I have taken a LONG time to write this overdue review. I will list the good, the bad and the unforgivable. The Good: 1. The 2 movers were careful with furniture, kind and very down to earth guys. 2. They worked very well together, no drama, hassle free, I barely lifted a finger! 3. Extremely respectful guys, I felt taken care of! So much so that we decided to incentivize them by tipping $80/each cash at the beginning of the move, and also provided dinner. + an additional $150 tip for both to split. The Bad: 1. Two movers, one loaded everything in the truck and the other brought everything down from the 4th floor of my apt (via elevator) but I was shocked that ALL of my belongings were lined up on the floor and hallway of the first floor with NO SUPERVISION. I told my husband anyone walking out of/into the building could easily take something with them and we wouldn't know until unpacking. 2. Listen, it's Austin & I honestly don't care if you smoke weed, but my friend kept telling me the movers were clearly under the influence. I didn't notice until much later how this would impact my husband and I, which brings me to my next point. 3. We had initially been quoted for something like 4 hours based on our 1 bedroom apartment- 99% had been not only packed but boxed, and protected with bubble wrap. However at the end of it all, it was over an 9 hour job. Not including the additional tip of $150 we sent over to one of the movers to split with his coworker. 4. At one point I had them unload the rest of the boxes in the garage so that we could wrap it up. The Unforgivable: 1. I have carefully curated my entire closet with one of a kind completely unique and special items, including my Wedding Dress (which I planned on giving to my daughter one day), countless vintage ensembles and quirky footwear like (faux) diamond encrusted cowboy boots. They're definitely not everyday wear because they're so special and hold a very dear space in my heart. So you can imagine my utter horror when 2 months later, my husband and I are about to pack for a much needed vacation when we can't find any of our suitcases. You know, the 3 I filled with my prized possessions. I immediately feel sick and search EVERYWHERE. Now I don't have a big house so it's not like they could get lost. Our flight is later that night so we rush to get new suitcases, pack and leave. But I'm not kidding you, I never stop thinking about the clothes, shoes, accessories and hats I'll never be able to replace. As soon as we get back I call ATX Movers and speak with April, she tells me that it simply can't be and that I waited so long to call, mind you we have been slowly unpacking and fixing the house as quickly as we could. I felt that given the fact that I don't wear these piece's regularly; especially in the dead of Texas summer, two months is an appropriate timeframe. She promises to speak to the two men immediately and report back to me asap. She also mentions she doesn't think there's much she can do, but will report back because it seems so unlikely and that the two men are her best workers. I don't hear back from April, but she emails my husband stating the men swear they unloaded them at my house, and that if we provide receipts they can reimburse us for the suitcases. I don't reach back because the contents taken were what was important. I genuinely lie awake in bed thinking about my beautiful possessions and how inconsiderate and irresponsible it was for them to leave everything unattended like that. I will never ever ever see my things again. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with how this was "handled" and I truly wish no one ever goes through this again. read more

I highly recommend ATX Movers! I was moving out of Austin to another city in Texas and Jason and Ray were the best! Very professional and treated my things like their own. The whole process from the quote to the end was seamless. They even made two stops, one to my storage unit and then to my new place. It was a tough job going up and down stairs since I moved into a second floor apartment. But they didn't break a beat (but did break a sweat! Ha). You get what you paid for...had a few bids around town, went with the cheapest. Did NOT move all we had agreed upon. Had to make MULTIPLE trips back and forth on our own to continue to move ourselves. They BROKE our china cabinet and our vintage video game console. They did NOT put our bed/recliner/china cabinet together correctly. Never heard back from the owner...VERY POOR business practice. STILL WAITING ON THE OWNER TO CALL... Also, there was NO WALK THROUGH. Be forewarned, friends! Also, fun fact: April is MARRIED to the OWNER, so no wonder we never heard back from him?! Moving is my least favorite activity and I'd never do it except there are times when you have to relocate for work, school, or other changes in your life. It was a little easier when I was young man as I could muscle most of my belongings into the truck or trailer without a lot of help. I sent ATX a moving request on Tuesday and we had a team on Thursday morning. They showed up on time. I had recommended 3x guys but only two showed, and the right two guys showed up. Justin and Miguel crushed it. They worked hard, we had some heavy stuff and some tricky angles and they tackled all of it with a great and helpful attitude. They were accommodating and helped us with items that were unrelated to the particular move but we wanted to have rearranged. It definitely was appreciated. As a customer or was nice to not feel like I was inconveniencing them with my requests and I never felt like they were just hoping the day would end. They made sure we were absolutely satisfied. ATX Movers moved me from a 2 BR apartment in Round Rock to a 3/2 house in Georgetown. About 10 miles. They arrived within 1 minute of the appointed time. Setting up the move was very easy with Lori and the office staff. I made the initial call to them 3 weeks before the move. Even though I had to reschedule twice, they were able to accommodate me both times. Their contract and the manner in which they work were well explained to me. Both guys doing the move seemed experienced. The main guy doing the move made the estimate of time after seeing my stuff tye were moving. He estimated the move would fit in their 2 hour minimum cost. They completed the move within a couple of minutes of his estimate. I felt they were careful with my belongings and both were genuinely nice guys. My move was completely uneventful, which is what you want in a move. I would use them again. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that my clothes dryer arrived with a pretty gnarly scratch in the top. It is cosmetic and was 10+ years old, so I did not ask them to try to fix the paint. read more

