Terrible Service... I now have tingles in my hand because of how minimally I was checked up on. I (regrettably) had X-rays taken, and they reused a wrap that the hospital used, which fell apart in about a week... maybe less. Should have read the reviews regarding their sole interest in insurance premiums and copays over patient care and service before accepting my primary's referral here. Will be informing her to never send another patient their way. Can confirm prior reviews mentioning that they operate like robots, high volume, long wait times, and impersonal care. This place is exactly what is wrong with healthcare. I'll go a step further to say they are partaking in illegal medical malpractice and I will be filing a complaint. I wasted 1.5 hrs being jerked around by a PA acting like the back surgeon I was supposed to see before he admitted the surgeon was not in and he could not interpret the prior x-rays they took for a quick $1k. They then went ahead and charged my insurance for the fake visit. They quickly tried to rebook me after admitting their frustration with Dr. Younghein "seeing" patients often when he has no intention of showing up. Well, I figured I would try again without wasting the hour commute (since they already charged $1k for x-rays) and booked a telehealth appointment. I received an email saying I would get a link for the appointment the day of. Now is the day and time of - no link. I got in from travel at 2am, woke up at 7am for an appointment that was set prior to the office opening (Dr. Younghein was supposed to take from his house). The technical support line was unable to find out why and advised to call back during office hours. I imagine they will charge for this fake appointment as well and I will provide it as further evidence of conscience malpractice. The only positive note from here is that Dr. Dave who saw me for plantar fasciitis was knowledgeable, honest, and actually physically present at his appointment. read more

Have been going with Mom lately as she has been getting some shots and is now working on Knee Replacement. They seem to have a good flow in the office & shuttle people in & out fairly fast. Girls are all nice enough, there is ample seating in the waiting room. Drs are another story, but Ill keep that opinion to myself. I have been working with Agility Orthopedics through my surgeon Dr. Younghein, and Jimmy Knowles in the physical therapy department for over a year. I dont often enough give compliments but this is very deserving. Both Dr. Younghein and Jimmy are amazing humans, and amazing healers. They both listen to hear your words placing meaning and understanding of the messages conveyed and applying it in a way that leaves you feeling deeply valued as an individual and as a patient. Admittedly, when I first began physical therapy there was a little problem with scheduling. It turns out, that when I would get my text message confirmation, I would hit the cancel button which canceled my appointments. I also have showed up when I didnt have appointments scheduled. This admittedly was my fault. I have a reading processing dyslexia and I would often mix up the dates and times. While I feel completely embarrassed, I also felt relieved when I was shown what to look for. It is these things that make Agility a truely valued practice. Over the time I have been there I have overcome fears and anxieites over surgery and have built a strong respect, admiration and gratitude for not just these two men, but for all the work that goes on behind the scenes that are not obvious. Let me add that I am a health care provider myself with 33 years of practice. I say practice because practice means you are still learning. I will forever be practicing medicine because I will never know it all, and I will forever be thankful for team Agility and the dedication to their practiced craft as well. read more

I see they still insist they have "virtual visits" WRONG. They kept sending my Skype invites for virtual visits. The last one I actually went to make use of it instead of driving to a crowded office park for the visit. The doctor never showed up for the call. I called them and they say they don't do virtual visits! OMFG it says on their web site and they kept sending me Skype invites. Then they would call me saying I missed an appointment that they never called me to schedule. They just made an appointment and blamed me for not knowing. They literally called me a liar and swore at me on the phone. I told them I'll go elsewhere to get my surgery. They literally sent me a certified letter nastily saying they choose not to treat me anymore because I keep missing their appointments and that I was "rude" to them. I'll go elsewhere. I don't need to pay for their next megayacht that badly. read more

It's too bad the orthopedic surgeon side and the physical therapy sides are combined on Yelp, because my experience was pretty different between them. A lot of the negative reviews for the orthopedic doctor side I would somewhat agree with, I had 2 appointments with a doctor that lasted 5 minutes each, and my health insurance was charged a ton for those visits. It did feel a bit impersonal at times. However! The physical therapy office is great, with kind practitioners and office staff offering personalized care. All the providers who treated me were kind and friendly, took care to adjust my exercises if I had pain in a particular area, were able to answer questions, etc. I can't rave enough about the PT office. The only real issue is sometimes on Mondays/Tuesdays, it gets crowded and a bit chaotic. If I end up needing PT again, this would be my first choice. read more

