I've been using J&J for all of our dry cleaning since 1999 and have been thoroughly pleased with the results every time. Never had any problems with damage. My shirts, suits and ties always come back looking great, as do my wife's blouses and dresses (Including ones with intricate decorative beading). I brought in a suit to be tailored for an upcoming wedding. The jacket needed to be taken in, the waist needed to be tailored as well as the cuffs removed. There was also an issue with the pants not fitting properly in the back. I was told the suit would be ready by Tuesday. On Monday I got a call saying the suit was done. DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could give less stars I would. I brought in 3 expensive blouses to be taken in. When I did not hear back in 3 months I started calling and coming in. Either they did not know what I was talking about or they said they weren't ready yet. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they declined to answer to it. I finally went back, one last time, seven months later and they told me they had the shirts and that the person who worked on them was upset and threw away the ticket so they did not know who they belonged to. The person at the counter, the owner, basically said it was my fault. They refused to give me any discount on the work and they did not feel they needed to be sorry for their customer service. I'm honestly afraid to try on my blouses because they are probably not done correctly and I will probably have to pay for someone to fix them again. read more

Do not use this service if you love your clothes. I should have known form the first time that I used this service when my skirt, which had no stains but just needed a general dry cleaning, came back with brown streaks on it. I gave them another shot because they removed the stains. Recently I brought a designer coat to them which they ruined. They were unable to get a stain out so they rubbed this fragile, soft wool so hard that it removed the wool. It didn't leave a hole it just removed the hair from that area. The owner refused to give me anything but my $30 back. Any reputable dry-cleaner would have known that this fabric was too delicate for what they did to it. read more

devastating doesn't even begin to describe my experience with J & J. I recently brought my wedding dress in for a cleaning, in the hopes of wearing again for a professional photo session. The dress is 100% silk, which requires specific care. J&J provided no care whatsoever. I picked up the dress after 5 weeks to find that the only some of the dirt stains had been removed but there was 3 GIANT oil stains of the cleaning solution left on the train. There also was now 2 pulls on the front and center of the dress. Stains and pulls aside, they had actually ruined my dress by not caring for it probably, and what once felt like lovely silk felt starchy and scratchy. I brought the dress back in for them to work on the solution stains...5 days later I went to go pick it up and they didn't even remember where the stains were, so clearly hadn't paid any attention to them, and no surprise they were still there. The employee actually admitted that he must've left the solution on and it dried, which is not supposed to happen. They barely apologized, after ruining a $2400 dress and actually made several jokes including "you can hem the entire train off and not see the stains" and "have you considered tie-dying it". My dress is now a gross grey/beige color, with solution stains, pulls, has lost all of its silky amazingness and can never be worn again. do NOT go to this cleaner if you want your clothing to be cared for. read more

Just don't do it, I brought some brand new clothes there to get cleaned and pressed and everything came back with stains on it. Literally brand new clean clothes that came back from the cleaners dirty. So round two, some stains out but new ones appeared. Round three finally got it right. Honestly just don't do it. Every time I went someone was experiencing a problem with something they dropped off. From not doing something requested, to just doing a bad job. Although the people are very nice. read more

I am not exaggerating when I say that I had a traumatizing experience at this cleaner. Almost a month ago today, I dropped my WEDDING DRESS off at J&J Cleaners to be washed and pressed. I did not want it preserved as I am planning to wear it again soon. I was told it would be ready in about 2 weeks... 3 weeks rolled around and I hadn't heard anything, so I called on a Friday to check on it. The woman at the cleaner had to go to the back and check TWICE to try to find it, and after some back and forth, she told me she had to call me back. When she called me back, she told me that "someone" had picked up my wedding dress the previous Monday. It wasn't me, and it wasn't my husband. At this point I was shaking and crying. My worst fear about leaving my dress at a cleaner had come true. The lady on the phone said there was no way of tracking who had taken my dress, and that she would call the owner and call me back. I wasn't going to sit around and wait for someone to get back to me, so I went to the cleaners and asked if I could look at the dresses in the back to see if there was a mistake. Luckily for all involved, my dress was hanging with no name on it in a dingy back corner. I said I wanted to take it, and I didn't care if it hadn't been cleaned yet. The lady said she would call over the man who cleans the dresses. He came over and she asked if my dress had been cleaned. He said no, and that he didn't know what it was doing hanging there. My dress had been sitting there for 3 weeks untouched. I repeated that I wanted to take it, but he said he could have it cleaned and ready for me the following Monday. Although I felt extremely uneasy, I agreed. When I went to pick it up around 4PM today, I asked to speak to a manager or the owner. The man who cleans the dresses told me that was him. He told me that my dress was not ready and I would need to come back in about an hour and a half, and that technically my slip said my dress would be ready by 3/10, which implies that he was doing me a favor by having it ready for me on 3/1. I asked if he knew what happened with my dress the previous Friday, and his response was that the lady must've just grabbed my tag when someone else came to pick up their dress the previous Monday. I explained that while I appreciated them letting me look through the dresses on my own, I should not have had to go through that emotional experience. I politely suggested they get a better system of either labeling garments, or requiring an ID for pick up on pricier items. His response was that my dress was in the back the whole time, and that it was an accidental tag mix up. I WAS OFFERED NO APOLOGY AND NO REIMBURSEMENT IN ANY FORM! When I returned before closing this evening, my dress was ready to go. I got a quick, "Sorry about the mix up" on my way out the door. It looks clean and undamaged from the quick peek I've had at it, but the anxiety and distress I've experienced outweigh any positives. I thought I was doing a good thing by bringing my dress to a local small business. I was quoted $160 at Pratt Abbott, but I thought that a smaller cleaner would care more about my dress. It cost me $209 to get my dress cleaned there, and I had to pay up front. I had already invested $1,900 in my dress. That means, aside from the immense sentimental value attached to my dress, they had a hard time keeping track of a $2,100 garment, and I only counted 5 wedding dresses in the back including my own. On top of the emotional toll the whole situation had on me, I was then made to feel like my concerns were dramatic and unfounded. I will never bring any item of clothing to J&J Cleaners again, and I highly recommend that you avoid them as well. read more

