I came in with a few vehicles from their website that I wanted to see. I was immediately told that those weren't available because they can't keep the website updated as fast as they sell cars. They are too good for that he says. So after another 10 mins of me asking questions and the sales guy asking the finance guy for answers, we settled on 2 other vehicles I might be interested in. That was the last I heard from him. He said he was going To get the keys so we could look. I sat there for 20 mins, listened to 3 other sales guys tell their horror stories of customers for the day, I walked around the floor for another 10 mins and took a couple notes. In total, I was there just under an hour and I never actually got to look at anything I was interested in. I have to say I am an avid car buyer, usually used cars 2-3 years old. I have 3 kids, wife, and over the last 20 years have bought and sold personally over 20 cars. Many from CarMax, a few from some new car dealers. Why the most from CarMax, because I did not realize that the service level and people of Silver Spring Audi existed! There GM, their Finance people, (Serghei) sales, (Eric)and above all else their service Manager Christian Fotos-Lawton cannot be topped! What makes them so great. What makes a dealership great is how they deal with problems. That's when you learn who they are! I had 2 issues after buying the car. No fault of theirs. However there were issues involving $1,000's of dollars. They could have punted, but they did just the opposite in fact they went above and beyond and exceed my expectations in resolving my issues. The culture of the firm comes no doubt from the top down when 3 different people in 3 departments all treat you well and have a goal to turn a frown upside down! I will leave with this! If they are even close to the price you want buy it. If they are too far drive it! You will save and or make up for any travel time in their customer service and insuring of customer satisfaction when YOU NEED IT! or IF THERE IS A PROBLEM! These guys are amazing! I was driving cross country and heard some noise near my axle. Was concerned about safety so I stopped by. They checked it out, tightened the screws and inspected my car and assured me that it was safe to drive. They even washed my car and didn't charge me a penny. Called concerning a basic audi part and the parts department was the rudest I've ever seen (John and Jason)! They refused to give me the price to a common trunk part (striker plate) without giving a VIN number. Provided them both with the make model and year of the car which is enough to look up the part! What an inconvenience if I'm at work and the car is at home! Called Audi of Annapolis and had no problem finding the correct part and ordering it over the phone in 10 minutes. read more

Sales is 5 stars. First Audi purchase was in 2006 back when it was Tischer Audi then another in 2011 and I would buy from Tom Schweiss over and over for his knowledge on the 4 ring brand and easy to talk to demeanor. Brought car in on 6/26 for a rear brake job and steering diagnosis for off-center steering wheel for wheel alignment. Got the car back Friday 7/5 and alignment was performed but steering wheel is still to the same slight right position. Called service at 0800 on 7/6 and they told me to come by Monday morning and the advisers will be aware of the situation. Came in on 7/8 at 0745 and none of them knew of my persistent issue. By 0830, they were able to get a tech to drive it out and say the alignment is "within spec" but the steering wheel is off center and they'd need to bring it back in... service adviser can only schedule me for 7/26 at the earliest. So possibly over a month to bring the car in for the same issue and have to come back 3 separate times before it's even fixed. *Edit 7/12/19* Julie Yoo, my usual service adviser called me the next day (7/9) to apologize for the lack of communication from Saturday's team and was able to bring me in Wednesday morning to drop off and pick up another loaner. Evan Singham the service manager reached out to me Thursday (7/10) to follow up after returning from vacation and apologized again for the mishap about Saturday and assured it was a learning experience for the service team. He worked with me to keep the technician redoing the alignment on my car and made time today for me to come out and test drive it with him to make sure everything was copacetic. He also explained some technical aspects with my specific vehicle that can pose challenges with his technicians but helped me out with compensation for the mishap this week. Overall, Audi Silver Spring is an excellent dealer in the DMV for those looking to get into the 4 ring brand and as long as you communicate to your salesperson and the service team, you will get taken care of with top notch professional care. read more

