My wife and I stayed at Youngberg Hill, in the Gamay Suite, on Friday, April 11th, and I must say...Absolutely Stunning!!!! The views were amazing! The room was perfect! And each and every interaction with the workers and guests was delightful! I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back in the future!!!

Had such an amazing experience at this beautiful winery/vineyard yesterday. Came out for an Easter event and stuck around afterwards for an impromptu tasting. The owner/winemaker, Wayne, just so happened to be relaxing nearby and we struck up a conversation. From that point, the experience only got better. Even though this was Easter Sunday, Lori and Wayne continued to spoil us with the best service they could offer. On top of the warm hospitality shown by everyone we encountered, the wine was able to match it. From the sparkling to the Pinots to the literally perfect Grenache, there wasn't a wine I did not like. The only thing that could have been better was the weather yet even that didn't matter because the views here are top notch. I can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy them to the fullest! That all said, I couldn't leave without a bag of wine and happily joining their Bailey Membership club tier. Cheers to Wayne, his family & great winemaking.

Tonight's wine is the 2019 Pinot Blanc: Slow forming thick legs; Pale straw color; Pronounced pear notes with maybe a hint of nuttiness; Smooth on the palate with an idyllic tartness to the lingering finish. Outstanding! 94 points Only 100 cases, so may want to snap up a few bottles

Youngberg Hill is a little slice of heaven! Thank you so much to Molly, Becky and the rest of the wonderful staff for an incredible stay! We didn't want to leave! Incredible views, cozy room and deck area, live music on Wednesday nights and delicious breakfast every morning! Also, they make best wine on the planet! Pinot noir perfection!

We have a wine membership at Youngberg Hill and usually we pick up our shipment and do a free tasting at the same time. The views at Youngberg are incredible and the staff is so friendly! They are so knowledgeable about wine and help to create a very epicurean experience. As you are tasting, you will learn where on the property each varietal is grown, and the blocks are named after the winemaker's three daughters. We recently made a trip up here, did a tasting, had a lovely charcuterie board, and actually got to meet one of the daughters, Natasha. The Pinot Noir that is named for her is my favorite wine made at Youngberg. Yes, their wine is truly fantastic, I have loved everything I've ever tried, they have bottles with deep and complex flavors and others with a lighter taste. But tasting it for the first time on the balcony at Youngberg overlooking the valley definitely makes the experience. Also, one of my girlfriends got married here a few years back and the wedding was absolutely gorgeous!

Just one of our incredibly peaceful views

We had an idillic three night stay. Becky, the Director of First Impressions, reached out to confirm our needs and desires before we arrived and greeted us in the roundabout to get us moved in to a second floor suite. The ambiance and views were incredibly peaceful and when combined with the personal "family like" hospitality we were very impressed. My wife and I were unfamiliar with the Youngberg Hill wines, but the complementary daily tastings, impressed us to became wine club members. The hospitality, location, views, wines and Becky's personality and warmth will compel us to return soon.

Perfect place to stay in McMinnville for the ultimate relaxation weekend. We were able to stay here on our Oregon+Seattle roadtrip and were so grateful we did! This unfortunately had to be the last stop on our trip as we had to cancel the second half due to the fires and evacuations throughout Oregon :( The views are hard to beat and you feel right at home since everyone is so friendly. We went for a wine tasting right as we arrived which was a perfect start to our stay! Not only are the rooms cozy, it makes you feel like you are staying in a cabin! It is the ideal mix of cabin vibes inside with Napa views outside! Unfortunately, the fires really put a damper on our view but the experience was nonetheless fabulous. They had corn hole tournaments at night and homemade yogurt parfaits in the morning! A perfect getaway if you are looking for some time to wind down. We came as a family but I imagine that this would be a great place to go as a couple or with other couples as grown ups love to getaway to the wine country! :) One word of advice: because this Inn is so secluded, going out to grab food can be sort of a hassle! Try out the Hometown Xpress (Uber Eats of McMinnville) to get local food or fast food delivered right to your door! Views 10/10 Hospitality 10/10 Overall stay 11/10 Check this little Bed and Breakfast out -- if you are not able to stay overnight then at least for a wine tasting!!

There are so many different wineries around the Willamette Valley, so it's difficult to choose where to go. And of course, the most popular ones will likely be booked up. But my partner found Coeur de Terre and made a reservation for us to visit this winery in the late afternoon, which ended up being a delightful experience. The vineyard is located far from the city, up on a hill, surrounded by other vineyards and orchards. Just the setting itself is worth visiting. The winery with its own vineyard is spacious, with a large, open building that's open for the public. However, where you want to sit is outside on the patio, which overlooks the hills and vineyard. We had a reservation for 4PM on a Sunday, which was the last hour before closing. We tried six different wines: a chardonnay, pinot gris, rose, syrah and two pinot noirs. Now, we came to Oregon wine country because we wanted to explore pinot noirs, which is king in this part of the country. And I can say that the pinot noirs at Coeur de Terre were solid. I normally would not choose a pinot noir, but Coeur de Terre made me a believer. They grow all of their grapes here at the vineyard, and what I liked most about the pinot noirs is that they were more robust than other pinot noirs I've had. I like my reds more bold and heavy, and these pinot noirs were heavier. We had a wonderful experience here, exploring the pinot noirs and taking in the views and setting. The employee who helped us out was friendly, too. I recommend visiting if you're in the area. Tasting is $25 per person, and is waived with a $75 bottle purchase per person.

The tasting area is a section of the winery itself, so you'll see winemakers coming and going, doing their thing, which adds to the whole ambience. Erich with Ricochet and his team have really done an awesome job setting up a fun, warm, relaxing spot for wine tasting. There are picnic tables, cozy little chairs and tables for two, larger tables for groups, and seating at the bar. There's also heaters around which keeps it warm (because wineries can get chilly!). What I really love is that you can not only taste Ricochet wines here, but also wines from their winery partners who also make wine at that location. I think there were 7 other wineries at the time, but that number changes. Tasting flights are $25/person (waived if you are a club member), and you can choose from either an all Ricochet wine flight or the Ricochet et al wine flight, which includes wines from other wineries. We did the et al flight and it was so fun to taste the differences in winemaking styles. So many great winemakers making delicious wines in one spot! You can also book a tour and tasting for $65/person. Definitely make a reservation for that in advance, although they do take walk-ins for the regular tastings. Our forever favorite is the Ricochet Tempranillo, made with grapes from the Les Collines Vineyard in Walla Walla. It's my favorite vineyard; every wine I've ever had from that vineyard has been amazing. Zane who is also the winemaker of Ze Wines was the one guiding us through our tasting, and Zane is always so knowledgeable and makes wine tasting FUN. The winery is located about 45 minutes to an hour from Portland, depending on where you start. I suggest making a day of it and enjoying lunch or dinner in one of McMinnville's great restaurants (Humble Spirit is a fave!). There's plenty of parking in the winery's parking lot. Definitely add this spot to your wine tasting itinerary! Take it from someone who goes wine tasting a lot: this is an incredible opportunity to taste incredible, unique wines (not just Pinot Noir!) from a lot of different wineries in one spot. We will most definitely be back!!