I had surgery 6 weeks ago with one of the doctors who works or contracts at Agility. The surgeon is a very well educated physician and has very good people skills as has been said in some reviews. That being said, the service provision at Agility Orthopedics is so poor that it puts to question whether this practice meets the basic standard of care for patients who have had serious surgery. After surgery the surgeon was adamant that within 2 weeks from surgery I would need to start Occupational Therapy. Then after the six week follow up I would start Physical Therapy. I was supposed to have my follow up on 9/8, but the surgeon had said I could have the follow up as early as 9/4. I called the front desk scheduling people and said I would like to have my follow up earlier in the week, hopefully 9/4 instead of 9/8. The scheduling person did not speak English well at all and started urgently telling me this was a surgery follow up and that I absolutely could not skip this appointment. Again, I emphasized to her that I was not trying to skip it, but I was actually trying to have it earlier so I could start OT ASAP as my recovery was and still is extremely important to me. After multiple attempts to get her to understand she finally looked and told me there were no earlier appointments. My first follow up scheduled for 9/8 with the surgeon was rescheduled the morning of as they cited he had a surgery scheduled for that time now and they had to push me into the next week. That was frustrating, but I attended that follow up compliantly. After that follow up I worked to schedule my first OT appointment to start my recovery. I was already a little late to start OT as it had been recommended by the surgeon. The scheduling people said they never have OT or PT in afternoons, but only mornings. My schedule is very tight in the morning, but not in the afternoon. I made a change and took the morning appointment which was the first available (4 weeks out of surgery). On the morning of the scheduling department called and asked if I could come in at a later time. I told them I could not and told the scheduling person I could not afford to delay my recovery any longer. She apologized and seemed to totally freeze up saying nothing else but sorry over and over. I had my follow up with Dr. Waugh on 10/3. The surgeon said "there was drama with OT huh" and then told me he would have wanted me to start OT earlier than 4 weeks out, but also then said I don't need OT or PT at all. My wife and I are trying to reach anybody at Agility now to discuss this, yet despite talking to the incompetent front desk staff a couple of times, still have not heard back from anybody. Other reviews reference prioritization of collecting deductibles and copays, and I can confirm this is absolutely true. In fact they had me overpay stating before the surgery they would not allow the surgery unless I paid the $3000 up front, which I did... only to find out weeks later via insurance EOBs that I had overpaid. It took 3 weeks to finally get a hold of their billing department, and they said they see the overpayment and after 6 weeks of having the extra money they said it would be another 4-6 weeks for them to reimburse me for the overpayment. If I never called them would they have even caught this or have had any integrity? Not sure. But, I am now 6 weeks out from very serious surgery, have not had OT nor PT, and am completely confused about whether I need it or not. This surgeon might be a very good surgeon, but if he is not aware of these horrendous mistakes and lack of ability to communicate, then he is risking his reputation or maybe is complicit with non-compliance with the standard of care. I highly recommend any person needing any surgery or outpatient orthopedic care, drive an extra 20 minutes to go into Boston and see a work with a clinic that really knows what they are doing, is not working monomaniacally to play Tetris with their scheduling to maximize both surgical and appointment revenue at the cost of the basic standard of care in treating patients, and does not have so many separate departments that make it impossible to get a simple answer and resolve any issues at all. I hope the physician understands this and surrounds himself with a better front desk staff that does not compromise patient care the way Agility Orthopedics does. read more

Limped in with a broken ankle. Was recommended by my doctor. Painfully rude receptionists. One of them I talked to on the phone was just plain incompetent. And they show very little concern for the comfort of their potential clients. I don't know how the quality of the doctors are, because I left after dealing with the office staff. My friend took a day off to drive me in, because an appointment was eventually set up. Instead of canceling it over the phone, they waited until I made the trip all the way there. BE CAUTIOUS! Had a very bad experience. Small procedure in-office at Agility got infected and went Sepsis. Was hospitalized, with a major operation on my ankle to remove source infection. 8 days in hospital and 6 weeks of immobility and home based IV antibiotics. Still not 100% but thank goodness I made it to the hospital in time to prevent the infection from fully entering my bloodstream. Could have been the end. read more

