Went there to see if they re-screen window screens. The do it in the rear of the store. Took five screens in and total came to $111. Was told it would take a few days, but they called me the very next day to come back and pick up the finished screens. Great service and a good price. Can't beat it. read more

I had maggots in my trash can. Needed new trash can and pesticide . Chris Fox was at the ready when I came in. Shared my problem and he quickly took me to an isle and recommended three products and walked me over to trash cans . I was sure shocked at cost and he quickly assured me it would last and had a 10 year warranty to boot. The whole time Chris smiled , was informative and reassuring. I worked at Richboro True Value for a year and a half as a cashier. When COVID hit hard in March, the store completely ran out of masks, and many customers came in looking to purchase them. I decided to begin sewing masks and asked the owner of the Richboro True Value store, (my boss,) Dan, if I could sell them in the store. I offered him a profit, but he told me that he would not take money for my work. It was no surprise that the masks sold like crazy as Governor Wolf required them to be worn in public spaces. Dan and I had a verbal agreement that I would bill him weekly. Once he noticed that the masks were selling, he often joked that we had to redo our agreement, but no change was made because it was not spoken about seriously, as he told me he did not initially believe that any of my masks would actually sell. Fast forward to late May/ early June, I thought there had been a mistake with one of my checks, and I politely requested that we go over the invoice, to which he replied "be careful," and did not provide further explanation when I inquired what he meant. When I went in for work on Sunday, he informed me that I had been disrespectful to him and ruined his vacation. I apologized to him if I came off as rude, and told him I did not know he was on vacation. He further explained that I was "raised better than that," and I got very upset that he thought I would intentionally disrespect him, as I was thankful to him for allowing me to sell my masks. As the day went on and Dan would not speak to me, I reflected on the fact that there had been several inappropriate comments he had made to me during my time at True Value, including a specific instance in which he made inappropriate comments to me about my own mother. I had been looking for a new job for awhile, but I did not want to quit my position at True Value until I had secured another job. An hour after our altercation, as I was still struggling to hold back tears as I helped customers, I decided that it would simply be best for me to quit to avoid working in that type of work environment. I told this to Dan, to which he replied that I "put my stuff down and get back to work" and that I had said things far more appropriate than he had (which is false, but either way I do not believe that a boss should make any inappropriate comments to an employee.) Three days after I quit, I entered the store to return my uniform and give my last invoice for my last week of mask sales. I received payment for my actual work at the store, but I did not receive payment for the final week of mask sales. I was not too concerned, because I knew that billing was only done twice a month. On July 12, 2020, my mother entered the store with my cousin to purchase a propane tank. She casually mentioned to Dan that I had not received my final check for masks, to which he replied that he would not be paying me because he was angry that I had quit. He then threatened to call the police. My mother, not wanting a fight, left the store with my cousin. I figured there had been a misunderstanding, so I went to the store with my younger brother and my boyfriend to ask Dan about the status of my last check for the masks. He immediately threatened to call the police if I did not leave, to which I replied that he was welcome to call the police, but I only wanted to have a civil conversation with him to ask about my last check. He called the police and told them that I was making threats, and that my mother brought a man into the store as a "shake down." The police advised me to take the matter to small claims court if he did not want to pay me, which I have not yet done since I am currently away at college. Dan also sent me a Cease and Desist, claiming that I had "engaged in a pattern of unprofessional, inappropriate, and at times threatening behavior" towards him. I simply wanted my last check, and I did not do anything that would be deemed illegal or threatening. The reason I wanted to share my story is to show how Richboro True Value treats its employees, especially considering I was providing a service during a pandemic. If you value how a store treats its employees, I would not recommend shopping at Richboro True Value. read more

Convenient, clean, and organized. Staff is always helpful and pleasant. They have good inventory for everyday things and small DIY projects.

I needed a carpet shampoo machine for a spill from a drink that was on a new carpet. I chose to go to the local true value because it was closer and to support local business in a trying time. Upon returning the machine the owner Dan told my wife the machine wasn't cleaned enough, and was not going to refund us the $25 deposit. That was not true, the machine was old and very well used. He stated there was a dog hair on it, I informed him that I do not own a dog, he immediately got defensive and said he didn't do a DNA sample on the hair and wasn't sure what it was, either way it wasn't from me. Very poor customer service from a piss poor excuse of a business owner. I asked him if he would just refund the $25.00 he charged me for returning a dirty machine, (that my wife and I cleaned throughly). He first said I'll give you your $25 back and we'll cut ties. I said ok, then he turns around and says ya know what I'm not giving you your money back you're a bad costumer! He said I spent 20 mins wiping off your filth and he stated he used a hose to rinse it but could not show any evidence of this. He even said to his employee, "got another one" referring to another customer he weaseled money from. I asked him one more time to refund my money, he showed me a photocopy of a document that had someone else's initials on. Then he told me to leave or he would call the cops. Upon leaving I showed him he has no customers in his store, probably because of his poor customer service. He then starts to show me his bank statements on his phone and bragged about making 3 million dollars last year and he has 3 stores that he does this in. I would advise anyone who needs anything from a store like this to drive a few minutes further to a Lowes or home depot, you will get better service and better pricing. This is why big box stores are taking over. Dan here is running his very small business into the ground with bad customer service and pricing that is more than doubled. Shame on me for trying to support a local business and not shop in the big box stores in a time like this. Dan, that number you showed me on your phone will soon have a - in front of it from not having any customers. I hope you use the $25 you stole from me wisely. If anyone from the True Value headquarters in the franchise department sees this or any of the other numerous bad reviews about Dan, you guys should look into this guy he doesn't give a shit about your customers and is ruining the true value name..... read more

unprofessional management. save your time and money... there's other small mom & pop shops around the area that have identical items. also, plenty of Lowe's, Home Depot and ace hardware shops around. read more
