I stopped by Austin Beverage Company after running the Georgetown Half Marathon on Saturday and was seriously craving carbs--specifically a bagel. I was excited to see they offer a full bagel menu with a variety of cream cheese options. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel (I originally wanted blueberry, but it was sold out) along with cinnamon cream cheese, which really caught my eye. They are very generous with the cream cheese--about a 3-ounce portion--so you definitely get your money's worth. The bagel itself was solid, but the cream cheese is what really made the whole thing shine. I also ordered a latte on the side. They didn't have skim milk, so I went with an almond milk latte with caramel syrup. Unfortunately, the latte just wasn't for me--I only had a few sips before tossing it. He tell's me he was "limited" and damn near had every thing for every breakfast taco except potato's and sausage. First visit to this coffee shop. Weekday morning so not a lot of customers. Order taker was very helpful and pleasant. Two light roast coffees and two breakfast tacos were ordered with both green and red salsa requested. Order received was accurate. Yeah! The coffee was really tasty but wasn't real hot. Would have been a higher rating if the coffee was hot vs warm. Breakfast tacos were very tasty - eggs, cheese and bacon on one and the second had eggs, chorizo and beans. Very tiny amount of salsa provided - maybe a teaspoon in each container. I understand the economics of providing it but maybe one container instead of two so not using a finger to even get a few drops out of a tiny container while in the car. It really needed the salsa but nuisance to use it. A $5 taco should warrant it. Will try again. Flavor for coffee and tacos is there - maybe just an off day? read more

I been wanting to try this place for awhile so today when I knew I had to down to Round Rock, I stopped by and ordered my normal drink. It's pretty simple and the most that can go wrong is lack of half and half. Not the case here, I ordered my Decaf americano coffee, with a good amount of half and half. The guy working here was very nice and the drink ran just under 7.00.. About the going rate I guess... It was hot, but the after taste was something nasty, like the beans absorbed some scent or the half and half went bad or something. After my 3rd to 5th sip of this nasty tainted tasting coffee, I said Hell No, more so the last sip was the biggest one.. I shared the feedback but it's hard to tell it's open, the employee said that they've heard that before, but there's not much more they can do. Ordered a 16oz Vanilla Latte and I basically did a quadruple take to figure out what I got. It tasted like an americano with some skim milk. From what I am reading in reviews they possibly use concentrate vs pulling shots. Unsure but did definitely did not get a latte. Glad I tried it, loved their social media presence. I have driven through August Coffee on the way to work several times and love their tacos. I have told my husband how good they were so this morning we drove through and waited almost 25 minutes to get to the window to order (there were 5 or 6 cars in front of us but we didn't mind waiting). However, when we got to the window (10:35 am) the lady told us they had "stopped serving breakfast". First of all, I can't find anywhere on their website or on Yelp where "breakfast " hours are listed (they're only open til 2pm anyway) AND their menu just lists "tacos"...NOT "breakfast tacos", and second, this is Texas...tacos are eaten for any meal. Okay so we have tried this a few times. I think the concept is great and the Staff is the BEST!!!! I am just so bummed that they are really small portions of food. I bought 2 breakfast bowls and 2 large ice coffees black. It came to 26.50. Now I would not be complaining but when I saw the size of the bowls I was upset with how small they were and the fact that they were half full. If you're going to charge 8.50 for each bowl I expect more than that for breakfast items. Starbucks should not be able to give more food with less cost. SMH. This place was recommended and I tried to support it because the person who recommended us is down right awesome. Interesting concept. I was told by the very nice girl at the window that they use a coffee concentrate for their drinks. So instead of using traditional hot water poured over ground coffee beans, it's a coffee concentrate mixed with water and milk? I've never had this type of coffee so I was very curious. I do like the taste of coffee and use very little to no add ons. She told me that the process reduces the bitterness and gives you more caffeine. I ordered a small latte ($4.50) like I said, I do like the taste of coffee and I could barely taste any coffee in this drink. It was hot and frothy, but barely any coffee taste. She did ask me if I wanted any extra coffee in the drink, but I declined because she said their process gives the drinks more caffeine. I actually wanted to sleep tonight so I said no. I did not finish the drink. I come from the PNW where there's coffee shops on every corner. When I learned that John the owner was also from the PNW I knew he was as serious about his coffee as I was. The neat thing about this shop is they are all cold brew based... not your traditional "espresso" based coffee. With that being said, I was also impressed that there was NO BITTERNESS to their coffee!! I always order my drinks with an extra kick of caffeine, 1/2 the sweetness and less milk. And it's perfect every single time! Hot or cold! I can say the owners (and all the workers) are amazing and want you to have the best experience so if you weren't sold the first time, go back tell them your experience and they will absolutely make it right!!!! Well it was the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my entire life! Whatever they served me looked like coffee but tasted nothing like coffee!!!!!! I kept seeing the girl over by the espresso machine (I went to the drive through) and when she brought my coffee I said to her "that's a large coffee right" and her reply was YES! I thought maybe they were making me an Espresso or Americana. Perhaps that's what they made but it still didn't taste anything like coffee. I will start off by saying that we ordered 30 minutes before they closed though this shouldn't dictate the quality of our drinks. We ordered two white chocolate mochas and they tasted like water with a splash of milk and a droplet of coffee. They were so gross and DEFINITELY not worth the $7 that we paid for each of them. We also attempted to order bagels but were rejected as they don't 'do breakfast' that late in the day. I would understand this concept if they were open all day but for a coffee shop that is only open till two, not serving food that is clearly on the menu is strange. Super great coffee but be prepared to wait. You have to go to the window to order versus placing it at the speaker box, so they can't prepare drinks ahead of time. Prices are a bit higher than the big chains but worth it to support local business. It's located right by the freeway on ramp so it's a very convenient location. read more
