Beautiful property, gorgeous rooms, the BED gave me some of the best sleep I've had in a while. I even considered asking what brand of pillows and bedding they use. Thoughtful service, complimentary breakfast with generous portions. Everything tasted so fresh and homemade. It was perfect to wake up to after wine tasting all day prior. Cured my wine hangover quick, hallelujah. The location is incredible too. In the heart of Dundee, it's nearby countless wineries. Yet the property still felt very private and quiet. My best friend and I (both young women) felt incredibly safe and no weird vibes. This b&b has reminded me what true hospitality looks like. Lovely small boutique hotel in Dundee that was cute and clean with great service. Our room was small, but nicely done, other that the art was hung way too high and there was no where to sit and be comfortable. Breakfast was served down stairs and was a lot with a nice fruit cup, omelet, toast (even gluten free) coffee and a banana for the road. It's a lovely home that just needs a tiny bit more ambiance. This is a sweet bed and breakfast conveniently located near a bunch of great wineries. The inn was built in 2014, so unlike typical B&Bs, there are amenities like power plugs near your bedside and other comforts you'd expect in a modern hotel, yet it still maintains an intimate country inn vibe. On our most recent trip here we stayed in the Lorraine room, which was exceptionally clean, with a great plush King bed and warm fireplace. Despite all 8 guest rooms being booked, we never heard a peep from others until we went downstairs for breakfast in the morning. The gracious owners Mark and Elizabeth offer a selection of tasty homemade breakfast items, all served in their nice dining area, patio (on warmer days) or even in your room if you prefer. We particularly like the excellent coffee, the breakfast sandwich, fresh fruit and cinnamon scones. If you're there when they offer the cinnamon apple dutch baby, don't hesitate to get that! We have stayed at this bed and breakfast twice now and for multiple days and it is AMAZING!!! We feel like we're at home when we come and the food is SO SOOO delicious! Everything we've tried is so good (and we basically try it all) but I crave the scones that they have. The breakfast sandwich is WOW also!! They make their own bread and pastries and they are truly something special. My husband and I get excited every morning for the amazing food! The owners are so dear and very kind to talk to. We recently stayed at La Bastide for three nights with several of our friends on a wine tasting trip. Our room was very comfortable. Putting the gas fireplace on for a little while kept the room warm on a rainy night. The breakfasts were fantastic. Well prepared, good variety, and plenty to choose from. Mark and Elizabeth were very accommodating of our party, moving tables together so we could dine as a group. The grounds are beautiful, and if it hadn't rained, we would have enjoyed the back patio with its fountain and gardens. Mark and Elizabeth were gracious hosts, helping some of our party who arrived late and others who had to depart early. They made great recommendations for dinner spots nearby. Such a cute BandB!!!!! My hubby and I spent a romantic weekend here in Dundee over Memorial Day weekend. The room was so beautiful, clean and comfortable!!!! (We stayed in the Burgundy room) We were treated with bottles of water and a couple Honest Chocolates each day!!! YUM!!! There was a private bathroom, fireplace, flat screen TV, and a small dining area. Breakfast was served every morning between 8:30-9:30. The ladies were SUPER accommodating for any food dislikes or allergies. There were also options to have breakfast packed up to go!!! Each meal was listed on a chalkboard the night before so you knew what you were waking up to. Everything was amazing!!! But my favorites were the grilled grapefruit with toasted coconut and coconut cream and the Sweet Potato hash!!! (I sort of emphasized this, but they can very easy accommodate for vegan or vegetarian.... the housemade coconut cream is to DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!) They have a great set up with a large dining room area. There they always have hot water for tea, a keurig for coffee, chocolates, a fridge for any leftovers you are savings or open wine bottles, and complimentary water bottles, sparkling water, soda and juice!!!!! There was also a great living room area with a TV, books, and board games. They also had cabinets with stemware and cork screws for any wine you purchased locally that you wanted to enjoy. We ended up staying in one night with a pizza and a bottle of wine. So nice there was a good common area we could relax without having to feel we had to stay cooped up in our room. The entire landscape is open which is beautiful! In the backyard we noticed a croquet set. Would be nice if they had some other game options or installed a hot tub to watch the sunset. The property sits right next door to Hyland. Totally in walking distance of their tasting room!!! Although there are many other tasting rooms and wineries all within a 2 mile radius!!! Next time we are in Dundee, we will definitely be back staying here!!! read more

I am forever spoiled from staying in a hotel. I have noticed that services have been dwindling at hotels, but not the rates. I am continuously disappointed when I stay at a hotel or "resort". But La Bastide is the diametric opposite of that. Mark and Elizabeth made me feel that I was staying a friends home and with amazing hospitality! The rooms are beautiful and VERY clean (very important to me and I am picky) and the wonderful breakfasts served in the morning were delicious and not the standard fare. I loved spending the evenings in the parlor with a glass (or 4) of wine and playing games with my friends. And it really is close to everything while being a little off to the side in a quite area. The location of this incredible B and B is perfect for anyone interested in sampling the Willamette Valley wines. There was also a very detailed brochure of non-wine tasting options - Hoover's boyhood home, an air museum, lots of hiking options, cute little historic cities to wander around. The best features of this B and B were the gourmet breakfasts and the superbly accommodating hosts - Mark and Elizabeth. We were there for eight nights and loved every minute. The sitting room and the back patio with the water fountain and umbrellas made it easy to find a cozy spot to read, enjoy a glass of wine or just chat. read more