Agility Orthopedics is a high volume practice. Unfortunately as a result, things fall through the cracks. I also had a bad experience as a result of either an uncaring or inept support staff (or both). I first had quick in-and-out x-rays on my knee done in their downstairs office then the doctor spoke with me about his son's basketball team for 5 minutes. A week later I arrived for my first PT evaluation and was told my appointment had been cancelled even though it was just made the week before. I was told I must have hit a wrong button when I got the reminder call, but I never received a reminder call. In other words, they blamed me for their mistake. No one was available to see me so I had to leave. With no apology. What a huge waste of time. The PT office upstairs is very large, very open and very impersonal. there were six elderly ladies sitting and waiting their turn to have their therapy in full view of everyone. They all looked very unhappy. The parking garage was overcrowded and the elevator was either slow or full or both. Not a great start for a new patient. I'll find another PT practice where people at least pretend to care. Here they don't. Maybe it's just the way healthcare is delivered today: like a factory. read more

For me this large practice represents one of the worst qualities of 21st century health care in the US: get 'em in, get 'em out. I had two very brief visits with an ankle specialist (MD) for my fractured fibula, which fortunately did not require surgery. The Dr. seemed in a hurry both times. I had to ask specifically if I could get a printout or website link to help me with at home care while on crutches, and then rehab exercises afterwards, but I was given neither and I had the impression it was an annoying question. Although I did not have waiting issues and the staff was friendly, I still would not choose to go here again. read more

I broke my foot in the arch very late on a Monday night. The next day, Tue, I went to the clinic at LMH. I used crutches I had which made a world of difference on how bad it got. They splinted my foot and told me make an appointment no later than Thur or Friday at Agility. I called when I got home and even though I explained I had a broken foot the girl who answered said the next appt wasn't until the NEXT FRIDAY (12 days from breaking it, only a splint) i told her I was told no later than Thur or Friday and she miraculously comes up with an appt on friday. I went for three visits, had x-rays each time to gauge my progress. The third visit was rescheduled but I only had to wait 4 days. I thankfully did not need surgery because I wore the boot, then transitioned out of the boot, did stretches, and did not overdo it over the span of 9 weeks. My only complaint is difficulty getting appointments and feeling like I was part of an assembly line, get em in, get em out! Place is definitely more a business and less a compassionate place of caring, they go through the motions but is doesn't seem genuine. That's me, I don't know how others felt. read more

Dealing with the doctor and PAs at this practice was nothing short of horrific. The only good part about this practice was the secretaries and nurses assistants. They were all extremely kind and helpful but unfortunately you can't choose a surgeon based off their staff. The issues came when I had to deal with Dr. Bienkowski and his PAs. Dr Bienkowski and his PA Tim Smith made my emergency elbow surgery an excruciating and scary experience. I was given no info before or after the surgery about what was done and how to care for it. Supposedly he talked to me after the surgery but I have no memory of it because I was clearly still coming out of the anesthesia. I was rushed out of the hospital, which was expected because of corona. I was given a discharge packet with no information on it. The surgery was done on a Friday so I could only get in contact with the on-call surgeon. I woke up the next day in unbearable pain despite the pain meds. My hand and fingers were so swollen I could not move them and I was throwing up and shaking constantly from the pain. I tried to talk to the on-call PA Tim Smith to see if this meant something was wrong and I should go to the ER and he was extremely rude and demeaning and told me that I should have expected the pain. Things got even worse because I was only given a two day supply of pain meds. So when they ran out I was in complete agony and again they refused to help me or give me any more information. My mother and I called them five separate times and got no help, it wasn't until my father talked to one of the PAs on the phone that I was able to get more medication. I've actually never before experienced such clear and obvious misogyny (I am a 23-year-old woman, not a child, so I don't usually have to have my father speak to doctors for me, this was a very unusual circumstance). I pushed through the pain and waited until my follow up five days later with Dr. Bienkowski. At my follow up he refused to address any of my questions or concerns. Took the cast off and squeezed my wrist so hard I screamed and pushed him off me. After that I was crying and he just tried to shove the x-rays in my face to show me what he did and tell me that he did everything right. No matter how many times I brought up my concerns about how I was treated he continued to just keep saying we need to make another appointment at which point I told him I would be seeing another doctor and wanted my medical records released. I am writing this review to try to help anyone else who might have to deal with these doctors. Please just go somewhere else. Even if you have to have emergency surgery, please demand another doctor. Please don't waste your time, they will only cause you more pain and suffering. read more

