. However, I ate a quarter way through and tasted only 2 brownie chunks, the rest were chocolate pieces. It was just not favorable at all. I was so excited for this new fast food experience, unfortunately disappointed and not sure about giving it another try. If I do I hear the milkshakes are very popular so it could possibly be a dessert stop. There's plenty of parking. We parked in the stall, it gives you a phone number to call. The girl who answered mumbled so much that I wasn't sure I dialed the right number so I had to ask. The boy who brought our food out was polite and pleasant. We didn't go inside so I can't review on the cleanliness or vibe. The parking lot was clean and kept up. read more

Went in today around 5:20. Went inside. Was a few waiting for orders but no one ordering. So ordered 3 Burgers, 3 shakes, 2pops and one coffee. Didnt get my food til around 5:55/6pm. Everyone else was getting their meals quick. When I finally asked, she comes out with melted shakes and grab and left because we had places to be. Order was all wrong. Apparently we only needed 2 of our 3 sandwiches. Also got a Mini strawberry shake when I ordered a small Oreo peanut butter. Waste of money. read more

#10 Chicken "crispy" sandwich (not the slider). This is the perfect sandwich designed by executives sharing a Google spreadsheet trying to figure out how to deliver the lowest cost product while pretending to offer a "premium product." If they trimmed just a thin slice of chicken from each sandwich, after 100 sandwiches they saved a pound of chicken. There's about 1/3 the amount of chicken in this sandwich than at McDonald's. The meat has a thick hard coating having minimal flavor. A scant amount of wilted lettuce with a gob of mayo on a roll that's pretty small and there you have it! Served with tater tots that must be on some sort of rationing system to make sure you don't get too many. The ordering at the drive-in stall was fun, quick and easy. The car-hop was efficient and we gave a tip. My friends didn't say much about their burgers, so I presume they were OK. read more

Standard large franchise faire.. Pros: Skate up food delivery Lots of frozen sweets and shakes Discounts via app Cons: Pricey for fast food I personally would only get food if I had coupons going for me, otherwise I'd stick more with the desserts. Will definitely have to try some of their milkshakes when it's half off after reading some of the other reviews. read more

**COVID-19 REVIEW** We were looking forward to having their food this weekday and decided to order our food on their App to which we arrived right on time to pick up our order at 2 pm. Unfortunately, we saw that there were no stalls for us to park in. On SONIC's website's FAQ section, there are NO directions on what to do if no stalls are available, so we were forced to park and go inside, which we did NOT feel comfortable doing. They need to address this!!!! After waiting inside the restaurant for over 10 minutes, we received our order. When we WALKED back to the car, we found that our order was incorrect. We wanted to try the NEW Mesquite bacon burger and when we opened it, there was NO bacon! Also, the fries were cold and old. The only reason they are getting two stars and not one is because the lame burger, that was not our order, did taste good. But I must mention, since we ordered on the App, I TIPPED them thinking I would have a car stall and it was wasted money. If you have read any of my previous reviews, I always have pictures of my food. However, I was so shocked at the poor delivery and quality that I completely forgot to take any pictures. To me, that says ALOT! IF we decide to try them again, we will just do drive-thru and see if that serves us better....it will be AWHILE. This just supports our thinking to support local restaurants and businesses!!! read more

This was my first time here. I love the whole "Drive & Sit" theme with the Roller Skating employees, like in my mom's day. Very cool ! My son & I decided to eat inside. They had a lot of delicious looking Hot Dogs,Burgers,etc.... We each got a cheeseburger & a medium drink. He got a foot long chili cheese dog that looked amazing & French fries. I got the Cheesy, bacon dog in a pretzel bun. They messed up my order & put onions on it, although I ordered no onions. I went back up & they fixed it right away. I also ordered the tater tots. (Those were really good & crunchy) My dog was nothing to brag about & I'll never get it again, but I did like the pretzel bun a lot. The prices were not too bad. It did take quite awhile for our food & drinks to come, which I thought was odd, just being burgers & hot dogs. It would've been nice to get our drinks first instead of waiting for everything at the same time. It was an "Ok" experience. I would try it again, but get a different hot dog & maybe eat it in the car next time. read more

I'm torn between wanting to leave a good review because they did a great job handling the absolutely insane lunch crowd we encountered today, and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the staff on skates - but I also don't want to encourage more business because they have so much. If Rochester can support two Sonics, surely Buffalo can. Or maybe one closer to home in Lockport. I love their slushes. The food is solid if pricy. read more

