I was given a zoom appointment today with Dr. Pastor. Maybe my doctor was busy at the time. I do not know. Dr. Pastor (whom I have never spoke with before) was extremely rude and downright mean. He tried to act as if he were my psychiatrist and told me to take a psychiatric medication when he does not know me at all. Despite having been in the hospital over the weekend and receiving discharge papers from the hospital stating I had a certain condition, Dr. Pastor told me there was nothing wrong with me (physically), and implied in a very nasty manner that it was all in my head. This is the kind of thing white, older doctors used to tell women 30-40 years ago, even 100 years ago. Whatever they were experiencing it was all in their head. Needless to say I will not be talking to Dr. Pastor anytime soon and certainly would not recommend as a doctor to anyone, female or male. read more

Terrible experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Raduazzo for years and without fail I repeatedly suffer through hour long waits in the exam room. Now I am at the end of my rope. I went for a regular annual visit. After this huge wait (...again...), we had a quick 10 minute exam. He sent me for routine bloodwork downstairs after I confirmed with him that this was all standard preventative covered testing. It turns out he billed the appointment as two appointments (triggering $300 in excessive costs to me) and none of the "standard" bloodwork was in fact standard. Now I am being told to pay $1200 in bloodwork costs. He takes no responsibility and I have spent HOURS on the phone with insurance ...the patient is in a weak position and he took complete advantage of me. I will never return. This is a business and they run it poorly, with the patient having to pick up the monetary and time costs... read more

Big practice, confusing rules and regulations, very unhelpful receptionist(s). *I do not recommend this practice.* I called for a prescription yesterday and the receptionist made me come in to see a doctor because it was the 1st time they had prescribed this drug to me--although I've been getting it from my other doctor for years. I went in, waited, and saw the doctor, who told me that I hadn't needed to come in and the receptionist should have known that. . Today, I called with several questions related to other matters. The receptionist was *really* rude and unhelpful. I also have to wonder if she even gave me the correct information, given what happened yesterday. Again, not recommended. read more

I also see Dr. Tandetnik. She's not bad, but I have high standards because my pediatrician and family doctor during college were both phenomenal. She was the first doctor I got an appointment with when I moved to Boston last year, so I haven't compared her to anyone else in the area. I haven't had any major turn-offs that happened, and I like how you can get bloodwork right there which is very convenient. For the most part the office has treated me well, and I agree that the front desk girls could be a little nicer. Dr. Tandetnik is not a very friendly or outgoing person, so I'm a little less open with her than my previous doctors. She is approachable and knowledgeable, but I feel a little nervous to ask her some more personal questions. Bottom line - not discouraged, but not strongly recommended read more

4 stars for the practice itself, 5 stars for Dr. Raduazzo. This is a pretty convenient practice. You can almost always be seen the same day for a sick visit, if not by your physician, then by a covering physician. The front desk staff is generally fairly grumpy and seems annoyed to be there, but I think that's the case for many places. Dr. Raduazzo is the best doctor I have had! We don't live in Brookline anymore but I will still travel to go here. read more

Hooray! I have health care for the first time as an adult!! Before the Massachusetts man had to force me! I choose Pastor Medical Clinic because an old Brookline resident said his family had been going there for years, because of its location, and because of lack of other advice from friends. So much for location. Beacon St. is so close to me in JP yet so far away. I have no car. Tried to get a doctor in the JP but they are all booked. I had a pretty good experience. Though when I asked the nurse if she saw the creepy raised red bumps on the back of my tongue she said she didn't see anything. Ok. Tony.. The Russian Dr. Tandetnik actually looks like my old boss when I taught ESL. I didn't know whether to ask her for drugs or a paycheck. Dr. Alla Tandetnik seems alright, she was kind of rushed from the start, like I guess most Western docs are these days, but she did squeeze me in today and I haven't had my physical yet- Damn I kinda wish they had a label for what I have. Raised red bumps on the back of the tongue, swollen sore. At certain times of the day I feel totally trained, other times ok. No strep? Mono? Taste bud cancer? I have so many pipe hopes and dreams for my new doctor to be my nutritionist, masseuse, skin specialist, and personal trainer, besides spiritual adviser. Oh yeah, and I need someone to hold my hand when I get a shot, cause I have a tendency to pass out... I have been going to Pastor medical for more than 5 years. Dr. Tandetnik is very businesslike and gets to the point. She asks questions and listens when I ask them as well. She's not all warm and fuzzy but she gets me in and out with minimal pain. Pluses: In the few cases that I've gotten sick and just can't make it into the office (or didn't have health insurance coverage) they have called in scripts for me based on very detailed conversations about symptoms. The woman who draws blood is fantastic - best stick I've ever had and I'm not really good at that stuff. The woman you pay is so nice and the nurses are always friendly. Cons: The women at the front desk who answer your calls and greet you have always been consistently rude and disagreeable. I don't understand how through they years they have made much bad choices on hiring! There have been quite a few of them - never an old face when you go there. Not really the greatest first impression, and you wonder how they treat the older patients who I always see there. I mean seriously, most of the time we go there because we aren't feeling well, the least they could do is have a sympathetic smile... get some bedside manner!! read more