This was the best $250 I ever spent! I made an appointment with Audi of Silver Spring to have a car I purchased at CarMax inspected. CarMax gives you 5 days to return the car. When I called to make the appointment, I was told that the first appointment would be 6 days after I purchased the car. When I explained my predicament, they were able to squeeze me in the next day. When I arrived, Philip took care of us. He explained that they would perform a used-car inspection and told us what that involved and the cost for the service. When the car was ready, they went over the report which found damage to the radiator, the radiator support and the oil pan. They gave us the estimates to repair the damage along with pictures we took back to CarMax. I can't say enough good things from scheduling the appointment, to drop off and to pick up. I'm hoping that the damage will be fixed and that I will be able to keep the car. If so, I will definitely be returning to have my car serviced by this dealer. Thanks! read more

Just finished with our first service appointment and I can say that this dealership may come across smooth, but they're dysfunctional under the surface. Our problems started with the purchase of Q3 a couple of months ago. My wife wanted to replace her old Acura with a smaller SUV and the Q3 seemed to be the right option for her. Stopped into the Silver Spring dealership and we were able to get a car for a test drive fairly easily. During our discussions, they offered us a Certified Pre-Owned option that was exactly what she was looking for. It was a loaner so not available to see but the sales person promised it would be available in a few days so we negotiated a tentative deal and left a deposit pending the opportunity top see the vehicle. No call for three days until we contacted the salesman who set up a date on a Saturday for us to come in...acted like he was doing us a favor. We show up at the scheduled time...and no car. The salesman was a part-timer (so he claimed) who had come in on his day off to help us out...again he's doing us a favor by doing his job. Turns out the car hasn't been cleaned and it takes us 2 hours to see the car. By this time, the salesman could care less if we walk out the door. After talking to the manager, we are switched to another sales person who is actually pleasant and informative. There's a dent that needs to be fixed and we bought the up-sale for the fabric/paint protection...both of which will be taken care of on the first service..."It's right here in the records." All in all, we spent 3 1/2 hours at the dealership for something that should have been done in 60 minutes. Hell, we paid cash so we didn't even have to sit through the financing. Jump to the first service appointment. It was impossible to actually call and schedule an appointment when you keep getting pushed to voicemail and they don't call back. Finally, we reach someone in service who can't find any record of the work that was supposed to be done during the first service visit so we get transferred. Now begins a series of calls (about 8 in total) where we get left on hold, cutoff, or sent to voicemail. Finally, someone took responsibility and got the appointment scheduled. To get the dent fixed we had to make special arrangements to be able to have it there on Monday...the day the dent guy is available. Otherwise, it was just routine maintenance. Now it's Monday at 7:30 PM right before they close. My wife arrives to find the dent guy didn't come in today and has to reschedule...plus they can't find the paperwork after they've had the car all day. As you can see, totally unimpressive service from sales to service. read more

Had an Audi Q7 that was seven years old with 700000 miles. Had it serviced exclusively at Audi Silver Spring. July 2021, I was driving to upstate new york when car died on the side of the road. Had to tow it to Audi in Albany. I was then told that the engine had overheated (no light came on), and that the engine was severely damaged with multiple holes in the engine and I needed a completely new engine that would cost over 25K. Called Audi Silver Spring and dealt with Dimitra Anastasopoulous and Evan Singham. I had dealt with them multiple times over the prior seven years. They were helpful when they were getting paid for the servicing over the prior seven years but then completely unhelpful when car broke down. They told me initially it was not their problem and that I had to deal with Audi in Albany. Overall, they were very unhelpful. Did not facilitate at all discussions with Audi head office as to why this should have happened. They acknowledged that this should not have happened and said it was off warranty and that there was little they could do. Only person in all of Audi that was helpful was general manager at Albany Audi Rick Waldring. He tried to help us negotiate and at least expressed empathy and acknowledged that this should not have happened. Bottom line of how this "defective car" was handled was that Audi told me that I could pay 25000 for new engine or they would pay us about 2000 to scrap the parts even though they acknowledged that this should never have happened with the limited mileage I had and the fact that I had religiously serviced the car at Audi SIlver Spring. I ended up scrapping the car. I will never buy an Audi again. read more

