Again we're at Attitash to ski. What can I say other then it's a great visit over the Christmas break. Organized traffic flow, super nice staff everywhere and skiing with is "just right" again. There's a lot to like here... and little to complain about. So it's easy to grant 4 stars here.

We are here on vacation and of course had to do the famous alpine slides. We are a family of 3 with a 10 year old. We were given NO instructions at the top. My daughter fell out of her sled and was hurt. They have not safety check points anywhere including no staff at the bottom. My daughter was scared and hurt with no help. This mountain is more concerned with liability than safety, BEWARE

My thoughts on Attitash: 1) Stupid name. It sounds like something you would bring to a business meeting. "Draper, you forgot your attitash in Sterling's office." Apparently it actually means "blueberry" in Abenaki. Lame. 2) It was expensive. $55 for a half-day lift ticket. I had to get that kind, because the human body is not meant to fall down repeatedly for a full day. 3) I took a bad spill at one point and while I rested in the snow wondering why I wasn't somewhere warmer drinking a hot toddy, this little 7-year old raced by and yelled "woo-hoo!" I saw him later and had a snowball all packed to throw at his face, but then his parents came by. 4) The "greens" were a little difficult for a beginner. Keep in mind that I'm so bad that once when I was getting off a lift, I couldn't ski away fast enough and the lift hit me in the ass, which caused me to fall down and also take down one of my friends. 5) The trails were pretty icy. 6) No music on the slopes. 7) And the bar didn't look fun.

Like Nicole P, I spent New Year's in a cabin in Conway. Unlike Nicole P, I have skiied Attitash many a times, we have rented the cabin for the whole season, and I have a season pass to Attitash (a steal at just $600, no blackout days). What I love about Attitash: There is a variety of trails, and the mountain is fairly big. They have the "big guns," but also receive a lot of natural snow (especially this year!!). Their lodge has a spacious and nice bar area upstairs, but a no frills 1st floor. Oh, and they have two other lodges. I love the Abernacki lift because no one really knows about it. There's a shuttle from the parking area. They make it easy and cheap for beginners. They don't groom too much. It doesn't get all that crowded except during school vacations (read: it's not at all like Loon, that terrible terrible-ness of a crowded mountain). People are nice and not jerks. They have a half pipe (not open yet)! What I don't love: Ummmm... day tickets cost like $70, but that's pretty standard for a mountain of this size. Cafeteria food is mucho dinero (like $2.50 for a small Gatorade), but that's pretty standard too. Attitash is the largest, non-super-crowded mountain close to Boston... and well worth the 2.5 to 3 hour trip to get there. See you on the slopes!

This place is the most disgusting place I have ever needed to stay in. I came to New Hampshire for some hiking and zip lining, yet when I am about to go to sleep, I first check my bed for bed bugs. We are good there. Next I see the pillows and sheets which are riddled with hairs and the ceiling paint was slowly crusting off and onto the blanket. Not only were the beds terrible, the carpets are covered with dust and dirt, I might as well stand in tics and mud. Not only was this utterly disgusting and absolutely gross, the place smelled like rotten egg and mold. The AC unit was smelly and loud and did not even work. Everything about this place is just putrid. The workers who were behind the desk were so unhealthy and disgusting. I see three of them pick their noses and one of them ate a piece of mucus and kept typing on their computer keyboard. There are bugs everywhere and cricket sounds in the wall. There are probably termites in the walls biting at the wood while people are here waiting to be crushed or until the termites make up the majority of the structure! I walked down the stairs to the living room and there was a long spiderweb with a gigantic spider on it. Now to the poor design and structure. The ceilings are low and the walls are narrow and the stairs are small. I feel claustrophobic in this building. The lights also sometimes flickered! Are you kidding me? Faulty wiring? What time era are we in the 1800s? Now for a conclusion I want to make sure that the readers of this complaining review don't think I am some sort of sissy because I am not. I just compare what I am getting to what I am paying for. This place is unacceptable and should change immediately.

