This small business owner also serves our country in the Air National Guard, so right away, I'm optimistic. Pricing info is posted on the site, and you can text him to set up service! I tried the text method, and got a prompt response, and a next-day appointment. Augie gives you a heads-up when he's on the way, and checks out your problem thoroughly. It's immediately obvious that he knows his trade, and takes pride in his work. He explains your situation, what you might be doing to contribute to the problem, and how he proposes to fix it. In my case, the best way to clear the clog was to uncover the cleanout, which someone had cemented over years ago. There was no way to do the job properly that day, although I think Augie might have actually offered to uncover the cleanout for me if I hadn't told him I could get my brother-in-law to come over later and help. He did not charge me for the visit, taught me what I needed to know to find the cleanout, and promised to come back. And that's exactly how it worked. The next day, Augie came back, and the line was clear in less than an hour. I was charged the same total price I saw on the website, and it didn't seem to bother him that I was standing around watching the whole process (I learned a lot, actually). This morning the day started with the realization that our main sewer line had backed up. The last time we had a sewer line backup we made the mistake to call Roto Rooter. Roto Rooter was a nightmare, one of their techs managed to get his cleaner stuck in my drain, he told me if they couldn't get it out, they would have to dig up my front yard to correct the problem - and I would be responsible for the huge cost it would incur. They had different people out here all day long to no avail. That night another tech finally corrected the problem, but no discounts or apologies were offered. My basement drain has been slowly backing up recently until today when after I used our washer, I got a large wet backup. I had a plumber out a couple years ago for a similar problem but couldn't remember who that was so I searched google for drain cleaning. I have used Augie's twice in the past month. The first time Daniel came out to snake a standing shower drain. He was extremely professional and personable. I was so impressed by the service I used Augie's again today. This time I had an issue with not getting hot water in a different bathroom shower in my home. Tim came out and initially tried, successfully, removing the cartridge that regulates hot and cold water flow. This worked, on a 38 year old original faucet, but had a drip of water from the faucet every 30 seconds or so. After some discussion, we agreed the valve should be replaced. I can not begin to express how happy I am with the service he provided. Again, as with the first plumber, he was very personable and professional. My drain was backing up in the basement. I called (and texted which was nice) Augie's and they scheduled a visit right away. From the conversation we had on the phone, Augie thought he knew what the problem was before he came out. I have a big tree out front near my main drain and roots get in the pipes every one or two years. Augie's was honest and I didn't feel like they were trying to get as much money out of me as possible. Cleaning the main drain was affordable, especially compared to other companies such as Roto Rooter which charge by the hour instead of by the job. I will definitely call Augie's next time I get roots in my pipes. I put a baseball uniform in the washer w/ a small amount of water and then noticed that our garbage disposal mess from upstairs was backed up into our laundry tub. And the water on the floor should have been a dead giveaway after my teenage son did laundry! It was 11:15 p.m. and I found Augie's website and sent him a message through the website. 20 minutes later I had a text telling me he could come out today between 10-12 p.m. He was here by 10:30 and the problem was fixed within an hour. Really great service. We are first time home buyers and new to the problems of a home. We had a sewer smell in our basement and noticed that the water was not draining as fast as we though it should. Last week I went down to my basement to find water in my utility close. After consulting my insurance company I started looking for a plumber to come and assess the situation. Brad came over today to replace a Pressure Vacuum Breaker that had frozen and cracked over the winter. A Pressure Vacuum Breaker is the thing that connects the water line that comes from inside the house to the lawn irrigation system that is outside of the house. It had frozen because I didn't turn the water off from inside last fall. The quality of his work was very good (no problems of any sort). He was on time, he took off his shoes every time he came into the house, and he explained everything he was doing. On top of that, he seemed like a really nice guy. As told when scheduling the appointment, I received a call from Josh 30 minutes before arrival. He was able to quickly understand my plumbing issue and get to work. While I had a relatively simple problem, it was more involved than what I'd be comfortable doing myself. Josh had to cut a hole in my ceiling to access a leaking pipe. He was very careful and put drop cloths everywhere to minimize the mess. He identified the problem and made a suggestion as a fix that I understood. I had new counter-tops put in, with an under-mount sink. Tried to reattach the drain system myself, but realized there was no longer room. The drain in the wall had to be lowered.