I had a horrible experience working with Parnie. I did the legwork for him, put a deal together. He then led me to a wrong vehicle. Told me I could not get the discounts I was asking for. Little did he know, that I already had a vehicle in mind or could find one easily with the discount, a quattro trim (he kept trying to sell me a FWD), with a Vin#, and a price that I was willing to pay, that he said was out of the realm. Don't even think about it. Take to Audi of Alexandria, if you have to. Audi of Silver Spring don't even know your Audi. I took in for servicing and they ended up putting 5W30 engine oil in my car. This, after me informing the service dept guy about it, as he had no idea what oil they put in Audi. He ended up consulting his computer and telling it is 5W30, which is wrong. If you know your Audi, you know that in summers you put 5W40 and 0W40 in winters. I am surprised that even the dealer is not aware of the specs. Of course, as I was expecting, they ended up putting 5W30(which is more suitable for BMW, btw.) when I saw the notes on my final paperwork, the supervisor confirmed that they put 5W40, but err'd on the paper work. I don't think so, and I will stay away from this dealer. I ended up paying for another engine oil change within a week. read more

The only Audi dealership in the DMV that is ran by gear heads. I trust them with my car and they understand car enthusiasts as they are one. They go the way extra mile with you on everything, you ask for a service you get a free interior/exterior car wash. You go in for a check engine sign, and they even check your paddle shifters if they work or not and have them replaced. Not only that, but they are mod friendly and they even give you advice on what not to install when it comes to after market stuff. I love my SA Diego and of course the service manager Evan. So Audi of Arlington for some reason could not get my car to align. After being fed up for a 3rd trip I decided to go to another dealer. I drove to Tysons and they could not fit me in. Then I called over to Audi of Silver Spring due to the high ratings on Yelp. It is definitely earned. While smaller than Audi of Arlington, they were able to fit my car in on a Saturday at 12:30 (after calling at 10am). Not only did they finally get the car right (and on the first try!), they were very cordial and quick. The service manager was really good, and the shop foreman took care of my car. Even the service advisor was hands on and she was clearly really into Audi. I really like these guys, and felt like they got a full understanding of what I do with my car, and what my needs are. I'll be back for service here as long as this keeps up. I would drive the 20 miles just to know my car will be done right. They even participate in the Audi Club discount program! read more

i know 5 star reviews are taken with a grain of salt. My experience here compared to EVERY other dealership experience definitely deserves that rating though. I've taken my car here for the last year to get serviced. Not once have I ran into any type of customer service issue. I expect car service or repairs to take time since I want the mechanic to do their work accurately. If it takes a week, great!, they've always put me in a loaner for that time period. Service definitely gets an A+, mainly due to Aaron's help in handling issues but also due to their quality. We just purchased a 2014 SQ5 from this dealer too. The purchasing process was extremely painLESS. I knew which car I wanted, I looked around at other dealers, I even got a quote from another. Silver spring Audi actually ASKED what I wanted to pay and met the other dealer's quoted cost saving me from having to drive north of Baltimore. Vincent was cordial and Frank was very straight forward, two qualities I need when I spending that kind of money. Although we walked in without an appointment, and we explained this to the lady who greeted us at the front desk, she managed to find someone to show us around. The sales man we got assigned (rich) was pretty rude to my husband, we found him to be difficult to deal with, he wanted to go through a set sales man protocol, rather than answer our questions and work around what we wanted. He made us feel like we were wasting his time, and that we should go back to NOVA, we explained that we had originally come to see a car at another dealership and had decided to stop by at this Audi as it was nearby, but I'm not sure he understood or believed us. He was also really slow, at letting us have a look at the vehicles we were interested in, and on a hot Saturday morning, my toddler was getting frustrated. After waiting quite a while, out in the hot sun for a car to appear to test drive, we decided to cut our losses and move on, and I'm glad we did, as we found our now dream car at Rockville Audi. read more

