(1 star) Woburn…read moreMedical Associates failed my father in a way that cannot be overstated. A 2022 CT scan clearly documented interstitial lung disease (ILD), a serious and progressive condition. His primary care providers -- Drs. Albanese, Nallari, and Wiwento -- had access to this result. Yet it was never disclosed, never discussed, and never acted on. No follow-up. No referral. No monitoring. Nothing. This is a fundamental failure of basic medical responsibility: reviewing results, informing the patient, documenting care, and initiating appropriate follow-up. Instead, a known diagnosis was ignored. Because of this negligence, my father was denied the chance for early treatment and specialist care. His condition progressed unchecked. Their failure did not just delay care -- it caused unnecessary suffering and ultimately contributed to his death. Patients trust their primary care doctors to catch critical findings and act. That trust was completely broken here!!!!!!!

Not only did I check in, but I gave the front desk person our card. I was waitiing for 20 minutes when Dr. Wiwanto came out. What else do they get wrong? But the biggest problem was that she refused to give my Mom renewals on prescriptions for meds she is taking. She wanted you to go back to person who prescribed meds. Not logical. Mom is 87 and needs her daily meds. We left and went to an office where the nurse told us that it was wrong for us not to be given medications that are necessary. Very frustrating.

Given how difficult it is to find a really great primary care physician, I'm surprised that there…read morearen't more reviews of them here. Five years ago I got my first grownup job in this area, and was presented with the enormous task of picking a new doctor. I had very little help as most of my friends were mostly accustomed to student health services, the essential but terrible health care of grad. students in any local university. Being unceremoniously presented with a phone book sized listing of providers from Blue Cross & Blue Shield provided nothing in the way of actual assistance in making a decision. I didn't choose Dr. Holt exactly randomly, but my criteria wasn't exactly scientific. I looked for listings that were: close to my apartment at the time, female, fairly young and with an American sounding name. In short somebody who I felt I could relate to and would feel comfortable asking questions of. I was more than willing to try multiple doctors until I found one that I could be comfortable with. As it turned out I didn't have to. I hit the jackpot on my first try with Dr. Holt. Dr. Holt is extremely thorough, taking actual time to have a conversation with me about medical concerns and also about general lifestyle choices. As a fairly healthy person I generally see her only 1-2 times a year, but she always appears to remember the conversations that we've had on previous visits. Her warmth and genuineness match the knowledge and skill she brings to her profession. Also, I don't want to over-share, but the ladies out there will understand the difficulty in finding a PCP who is willing to perform basic GYN care. Dr. Holt does both, and I love not having to keep two separate annual checkups. There's also a lab center on site. So convenient! I've had pretty good results in getting 'sick' appointment, never having to wait for more than 48 hours. However, I debated taking this review down a star because of how long it takes to make appointments for physicals or routine checkups. (Sometimes up to a month.) In the end I decided that all of the positives FAR outweigh this one minor issue.

I hear stories about primary care doctors that rush, are impersonal, and don't leave the patient feeling like they matter. Dr. Holt couldn't be more opposite. She remembers all the details of not only my medical history, but my personal life as well. She listens to my concerns and creates treatment plans to address them. Three of my friends have become patients and rave about her too. If you can get in to see her, do it.

I've been coming here for the better part of a decade. Matter of fact I think it's been about 12…read moreyears. I went in in 2015 after 6 years of having blue green discharge from my nipples and had aspirations as well as a biopsy in a tag placed. I go in every 6 months for mammograms but with my super dense breasts I have to request an ultrasound and an MRI. Just recently looking through my paperwork and realizing I was diagnosed with pash disease, which is considered non-cancerous however, it has been over a decade and I have been complaining non-stop about the discomfort in my right breast just to be ignored and not even told that I have a disease. And when I went in just this last year. Dr. E and I were discussing some things and I exclaimed along the lines of I know that obviously some of the stuff I'm dealing with is hormonal and her response was there. You go. You diagnosed yourself! Never once. Did she ever bring up the fact that Cash disease has a lot to do with estrogen and progesterone or even offered to do a full lumpectomy to remove the painful lesion that has been in my breast for the better part of a decade! I am beside myself with the lack of caring that I have received when it comes to my concerns and being treated like I'm some hormonally challenged person like that doesn't understand their own body! I requested a new breast surgeon. We shall see .. Never mind the fact that the last nurse I spoke to kept insisting I had my biopsy in 2019 which is false. It was in 2015 and I know because I was working and went on my lunch break and had to use an ice pack for the rest of the day at my orthodontic office. Back in 2015. LOL people just gaslight you! It is beyond sickening!

I needed a letter to travel internationally at the height of COVID and it took me more than six attempts to secure the correct paperwork after sending explicit instructions several times over the Lahey portal and over the phone. They waited until the absolute last minute to complete this request despite my putting it in ahead of time to ensure enough time to be ready to leave the country. Additionally, they do not follow through with prescription or referral requests. I requested an extremely important rX and CVS returned it to them as my insurance didn't cover it. It took them over a week to respond and after seven phone calls to the practice and CVS, I still do not have this prescription. My PCP is also away for the long weekend, so it will likely be another week before I can have it filled. I HIGHLY do not recommend using this practice.

Now it's staffed with rude, unprofessional, incompetent people. From the front office that double book patients, make clerical errors, over charge, fail to make up dates to patient information, to the associates that are curt, argumentative and disrespectful, they don t schedule exams, return calls, fill prescriptions in a timely manner or contact after you leave messages for urgent reasons. To the doctor that spend less then 5 minutes with patients but want you back so many times without a medical reason. This saddens me that people are dollar signs and nothing more.