I had a great experience the first time I used this company to move, which was referred to me from a friend, and I really wish I had written a review beforehand because they were so great but I could not remember their names. They handled everything with care, especially, one item that is very special to me, which is a large scale model boat that my dad had made before he passed of cancer. When I first moved, they made sure to handle it with care, and even had me drive it to my new place in my car to assure it would be okay. Because of that level of care, I decided to use them when I moved out. The two guys that helped out could not have given a sh*t about my items, especially that boat. Before I even had a chance to tell them to handle it with care, they dropped the entire boat which is encased a plexiglass case in a box, breaking it. Of course no reaction until I made sure to let them know how important that is to me. I will never use them again because of this. The company did nothing to make it right or offer to repair, nor would I even trust whoever their insurance company is to repair it. Live and learn I guess. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because of the first experience. I guess if you have valuable items that you want to get to your new place the same state, make sure to remind them multiple times that something is important. read more

I had to book them at the last minute, literally the night before the move when everything was already all boxed up when I realized the company I had booked was a scam (All My Sons). April called me back immediately even though the office was closed and got me scheduled for the next morning. Our movers were Manny and Cesar, and they were so nice and helpful! They worked so efficiently and smoothly, handled all of our items with care, and got everything right where I wanted it with absolutely no hiccups! I hired this company for a move in April 2024 and cannot recommend them to anyone. If i could give them negative stars, i would. They showed up in a pickup and trailer. Not a problem as i did not have too many things but that would have been a big issue if i had not already taken some of my furnishings. Both the driver and the other employee reeked of marijuana and both had bloodshot eyes. I have no issues with people that partake in weed but this was very unprofessional and if it was not for the fact that i only had that day to move, i would have canceled immediately. They turned a 3 hour job into a 5 hour job. Partly because they were extremely slow and partly because they kept taking breaks in the trailer to have loud discussions. I was actually relieved that they made it to my new place because i was concerned about the sobriety of the driver. Please hire anyone else, even random people on the street would do a better job and be more professional than this poor excuse for a moving company. Really a shame because the female employee that i was communicating with about the move was very professional. Too bad she has to work for this company with these types of employees. read more

