Audio Concepts was the second shop I contacted about replacing my older 2 channel dashcam with a new one. It should have been my first shop. The work was done cleanly, they were able to not only remove the entirety of the previous installation components but also properly reinstal some of the trim the previous installer left loose and sticking out. After a quick call to confirm the placement of the dashcam so it doesn't interfere with the rearview mirror, they went to work and got everything done on time and for a great price. Walked in asking about adding Apple CarPlay to some older cars and was quickly dismissed by the big dude in the front say there is nothing compatible. When I responded that I have already installed an Apple CarPlay to one of my cars, he changed his tune. I just wanted to compare what they have vs what I installed and clearly my unit was better and an easy diy. This shop wanted over $800 for something I did myself in a couple of hours. Wake up people! You can add Apple CarPlay yourself and stop going to these out dated stereo shops. These shops will eventually die out like frys and RadioShack. read more

My visit to Audio Concepts was to replace my stock unit/and an aftermarket processor with a Kenwood Excelon. The head unit I purchased from them and had installed has been problematic from the beginning. After taking the truck to another installer I found out that rather than using the appropriate mounting kit that they simply shoved it into place and retained it ( barely ) with the stereos bezel. I mentioned that the problem I was encountering with the stock unit and the aftermarket processor may need trouble shooting. They wrote up one hours labor for my request. It turned out that they didn't have to trouble shoot anything, after replacing the head unit. The owner admittedly said there was no trouble shooting necessary I was still charged for the hour they didn't spend troubleshooting......anything. I didn't notice this until later on. I was so disappointed that I didn't bother returning to them for fear of a similar job. Keep looking. read more

They admitted to me that they had the gain turned up too high on the amp they put in my car which cause my sub to blow after just a week. They told me I had to buy a new sub and they'll put it in for free even though they broke the one i had personally gave them to put in my car. Soon after I actually needed to get the sound system taken out of the car to sell it. So I had asked them to take it out and they did but they didnt give me the wire that I paid for. I dont think they use an oscilloscope to test the signals after its all hooked up because if they did then they would have seen the signal clipping. read more

I wanted a modern touch screen stereo installed into an older vehicle (1993 Ford Bronco). Went to audio concepts and they recommended the Sony XAV-AX4000. This required a dash modification to fit the double din stereo. While they were at it, they also installed a backup camera. They were professional and the installation looks and sounds great. So I've lived in Simi Valley for 30 years. Only about 2 miles away from audio concepts. I went in there one time maybe 12 years ago and I didn't get the warm and fuzzy's. Hey stuff happens. I went in Saturday morning and the owner was setting up. I was there about 10 minutes before they open but he right away said can I help you! So I had no intentions of spending the money that I spent but his confidence in his ability made me do so. Dropped my car off at 10 AM it was ready by 3:30 PM. I replaced everything in the car, the head unit all the speakers and added a subwoofer. all of my steering wheel controls tied in to the new system and the sound is impeccable. They ordered a high quality camera, installed it, re wired it to the stereo fast and efficient. They charged $100 less than I expected while being the kind of person you would want to hang out with. Just had my third full vehicle sound system installation by them. (Also had Alarms installed) I can't say enough great things about these guys. Jose and Justin are always friendly and happy to answer any questions I have. Never pushy or trying to sell you on anything. I had a particular budget to work with and Jose made sure I got the best bang for my buck. My latest build was tricky with the amount of space they were working with in order to fit a JL 10W6v3 behind my Tundra Crew Max rear seats without losing any leg room. (The seat only needed to move forward a tiny bit) The custom fiberglass box Jose fabricated was beyond my expectations. Super clean work and it sounds incredible. Spent a good amount to get a nice sub setup installed. I would say that everything went fine other than an issue with not knowing that the sub wasn't mounted. When I told them that I was disappointed and that I had the expectation that it would be secured they took care of business. They helped adjust the sound to my liking as well as I was going for more sound quality than output. They don't sugarcoat things though, which is good. Now it's meeting my expectations and I'm happy with how the sound fills out my cabin. I checked on the connection points and wiring and everything looks done really nicely. They are the best! We had "bad buy" install a new radio/head unit in our truck. When my husband picked it up, he couldn't believe how sloppy the work was. They cut too much of our dash- you could see the inside of the dash! That night, I called Audio Concepts and Ramon got us in first thing in the morning! They pulled the unit out and cleaned up the "rats nest" of wires, properly connected the cables to the steering wheel controls and fit the radio/head unit properly in the dash.