This place has come a LONG way since they opened. Service, drinks, food, and everything has improved a ton since they first came in. I've had a lot of really good experiences since my initial visit and for my money, they've got one of the best strawberry milkshakes I've ever had. Also, half price drinks after 8pm? Come on how do you beat that! I enjoy sonic now and it's a place I come for yummy drinks whenever I'm in the mood. Their boneless wings are pretty good but the rest of the food is meh at best still. But that's okay! You're not here for the food it's the drinks... those delicious yummy drinks! read more

Sonic is a car hop service fast food restaurant chain. You pull into a stall, review the menu from your car, press the button, place your order, and a car hop delivers the food right to your vehicle (oftentimes on roller skates). This location also has a counter service dine-in dining room. This Sonic has some hits, some misses. Here's how I came to my rating: ** 3 Stars for Food Quality) Sonic is predominantly a fast-food burger joint, with hot dogs and some chicken too. The food is decent. Nothing to write home about, nothing bad. The classic cheeseburger is tasty enough. You can customize your toppings. I do like that there is both a fries or tater tot option for sides. For dessert, the ice cream is okay. Pretty standard fast food vanilla ice cream, it is good enough. It is better in a Blast, loaded with candy. But anything is better loaded with candy. :-) ** 2 Stars for Food Delivery Time) The time it takes to get your food here is very inconsistent. We've placed an app order, rolled up, and received our food within two minutes. We've also ordered, rolled up, and waited almost an hour. The dining room has the same timing inconsistency. I would not recommend coming here if you are in a hurry, especially if they are packed. ** 5 Stars for Friendly Customer Service) No matter how long you wait, I am always impressed with how friendly the staff is here. They are mostly young kids, and I love pleasant, polite, smiling young people in customer service. Kudos to Sonic on your employee customer service training program--excellent, friendly staff here! ** 5 Stars for Drink Variety) With soda, I only drink diet. At fast food, that often means Diet Coke. But here, you have Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper and Sprite Zero on the menu! Plus there are at least a dozen flavor shot options, several of which are zero-calorie too! Plus you can add fresh fruit to your drink, too! Sprite Zero with no-calorie peach, no-calorie mango and lime wedges is my fave. LOVE the soda variety here. ** 5 Stars for Deals) Sonic runs weekly specials, like half-price Cheeseburger night (I think it is Tuesdays), and a lot of app deals. I highly recommend ordering from the app. Drinks and slushies are HALF PRICE on the app ALWAYS! Kids meals are $1.99 ALWAYS! You'll also be rewarded with various deals on the app, too. Like my hubbs had a half-price Reese's Overload Wafflecone the other day, which he really enjoyed. So get the app, and start saving! Sonic may not be a perfect score across the board, but it ticks off enough of the boxes most important to us to keep our fam' coming back. All in all, I recommend Sonic, especially for their great app deals! read more

Sonic is such a novelty for me - now that I don't have to wait until I go to NC to have some I thought the novelty would wear off... Nah. :) Their onion rings are made to order and have a sweetness to the onion... DELISH. I love the Diet Cherry Limeade... 35 calories in 44oz! I'll take it! The corndog is a cult classic, I've liked them since I was a little girl going to the Fair. I know it's not haute cuisine, but it's tasty to me! :) read more

I didn't expect to give Sonic 4 stars, but here I am, doing just that. I stopped at Sonic on Monday night because I had some time to kill before picking my girlfriend up from work down the street. This location has all the things that make Sonic a house hold name like the parking drive through (where the employees roller skate to you) and the daily deals on ice cream and drinks. I stopped by around 8:00PM and the place had a pretty good line going. I ended up ordering a large popcorn chicken, a small onion ring, and one of the best drinks around, Ocean Water. Let me start off by saying that the staff here is absolutely fantastic. A gentleman came to my car which was maybe 3 cars back in line to drop my food off and when he told me the total (which was I believe $9.07) he just told me to give him $9 and then said I was set to go, now that is fantastic service! Onto the food now! The popcorn chicken was actually really good, way better then I expected it to be. The large gives you plenty of bites full of flavour. The onion rings were breaded which is usually my favourite kind, but something about these ones just didn't really do it for me, although they weren't bad. The icing on the cake comes when you take that first sip of ocean water. I'm fully aware it's basically just sprite and coconut water but it is absolutely fantastic! Overall, I liked this Sonic location way more then some of the ones I have visited in the past. I definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite or some tasty ice cream. read more

Went through drive thru to order. Got to my lane first, car in lane next to me was asked to order first. After that car left, worker got on intercom and said it would be a minute. Another car got in the opposite lane and worker took her order instead of mine. After speaking at the intercom she finally took my order. I requested hot fudge added to a shake. When I received it, it didn't appear it was added so I asked her- she said yes it's blended in. After tasting it, it definitely wasn't and she lied. Terrible service, won't be back through the drive thru again. read more

