DO NOT EVEN THINK OF SENDING YOUR DRY CLEANING TO THESE DISREPUTABLE, INCOMPETENT, WOULD-BE DRY…read moreCLEANERS. After a major move, I dropped off a new suit and an overcoat at sister laundry mat/dry cleaners, Bangor Street Laundromat, 56 Western Ave., Augusta, ME. From there, it was then sent to John's Green Cleaners, 355 Main St, Lewiston, ME 04240. A week later, John's returned my black suit and overcoat to Bangor Street Laundromat where I discovered that both items were severely heat-damaged: the suit in the lapel, waist area, and front and back shoulders; the overcoat was a mass of wrinkles caused by seams that had shrink considerably and totally deformed and diminished each garment. Overzealous or inexperienced pressing had permanently damaged both items. Owner Greg at first responded to a phone call and asked to be given opportunity to correct matters. I sent the damaged items back to John's for a second pressing attempt. A week later, the still-damaged items were miserably the same. Phone calls to Greg's cell and the business went unanswered for at least two weeks. Finally, I wrote an email including the below photo links demanding the filing of a damages claim. Eventually an unknown "John's Cleaner" employee responded to my email by text (unprofessional) and included a photo of theirs still showing the obviously-damaged suit jacket on their presser with warpage all around. Within the text, John's took no responsibility for having damaged both items, provided no means of filing a damage claim, and offered a self-serving resolution: that I subject further articles of clothing to their abuse and receive a one-time 30% discount. Apparently, Greg sees small claims court as the preferred means to resolve damages disputes with his clients. Do yourself a favor: stay away from Bangor Street and all of John's Green Cleaner's affiliates throughout Maine.

They didn't even get the linens completely wet. When I reported to a worker she said she would go get lead Person. This short brunette came out. She didnt even want to touch the sheet that had just come out of the wash. She said "it's slightly damp". I said, " that's barely damp." I tried to show her the folded up pillow case that wasn't even wet in middle and she walked away saying there was nothing they could do. When I said, "I wouldn't be coming back. She said, " doesnt do anything to me." Washers 69,66. She didn't even check the washers To see if there was an issue. I guess she is waiting for more people to have issues. An older woman was leaving and she had overheard. She had same issue on other side row and no one helped her either. So what to do with the stuff that didn't wash thoroughly well I had to use the washer that did work. But all of it was a time suck and down $14 for Machines that didn't clean. Plus paying extra $15 to wash again. I come twice a year and I've had An issue before with a machine but the attendant was helpful. Not so much today

Downside it is on the main road and getting in and out can be a pain depending on which way you are going. They have onsite washing and drying, Full-size washers and dryers along with smaller ones. They have a few carts for the machines which is good to avoid clutter but can be a bit annoying if they are all taken. They have a smart link system that connects the washers and such with a digital system. So that is extremely helpful if you don't carry coins or cash. I have not dealt with the dry cleaning portion of the building as of yet. I have heard mostly good things from people that have. The staff that I have limited contact with are kind and helpful There is limited seating on the inside so be ready to sit in your car. (Which some people prefer) Washing and drying times are very reasonable. The inside of the building is well kept. There is out front parking but very Limited. The outback is bigger and semi-well Lit.

My husband and I got married this July in Maine. We are from Brooklyn, so we knew little about the…read morearea, and I needed to have my dress pressed for the wedding. I found Valetone Cleaners online and their website looked professional and their reviews were good. I dropped off the dress on Tuesday and they told me it would be ready on Friday. Because of the rehearsal dinner and the distance of the shop from the place we were staying, I wasn't able to pick up the dress until Saturday, around 1:00 pm. The wedding was at 4:00. There was an older man at the desk. I gave him my slip, and then could hear him shuffling around the back for at least 5 minutes. He said he couldn't find it. My sister and I told him it was my wedding dress. He looked around some more, but he seemed to have no idea what he was doing and no sense of urgency. My sister and I ended up marching into the back to search ourselves. The place was a mess. There was junk and clothes thrown everywhere. We asked if the dress would have been sent out and he said no, but when I asked him where things would be that were pressed he seemed unsure. He then asked, "You need it today, huh?" My heart was racing...I didn't know what to do. Finally, after checking a rack for a third time, I found it, wedged between some much bigger clothes, still in the wrapping I brought it in with. It hadn't been pressed. My sister and I ended up taking the dress, going to Walmart, buying a steamer, and steaming it ourselves...but not until I cried from all the stress. Valetone Cleaners is completely disorganized and unprofessional and should not be trusted with your clothing. I don't even think I got an apology.
