I communicated with Randall through Yelp to get my move set up. On moving day, my movers arrived ready to work. They were personable, helpful, and speedy. I had an easy move (unloading a small ReloCube). We didn't use the full two hours, and they even helped to assemble furniture. I paid $130 and made sure to tip my movers. I was mid move and had my pods already loaded when I broke my ankle and had to be out of my current house. I was able to call up August Movers and coordinate the day my pods were arriving at the new house and the day they could unload them. They were super flexible and super nice. All I could do was sit in a chair and watch them carry my stuff in for me. They separated it all out room by room as instructed. They were very organized, took credit cards, super professional. We were 1.5 months into a very significant move that was only 10 blocks from our current home. BUT We were cutting our living space by more than 50%. This meant a lot of stuff had to be moved, some went to storage and a lot was divested. At this point the joy of downsizing had worn off and we just wanted it done. I booked August Movers for a load and unload. I hade to load from two different locations. And unload with an icy parking lot and a second story unit. Randall and Marcus were incredible!! I moved from san diego to portland. August movers helped me to unload the truck in Portland. I really recommend them. I initially scheduled with them to come on Saturday at 3:00pm but then 1 day before I called and I asked to move it to the morning. They had another move scheduled for the morning but after I told them that this is very important for me, they called the other client and he agreed that they will be late a little bit so they came in the morning as I asked. They arrived right on time. They unloaded the entire truck in about an hour. They was very careful with all my stuff. Everything was done with a smile. We had an issue moving into the apartment a big sofa since it didn't fit the elevator and also not the stairs, but they didn't give up and they disassembled it and assembled it back in the apartment. I needed to have all my furniture moved out of my house so that the hardwood floors could be redone. Luckily, I have some garage space so all I needed was HELP to move it all out. I called several companies; all with high ratings but none of them could match the friendliness and care of August Movers. The job was done with care for each item and respect for how I wanted it to be done. They work with integrity and don't promise what they can't deliver. On top of it all, they don't gauge you with additional charges for this, that and the other thing. Of course, I also called them to move it all back in when the time came. August Movers were kind, fast, efficient, careful, and every other adjective I could come up with to explain an awesome moving company. We had to pack up a 20' truck twice - once for the home to which we were temporarily moving, and once to storage. It was a LOT of stuff, including a pool table and a piano. They got it all done within an afternoon and didn't waste a second. They're clearly not out to delay for the sake of charging for more time. In a couple months when we close on our new house, we'll be contacting them again! I highly recommend. My only complaint: Contacting and communicating with them is a little challenging. Because they're a small, locally owned business, they don't employ any reception or scheduling or the like -- and they're BUSY. For that reason, it's hard to catch them. Text message is more reliable, but sometimes important nuances are missed. Don't let that deter you from using their service though, just be prepared make sure that everyone is on the same page. read more

Forgive me if I gush, but... I moved to Hillsboro from Colorado 14 months ago and engaged August Movers for unloading help over the internet. They had a completely stuffed 22' truck unloaded in an hour and a half. In addition, they read the notes on the boxes putting everything in the correct rooms and worked to get the dining room rug centered perfectly under the light. Two days ago, it was time to move again. I knew they could unload. Amy and Randall are loading geniuses, too - I was amazed when they fit more into the same 22' truck than I arrived with. Not only do they work harder than any other movers I've hired, took no breaks and refused to let me buy them lunch, everything arrived in perfect condition. I needed to move a few big pieces of furniture from the garage of my townhouse to its living quarters upstairs. Since this was an in-house move, I did not need any trucking service. All I needed was a crew of weight-lifters for hire. August Movers delivered exactly that. They showed up right on time, followed all my instructions about being extremely careful with the furniture and the interior walls & floors (the place had been renovated recently), and completed the work even sooner than I expected. They charge for 2 hours minimum, but I was happy to pay the price even though the entire move was done in only 1 hr 15 min. These guys are honest, reliable, careful, and affordable.
