"Lipstick on a pig" is the expression that comes to mind when I thought about how to describe this hotel. As others have said, they are one of very few lodging options in this area, so they do have a captive audience. The $500/night room rate is ridiculous, considering the lack of any real amenities. It felt like an economy hotel that tricked you into thinking it was fancy using high prices, really nice decor and an espresso machine. There was no soundproofing at all and you could hear every word being said in the next room. Bring your white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. Front desk staff could benefit from hospitality training (smiles are free). On a positive note - great location, the beds were very comfy and pretty fresh flowers in the lobby.

Wonderful experience! The Atticus Hotel is fantastic. It is pricey but you get a boutique experience like nothing else. The bathroom was massive, the bed was super comfortable, and it is super dog friendly. The small touches clearly indicate that the staff make sure each and every inch of this place is built to accommodate. Plus it is located right off the main street in McMinnville.

WOW! If you are coming to McMinnville you have to stay at the Atticus! The entire staff is so warm and welcoming. Rae in particular made us feel so welcome. Hannah did a great job planning our stay and winery visits. The rooms feel like you are staying somewhere that costs two or three time more. The coloring room is cozy and a great place to start your day with an espresso. This is located right in the heart of town with lots of restaurants and tasting rooms in walking distance. I would definitely recommend leaving town and going to the vineyards for tastings if that is what you are in town for. This is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend, board retreat or friends get away!

Perfect place if you are looking for something special. Lots of nice touches that I won't spoil for others. Location is wonderful too for dining, shopping, tasting rooms, if you don't feel like venturing to nearby wineries. No regrets on this splurge.

Let me start off by saying that this is a lovely place to stay. The customer service was exemplary. The room was beautiful, clean and I loved that every door had a different knocker on it. The staff was thoughtful and very informative about what was going on in McMinnville. The room was stocked with complementary tea and coffee from local vendors. We ate breakfast in the restaurant down stairs it was a nice meal. If you are lookfor a romantic holiday weekend or anniversary thus is the place. It is definitely worth the money. Special shout out to Hannah S. for making our anniversary stay special!!

Loved this selection of coffee and teas

Wow! I never thought I would be stopping in McMinnville more than once, but after our stay at the Atticus, it's hard to say never. Almost as if we were at a resort, we were greeted with champagne upon arrival. The 24/7 espresso options and in room French press with coffee and tea were an excellent touch. I loved the fireplaces in the room and the many seating options in and out of our room. Dia, at the front desk, helped pick out and set up our two favorite components of our trip. Every employee was lovely!

I really enjoyed my stay at Atticus! The hotel is very modern and in a central and safe location. Easy free street parking although valet was also available for $15/night. The staff was welcoming and provided complimentary champagne at check in and a McMinnville map with recommendations. I stayed in a studio room and it was definitely sufficient. Not luxe but comfortable and well done. I've never had a nut cracker in-room before so that was a unique touch! Other highlights were the complimentary cappuccino bar in the lobby and the market with a great array of goodies. Check the website for special promotions. I was able to snag a third night free!

This review is long overdue since we had our wedding on 5/29/22. It was such a treat to stay at Atticus Hotel for our wedding weekend since we got married at Furioso Vineyards nearby. They were accommodating, beautiful rooms, and great food on the main floor! It's also where my husband and groomsmen got ready. It will always be a special place!

After a very long drive from Seattle in pretty much the pouring rain.. we pulled up to the Atticus. It's the tallest little building in its neighborhood (which is a great location smack in the center of town). The valet was super attentive and even offered to check us in when he saw the hotel clerk was on another call. I made the reservation via Hotels.com, and they pulled it right up along with offering a complimentary glass of bubbly. Yes please, time to drink after having my eyes peeled on a slippery highway for a few hours. Bubbles are much easier to look at. In the lobby sits several couches and seats made of plush velvet in shades of blue and green, lamps glowing Edison style. There are little antique trinkets and maybe the very first viewfinder ever (very cool). The door knocker (nice knockers) was a hand that I very much shook upon my entrance. lol The room is quite spacious, with a decent sized bathroom to the right (although no shower door, so heat did escape me when showering). The mini fridge is more like a wine chiller (not cold enough to keep my leftovers from dinner, unfortunately), but great for stockpiling your purchased vino from the local vineyards. A tea station complete with honey straws. Thick colorful Aztec looking robes on the wall, a nice sitting area complete with a bowl of local walnuts and hazelnuts, and a cracker! The bed is large and very comfortable. My one real gripe was that when I was searching for the perfect hotel, I checked the box for fireplace, as it's chilly this time of year. Yes, there's a fireplace, but no it's faux. It looks cute, but I would have felt the same heat from the television displaying Alexa's fireplace channel. Maybe ours didn't work, I set the heat to high (only two push buttons), and it was cool all through the night. :/ The phone also has the old school rotary look, but that as well, is just for show. We ate dinner downstairs, and the food was tasty and portions were adequate. When checking out, they have a 24/7 beautiful espresso machine and you can have yourself a complimentary jolt for the drive back! Super fun hotel, a lot of attention for detail, but for the amount of money paid, I expected a working real fireplace.

Room phone fits period decor motif as another design detail.

The location could not get any better. It is so convenient to all of the stores and restaurants. Our unit was like a small apartment. One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

They do respond to complaints, but otherwise it is a DIY operation. Access is with coded door locks. They have excellent free self-parking, but they do not have an elevator to reach the rooms on the second floor. It's actually a flight and a half to the top of the stairs. Decent size guest rooms although ours was an unusual layout. Bathroom sink is in a tiny closet. Unexpected small steps between bedroom and entry area guaranteed to trip the unsuspecting guest on the way to the toilet - in the dark. Their excellent plush towels make up for the tiny shower stall with a shower curtain instead of a glass door. Room #3 has a view of a partially enclose narrow space between the building exterior wall. Somewhere inside this space there is an exhaust fan, probably from the Thai restaurant, that pumps out incredibly strong cooking odors beginning at 6am. Fortunately, they are closed Sundays, so we had one night of relief. They have a small lobby halfway between the ground floor and the guest rooms. Sometimes they have background music and coffee available, sometimes not. Overall, I think the room rates, ours was $300-$330 / night are too high. However, there are not a lot of options in McMinnville near 3rd street.

Was pretty sure I hadn't, but maybe a fair question so I provided my text confirmation. Eventually she located my reservation, which was at this hotel, and shouldn't have been hard to find since I had an electronic confirmation. I had applied a $50 online credit towards my stay (Best Western reward for earlier stays). But the lady at the front desk wanted to charge me the full price of $198. Fortunately I noticed and told her. She asked if I had the "coupon" print out. I said no, it was electronic. So proceeded to show her the email confirmation which she seemed surprised about. She had to manually change the price to $148 which I paid. She then had to go check the room (420) to "make sure it was ready" which I have never had happen at a hotel. A few minutes later she came back and said it was so we got our room. Additionally the Internet was terrible. I had to take one work call (zoom) the next morning before heading out. I was dropped twice from the call and froze several other times throughout. Not a good experience. Then I get home and two days later the charge posts in my credit card for the full $198. So I am disputing with my bank and with Best Western to get this resolved.
