This place is horrible they book multiple appointments for the same time. I Brought my elderly father in law in for an appointment and they had two patients booked for a 10:00 am appointment. We were there at 9:15 am a young woman came in at 9:45 am and she also had a appointment for 10:00 am they took her In prior to my elderly father in law even though he was elderly and there thirty minutes prior. So far, I have one (1) visit to the Stoneham Medical Group, specifically a Dr. Bodopatti. I don't know where this guy came from but he is terrible. He has no observational skills, he doesn't listen to his patient, and, in his own words, he " lets the computer make all decisions after entering patient data. " In my opinion, this is not what a doctor is for. I can get the same results from the internet. Dr. Bodopatti does not return phone calls or messages via the medical portal either. When I called in to get transferred to another doctor, the person who answered the phone didn't like the fact I was complaining about " one of theirs " and suggested I go seek another Medical Group instead of continuing with Stoneham Medical Group. Maybe, if they actually start paying attention to their patients, I will update this review but as of now, go elsewhere. read more

I'd like to give this place a 5 but can't. Dr. Benetti is fine I don't have any problem with him or the rest of staff except one person, Linda. She is at the front office on the left. She is very rude and condescending, both in person and on the phone, multiple times. She acts like your bothering her and she's doing you a favor. read more

My mom was a patient of Dr. Cabrera's until she passed in 2016 but I have many visits with her and really enjoyed her. When we moved down here to take care of my parents in their final years we needed to find a local doctor as ours were out of state so we, of course, started here with Stoneham Medical Group after the great care they were taking of my mom. My first visit with a certain doctor there left me not feeling all warm and cozy so I happened to go with my husband on his first visit with Dr. Richard Benetti and I knew right away that I wanted to switch to him. He is a very caring, compassionate dr. who takes the time to explain things. While the front office can be a bit disorganized at times I will not switch from Dr. Benetti as finding a good dr. can be difficult. read more

Can I get 5 more stars for Dr. Tam Pham? She was amazingly thorough and knowledgeable. Unlike most doctors who spend 15-20 minutes with you....Dr. Pham spent close to 2 hours asking questions, providing valuable input and direction, answering our questions, smiling at us, kindly repeating instructions, demonstrating exercises, giving professional yet empathetic advice. She also made sure we knew that we should try to negotiate the cost of our labs from the hospital because of lack of insurance. Now everyone by now should know how I feel about receptionists....they are the Elizabeth Taylor of the practice. The beauty behind the brains (not that they don't have brains) but because usually one has more dealings with the receptionist one (that would bee ME) would like one that is refreshing and *gasp* (is it too much too ask???) friendly? Well clearly it isn't too much to ask from the Stoneham Medical Group because Pam is simply awesome! Not only did she give us a break on the office visit (we were paying completely out off pocket) but she made sure of an address for us and was just super. A fabulous experience...so much so that I'm changing our primary doctor today to Dr. Pham. read more

I took my elderly father there because he recently moved and needed a new PCP. Ask for one doctor who was a geriatric specialist, and he was on vacation. So another dr. was suggested by the receptionist, but I stated that was fine for this appointment, , as long as he can go back to the other doctor we wanted as his pcp. I was told that woulnt be a problem. The appointment was fine, the doctor was fine. 5 months later, I call to make another appointment and I asked to see and make an appointment with the original doctor we wanted, the geriatric dr, and the receptionist said no. "Your PCP is the first doctor you visited, that's your primary care" and I said no that wasn't the plan and she kept saying, "It's in the computer. it's in the computer. Well that's what it says on the computer". and she wasn't listening. I told her I didn't care what it said on the computer because we booked the first appointment with the understanding that the other doctor would be his primary care physician. And she huffs and says, "Well the other doctor will have to approve it to change it. I have to do a lot of things to change it." I basically said well doctor X was the original doctor we wanted to see because he is a geriatric doctor in my father's in his eighties. And she just wasn't listening she kept cutting me off and saying it was in the computer so I finally had enough of the nonsense. And told her I'll take my father somewhere else, he was no longer a patient there. I'm not interested in fighting with the receptionist, who clearly made the original mistake. And I'm okay that she made the mistake just own it and don't be such a shrew when I'm talking to you on the phone trying to fix it. The practice lost three patients that day because my father, who recommended this office to a sister called her back and told her to go to a different practice, as well as one of his neighbors who is looking for an out anyway cuz he wasn't happy there either. I would give zero stars if it were possible. Dr Arslanian is very personal, knowledgeable and wonderful with my mother. It is virtually impossible to get a hold of him, and the staff is awful. You can't even leave a message with the answering service - - what's the POINT of having an answering service if they don't take messages??? We had trouble with my elderly mother's prescriptions, and the staff couldn't even give me a list of the meds that THEY had prescribed to her. "It's not in the system, ... our system doesn't work that way. You're (me) supposed to keep track of it." Like I'm the one with the medical degree. They actually told me to call the pharmacy and ask THEM for the list. I didn't bring her list of meds to her appointment (because again, THEY PRESCRIBED THEM) and it was the end of the world. I can't even... I completely agree with the other reviewer who previously described the staff as defensive and shrill when trying to solve any problem. They just don't listen. After about a dozen calls trying to resolve the meds problem I called again and even the receptionist answering the phone said "it's STILL not fixed?" read more

