I went to get an estimate and book online, but after completing all the information and answering all of the questions, it errored out forcing me to email for a quote and to schedule. There were days of back and forth emails with complicated explanations about various shifts and workers arriving at different times. Nothing was easy about this process. I finally scheduled and was hoping the clean would redeem the booking process. The staff member arrived on time and was super friendly. It was clear she was working hard and wanted to do a good job. She did ask me for several supplies, which surprised me, as I hadn't experienced that before and wouldn't have anticipated. I had work meetings during the latter part of her cleaning. When I was done, I discovered that she had needed even more supplies, so had to call a family member to bring them and then had that person help finish up. This meant she let someone into my home when I was unaware and potentially not employed by the company. Very alarming. Afterwards, I inspected the work and found some of it was well done and other parts were not. She told me she couldn't do the shower because she didn't have the appropriate supplies. The floors were not done well at all and we had to go back and clean them ourselves. The owner followed up to ask how things went and if we'd like to schedule regular cleanings. I relayed our experience, asking if I should expect to provide supplies and if the shower would be handled at the next visit. I never heard from them again.

MerryMaids crew stayed two hours longer, did more work. Two stars for the overall experience - Pretty good cleaners by raw talent, extremely overpriced compared to the competition, middle of the market when it comes to cleanliness. Below market customer service for arguing with me about cleaning dirt off the corners of the base boards, then didn't return my sponge. Used soap on all my cast iron without asking, now I have to re-season everything. Long Review: I just paid $478 for a "deep clean" that was in all fairness a pretty good cleaning if it were a routine cleaning. Comparable to the "sparkle" cleaning I paid for from Merry Maids eight months ago for $272, but not as thorough. The only exception being that Merry Maids cleaned my sliding glass doors and the balconies, which was included in the original quote. I paid extra both times for the stove cleaning, the refrigerator etc. I also talked to a guy at their office (I think) on the phone and told him how much more I was paying compared to the last cleaning and that my expectation was that the money spent should be reflected in the level of cleanliness. He assured me that the two ladies were "the best". When they said they were done, I asked about the balconies, and they said they don't do that. There wasn't an option for that on the website either, like there was on the Merry Maids website. I also had to argue with the lady when they were trying to leave after less than 3.5 hours of work (1,600sq ft) to have her wipe down the corners of the wall by the base boards. She said it needed to be painted. When I removed the dirt by dabbing my kitchen sponge on it (they didn't bring any, just rags), she relented and wiped off the dirt. I later found that she apparently didn't return my sponge. I also had to instruct them on cleaning behind my AV system and stand, which I would assume that would be included in a "deep clean". I also found that my cast iron pans were cleaned with soap and were put in my oven wet. That's a big no no for cast because it immediately starts to oxidize. One of the pans is already showing rust so I'll have to strip it, sand it, and start over. If I'm paying for a "deep cleaning," what exactly is being cleaned that isn't part of the regular cleaning? And why would I have to monitor them and guide them on how to clean a house? I figured using a little elbow grease to remove easily removable dirt would be part of the additional fee I paid. I have attached an example of the deep clean on my floor, it took 8 seconds with a different sponge to make it look clean. I'm completely blown away by all these five star reviews. Even if these ladies are being paid $25 an hour, that's more than $300 to the business. That's more than a 60% margin against labor. If you want to pay twice as much as you need to, by all means use these people. I'll be going back to MerryMaids. I was later contacted and they pointed out that I had booked two rooms and the cleaning crew reported five. I responded that I correctly described my house when booking as having two bedrooms and 2.5 baths (clearly labeled dropdown menus), along with the square footage that includes the garage and balconies that were never touched. There is nowhere to list total number of rooms.

Once he was done shampooing the carpets, I went to check on the rest of the cleaning services and noticed that the cleaners didn't scrub my shower or tub, left the bathroom sink with dirt streaks, and the countertops grimy. Waiting to hear back from the owners but this was not a good experience, and I absolutely do not recommend. In fact, I think their other 5 start reviews are fake. Oh, and they were late. Two stars solely on the fact that the carpet cleaner actually did his job.

Ginger kept in close contact with us the entire week and was incredibly gracious and organized keeping up with our constantly changing date. The fact that she was so fast to respond to our emails during a time of statewide crisis was truly amazing. We weren't able to be at the condo the day the maids cleaned, and I was nervous that a lack of supervision might lead them to miss some spots since we weren't there to answer questions, but my fears were unwarranted. Our landlady saw the before-and-after state of the condo and said she was amazed at how clean it was, considering that the moving guys had tracked so much mud all over the place. We'd sprung for the baseboard cleaning and interior window cleaning and I think that was money well spent. Thank you so much to the entire Austin Maid Service team for being the only thing during the ice storm that went smoothly!

I cannot verify that the emails were not received, but I know that problems like this occur. I will not question their honesty. The three times I did use them, other than the problems that resulted in the offer for a free cleaning, they did do a good job. They have offered to work with me and make good on their promise. I sincerely believe they will do this. However, I am not taking them up on this offer. Please note they they are doing this in good faith. What I'd like to offer is if you were to give our company another chance, your next cleaning would be 100% complimentary. We are always working to improve our service and our staffing and we, and I, take that work and effort seriously. I apologize that the service was lacking and that we were unable to get out there in a timely manner to resolve this issue. I genuinely appreciate your feedback and input. The girl who answered our call, I think her name is Yvette, she gave us a quote immediately after asking about house dimension etc and she has the next day available. We booked the move out/move in cleaning service and the next day 2 ladies came in with all equipments. Our electricity hasn't turned on at that time and ladies were very understanding and they cleaned everything else first. The service took about 4 hours and we left during the 2nd half. When we came back the house was sparkling clean!!! They hit all the spots that we asked them to. And gosh!! The bathrooms are squeaky clean as if it's a newly built house. After returning home from work, excited to walk into a just-cleaned apartment, I was extremely disappointed. - surfaces in both bedrooms had not been dusted/ wiped down (dressers, night stand and desk) - kitchen island was dirty - top of liquor cabinet had not been dusted - coffee table top had not been cleaned - dust and crumbs on the floor were overlooked I called Alexis to talk about what might have happened, and was even more disappointed. She told me that "the dust must have settled" since they had been there hours before, that "sometimes the towels leave lint", and "they don't lift furniture". She assured me that she watched the surfaces get wiped down while I could clearly see that they hadn't been. I was extremely disappointed by the contrived and combative response. I feel completely duped, especially since there are so many competing services at better price points. Attention to detail is paramount in this industry, and apparently austins finest cares as little about the details as they do their customers (see screenshots).