She's thorough and sweet at the same time. Since my very first appointment with her a few years ago, she has been caring and aware of my health and I really appreciate that. We were told that a blood work up was 100% covered by insurance and routine. The doctor entered codes that were additional charges and not covered. After more than a year debating and discussing with insurance we have been told that it is our responsibility to check every code with insurance. This is FRAUD by the doctor. read more

Dr. Datu is incompetent. My father in law started seeing her this year, and right from day one she has been a disappointment. She comes off as rude and didnt even call his mental health counselor like she said she would. Then today, I find his leg completely infected. He had whacked his leg on a coffee table a month ago and got 16 stitches. He went back to get them taken out ny Dr. Datu - she said she took all 16 out - covered it up and sent him on his way. My father in law has extreme mental health issues and clearly is unable to care for this wound by himself. She never should have sent him home without anything, not even a call to myself or another family member on file- sure enough, not only was it extremely infected, necrotic, and gaping, but i counted at least 4 stitches left behind. I had to take him back to the office for antibiotics and the rest of the stitches removed, but i also have to take him to see a wound specialist because its so bad. He will have a crater in his leg, all because Datu couldnt do her job. I am astounded this doctor still has her license. Nothing against the practice in general, but STAY AWAY FROM DR. Today was the last time I went to Pastor Medical Center. While the Medical staff is pleasant and efficient, their support staff (receptionist, check out staff) couldn't be ruder and surlier if they tried. Where do they find these miserable people? I have been going here for years but I am fed up with the rudeness of the staff. Not worth the hassle. Worth remembering that most people only bother to give a review when they're upset, so the reviews shown on Yelp are more likely to be negative. That said, I'm surprised by negative reviews of Dr. Datu and also of front desk staff. I called for urgent care appt. today, staff answered quickly, and offered 4:30 pm today or tomorrow morning. They've always been kind and helpful whenever I've interacted with them. Wondering if Dr. Datu's quiet, calm persona might fool people into thinking she's not knowledgeable? That would be a mistake. She's got great listening skills, has been very thorough at each visit, and is willing to refer to specialists when there is a need. Very happy with her and the whole team. read more

I have been seeing Dr Krause for years. The other reviewers didn't name her, but I think they were referring to her. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! She is fantastic!!! Definitely a no bullsh*t kind of person, which I really appreciate. She doesn't waste time, but she doesn't kick you out of her office after the exam. I had some concerns and she listened to me and made recommendations. She uses BIDMC Patientsite online and she's very prompt with her response whenever I've sent a message to her. I rarely have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes to see her. If there is an emergency, it's understandable that the wait time might be longer. She isn't taking new patients at the moment, so she must be doing something right. ;-) read more

I completely agree with the other posts. I moved to Boston and had someone recommend me to her. She's the "I'm not gonna bullsh*t you" kind of doctor. She doesn't want her time wasted yet I always have mine wasted while I'm there. Be prepared to wait an hour at LEAST past your appt time in the waiting room before you're even seen. If you have any forms to be signed, its better to do it while you have a checkup--otherwise you have to pay $25 flat fee instead of just your co-pay. Once she sees you, she's in and out. She has been good about calling in prescriptions for me. read more

