We were greeted at the desk by Ryan with a glass of their sister winery's rose and then proceeded on a tour of the inn. It is a small boutique inn with only about 18 rooms total. I believe while we were there, there may have been maybe 4-5 other couples (that we only saw at breakfast). It is just a lovely place with a sitting room with a huge fireplace, a quaint breakfast room, and several patio areas with fire pits overlooking the valley. One firepit stays on all the time (already I was excited to "need" a firepit in August!). Ryan then walked us across the entryway to a separate smaller building and into our room which was the Deluxe Valley View room...with glass doors that opened directly onto a sweet little patio with adirondack chairs and table overlooking the vineyard. We spent every morning here drinking tea before breakfast and most evenings here drinking wine before bed. And speaking of breakfast! Every morning was a treat...several options you can choose from, mix and match your pastry with your fresh fruit with your main dish with your beverage with your coffee, all a great way to bellywad before a day of wine tastings! One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

Everything you need is right in your room. It is in the downtown area where there are plenty of restaurant choices for breakfast or dinner. We always had lunch at the wineries. You can even go antique shopping. The building was constructed in 1912. It was completely remodeled in 2016. It was originally built as a hotel with 30 single sleeper units. Now there are 14 units. IF THE WALLS COULD ONLY TALK!!! I wish I would have taken pictures prior to us unloading our luggage. Oh well.

The house sits in a quiet neighborhood, just a short walk to historical downtown main street and all the wine tasting rooms and restaurants. Martha is also quite the gardener and Her back yard space is inviting and the deck is a pleasure to relax on and listen to birds, enjoy a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. The water fall and pond are a beautiful touch too. Martha is a connoisseur, a fine cook and always has the freshest fruit and produce around, I just Love Her! Our room also had an electric fireplace, which was nice. There was no TV, but that wasn't an issue for us. This is their handicapped accessible room, so there were extra shower and toilet seat handle bars. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two amazing breakfasts prepared by Ayelet. Over the two days, we were treated to blueberry French Toast, a poached pear, homemade bread, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, blueberry scones, and a baked apple. Plus a selection of their homemade jelly/jam. A lot of the ingredients were sourced right from the property. While we ate, Ayelet asked us about our plans for the day, and she offered super helpful suggestions on what to do, where to go, what to eat. She even gave us printed maps! Some other noteworthy items: you get one free T-shirt with your stay; you have a choice of breakfast at 8 or 9 am; there are coolers, sunscreen, and sunglasses you can borrow; they ask your breakfast beverage of choice and usually have it out in the dining room an hour before your breakfast time; there are always homemade cookies, water, and glasses by the mini fridge; you can buy their homemade jam/jelly as well as T-shirts, mugs, coasters, etc. We loved our stay here. The view was gorgeous, the food was delicious, our room was comfortable, and Ayelet was amazing!

The property does not have a bbq but the owner when I asked about a bbq provided a small beach bbq. Not what I would use, but nonetheless a very nice gesture on her part. There is one minor complaint that I am sure it will be remedied after the owners reads this. Their website says "Please note, the kitchen comes with the right tools and service ware, you will need to provide all of the food." This is not quite accurate. We found no pots and the skillets were older and of poor quality. For $200.00 the owner could go to Costco and reoutfit the house with new pots and pans and a few utensils. I suspect they will do so after reading this because I believe they are do care about their customers' stay. This obviously is not a problem if you only eat at restaurants. In summary, I highly recommend this rental though I hope the owners will take my small complaint to heart. Five stars when they upgrade the pots and pans. Bill

Basically, it was your basic crispy chicken sandwich on a hamburger bun with carrot, veggie ribbons, and jalapeno slices found in a normal Banh Mi sandwich. I've not had that sandwich with a bun before; I prefer the baguette to the bun. Didn't get napkins, and no ketchup. Did get ranch for my tots, though. Service, as with many McMenamins, was a bit lacking. No one came by to check on me after my food delivery or even asked if I needed anything else when it was delivered. Sadly, it's kind of what you come to expect from McMenamins' establishments. Cool atmosphere and generally good food but spotty service. Maybe the McM brothers should do like on that undercover boss show and visit their establishments incognito. Perhaps then the service will improve.
