Your statement: I apologize that your insurance gave you bad information - Dear Melonie, BCBS told us two important points 1, we have a hearing test for $0 cost to us for the entire family and 2, BCBS confirmed that the test would have been free if Audiology and Hearing Solutions would have performed that free test vs the comprehensive test. That still stands today with BCBS. Your statement: But to set the record straight, your children had hearing concerns that necessitated a diagnostic evaluation. - Dear Melonie, why you either did not look at your records or ignore what's in your records, that is entirely your call. Your records should show that the reason we all went for the free hearing test was originated by me telling my Husband, he can't hear me. That was also a discussion point with one of your doctors when my husband was asked "why are you getting the hearing test done, do you have any symptoms or concerns". No, there was no concern about our kids having any hearing issue, the kids got tested because BCBS told us everyone in the family can get the free test. Your statement: I complete testing based on the patient's needs not what an insurance company dictates. - Dear Melonie, we scheduled and got confirmed the free test with Audiology and Hearing Solutions. At no time did we receive any information from Audiology and Hearing Solutions that this changed until Audiology and Hearing Solutions invoiced us, nearly $800. Your statement: If I did not do this, then I would not be following my code of conduct and ethics. This is in no way taking advantage of you, I do not know anything about the insurance plan or what they pay when I complete my testing. I do what is best for the patient. - Dear Melonie, this is not your hospital environment anymore, you decided to have your own practice and I will follow up on my reading on your ethics and business ethics. Your statement: Your insurance did pay their portion, and just so we are transparent, the deductible for you and your wife was $64.74 each and $150.15 for your children. This adds up to $431.78 that you paid, not $800 as you indicated in your review. - Dear Melonie, as you stated (your words) "... not know anything about the insurance plan or what they pay ...", still you are correct that BCBS paid you on the comprehensive test that someone at Audiology and Hearing Solutions invoiced to BCBS and, you are also correct that we got the subsequent deductible on the comprehensive test. Unfortunately, we expected our deductible to be $0. You publicly post what you believe our deductible was so why not post the payment Audiology and Hearing Solutions received from BCBS for the comprehensive test vs the payment Audiology and Hearing Solutions should have received on the free test ? Your statement: While I appreciate you indicating that our practice was a pleasant experience, I think this review would have been better placed on your insurance's review page. - Dear Melonie, I understand your position and your attempt to protect your business now, even true you don't know anything about billing, looking up records, engaging in conversations with customers that like to talk to you (prior to posting at Yelp) and that you have given us the impression that you see yourself as the "Dr. House" of audiology disregarding parents, customers and insurance ethics. The visits to your office can be described as pleasant. I can also tell you if you had discussed with us that you would like to proceed beyond the agreed visit parameters, we could have avoided this entire situation. So, NO that review is placed correctly with Audiology and Hearing Solutions. Our Family is happy that you are not a Dentist. I can just see getting my child back with braces when she was sent in for a cavity. I am considering contacting the governing agency for your license to practice because your belief in what is ethical should be reviewed. read more