One thing that I like right away is how they spell out everything and price it all out, and then tell you what needs work now and what can wait. So I don't leave a lot of Yelp reviews. I write one when I feel people or teams of people can learn from balls being dropped. I purchased a used car from this dealership. Upon receiving the car after paperwork was finished, the car needed gas, not a half a tank, I needed to drive immediately to a gas station because the light was already on. I've bought many cars in my life and never have I been given keys with an empty tank, not ever. Strike 1. I drive home, park, and my tire pressure light comes on. Great. They said they had fixed the tire problems but I guess not. Strike 2 The next day I start the car and the engine oil indicator message tells me I have 25% oil life left. Clearly they did nothing to service the car between seller and buyer. Strike 3 I paid them to do my registration and title. I get a text from DC saying that they can't process my registration because of an unpaid parking ticket, just 1, but it held up the process. Why did the dealership not know this had been happening? I'm alerted while out of town 6 days before the registration given to me by the dealership expired. So after spending 3 hours at the DMV to find this out I had to drive all the way back to the dealership to get a 30 day extension. No apologies, nothing even close to an attempt to make it up to me. No free oil change, no tank of gas, nada. Maybe it's because I didn't buy a brand new 60k+ Audi? New or used, buy somewhere else, customer service is terrible, 0 $hit$ given!! read more

I stopped into Audi Silver Spring this past weekend while my other car was getting serviced. I was greeted by Hayley (which was surprising, I usually roam around the lot without anyone helping me until I get frustrated enough I leave) and took the new Q5 for a test-drive. The experience was great, until we returned to the dealership. We followed Hayley into the dealership where we were offered a "seat" and something to drink. Having gone through this drill quite a bit, I told her I needed to get back to my car that was finished its service. I told her what I was looking for in the new Q5 and asked her for her to send details on the car they have in stock and their best cash price. After a few exchanges and snarky comments from her ("Do you own any other luxury cars?" ... aka, can you afford an Audi, followed by "Well, you're always going to get the best price when you are ready to buy") ... excuse me?? I went on a test drive and am asking you for your best CASH price because I can't afford or not ready to buy? I enjoy wasting my own time apparently... noted, Audi Silver Spring, though, Criswell Audi Annapolis seems to disagree with you. The best part is, I had all my service done at Silver Spring for my last Audi AND I purchased a used Tahoe not more than a few years ago. Clearly, that's all irrelevant. Next time a "young kid" walks on your lot maybe you should treat them like a person instead of someone there to waste your time. Anyone can afford a nice car, especially when they're asking you to not waste their or your time ... give me your best cash price and sell a car. My husband took his car in to get his maintenance service done at 9am. They were nice enough to give him a rental car for the couple of hours he didn't have his car. Around 11:30am, the service people called him to go pick up his car since it was done. He got there and audi said ohh your car is in the wash, it'll be a few minutes. A few minutes turned into an hour of waiting. WTF??? SO you call to tell him the car is done, yet you asses make him wait a fucking hour for a car wash. When he finally does get the car, and gets home, the engine lights comes on. He takes it back, he's tells them engine light is on, fix it. By this time, we're extremely pissed off and around 2:00pm. Come to find out someone didn't tighten something in the engine and they forgot to reset the engine light. read more

Um Did You Forget Me? Labor Day 2018 I bought the Audi A8L from another dealer based on inventory. Within 2 weeks of purchase, I decided to have my vehicle serviced at the Silver Spring location. Upon my 1st visit I ordered a repair for a door ding and touch up paint, which I paid for that day. Regarding the requested repair to the door ding, my rep said she'd have to coordinate it with the rep who travels to their location on certain days to do such repairs. She said she would reach out to him and call me back with a day and time. I had to call her multiple times over the next few weeks to get a date because she never called me to arrange it. So the door ding was eventually fixed. Here we are in April though, I've been there 3x now, and still no paint to touch up where they fixed my door ding. Let's talk about this 3rd time there, which was this week. I had a recall on my car and made an appointment to drop off my vehicle and I reserved a loaner car. I was running behind and called to let them know I would be about 45 minutes late and not to give away my car. I was put on a long hold and told they'd make an exception this time but they only hold loaners for 30 minutes. REALLY??? I wasn't a no show, I called you to let you know I was in route so you'd give away my RESERVED loaner...Why Exactly? Anyway, upon arrival I couldn't locate my drivers license. I left it in my other wallet in my other car. They would not allow me to have a loaner though I had a photo of my license that I keep on my phone in case I ever lost my ID I'd at least know my license#. Ok. so, I get they wouldn't give me a loaner with only a picture of my license; HOWEVER, they offered to bring a loaner to my home the next day and take my car with them back to the dealer. Well that was Monday and today is Thursday. Hence, the title to this review "Um Did You Forget Me?" They lost ALL future business from me. And if you're reading this, credit me back for the paint that I never received. Note: Dimitra is my assigned Service Manager and who I ordered the paint through. Peter is the Service Manager that was helping me when I went in this week and who offered to deliver a loaner car to me the next day. 2 Employees while both very personable while there gave me 2 Experiences that have left me very unimpressed with overall customer service, especially for a luxury brand. read more