This review is for the ski school only. Do not spend your money on lessons here for children,…read moreespecially when there are so many other wonderful (not Vail-owned) options in the area. While I'm sure there are some fine instructors on staff here and at Wildcat, our multi-family group has taken our kids to these mountains now two years in a row, and had repeatedly horrible experiences. We kept thinking it was just a poor match or bad luck, and thought we'd give it another try this winter. Unfortunately both mountains let us down, with two different older, male instructors who clearly are working just for employee benefits and do not have the patience or proper training to work well with kids. In our most recent experience at Attitash, all 3 kids (not tiny ones, mind you - ranging in age from 8 to 12, each with prior skiing and lesson experience) were in tears by mid lesson. The instructor was excessively gruff and curt, and angry with his employer for how they schedule lessons - which he apparently decided to take out on his students. When we had to intervene, he graced us with a monologue about his alleged experience with kids on the autism spectrum - apparently to claim what a sensitive and wonderful teacher he is, and that our childrens' "special needs" must simply be off the charts. This assessment is not only clinically inaccurate, but an absolutely unacceptable excuse for his failure as an instructor. If you want your kids to fall in love with skiing/riding, take them to lessons at any other resort in the area - it's too much of a gamble that you'll end up with one of these guys at Attitash or Wildcat.

This place has come a long way from just a few years ago. I've read the pejorative comments about…read moretheir service, and although we did experience a lack of customer service, such was not the case today. We got here about 1030 AM. From previous experience, we parked at the Bear Lodge parking lot. Their Covid-19 protocols were in force and we were thankful to the staff for them. That continued with minor exceptions, for the entire day. We absolutely love the Bear Peak Lodge area to start the day at Attitash. For starters, the parking area is closer to the lodge. If you arrive early enough, you can park just feet away from the lodge. Even if you arrive later, it's a short walk. The Lodge is one large, functional building with everything within, from support functions to cafeteria, bar and restrooms. From there, it's a level and short walk to the Bear Peak Quad, whisking you to the top with little delay. From there, wonderfully long Blue cruisers and numerous glades are available on the Bear Peak side. As well, several challenging and a few absolutely enjoyable black diamond runs. It is worth noting that although slow, the Abenaki Quad is a nice alternative if one finds themselves on the runs in the Eastern edge of Bear Peak, towards the Attitash Peak. It's a convenient way to get up the mountain without schlepping it on the Bearback trail. From the Bear Peak, the access to Attitash Peak is an easy route, although a bit level in some places. The Summit Triple takes you all the way to the top with amazing - truly spectacular views. However, they're overdue in replacing it. You could read three chapters of Anna Karenina while on the lift. It is exasperatingly slow. The Flying Yankee quad is way faster but it only covers the lower half of the mountain. Although Attitash Peak has the best and most challenging trails, it nonetheless suffers from outdated and some times frustrating infrastructure. Overall, Attitash is well worth a visit. The terrain, views, staff, grooming, glades, and overall experience makes this Vail resort a little gem in the collection.

Cranmore delivered just that and more. Lots of greens and blues where I could work on my skills, try trails with escalating difficulty, and still kick back when I just want to enjoy myself and not be a ball of nerves. I also enjoyed the length and variety of their many trails I could traverse. Was happy to have more options than just a quick up and down in a straight line over a full day of skiing. Their main lift was quick and skiers were able to load efficiently. Lots to look at on the way up. The day of my last visit there were several ski competitions going on just next to the lift so it was fun to watch people competing and see spectators make the trek up to watch as well. Ski patrol were out and about and lots of staff available to check in with as needed. The lodge itself had everything I needed... free cubbies to store your stuff, bench seating to change into your boots, adequate table space both up and downstairs to grab a bite to eat, indoor and outdoor gas fireplaces to huddle by, a bar and hot foods, and best of all... a bathroom at the same level as where you can ski up to so no having to navigate stairs in clunky footwear. Drop off area for skis, quick in and out to purchase tickets, simple walk over to a very large parking area. I can't wait to return when the opportunity arises!

While their lift tickets can be a bit pricy, hitting them up during the shoulder seasons can help with affordability. I've been here in both early winter and late spring and found the trails to be in good condition! As someone who sticks to the greens with an occasional blue mixed in, their trails offer enough variety to keep me entertained throughout the day. I like having my pick of 4 chairlifts and a gondola to check out different sections of the mountain. On my last visit, there was a very challenging weather day the day before my visit and it was clear the staff were hard at work overnight to groom the trails. Throughout the day, they were actively working to open additional trails (at which they were very successful) as well as firing the snow machines to get other parts of the mountain open as soon as possible. The lower lodge is straightforward, offering plenty of seating to change into your ski boots and eat a meal. The food is pricy but we always try to make sure we have options out in the car to manage our costs throughout the day. That isn't unique to this ski resort of course though. The upper lodge at the top of the gondola is nice as well. Unlike the lower lodge, their bathrooms are on the same level as the entrance so no having to manage stairs in clunky boots.