Both Dr. Marple and Dr. Ring are truly passionate and experienced professionals!! I had my hearing tested and was not sure what to expect but Dr. Marple really put me at ease during my visit. The front office staff were really kind and courteous as well and processed my insurance claim with no issues. No significant hearing loss but I got fitted for musicians ear plugs to help preserve my hearing. They are awesome! I never go anywhere without them. I have already had my mother and father in for hearing tests and evaluations and Dr. Marple fit my mom with hearing aids and she is so happy (and regretting not going to Audiology and Hearing Solutions earlier!). Dr.Marple took the time to provide my mom with options based on her lifestyle and degree of hearing loss. Dr. Marple then familiarized my mom with all the features of the Hearing aids so she can get the most benefit. It was a great experience for our family. I contacted Audiology and Hearing Solutions after my wife talked to our health insurance, BCBS. BCBS told us that we have a 100% free to us hearing exam. I scheduled the "free" exam with Audiology and Hearing Solutions and the entire family had the test done. Shortly after we started to receive invoices from Audiology and Hearing Solutions that totaled nearly $800. After hours and hours on the phone with BCBS and Audiology and Hearing Solutions we found out through BCBS that, Audiology and Hearing Solutions did NOT invoice BCBS for the "free" to us exam, Audiology and Hearing Solutions invoiced BCBS for the more comprehensive hearing test which resulted in our $800 responsible portion of the bill. In my several attempts to at least negotiate with Audiology and Hearing Solutions, I was told by Audiology and Hearing Solutions that they "needed" to perform the comprehensive test for the base-line. I was explained what the base-line is and, why Audiology and Hearing Solutions needed to perform and invoice for that test vs the free test authorized through BCBS test which we scheduled for and thought we are getting. Audiology and Hearing Solutions apologized for not mentioning that to us at any time and stood firm that there is no negotiation on the invoices, and I have to pay the entire 100% as invoiced from Audiology and Hearing Solutions. BCBS told us the service was provided and we need to pay. We paid nearly $800 for our "free" hearing Test to Audiology and Hearing Solutions, and I asked but was not given the info of how much more Audiology and Hearing Solutions received from BSBS between the free and the upgraded comprehensive test. ... I do like to mention my experience of going to Audiology and Hearing Solutions and getting the test done was very pleasant and, I would have given the appropriate review. However, the frustration of being taken advantage of in the name of: "for your medical needs" .. does weight heavy and, finding out that BCBS does not get involved and actually backs Audiology and Hearing Solutions for the invoice they submitted lets me believe that BCBS is in a way allowing for institutions like Audiology and Hearing Solutions to invoice "freely "... I hope you will be asking better questions on your 1st visit and maybe even get a printout of the estimated cost prior to doing any test. read more

I should do 2 Yelp reviews in order to give Dr. Melonie Marple the 10 she and her practice deserve. We met Dr. Marple with our 3 week old baby. Amidst many tears, lots of questions and then whatever other questions we thought of as we met with her, we were thoughtfully guided along as to what type of hearing aid to get for our son. It is now 6+ years later and there will never be enough praise for the welcoming environment and the high-level of expertise at Audiology and Hearing Solutions. Dr. Marple is a true partner to us in making sure our son is well-equipped. Any family I meet that needs to get hearing aids for their child, I tell them THIS is THE place to go. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Marple for more than a decade; she is far and away the best audiologist one could hope for. When we started I was driving my son and asking the questions. Now he handles it all himself. She is well-informed, up to date on the latest technology, and constantly adding new information to her repertoire. She has never failed to guide my son in the right direction. He trusts and listens to her, pretty impressive when you're a teen! (He's now 21.) I'm especially impressed with her adding cochlear implants to her areas of expertise, and advising my son on the best course of action for HIS situation. We are never rushed, she answers all our questions, and has the nicest, most professional yet warm manner. I cannot recommend her highly enough. We love Dr. Marple!! read more

Dr Ring and her team have taken good care of my dad. She is a patient communicator and a thoughtful care provider, even taking the time to personally push my dad's wheelchair into the exam room. They got his broken hearing aid back to him quickly and he is thrilled to be able to hear so much better than before. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Marple for many years, and she has consistently impressed me with her knowledge, thoroughness, patience, and her first-class customer service. She constantly keeps abreast of the newest technology in the field and offers her honest insight as to whether a new product would be beneficial to me and my particular hearing loss. Today, however, Dr. Marple went way above and beyond the call of duty; she made a house call to my home this morning in order to set up a television streaming box that I had been unable to hook up. She managed to set it up within minutes, and I am thrilled to now hear the TV through my hearing aids. I highly recommend Dr. Marple to anyone with a hearing problem. read more

I highly recommend this business which is Dr. Melonie Marple. She has a PhD, and is very knowledgeable about all types of hearing issues. She gave me a thorough hearing exam, and fitted me for two hearing aids. Because we weren't sure if they would help my particular type of hearing loss, she even let me try them for 30 days before deciding to purchase (I just had to pay for the cost of creating the ear molds). I did end up buying them (Phonak Ambra brand) , and she did a follow up to make sure they were programmed right for me. She is a very caring, nice person. She is very child-friendly too.