My husband I have been loyal patients of Pastor Medical Group for many years. WE always felt that Dr.Katz is truly a family doctor who cares about our health. Whatever the problem was, I would call at 8:00AM and get a LIFE person on the phone. My doctor would call me back within 30 min. and most often than not, I would be offered to stop by at the office within the next hour for somebody to see me. Dr.Katz always followed up to see how things are after the appointment. Once, I called him right before leaving for Europe for a couple of weeks, and asked for his directions in case my cough will not go away while I am away from home. He prescribed me a 'just in case' medication to carry me through my trip (that actually helped me to survive there). Unfortunately, about a year ago our doctor left this practice, and it seems that things are changed beyond recognition. Within last few months I had a couple of very unpleasant experiences with the doctors and receptionists at Pastor Medical Group. At the end of December, my husband woke up with acute abdominal pain. I called Pastor Medical Group at 8:00AM and left a message in their 'emergency line' and, as instructed, waited for an hour. Nobody called us back, after 9:00AM I called again and talked to a receptionist who was less than helpful and plainly rude. She promised a call back within 30 minutes.... To make a long story short, it took me more than 3 1/2 hours of begging and multiple calls to the clinic to get Dr. Carr on the phone to hear him sanding us to the hospital. I know, I should have done it on the first place... My husband had an emergency operation and everything turned out fine, but I find it unacceptable that NOBODY from Pastor Medical group ever called us to follow up on this emergency case! This morning I had another less than pleasant experience with the same clinic. I have a choking cough and shortness of breath and decided to call the Medical office at 8:00Am, but was not lucky to talk to anybody till after 9:00am. After I described my condition I was offered a 2:00PM appointment with my doctor. When I inquired whether somebody else can see me earlier, I was told that it is not possible SINCE IT REQUIRES PERMISSION OF MY DOCTOR! And on the second thought, all doctors are busy till afternoon. My appointment was 30 min. later than scheduled, and lasted for 30 seconds max. I was told than I might have a virus, or sinus infection, or whatever... that I can be given an antibiotic (in case I DO have pneumonia), but after all I was sent home with just Robitussin prescription. I was also told to come back in 2 days if I don't feel better. My favorite part was getting the prescription. I was TOLD THAT THE DOCTOR WILL CALL THE PHARMACY WITHIN 3(!) HOURS to place an order for my medication. The magical potion I was longing for since early morning will be ready only after 6:00PM! So much for the sense of urgency! Pastor Medical Group is a disgrace and has nothing to do with a professional medical practice. I start looking for a different family practice. read more

Doctors in this group are great, but the front desk/receptionist are awful. They said my insurance was coming up as inactive and I told them they needed to call the administrator and the response they gave me was they don't make out going calls. Talk about not wanting to help out a patient and poor customer service. I provided them with all the information from my card, but they refused to do anything with it. I also tried to make an appointment and the quickest they could get me in was 2 and a half weeks. If I'm sick or I need to see a doctor, it's usually for something that is wrong now. If you can put up with the inconsiderate and uncaring staff, and can wait to see a doctor, you will be happy with your doctor. read more

I have been going to Pastor Medical and Dr. Krause in particular for over 8-years and have to say that this is a great practice. Dr. Krause is extremely experienced and is the type of doctor that can tell you what something is or at least how to deal with it. You don't leave an appointment with Dr. Krause with the feeling that you did not accomplish something. Like the previous reviewer said, Dr. Krause is very good with patientsite and responding to emails. She usually responds within a few hours. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Krause in particular!! read more

