It is a comfort to be able to do your wash without contending with the crowds and competition for washers and dryers of much larger laundromats. The staff at Auburndale is helpful and friendly. The washers are nearly brand-new and very reliable. Although the dryers have been in place for some time, they have always worked well for me. I will exchange the quiet and service of this small laundromat for the bells and whistles of a larger, newer one, every-single-time.

Good laundromat. Been here several times…read more The machines work fine. Have only ever seen one or two at most that are not in operation. For washing machines, there are several options: 20lbs, 30lbs, 40lbs, 60lbs, and 80lbs. The machines have 9 different modes with various temperatures. Washers and dryers all have card readers, which is nice . It is 24 hours a day, and there is a counter and people who work here, however it is not manned 24 hours. The lady I've interacted with has been very helpful. The first time I came I was trying to figure out how to set up the dryer and she came over and explained it to me. And I've seen her assist many others as well. There are two vending machines, one with snacks and one with drinks. There are two TVs with cable, one in each end of the facility. And the place is stocked with one public bathroom. The place isn't always super clean, especially the floors. Trash bins have been full or near full most of the time when I come here. But they do clean, they just can't keep up with the demands. It does get really busy and quite crowded on weekends, something to keep in mind. I would show up around 0700 or 08 at the latest to avoid the crowd. During the week it's much slower.

I found Valetone Cleaners online and their website looked professional and their reviews were good. I dropped off the dress on Tuesday and they told me it would be ready on Friday. Because of the rehearsal dinner and the distance of the shop from the place we were staying, I wasn't able to pick up the dress until Saturday, around 1:00 pm. The wedding was at 4:00. There was an older man at the desk. I gave him my slip, and then could hear him shuffling around the back for at least 5 minutes. He said he couldn't find it. My sister and I told him it was my wedding dress. He looked around some more, but he seemed to have no idea what he was doing and no sense of urgency. My sister and I ended up marching into the back to search ourselves. The place was a mess. There was junk and clothes thrown everywhere. We asked if the dress would have been sent out and he said no, but when I asked him where things would be that were pressed he seemed unsure. He then asked, "You need it today, huh?" My heart was racing...I didn't know what to do. Finally, after checking a rack for a third time, I found it, wedged between some much bigger clothes, still in the wrapping I brought it in with. It hadn't been pressed. My sister and I ended up taking the dress, going to Walmart, buying a steamer, and steaming it ourselves...but not until I cried from all the stress. Valetone Cleaners is completely disorganized and unprofessional and should not be trusted with your clothing. I don't even think I got an apology.

Now I don't normally talk about politics or religion in public, but I could not listen to the FOX news station that was blaring behind us and not make comments to my partner about how ridiculous the news story was. I suppose it was when I used myself as an example and then verbally exclaimed my religious beliefs and sexual preference out loud that the "owner", who made sure to point that out, came over to our machine and demanded that we unload our washer (the triple loader) because it was "way too full and you need to start pulling some of your clothes out immediately!" Not in a soft or polite tone either, actually in my partners and my face like he was going to try and fight one of us!!! Sorry sir, arguing with you over something so petty is not really on my list of things to get done today! I think you understood this when I explained to my partner that we could not in good conscience support your business and we would be removing all of our clothes and heading to a different location. I am appalled at the way you followed us out into the street and expected a physical argument to ensue? Who exactly do you think you are, or better yet who are we? We are two grown men who deserve the respect you would show any other patron in your store. Being gay or Jewish gives you absolutely no right to treat us the way you did. In my 45 years living in 6 different states, I have never had someone behave like that. It is unfortunate that you are a business owner representing the Lewiston area, I hope you will find new ways of thinking and can stop living in fear.