My husband booked us a room here for my birthday. The room was absolutely beautiful. Nice TV, fireplace and comfy sofa in the room as well as a very comfortable bed. They even provided wine glasses and a cork screw so we could enjoy wine in our room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were expats in Europe for many years and have had opportunities to stay at some of the very best B&Bs in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain - many cities in these countries... La Bastide ranks among the very best. Clean, large room, warm hospitality, facilities for water, soft drinks, coffee... and a wonderful breakfast. Mike and Elizabeth, as great hosts, stay in the background but are there whenever you need a response from them. Location is great too... Wonderful restaurants nearby as well as a short trip to either Newberg or McMinnville. Of course, many wineries are nearby... Just a great place. BTW - we also took a walk toward Hyland and NW Wine and had a wonderful walk...among the vines. read more

Will start by saying 10/10 recommend/is a must visit and stay. I'll be thinking about our stay here for the next few months for sure. The location is perfect if you're looking to do some local nature stops and wine tasting. Mark and Elizabeth were absolutely wonderful and provided THEE best service I've experienced at a B&B. They're very kindly open to last minute accomodations, provide a number for you to text if you need room service, wifi, etc., and they'll even make reservations for you at any of the wineries or restaurants they recommend as well as provide you with a list of things to do in the area (both wine and non-wine activities/spots to visit). And the breakfast...woowee. Needless to say, I only have positive things to say about our two nights there. Even considering covid, we felt completely comfortable and at ease, as masks are required when not in your room, not to mention everything is spotless. We also noticed that each tasting room we visited who knew of La Bastide only had nice things to say :) Again, 10/10 will return and am looking forward to it. Hopefully next time we'll be able to stay longer as well. read more

Mark and Elizabeth were great hosts. The rooms were meticulously clean, pretty, airy, and in our room, we had a great gas fireplace and tub (Burgundy Room). We booked a night at the last minute via a travel website, and when we arrived told them about the weird diet I am currently on (keto). We ordered the cheese plate with our room and it was a lovely combination of fresh sweet fruit, yummy cheeses, and spicy/sweet hazelnuts. Elizabeth and Mark are absolutely incredible! They are beyond wonderful hosts, they truly treat you like one of their own. La Bastide is one of the most beautiful places to stay in wine country, it is close to several vineyards and is the most lovely place to stay! The best part about the stay however, is the breakfast. It is beyond unbelievable, with so many options (including veggie, gluten free, etc) and is absolutely divine. We loved our stay here so much this is our second time staying and I used it to host my parents and in-laws for our pre-wedding lodging. It was spectacular. Nothing beats La Bastide. This is a cozy Dutch colonial styled house, a great place to stay when you are visiting the wineries at Dundee Hills. Elizabeth and Mark are very hospitable, friendly and attentive. The breakfasts are delicious home-made melas with enough choices for everyone. The innkeepers are doing their best to source as much locally as possible to make breakfasts. The locally roasted coffee was perfect -- strong and delicious which my husband and I absolutely loved. Our room Alsace was clean and beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. The place is beautiful & people extremely nice, accommodating. We stayed one night due to flying in for our sisters wedding. Had a great night at the wedding, came to the room, it was spacious. The bed was very hard and pillows were flat.At about 2am we had a power outage & there is no back up generator so we couldn't use the restrooms or shower. I couldn't see to put any make up on. It did not ruin my day of course but for 250.0 a night, I guess you would expect a back up plan. Breakfast was included which was nice, the fruit served was great, probably would've been a bit better served cool but with the power out I'm sure cold foods were warming up. The French toast was something I've never had before, it had figs in it, halved & cooked. With walnuts and a different kind of spice. I was not a huge fan of the French toast. We would much prefer just a couple over easy eggs, bacon & potatoes. Overall the place is beautiful, but a bit over priced for what we got for our stay :-/ First time at a bed & breakfast, next time I'm sticking with a hotel. read more

My husband and I stayed at La Bastide Thanksgiving weekend and had a great time there. Elizabeth, Mark, and staff were all great. We stayed in the Champagne room which is on the first floor, furthest from the common area which had a very comfy bed, couch, gas fireplace and private bathroom. Overall the house was very clean and cozy. The breakfast each morning was fresh and creative - coming from the city life, any home cooked breakfast is great but this was very good. Each meal came with some sort of fruit first course (yogurt parfait, fresh fruit with coconut cream, etc.) and then a second course (apple dutch sausage pie and egg sausage frittata for example). The B&B is located on the same grounds of Hyland Estate Winery - tasting room is about a 5min walk down the road - very convenient! Yes, there was an excessive amount of fruit flies by our last day but everywhere we went in Willamette Valley had the same issue - mostly because they just finished harvesting. I imagine once its colder they won't be around - there is no way to escape them. Down the road, you also have Dundee Bistro and Red Hills Market and other restaurants. In the other direction, you have other wineries within a 5-15 min drive - so everything is very central. For only being 45min out of Portland city - this is a great spot and would recommend! read more
