Audio Concepts was the second shop I contacted about replacing my older 2 channel dashcam with a new one. It should have been my first shop. The work was done cleanly, they were able to not only remove the entirety of the previous installation components but also properly reinstal some of the trim the previous installer left loose and sticking out. After a quick call to confirm the placement of the dashcam so it doesn't interfere with the rearview mirror, they went to work and got everything done on time and for a great price. Just for record, the dashcam taken out was Thinkware 770 and the one installed was A229 Plus. Now I once again have a peace of mind, thanks to Audio Concepts! read more

Walked in asking about adding Apple CarPlay to some older cars and was quickly dismissed by the big dude in the front say there is nothing compatible. When I responded that I have already installed an Apple CarPlay to one of my cars, he changed his tune. I just wanted to compare what they have vs what I installed and clearly my unit was better and an easy diy. This shop wanted over $800 for something I did myself in a couple of hours. Wake up people! You can add Apple CarPlay yourself and stop going to these out dated stereo shops. These shops will eventually die out like frys and RadioShack. read more

My simple advice: Go to Audio Concepts first for any car stereo work. Owner/manager Jose is very knowledgable, helpful, and friendly.

have been wanting a full sound system for my 4 runner since I got it. Anyone I asked for who to go to led me here! Audio Concepts! I got a 9 speaker system double amped. Kickers for the doors and a 10 inch JL sub for the back, they also did sound dampening material in all my doors and the lift gate. The work was amazing!!!! Crystal clear audio that hits hard! I can blow my ears out or have it low and clear as water when I have my kid with me. The crew was extremely professional and did the whole job in 1 day!!!! They made sure I was extremely happy before I left! FYI the sound dampening material made the road noise cut in half! In my opinion just that is worth this 5 star! Any who! If you need quality work with some great people come here! read more

Polite, professional and honest service. During my first visit, I took my car into have my sound system (which I purchased & had installed at a different business outside of Simi Valley) repaired. The initial estimate was two hours of labor to isolate the fault & repair. Ramone notified me that the labor was only one hour and reduced my bill. Second visit: Took my truck in to have sound system installed. Purchased a high end system. Ramone provided a recommendation regarding the sound system and my final bill was significantly reduced. The quality of the work was exceptional. I spoke with the owner (Jose) when I picked up my truck & thanked him for absolutely outstanding service. Audio Concepts in Simi Valley is an honest customer centric business that provides high quality customer service at great prices. They have earned my repeat business. I highly recommend this business if you require a quality sound system for your ride. Jose & Ramone - Thank you. read more

Great backup camera installation, fair pricing, and fast service. Highly recommend, will come back for additional work

I called to get a quote on a Toyota Prius Radio installation. I was quoted a ridiculous price just for install. The gentleman said it would take about 3 to 4 hours and their price is $120 per hour. Woow. Not way. Too expensive. read more

My visit to Audio Concepts was to replace my stock unit/and an aftermarket processor with a Kenwood Excelon. The head unit I purchased from them and had installed has been problematic from the beginning. After taking the truck to another installer I found out that rather than using the appropriate mounting kit that they simply shoved it into place and retained it ( barely ) with the stereos bezel. I mentioned that the problem I was encountering with the stock unit and the aftermarket processor may need trouble shooting. They wrote up one hours labor for my request. It turned out that they didn't have to trouble shoot anything, after replacing the head unit. The owner admittedly said there was no trouble shooting necessary I was still charged for the hour they didn't spend troubleshooting......anything. I didn't notice this until later on. I was so disappointed that I didn't bother returning to them for fear of a similar job. Keep looking. read more

These guys are simply the best in Simi if not the area. Brought my Jeep in with some seriously busted speakers and an old radio. They hooked up new speakers and did a super clean install, got me an android auto head unit, backup camera installed all in a couple hours. Highly highly recommend. Good value, honest work. read more

I wanted a modern touch screen stereo installed into an older vehicle (1993 Ford Bronco). Went to audio concepts and they recommended the Sony XAV-AX4000. This required a dash modification to fit the double din stereo. While they were at it, they also installed a backup camera. They were professional and the installation looks and sounds great. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Jose and his team did a great job! We wanted a new radio/NAV system for our RV. Jose helped me find the perfect fit for exactly what we were looking for. Excellent communication. They installed it promptly and professionally. We will be back! read more

They admitted to me that they had the gain turned up too high on the amp they put in my car which cause my sub to blow after just a week. They told me I had to buy a new sub and they'll put it in for free even though they broke the one i had personally gave them to put in my car. Soon after I actually needed to get the sound system taken out of the car to sell it. So I had asked them to take it out and they did but they didnt give me the wire that I paid for. I dont think they use an oscilloscope to test the signals after its all hooked up because if they did then they would have seen the signal clipping. read more

Super awesome owner and staff. Such a great experience. I definitely recommend for anyone looking to customize any vehicle. Thank me late!