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY at AUDI SILVER SPRING I took my 2009 Audi A6 in for an oil change before taking a road trip on Labor Day Weekend 2012. I also wanted to get my key fob battery changed, and pick up a new key chain. Pretty simple stuff... that turned into a total violation of trust. In order of increasing degrees of three card Monte behavior: 1. Key Chain - I decided to purchase an Audi key chain and they tried to overcharge me by an additional $10. I had them remove the charge. 2. Key Fob - With the new battery, the key fob didn't work properly. The service rep informed me that they wanted to program the key ($125) as there appeared to be an issue. If it didn't accept the programming I would need to buy a new key ($170). I agreed. The programming was not accepted and they ordered a new key. However they charged me for a programming of the key that did not take effect. This isn't like hoisting an engine into a car. It is connecting key to computer. They should charge for programming when they have actually programmed a key, after the new one arrived. They pre-charged me. This is not bad enough on its own, but in the context of all the behavior I witnessed on my visit to Audi Silver Spring, it reveals a shady philosophy for dealing with customers, "get their money any way you can." 3. Swapping my latest version Navigation DVD with a copy of a earlier version - After the oil change and carwash my car was returned to me. When I drove off the lot, I notice that stuff was rolling around in my trunk, when it was not when I drive on to the lot. It turns out that the dealer went into my trunck and swapped my new Navigation DVD for a copy of an earlier version, complete with a handwritten label on the disk. Unfortunately, it was not clear to me until my family and I were on the highway to our weekend destination and the navigation system begun having disk errors. Something my wife and I had ever witnessed, since we had the factory model installed a year ago. I had to go to the navigation system in my trunk, while at the side of a busy highway, to realize we had been robbed by Audi Silver Spring. When I spoke to the staff they deflected to the service manager, Michael Cohen, who offered to pay half because I could not prove his staff did it. GM Joe Gordon, would not return my call. Mind you, no one goes to a dealer for them to create problems and charges. Thinking the better of it, I filed a police report instead of financing the dealer's criminal activity. A week later I am thinking I should get my oil checked. After all, Audi Silver Spring managed to fail us with all of the other opportunities to provide us with simple service. read more

All of our problems were with the finance department at this dealership. We purchased a Toyota from this dealership. Because they said they have a Toyota dealership under their company umbrella, we did not think buying a Toyota from an Audi dealer was a problem. Our sales person, Isaiah, was great. He gave us a good deal on the car and he was not overselling anything, so we felt very comfortable with him. Then he turned us over to their finance department and that is when everything started to go wrong. We paid everything in cash, so all we needed was some paperwork from them to be able to title and register our car in Virginia. First, they did not tell us that we needed the physical paper title to take to the DMV. So, we wasted an initial trip to the DMV. Then, they sent us a single title. We took that title to the DMV and we were told that the previous owner had a lien on the car. That meant Audi Silver Spring needed to send us another document, showing that the previous lien is paid off and the car is free from any prior lien. So, our second DMV attempt also failed. It took them 1.5 months of back and forth and hours of wasted time on the phone to finally get us that second document. After this much trouble, we assumed that would be it. But we were wrong! When we went to the DMV for a 3rd time(!), we learned that the company names they wrote on the titling documents and the sale document are not identical. This meant that the DMV needed an additional document that proved that those two names belonged to the same company. After 3 hours of back and forth finally we got a document faxed and we were able to finish titling our car (only a few days before our temporary registration expired). I probably will never get my vehicle serviced at this Audi dealership ever again. I noticed a small pop out in the door where the vehicle was serviced. Not sure how the mechanics managed to do this when the problem areas were the front and back right side tires. I told them to remove the small pop in the door and some how my surface pro ended up with a huge crack in the screen. I knew the mechanic wouldn't be doing any interior work on the car since the problem was outside of the vehicle. I made the simple mistake of leaving my device in the back seat where I thought it would be left unharmed. The worker denied everything and I was never reimbursed. Still, to this day, I am not sure how placing a laptop in the back seat of your vehicle leaves you with a huge crack in the screen. An ambiguous mystery if you ask me. read more