Terrible service. I have been a customer for years with not great but satisfactory results. I now know their service has seriously declined and I know what terrible service looks like in the cleaning business. I dropped off a jacket for a new zipper in Nov 2021. I was told it would be a couple months before they could get to it. Hearing nothing in January, I stopped in. The seamstress said she had not started It and there were over 20 zippers in front of me. She said maybe another month. I called in March and politely inquired. I spoke to the same lady who was defensive and unwilling to commit to anything. I called a couple weeks later and spoke to the owner, who said he'd look into it and get back to me. He never called back. I called and spoke to him a week later to learn he did nothing and ask me to call him after 7pm. I callled and no answer and voice mail is full. I called a couple days later and he asked that I call him back. I called and no answer or voice mail. I tried calling a couple times over the next couple weeks. He did call me back and left a message saying it would be done the following Wed. The next two weeks went by and no coat. I called and was told they didn't know when they could do it. I was away so my wife went in to pick it up. It had been 7 months since dropping it off. No apologies, no offers, no nothing. This place is terrible and the people clearly don't care about customers. I've found there are great alternatives in town and got the zipper done in 2 weeks. read more

I took a brand new LL Bean Men's Blazer to be cleaned. When I picked it up they handed it over and said nothing. Thankfully I checked the tag stapled to the garment bag, which indicated there was defective interfacing and they did the best they could. So I looked at the jacket to see if I could figure out what they were talking about, and noticed a bunch of puckering on the front of the jacket to the right of the lapel, that definitely wasn't there before. The lady at the counter said the interfacing (stabilizing fabric applied to the back of the jacket fabric at manufacturing) was defective, causing the puckering. I found this hard to believe given that it was an LL Bean product and the opposite side had no puckering, nor anywhere else on the garment that had the interfacing. She called out a man who said, "Just take it back to LL Bean, they'll swap it out." I didn't think that was fair to Beans, as the damage occurred during cleaning. They agreed to try to fix the problem (re-press it?) so I left the jacket again. When I returned it was improved, though still had some waves in that area. I told them I was really disappointed my brand new jacket was damaged while in their care and felt, at a minimum, they should refund the cleaning cost. She refused, saying they'd processed it twice now. Lesson learned, I will never return there again. I only wish I'd read the reviews below before going there. I brought a military uniform to the bath location to be sent out for sewing. I pinned the name taps, airborne badge, and rank where they needed to be in the size they needed to be. I got told it would be two weeks, three weeks rolled by and I called them asking for the status. I went down to pick it up to find out they have tripled their price from my last service with them. upon inspection i quickly state "My rank is upside down on my cap and top!" So we sent it back out and a week later it comes back but this time the chest rank has been positioned about 2.5" higher on the chest. I said this is madness, I cant spend this much time and money on inconsistent alterations. I requested a full or partial refund because of timing and poor service which i was denied. I paid $50 dollars for 3+ weeks of waiting just to bring this uniform to a local home business to get done CORRECTLY. This is not a reflection of the clerk, it is a reflection of the boss. he did not want to honor any kind of discount or refund for inconvenience and a non-complete service. I will never refer them to another, and certainly will never return for future services (sewing or dry cleaning). read more

Stay away, far away. The lady at the counter has a real problem with the English language and also the dry cleaning business in general. Her answer to about everything is to mimic Sgt. Klink in Hogan's heroes - she knows nothink. They are supposed to have a home delivery service. It doesn't work. A jacket stayed outside my home in their pretty blue bag for over a week and was never picked up in spite of reminder calls. I think it is admirable that they hire the mentally challenged but they need to give them adequate training. They lost a tie of my husbands and I don't think they even tried to find it. They never apologized and they never called us about it for 4 weeks in a row. We would stop in and inquire and they would say they would call in two days. No call ever, no apology and no tie. And they wanted us to pay for the dry cleaning of the tie. Are you kidding me? They finally just sent us a check for about 1/3 of the tie's value---just a check, no note of apology. Brought a bed comforter in to have it cleaned, when I picked it up and brought it home found that they had torn the comforter and put 8 pins in it. Called them back up and they offered no rebate. You promised me my pants would take 1 week to be hemmed yea hemmed we are not talking tailered here and 3 weeks later I FINALLY receive them not ok when you not only verbally say 1 week but also print that on my ticket! Your excuse was your busy, again not my problem at least when I come in tell me this, allow ME to make the decision not you to hold my pants for 3 weeks with excuses and not knowing where my patnts are each of the 4 times I came in to pick them up. Then to not discount WHAT????!!!!!!! Again you gave me excuses that you were so busy that you had to send them out and pay for them to be hemmed again sometimes that is the price of doing business.