There's a reason why this place has been in business so long. I am a longtime Simi Valley resident and small business owner. The owner Jose is a straight shooter, always professional, honest and thorough at his craft. I have been bringing my cars here for various needs for the past 10 or so years. You get what you pay for with this type of service. Jose did an excellent job on all of my cars and this is my go to for all my stereo and alarm needs. I guess Im a customer for life now. Thank you for your honesty and excellent work! read more

Ramon helped resolve a challenge with the stereo in our RV by troubleshooting and not selling us inot an expensive new system. We appreciate his professionalism and integrity. They did the work timely as promised and without any vait and switch tactics. We will likely return when we are ready to upgrade our TV system and rearview camera in our RV. read more

Audio concepts is excellent. I bought in a jeep with a cheap back up camera that stopped working because of a short in the wiring. They ordered a high quality camera, installed it, re wired it to the stereo fast and efficient. They charged $100 less than I expected while being the kind of person you would want to hang out with. I've been there years ago with a Rhino stereo installation and they did a great job then too. I will be back! read more

So I've lived in Simi Valley for 30 years. Only about 2 miles away from audio concepts. I went in there one time maybe 12 years ago and I didn't get the warm and fuzzy's. Hey stuff happens. I went in Saturday morning and the owner was setting up. I was there about 10 minutes before they open but he right away said can I help you! So I had no intentions of spending the money that I spent but his confidence in his ability made me do so. Dropped my car off at 10 AM it was ready by 3:30 PM. I replaced everything in the car, the head unit all the speakers and added a subwoofer. all of my steering wheel controls tied in to the new system and the sound is impeccable. It wasn't cheap but the quality is supreme. My daughters been bugging me for a system at least now I know where I'm gonna go when I finally caved in. read more

Fantastic little shop in the heart of Simi Valley...These guys took great care of me when my car needed a new replacement receiver. Friendly, quick and excellent work! Thanks again read more

Jose and his team really stepped up their game this time. I've been a loyal customer for years because their work is second to none. I bought a new truck and had a rattle under the dash that was driving me crazy! Two shops said they "fixed" it when in reality it was still there. Needless to say, Jose found the problem and the rattle is gone. I knew he was the perfect guy for the job. Couldn't be happier with my new stereo and the time that was spent in fixing the unrelated rattle. Thanks Audio Concepts! read more

These guys are always busy for a reason, they do excellent car audio work. I like that the person you speak to in the shop or on the phone is performing the work. Definitely recommend them for simple jobs like back up cameras and complex audiophile grade projects. read more

After many trips to Neftin VW (see my review), I took my daughters car to Justin at Audio Concepts to see if he could resolve a rattle/buzz in the drivers door of my daughters new Jetta. VW's answer was "all our cars with the Fender audio have this problem". Justin took a look at it and said "no problem" and he delivered. We can now enjoy the car as it should be! Have been going into the audio concepts store once a month for the last year and typically the employees have been really nice however my trip yesterday changed all that. The young caucasion guy (unfortunately forgot his name) was absolutely horrible! Extremely rude, inconsiderate and had terrible service. It's a little confusing how he even received his job. I will never do business with this place again do to him nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. This guys going to ruin your business. read more

I have been doing business with audio concepts for almost 12 years. Everything from needing small stuff like rca cables or a harness to full blown custom installs and fabrication. For my latest need in my dodge charger they built an insane 4th order box for my w7. Notched a port through my deck and built an awesome wall in the trunk to hide it and built an amp rack into my floor. Everything turned out awesome. I gave them my budget and they did above and beyond what I expected for the money I had. I have never had an issue with any work jose and his crew have done and even if I did they would stand behind it! Dont hesistate to use these guys they are an honest and fair family owned business and are passionate about what they do read more

Just had my third full vehicle sound system installation by them. (Also had Alarms installed) I can't say enough great things about these guys. Jose and Justin are always friendly and happy to answer any questions I have. Never pushy or trying to sell you on anything. I had a particular budget to work with and Jose made sure I got the best bang for my buck. My latest build was tricky with the amount of space they were working with in order to fit a JL 10W6v3 behind my Tundra Crew Max rear seats without losing any leg room. (The seat only needed to move forward a tiny bit) The custom fiberglass box Jose fabricated was beyond my expectations. Super clean work and it sounds incredible. I like the fact that they take their time to make sure everything is perfect. It's obvious they take a lot of pride in the work they do. That's hard to find these days. Overall I couldn't be happier! Thanks guys! read more

Best car audio shop in California period.

My son asked for a car audio system for Christmas and seeing I know nothing about this field, we came here on recommendation. We were in, set an appointment and out in a few minutes. My son dropped his car off later that week and a few hours later he was disturbing the peace and listening to Mumble Rap. They were fast and delivered as promised. Can't complain. read more

Spent a good amount to get a nice sub setup installed. I would say that everything went fine other than an issue with not knowing that the sub wasn't mounted. When I told them that I was disappointed and that I had the expectation that it would be secured they took care of business. They helped adjust the sound to my liking as well as I was going for more sound quality than output. They don't sugarcoat things though, which is good. Now it's meeting my expectations and I'm happy with how the sound fills out my cabin. I checked on the connection points and wiring and everything looks done really nicely. I learned a lot through the process, which at the end of the day is all that matters. read more