Back before Sonic opened up in the Buffalo area, I really enjoyed being able to treat myself to it if they had locations near where I was traveling... and it really seemed like something special we were missing out on. For the first few times I went it still had the nostalgia factor of feeling like I was on a trip, so I was blind to the fact that Sonic isn't really any better or worse than the typical fast food joint when it comes to the food overall. Service pretty much has been solid, and there is a uniqueness to the old school Drive-In ordering. For me, I used to get a wide variety of the food here, but recently I basically stick with the sides and shakes... which again are good to have if I have the hankering for them, but I'm no longer blown away by it. It still beats the tar out of McDonald's though. read more

This was my first time going to Sonic I've heard nothing but good things about this fast food joint so I decided it's time to make that drive and try there food for myself There was many free spots available to park and start to order and the outside of Sonic was kept clean I parked up and I was ready to order, the menu was clear and had many selections best part of it all -it's for a good price :) cant go wrong The girl who took my order was friendly and very patient she suggested to me certain meals to try that did not have pork in it and let me know the specials they had going on 10 minutes later and she came roller bladding down the parking loot it was super sweet to watch and feel that "old school joint" vibe I told her this was my first time ordering from Sonic because I'm from Canada she was super chirpy and said she loves canadians and even did a roller blade swirl for me, What a great experience and there food was delicious I'm honestly a fan now :) I ordered -beef hot dog -cheese burger combo -crispy chicken sandwich combo -3 piece chicken tenders unfortunately the reasoning behind the 4 star rating was because I only received 2 piece tenders chicken and the 3rd piece...well they accidentally gave me a "crispy chicken patty" I hope Sonic comes to Canada :) Until the next time read more

After seeing a Sonic commercial on TV for the 1,000,000th time, I decided to try them out. I was very dissatisfied with the food and the service. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with tater tots. My fiancee ordered popcorn chicken and tater tots. The food tasted bland, and the tater tots were nothing special. The ordering system is very flawed. You pull into a parking spot and order via a speaker. The menu is conveniently placed, but it is crammed full of information. They put so many different items onthe menu, it is difficult to comprehend. The worst part is the parking lot. After pulling into the parking spot, you are essentially trapped. The drive-thru lanes are directly behind the parking spots. Unless you go on a slow day, it is insanely frustrating to back out of the spot and drive away. The line of cars was backed up onto Union Rd. I finally got a small window to back up, and only because a large pickup truck let me through. I would still be stuck there right now if that wasn't the case. VERY VERY VERY OVERRATED. read more

Sonic is one of my favorite places to head too during the summer for their half price drinks from 2- 5 p.m., love the slushies when its warmer. They do have that special on all the time, that's just my favorite time to go more in the warmer months. Recently, my mom had purchased a breakfast bowl and only received half of it full...took it back the next day and the manger had no problem providing a new fresh breakfast bowl....Sometimes, saying something does make the difference. If your looking for a snack that's not food or ice cream related...try out their pretzels...yummy alternative to Auntie Annies pretzels and it says a few bucks.. you cant go wrong for $ 1.99 pretzel with cheese. read more

For a drive-thru run by a hedgehog, it's not bad. Food = 1 Service = 2 because the line moves way too slowly and takes half an hour, and there should be a way around that Limeade = 4 Other Drinks = 3 Banana Milkshake = 10 out of 5 I'm not a fan of fast food. And the food at Sonic is worse than at almost any other fast food outlet you will eat at. The lines around the block for Sonic and the half-hour wait times are nothing short of ridiculous. Why, then, am I giving Sonic a 5-star rating? Simple. Because they have one item that is hands-down 5-stars. I adore banana milkshakes, and most places either don't make them, or make them awfully. Sonic makes banana shakes perfectly, and cheaply. I would drive to Rochester for Sonic banana shakes, and they didn't make them very well. I sat in the drive thru line here in Cheektowaga for 30 minutes to find out if this Sonic had the same problem... nope. The shake was absolutely perfect... heavenly delicious. Also in summer, they have half off all shakes after 8pm. So take advantage of that. Their limeades are also pretty good. Now that Buffalo has a Sonic, it's surely only a matter of time before we get a Tails? read more

Well first time here in Buffalo and it was great just to get on. Chose dining room instead of drive through and no room for drive up. They had cash only and credit only cashier so cash was a little longer. Waited only 7 minutes for food. Our waiter brought our food on roller blades. Downfalls gave us no napkins and the wrong sauce for chicken bites. And have to wait for him to cone around to ask. French fries are excellent!!! Hot dog was ok nit grilled almost steamed. All american toppings are excellent. Tater tots are good but not as flavorful of fries. Tried the chicken bites so good really don't need sauce. And not crunchy either. No napkins yet will need to go to restroom to wash them before i leave. All in all service ok food is tasty!!! read more