Very last minute I booked ATX Movers to move my one bedroom apartment. They did a great job. I worked with Justin and Miguel. They came well prepared and took care of all my furniture. tables, bed and other belongings. I packed my dishes without bubblewrap and these guys did a great job with moving my dinnerware without any problems. I had the supreme pleasure of using ATX Movers this last month for an extensive move...extensive only because due to circumstance I broke it up into 4 separate moves. Moved from a 2 story townhouse & off site storage to a 3 bdrm 4th floor apartment, off site storage & some items going to a house. It was organized chaos and crazy time. Included was off site storage rearranging (moving items in & out), moving items into apartment which ended up having unforeseen issues arise that the movers handled with great skill, and taking furniture items to a house. On 3 of the moves there were various stop and unloads...meaning we start at one place & load, go to stop #1 and unload some items then on to stop #2 and unload there--one of the moves had 3 stops. During all the scheduling we had a medical issue arise & April was absolutely the best in helping us cancel one of the moves the night before the move and get it rescheduled a few days later....with NO PENALTY! What business does that these days!?? Everywhere you turn, if you have an appointment & don't keep it you will be charged a no show fee, BUT NOT WITH ATX MOVERS! They understand life happens & work with you. On move #1 going to the apartment on 4th floor it turned out the couch would not fit on the elevator. Couch is not an oversized one but no matter which way the guys worked it, it would not fit in the dang elevator. So they had to haul it up the stairs which it barely fit in the stairwell, it was a struggle....and the thing is a super heavy weight solid, leather couch. Kudos to those guys. I wish I remembered all the guys who moved me in all these moves, without fail they ALL were terrific!!! (Chris?Jay?Jason?Christopher?SHAME ON ME FOR NOT REMEMBERING!) Shout out to all of them! Move #2 had it's issues as well with the elevator not working at the apartment....bad news....but the good news is there was another elevator in the building but way far away from the apartment...so that day's movers ended up hoofing it from one end of the bldg way far away to the other end of the bldg....they def got their steps in that day, they hustled & didn't slow down. Move #3 was pretty uneventful, no major roadblocks showed up & movers were wonderful. Which brings me to the final move #4....Justin & Eric H were great to finish out the final move. No roadblocks or unforeseen issues on this move either, these guys were so awesome and helpful! I had an assortment of oddball large breakable type items sitting in the middle of the room that I was planning on making numerous trips back and forth to hand carry and move myself BUT Justin and Eric H graciously offered and very proactively, super helpfully said they'd be more than happy to carefully wrap in their blankets and load and move them for me! Sweeeeeeet!!!! They took what would have been a good 5 or 6 loads for me to do back & forth and gotter done!!!! Whoop! Many thanks guys! What I also loved about ATX Movers is that they confirm and check in perfectly, were on time, on schedule, hustled, took great care on all the moves, taking things down stairs, upstairs, everywhere. I would get confirmation emails from April of what was scheduled, and prior to arrival of movers I'd get texts & could text back detailed info for mover's arrival & such. It was easy to get in touch with ATX Movers via email and phone && I really liked being able to text the movers. I definitely wholeheartedly highly recommend them and will call them anytime I need help moving (or rearranging for that matter!) read more

Chris and Justin were amazing! They moved me from a Storage Unit to the 2nd floor of my new apartment. At the storage unit where you had to put a number in to get thru the doors. I had a lounge chair in my furniture so they put it by the inside door, where it was cool, and I was able to sit comfortably and open the door. I told them they were spoiling me. ATX Movers just moved my daughter yesterday (3/4/2024) for the second time in two years and they again did an OUTSTANDING job! The office staff is a joy to work with - they quickly respond to questions, additional needs and even possible disasters! Case in point, the Fire Marshall cancelled the required new building inspection a week before yesterday and he chose our Monday move in date for his official visit. He arrived to do the inspection only 30 minutes before the ATX Movers men arrived at my daughter's apartment to pack her belongings and drive them to her new home. April was super calm and helpful and fortunately the move went without a hitch. We will definitely hire ATX Movers a third time if/when we need a professional, always on-time crew again! We started looking for movers a few months before our move, but let me tell you - if you are moving in the summer, get your ducks in a row ASAP! Apparently it is a very busy season. Also - make sure that you are dealing with trustworthy movers, and that you do through research, not just a yelp check (there are a suprising number of cross-country mover scams out there). We wanted to find cross-country movers, but that was blindingly expensive, so we decided to get a POD unit and hire local movers. I spoke to both April and Lori through email and they were direct and clear communicators, which is something I really appreciate. Our labor-only move was $179/hr with a two-hour minimum, plus a $45 travel charge for coming out to your address. Of course we didn't love the extra charge but their labor charge was very fair so it wasn't a real problem for us. There is a 3% charge for card payments, so we paid via check, which went through promptly so we didn't have to sit around wondering when they would cash it. I unfortunately did not write down the names of the two gentlemen who helped us, but they were fantastic and knew how to efficiently load a POD. Friendly, quick, hard-working. Things had been extremely hectic for us, so it was a real relief to have these guys take care of everything for us. Highly recommend. read more