Agility Orthopedics has went in the wrong direction. They hired a new billing company called CPa medical billing. They tell you they will call you back but never do. You can send them proof from you're bank that you payed, but they can not find it. So I tried to go a different way by calling Agility, and was told the office manager will call me back and guess what, no call back. I want to pay my bill and be done with both of these places, but I afraid to pay and then not be credited for paying. Also my surgery on my shoulder did not end well at the hospital. Both surgeons could not be found and I could not be released for over an hour and a half. Meantime my poor wife was waiting outside wondering what the hell was going on. There is more to this story but that is for another day. I would think twice about using Agility if I were you. I will be using them anymore and I hope I get this bill payed read more

I work in healthcare and know it isn't perfect, but this was the worst experience I have ever had. The front desk staff were really rude to me when I went to the window to check in and told me to stand and wait by the guardrail they had up. There was no one waiting. I got roomed and the nurse (?) made assumptions about what the doctor would say to me. Then Dr. Waugh came in. He was very unkempt and the first thing out of his mouth was, "how do you feel about masks". I am a healthcare worker myself and have an infant at home so I said, "good, I would like to keep mine on". He answers, "ok, if you want, I want to give you permission to take it off". Then he examines my wrist and cracks some weird sexist jokes about "mom wrist" that I didn't find humorous. He just made me totally uncomfortable. I ended up with a cortisone shot, which helped for a month. I filed a complaint about his conduct and then got reshceduled with him AGAIN! Unfortunately I didn't remember his name. The second visit he insisted I needed surgery and that is my only option. Needless to say, I'm not going back there and if pain continues, I'll get a second opinion. Then the bill came! Before stating what it said, they don't have online bill pay at all! A line on the bill says "BMI above normal-education given" Umm, what?? BMI was never discussed nor should it have been because it is a wrist pain. This place absolutely disgusts me. read more

They were very accommodating to an elderly man I brought in to look at his shoulders. They allowed him to stay on stretcher from ambulance because movement was very painful for him. The ambulance was late both times which made him late for his appointments but they managed to work around that issue as well. The doctor and her staff explained everything they were doing. I went to Agility Orthopedics in July 2017 for a bump on the top of my foot, Dr Zahner looked at it and the x-rays and diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis and told me to get some inserts. The bump continued to grow into a 3-1/2" x 2" tumor, which I only found by going to a real doctor. I recently had surgery to remove it and thankfully it was not cancer. I would not recommend going to this practice! read more

I was seen in this office by Dr Anderson in January 2022 - was ordered an MRI at Shields on 1/28/22 - I have called & called this office to get the results of my MRI - no one calls me back - I know there is a pandemic however this was 3 weeks ago - this is the worst service I have ever received from any medical office. I called today for the 4th time & Jessica put me on hold for 20 minutes - then Velica took the call - now Kiley is on the phone ! My gosh this is so frustrating - now being transfered to the secretary - what is going on in this office ! I went to Dr. Yeh for my second shoulder repair and received outstanding service. I was apprehensive to go see another Dr. after my pain continued after my first surgery. This place is a meat market, The only thing they're worried about is the Insurance money & co payments. Doctor B. did not make any attempt to help but want you as a patient to come back often and most times don't even reexamine the issue for corrective measures. When I questioned the doctor I got the shoulder shrug. Really you're raking in the big bucks from insurance companies and keep dragging out patients for a huge revenue stream. People move on to a practice that actually cares about the patient and not the bottom line. I am done and moving on. read more

This place has recently changed their name to "Agility Orthopedics", which is the name that it used when I first started seeing them. I read the review of the woman that gave them a bad rating, and feel very sorry that she had to go through that. I also feel compelled to share my wonderful experience with this facility to help balance the scale. I had an awful experience with Excel Orthopedics for 3 years before I decided to give a different Orthopedic facility a chance. I will sum up my previous experience with Excel, by simply saying that the surgeon oveer there was very good and accurate about my injury. He told me I had a torn labrum in my hip, and would likely require surgery, but wanted me to try Physical Therapy first. After 8 sessions of PT with2 different therapists, who couldn't agree about my treatment, the lead therapist insisted I did not have any injury at all in my hip...my problem was in the way that I ran, and recommended I continue PT 2x a week for 2 more months. That would be a nice revenue enhancer for the company, leaving me and my insurance company to foot the bill. I endured severe pain for 3 years before leaving and trying Agility Orthopedics. The first doctor that examined me set me up with an MRI right away, which showed that I did have a torn labrum. They set me up immediately with a surgeon, Doctor Andersen. He was wonderful. He genuinely cared very much about making my injury better. He is a runner, like I am, and knew first-hand what it is like to want to get back out there. He set a surgery date that was convenient for me. My recovery was quick, and i started seeing the therapists at their office only after it was deemed that I needed to, and was discontinued when it was no longer needed. This compnay cares about their patients first, unlike Excel who care about money first. read more

