This was my first time at a Sonic and I was pleasantly surprised. We didn't want to cook with it being so hot so we opted to go to a quick spot to grab some food since most places were closed for Labor Day. The service was pretty fast. I like how they have people on roller skates delivering food still. It's very cool and retro. I opted for the double cheeseburger and fries with a Polynesian Punch frozen drink. Then we got a side of their jalapeño poppers as well. Jalapeño poppers are always really good or not so good when you get them at a fast food place so I wanted to test my theory here. The food didn't make the pictures this time. We were too hungry to remember the phone eats first these days. The food was actually really good. Went to this Sonic 3601 Union Road Cheektowaga, NY 14225 They are so messes up that they gave me wrong items and wrong drinks from a counter order. This did not happen wrong once but twice on the same order. When I got back to the hotel and open the bag and the $70 was all wrong and missing items. What they gave me was the deal menu items worth $10. Called to get refund and was denied and wanted to give me sonic credit. I am incredibly surprised. In Florida, sonics are nasty. Typical fast food with no flavor and lotsa grease, dirty and unorganized. So for this, I've avoided sonic and haven't eaten it in 10 years. We ordered 2 double bacon cheeseburger combos, a bacon cheeseburger and tried the new fries. My taters were crisp and hollow. They tasted too much like oil, and the potato was fried right out of it. My roll on my cheeseburger was moist, and the moisture was visible upon opening it up. It just made my burger soggy. I ordered the brownie chunk frozen dessert. The pictures are so misleading on the website that I thought there might be too many brownie pieces. However, I ate a quarter way through and tasted only 2 brownie chunks, the rest were chocolate pieces. It was just not favorable at all. I was so excited for this new fast food experience, unfortunately disappointed and not sure about giving it another try. This is the perfect sandwich designed by executives sharing a Google spreadsheet trying to figure out how to deliver the lowest cost product while pretending to offer a "premium product." If they trimmed just a thin slice of chicken from each sandwich, after 100 sandwiches they saved a pound of chicken. There's about 1/3 the amount of chicken in this sandwich than at McDonald's. The meat has a thick hard coating having minimal flavor. A scant amount of wilted lettuce with a gob of mayo on a roll that's pretty small and there you have it! Served with tater tots that must be on some sort of rationing system to make sure you don't get too many. The ordering at the drive-in stall was fun, quick and easy. **COVID-19 REVIEW** We were looking forward to having their food this weekday and decided to order our food on their App to which we arrived right on time to pick up our order at 2 pm. Unfortunately, we saw that there were no stalls for us to park in. On SONIC's website's FAQ section, there are NO directions on what to do if no stalls are available, so we were forced to park and go inside, which we did NOT feel comfortable doing. They need to address this!!!! After waiting inside the restaurant for over 10 minutes, we received our order. When we WALKED back to the car, we found that our order was incorrect. We wanted to try the NEW Mesquite bacon burger and when we opened it, there was NO bacon! Also, the fries were cold and old. The only reason they are getting two stars and not one is because the lame burger, that was not our order, did taste good. But I must mention, since we ordered on the App, I TIPPED them thinking I would have a car stall and it was wasted money. If you have read any of my previous reviews, I always have pictures of my food. However, I was so shocked at the poor delivery and quality that I completely forgot to take any pictures. This was my first time here. I love the whole "Drive & Sit" theme with the Roller Skating employees,like in my mom's day. Very cool ! My son & I decided to eat inside. They had a lot of delicious looking Hot Dogs,Burgers,etc.... We each got a cheeseburger & a medium drink. He got a foot long chili cheese dog that looked amazing & French fries. I got the Cheesy,bacon dog in a pretzel bun. They messed up my order & put onions on it, although I ordered no onions. I went back up & they fixed it right away. I also ordered the tater tots. (Those were really good & crunchy) My dog was nothing to brag about & I'll never get it again, but I did like the pretzel bun a lot. The prices were not too bad. It did take quite awhile for our food & drinks to come, which I thought was odd, just being burgers & hot dogs. This place has come a LONG way since they opened. Service, drinks, food, and everything has improved a ton since they first came in. I've