This is the best place to go for health care!!! I just love them. My Doctor is Dr. Patrishka Patel. She literally takes great care of me!! She is on top of things and shows general concern for me and my health. She jumped right on my care 10 years ago when I had a lung thing. I just love her!!! Dr Patel also always referred me to good Doctors like my cardiologists Dr Welty. The only other Doctor I had the pleasure of dealing with at this practice was Dr Bruce Pastor. My husband and I have been "patients" of Dr Tandetnik for almost 4 years. In that time my husband and I have not had any real reason to look for a new doctor. Dr. Tandetnik provides referrals promptly and though there is no personal patient/doctor relationship it hasn't bothered me too much. THEN YESTERDAY my husband saw Tandetnik for a physical for the first time since our baby was born. Tandetnik had provided a referral for my infertility and had absolutely no idea of or connection regarding my husband and this referral (maybe a note in a file would be a nice touch!) AND this is what killed it .....my husband told her he did in fact have a daughter when she assumed he did not have children and when she again assumed (not asked if) she was healthy my husband said yes and also told her that our daughter has DOWN SYNDROME to which she relied "I'M SORRY"! WHAT? THAT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL... I've been going (rarely) to Pastor Group for 25 years. My GP is Barbara Krause. She is great, never makes me feel rushed, is straightforward and remembers things without flipping through my chart, though I see her infrequently (I hate going to doctors in general). Whenever I've had an urgent issue, they fit me in the same day with someone in the practice. I believe they assign a doctor each day to cover urgent care. Over the years, I've seen most of the docs in the practice and have felt confident in all that I saw. Whenever I've needed a specialist, Krause kept in close contact. Maybe the receptionists are unpleasant as others have said. I don't go often enough to recall or pay much attention. They seem to get the job done as far as scheduling appointments and checking people in. I don't expect much more than that. It's a big practice with a constant flow of people coming in, so I imagine the front desk job is pretty stressful. Sometimes I've had to wait a while when I've come in for an urgent appointment. That s**ks but is no worse than any other practice I went to over the years. When I've had to wait a while, I've been annoyed by the horrible magazines in the waiting area - golf, boating, sports - nothing I have the least interest in reading. I complained to Krause once and she told me that staff take the good magazines with them to lunch then don't bring them back. But today, with iPads and smart phones, who cares? So not the best in the world, but good enough. Lots of good docs who work together as a team. read more

Dr. Tandetnik is fantastic. She is thorough and tries to answers all your questions. I trust her judgement. The practice is run fairly well and they are reasonably organized. You can usually always get in to see one of the doctors, even on the same day. Most of the doctors are very good to excellent. read more

I have been going here for years and the office has been getting worse and worse for all of those years. Now that one of the doctors is leaving it is time to find a new practice. The front desk staff is consistently bad and messes up just about everything. The doctors are rushed and don't explain things. Dr Jayson Carr is just awful and treated me like I was wasting his time, even though he only dealt with me for 10 minutes. As I said, time to find a new practice where I will be treated like a person and talked to for more than the rushed, usual 15 minutes. read more

Doctor Joseph Raduazzo is an excellent physician. He is brilliant and compassionate! I had a fantastic primary care doctor, Donald Stern, for many years, but he went with the VIP program. This is a great group. The front office staff is pleasant and friendly and they do their best to accommodate urgent care visits. The doctors are sympathetic and thorough. Physicians can only work with the information that they are given both objectively and subjectively; if patients are vague or don't ask questions, it can make it difficult to come to a conclusion regarding a patient's situation. As a person with a medical background and having come from a practice that was really bad, I know what passes for good and this practice is very good. The downside is that it may be tough to get in as they are not always taking new patients. read more

When Dr. Ronald Katz, (a great doctor) IMO, left, Pastor Group, to set up new practice, I was lucky enough to get Dr. T. She has been great for me, travel a ways to go to her, I like Dr. Pastor, A fine doctor, has done colonsrophys at B.I. for me, the best, I even watched them on Olympus tv, during procedure! Watched in living color my innards, minimal anesthetic, easy peasey ,found "mass', removed and had checked for cancer, thank God, it came back negative, back to Dr. Alla, matter of fact, friendly in a professional way, I appreciate that, been about 7 years, and I think she has done a great job, I want my doctor to be frank and professional, only complaints (not about her)..but parking can be tough, and girls up front harried, but is that a bad thing? I'd rather have them busy (many patients to deal with= popular practice, only one reason why, they care about patients....also, the Ladies in the "Blood Lab" lovely as are the interns, I can recommend these folks with a thankful heart. read more