I was given a cortisol shot and was up all night with this pain and trying to get a hold of them by listening appreciate you holding. This place is ridiculous especially Daniel Bienkowski. Ankle sprain (major). Conservative treatment w PT. Didn't heal. Switched doctors at Agility to Dr Andersen and he made more comprehensive diagnosis. Definitely knows his stuff and I wish I had switched to him sooner. He performed my ankle arthroscopy 9 months after the initial injury. I returned to him for a shoulder injury. I trust him. He has great 'bedside manner' and has seen all types of injuries. He is confident without being arrogant or aggressive with treatment. Highly recommend Dr Andersen! 5 stars for Dr Andersen but 4 stars for Agility overall because the first doctor was not as good. I felt like my pain went on too long before being recommended to Dr Andersen. read more

zero stars, i went here for a gym injury, in which i knew was a chest tendon tear or rupture, i had no elasticity in the chest tendon, they just kept doing MRI's of my shoulder, i had to fight with them for 8 years, they had me see 6 different specialists at agility over this time, the bodybuilding was my life and i was already in my 30s, so after all this time and half a decade of rehab with zero results, ive finally gone to another place which listened to me on the first visit, sure enough it is a chest tendon tear, which is now healed wrong from them never listening to me, i would never consider this place, they ruined close to a decade of my life that i can never get back now im 42 having to do a major surgery rather than early 30s, this has destroyed my gym career, but they didnt seem to care about that to begin with, all i got from them is, have you tried riding a bicycle, like that could maje up for bodybuilding. they had no desire to help, i even got comments like, it could be in your head, ive heard of being conservative with surgery, but they outright refused to look at the area that was bothering me, they just milked my insurance and never wanted to listen to me. in the end i was right it was a chest tendon tear, but this is no win for me after close to a decade of there incompetence read more

Dr. Zahner was extremely dismissive of me. I don't know if he's always like this or if he was having a bad day, but I got a sort of misogynistic vibe from him and I left in tears. He did identify two pieces of the problem, but missed the rest, likely because he got upset when I repeated what my doctor told me about what might have happened with my knee because he thought I was diagnosing myself. I would not go back. If you are male or have a simple problem, you might have better luck. read more

I visited this practice for ongoing hip pain. Dr. Zahner took an X-ray, determined the issue, treated it with cortisone and I've been 100% since. It's a very busy practice however the front office staff is on top of things. There was not a lot of waiting or time lost. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Agility. read more

Just called to cancel an appointment as I was instructed to do so if feeling better. Receptionist Bonnie was extremely rude.

I had a severe pain in my ankle. I was examined by Evan J. Zahner. Three xrays were taken. Dr. Zahner said nothing showed in the xrays. I had to ask him to examine my ankle which he did reluctantly. He couldn't come up with an explanation but said it could be inflamed. He gave me an orthopedic boot ($350) to cover my ankle and to come back in 2 weeks. After wearing the boot for 2 days the pain grew worse. I made an appt. with Excel Orthopedics, Dr. Kozanek. He took 7xrays and said that I had a stress fracture in my ankle . He examined my foot thoroughly. He gave me a boot that came up to my knee which I have used for 6 weeks and the pain has reduced. I showed him the boot that Dr.Zahner gave me and he said that it probably made things worse. Dr.Zahner had little interest in my pain and did not see the fracture that was obviously there. read more

Let me just say that when I came to meet the staff at Agility Orthopedic I was jaded to say the least. You see, I'm a veteran that has been dealing with a ankle injury for over 20 years. I had All but given up. And, from dealing with the VA. I didn't expect much from Dr. Nadaud, his highly skill PA Jennifer or anyone else on staff at Agility Orthopedic's. However, I must admit. I couldn't have been more wrong. These professionals proved to have endless patience and compassion in dealing with my situation. Thank God for people like these that choose to help veterans in need. Usually knowing that they are inheriting a patient that has been misdiagnosed, mistreated and frustrated. This team fought for me from beginning to end. I highly recommend seeking them out for any of your orthopedic needs. Especially if your a disgruntled veteran untrusting of the whole medical system like I was. Thank you doctor (As well as Jennifer & the whole staff) Please continue doing the important work you all do. You are making a difference in people's lives. I know you made a huge difference in mine.