As a patient for many years I cannot recommend Stoneham Medical Group. All it took was a change of my insurance company to find out that Stoneham Medical Group has been stuffing my annual physical with extra, unnecessary and costly services for years. After receiving a bill for an annual physical, which should have been 100% covered by insurance, I looked deeper into the issue. I found out they have been putting in wrong medical codes, adding services that I am unaware of, services I don't need, no explanations when asked and a billing department that refuses to fix problems Stoneham Medical Group itself caused. It has always been difficult to reach anyone capable of answering questions on the phone during open office hours, requiring several calls throughout the day to get a hold of someone. To further my frustration, they are very slow to respond to messages in their web portal and do not return voicemails in an appropriate timeframe, if at all. When you do actually get a response on their web portal, the responses either don't answer your questions or create more questions. I truly regret wasting years building relationships with their doctors and losing a small fortune while entrusting Stoneham Medical Group with my healthcare. read more

Based on Dr. Pham's other (great) reviews, it seems I caught her on bad days. Both of my appointments have been rushed and impersonal. While she seemed very knowledgable, she did not take the time to talk to me at all or give me a chance to ask questions. She was hasty in my exam, which was very uncomfortable. On a positive note, both receptionists and the nurse I saw were all professional, personable and kind. read more

I can't speak for all the doctors but my experience with Dr. Cabrera has been horrible. The practice implemented a new patient portal and has assumed this is the only communication. My doctor canceled my appt. When I called to reschedule, I waited on hold for 13 minutes. When I finally get through, I was promptly hung up on because I didn't respond right away as I was on mute...because it took so long. When I called back (after waiting another 15 minutes), the women I spoke to was extremely rude and had an attitude. I am very displeased with how they run their office. read more

I came back to see Dr. Pham last month to get a new prescription and instead of just opening up the Merck manual and shoving me out the door, she spent over 30 minutes with me going over the side effects I'd been experiencing and giving me several options from which to choose as well as discussing the pros and cons of each. I really liked that she took the time to help me understand it all and not just shove a pill in my hand and send me on my way. She even had her assistant call me a few days later to see how the new pills were working. read more

Dr. Clara Cabrera is an excellent physician! Never hesitates to sit, spend time with you & discuss medical issues. She is current and extremely knowledgeable of medical diagnoses & keeps up to date with new medical technology. She also has a warm and reassuring personality. Although I felt that Dr. Pham was knowledgeable and probably very caring, she needed to be prompted to slow down her speaking and actually look at my elderly mother while she was talking to her. This was their very first meeting! Still, I hoped given more visits and practice with reminders as needed, that Dr. Pham would improve. But then, I started having problems similar to those others have reported--amazingly rude and incompetent staff. I ultimately reported the medical assistant for a HIPPA violation for discussing my mother's medications over the phone with a woman she could not identify the following day. I only learned about it when I called to question an odd "follow up" message I received via the portal. Rather than apologizing, they blamed the family for their confusion. Sadly, on my mother's next visit, Dr. Pham expressed annoyance for having gotten a talking to by Lahey, and my mother apologized! FYI, I made the report through the mechanism Lahey has for such things, and no one from Lahey has ever gotten in touch about it (it's been a couple months). It's been a horrific experience, but I have a feeling it won't be easy to find a decent replacement soon--do I dare post this review and risk having SMG take it out on my mother more? If it saves someone else a similar experience, yes. read more

Did I see the same Tan Pham everyone is raving about? Not only did she shove me out the door and tell me she would see me next year she spent about zero seconds talking to me, addressing any concerns. I serious don't feel she is very knowledgable. She asked me 12 questions in a row and allowed no time to answer. Ridiculous. I told the receptionist on my way out that it was the worst doctor I ever came across and she went back to try to get the doc to talk to me and she refused sending her assistant instead. Oh yeah as soon as she met me no handshaking, no smile just handed me business cards to get her name out there she said because she is looking for more patients. I am skeptical if the other reviewers on here are not friends of the doctors doing her a favor. She ridiculously examined my breasts and "educated me " how to go in a circle looking for discharge. Even if I had a lump she would not have found it she put no pressure at all. I see an OB regularly, I have had a mammogram. I needed help with some things. I did not get much. read more

I will definitely travel to Stoneham from Texas to have Dr. Tan Pham attend to all of my medical needs. I saw her in 2010 and 2014 and she has not changed even one tinny bit. Dr. Pham is an excellent doctor and I have to admit that my daughter was the one who took me to Dr. Pham in 2010, so YES! Dr. Pham deserves more than 5 stars, because everything Joanne G. said about her is downright true because I was present in 2010. First time I felt comfortable enough to actually opened up to complain about all of my aches and pains. She was really really listening to me, and asked me questions so I could comment. Again in 2014, Dr. Pham spent more than 2 hours with me, and she took care of all of my needs in an excellent, patient and very informative manner. I would recommend Dr Pham extremely high to anyone who would like to reduce their stress from any ailment they may have at that time, she is THAT EXCELLENT! I I have not met any other doctor that has the integrity that this doctor has shown, not since the 1970's, so I know what I am talking about! And not to forget others... her office staff are wonderful and very supportive too, they help in any way they can, so they could share the stars with Dr. Tan Pham! read more
