The alterations were also all done on one side making the bodice lopsided. She blamed the resulting fit of the dress on my daughter saying it was her fault for choosing that style of dress. Really? Isn't it the seamstress's job to fit the dress to the body? (She's a size 2 so not exactly a difficult body to work with.). And this doesn't appear to be a one time thing, my daughter has met other brides who had to have a different seamstress fix what this woman did. I'm stunned that she has all 5 star reviews. I came back with a dress, and Judy ended up being my personal stylist! She helped me realize it couldn't be altered without changing the style of the dress, and brought up that I could get a really gorgeous shirt out of it. I said yes and then she mused that she might be able to make me a skirt of the bottom, and still charged me the $20 she quoted earlier. I have been able to take one class for so with her to make a fun and easy pair of lounge shorts. She explanation and instructions on how to read a pattern and actual application of basic sewing concepts has peaked more than just a curiosity with me. I am going to sign up for the next class since it fits my busy schedule and try and tackle a slightly more challenging project that I can wear! Definitely recommend taking her classes. If you don't have a sewing machine, no worries. She has machines on site that you can use to get a sense if you want to continue on or just do one class to see what sewing is like.