Not a great experience with used car sales. Had been looking for a used A3 Prestige in white and found one here but the follow through from the salesman was not great. We went back an forth a few times to get the price where I needed it, but when it came to closing the deal, the salesman did not get the last bit of information from the finance department or ask them to get back to me and the salesman was out on Saturday and then Monday without any follow up and then I found out Tuesday morning the car sold Monday night, so I was not happy given I have not been able to locate one since. The kicker was that the salesman told me he still wanted to sell me a car, but my thought is that if you had followed through and done your job you would have sold me a car! read more

Unprofessionalism should be a crime. Audi of Silver Spring ruined my day today. I have been scouring the internets looking for a specific preowned car(infiniti) and one pops at this dealership after I had been looking at a few others across the northeast. Price was reasonable(had a nasty dealer fee), loaded like I wanted it, low miles, still under warranty, and clean carfax. Biggest up front downside, it was located 2.5 hours from my home. I discussed the car with their rep several times and setup tuesday as the day I would come down to get check it out and get the deal done. I received a confirmation email tuesday morning with a green light. Moved my busy schedule around, got out work early, and booked it down to metro DC from Philly. When I arrive that evening I am informed several reps that my sales rep has "just left" and the car has "just been sold". No text, no call, no email. Just me having my gas and time wasted. I'm not upset the car is gone, there are others. I'm in shock that I received no update on the status of the car so I could've avoided a 2.5 hour drive in traffic. The other staff's apology included at the end "Sorry about this situation, I would love to help you out any chance you want one of our Audis". Seriously, now I understand why they are not a recommended dealer by USAA(I called and asked). read more

I went in there. Hoping for them to work with me. I told them what I was looking for, what price range, what I COULD trade in (Didn't need to though) and asked if they could help me out. From the minute I walked in I felt this vibe that they were judging me due to age and appearance. I test drove one car, sat down with the sales (THAT gentlemen was AMAZING- sweetest guy in there!!) talked to me a little, and went back to talk to his account manager to see what they could do on the price. Came back and told me nothing could be done for me, wasn't working on the price, didn't even come talk to me after a few times of having the gentlemen go back and forth with me. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! He never went over with me Rates, prices on OTHER cars, NOTHING, didn't even look AT ME! I was sooo upset I walked out. They didn't even ask me what I was willing to put down, if I already had a loan ready for them, NOTHING!!!! I had over $5K to put down, pre approved for a loan with my credit union, and wanted a new car. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DEALERSHIP! I went over to the Tysons Corner Audi and they literally did everything to make my transaction the best I have ever had! THEY NEED TO LEARN respect, to be hospitable, and maybe get training from the Tysons Corner location! USED CAR OR NEW- everyone should be treated with respect! Audi Silver Spring provides top notch customer service ... far greater than most businesses and other industries. (car dealership, restaurant, etc.). I credit it to one thing - their staff! It speaks volumes when you see the same service staff every single time you visit the Audi Silver Spring dealership. It's very comforting, and it is very indicative that the leadership takes care of their staff, who in turn takes care of their customers. Specifically, my go-to person for car issues is Phil Lozano. Phil is not only uber friendly, but is very personable, knowledgeable, and a problem solver. He always calms my fears and concerns as it relates to my car, and goes above and beyond. I always feel like I'm in good hands with Phil. I've only experienced EXCELLENT customer service from Phil.