had a lot of really good experiences since my initial visit and for my money, they've got one of the best strawberry milkshakes I've ever had. Also, half price drinks after 8pm? I didn't expect to give Sonic 4 stars, but here I am, doing just that. I stopped at Sonic on Monday night because I had some time to kill before picking my girlfriend up from work down the street. This location has all the things that make Sonic a house hold name like the parking drive through (where the employees roller skate to you) and the daily deals on ice cream and drinks. I stopped by around 8:00PM and the place had a pretty good line going. I ended up ordering a large popcorn chicken, a small onion ring, and one of the best drinks around, Ocean Water. Let me start off by saying that the staff here is absolutely fantastic. A gentleman came to my car which was maybe 3 cars back in line to drop my food off and when he told me the total (which was I believe $9.07) he just told me to give him $9 and then said I was set to go, now that is fantastic service! Onto the food now! The popcorn chicken was actually really good, way better then I expected it to be. The large gives you plenty of bites full of flavour. The onion rings were breaded which is usually my favourite kind, but something about these ones just didn't really do it for me, although they weren't bad. The icing on the cake comes when you take that first sip of ocean water. I'm fully aware it's basically just sprite and coconut water but it is absolutely fantastic! Overall, I liked this Sonic location way more then some of the ones I have visited in the past. I definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite or some tasty ice cream. read more

Went through drive thru to order. Got to my lane first, car in lane next to me was asked to order first. After that car left, worker got on intercom and said it would be a minute. Another car got in the opposite lane and worker took her order instead of mine. After speaking at the intercom she finally took my order. I requested hot fudge added to a shake. When I received it, it didn't appear it was added so I asked her- she said yes it's blended in. After tasting it, it definitely wasn't and she lied. Back before Sonic opened up in the Buffalo area, I really enjoyed being able to treat myself to it if they had locations near where I was traveling... and it really seemed like something special we were missing out on. For the first few times I went it still had the nostalgia factor of feeling like I was on a trip, so I was blind to the fact that Sonic isn't really any better or worse than the typical fast food joint when it comes to the food overall. Service pretty much has been solid, and there is a uniqueness to the old school Drive-In ordering. For me, I used to get a wide variety of the food here, but recently I basically stick with the sides and shakes... which again are good to have if I have the hankering for them, but I'm no longer blown away by it. After seeing a Sonic commercial on TV for the 1,000,000th time, I decided to try them out. I was very dissatisfied with the food and the service. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with tater tots. My fiancee ordered popcorn chicken and tater tots. The food tasted bland, and the tater tots were nothing special. The ordering system is very flawed. You pull into a parking spot and order via a speaker. The menu is conveniently placed, but it is crammed full of information. They put so many different items onthe menu, it is difficult to comprehend. The worst part is the parking lot. After pulling into the parking spot, you are essentially trapped. The drive-thru lanes are directly behind the parking spots. Unless you go on a slow day, it is insanely frustrating to back out of the spot and drive away. The line of cars was backed up onto Union Rd. I finally got a small window to back up, and only because a large pickup truck let me through. Sonic is one of my favorite places to head too during the summer for their half price drinks from 2- 5 p.m., love the slushies when its warmer. They do have that special on all the time, that's just my favorite time to go more in the warmer months. And the food at Sonic is worse than at almost any other fast food outlet you will eat at. The lines around the block for Sonic and the half-hour wait times are nothing short of ridiculous. Why, then, am I giving Sonic a 5-star rating? Simple. Because they have one item that is hands-down 5-stars. I adore banana milkshakes, and most places either don't make them, or make them awfully. Sonic makes banana shakes perfectly, and cheaply. I would drive to Rochester for Sonic banana shakes, and they didn't make them very well. I sat in the drive thru line here in Cheektowaga for 30 minutes to find out if this Sonic had the same problem... nope. The shake was absolutely perfect... heavenly delicious.
