Our excitement was met with disappointment in cleanliness of exterior of property and inability to enjoy until issues were resolved in a timely manner over a 2 day period of our 4 day stay. Day 1- Trash was not removed from exterior of guest house. Upstairs patio and chairs at guest house stained with bird dropping and smashed cherries, as were the downstairs outside couches. Called ITrip operations who sent the groundskeeper to resolve issue. He never did wash down the patio. Same night, we wanted to enjoy our dinner to experience the beautiful weather. We were unable to remove the layers of dirt on the patio dining table at Manor and had to eat dinner inside. Day 2- We noticed outside chairs at Manor were dirty and did not sit on it, as were the chairs around fire pit. Called ITrip operations again to tell first tell them Day 1 patio cleaning was not properly done, and that my HUSBAND washed and scrubbed it himself. Then proceeded to tell them about newly noticed issues. Operations sent someone in a timely manner. He was the plumber, Victor who scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed...did an AMAZING job!!! Also told him our a/c was warm and not working properly. He tried to resolve, and advised if not cooled by Day 3 to call management._ Day 3- After sleeping 2 nights in warm stuffy condition, had to call management again to notify....they could not promise someone could come out. After waiting a few hours it was evident a/c was not working and sent text message that conditions warranted an emergency service call. An a/c expert arrived shortly thereafter and confirmed major issue with a/c system in guest house. He managed to get it cool enough for us to enjoy sleeping. Day 4- Finally all issues resolved the day before we were to check out. _ Check out day- Post wedding celebration, we requested a late check out but no response. We quickly packed up so as to not get charged. House cleaners arrived as the last of us were about ready to leave. We told her everything except a/c issue in guest house. She confirmed it ALL should have been completed prior to our arrival, and that we could have had a late check out since no one was scheduled to arrive in a couple of days. Moreover and probably the most concerning was an undisclosed RV above the property was being occupied by groundskeepers who had codes to access the homes. Terrifying if all females stayed at the property. Exterior night lighting around grounds insufficient, making it dangerous. The amount of money we paid to stay was overpriced for the non-privacy and condition it was delivered in. Above all else, interior of both homes were very clean, the beds were comfortable, bathroom amenities excellent, expansive outside space and private lake was enjoyable. Response time and maintenance resolution by ITrips operations was impressive, however, I'm still waiting for the property manager to call me, it's been 7 days Might recommend to others with but with caveats. read more

I echo everyone's comments here. Bruce and Susan could not be kinder; their food recommendations, their food recommendations, and their directions are all spot on. The rooms are extremely well cleaned, and the beds are soft yet firm, topped off by some 600 thread sheet linens. They are very laid back about breakfast time, saying "It's your vacation, not ours." The particular morning we awoke to chanterelle mushroom gravy and a poached egg over waffles. Oh wow. A perfect breakfast so prepare you for a long day of wine tasting. I would have to say of the 6-8 places we called, they were probably the most affordable for the location, but there is not an ounce of quality or service that demands a lower night's stay. Be sure and tell Mondo and Rizzo, the two dogs on site, we say hello. read more

We stayed at this B&B during a recent trip to visit Willamette Valley area wineries. Bruce and Susan couldn't have been any more accommodating and Bruce cooks an amazing breakfast. The rooms were great and the property is serene and relaxing. More importantly, Bruce and Susan not only know the local area but know the local people. They gave great recommendations on places to eat as well as recommending a driver for one of the days we were there. They don't accept kickbacks by the way, so referrals are genuine. read more

BEAUTIFUL PLACE BUT HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: Let me just start off by saying (the managers and staff always change throughout the booking) when we booked the place with a staff by the name Dan, we paid a Wedding fee, protection fee and all the payment fees. For all the month we've been waiting for our special day, we got 3 different confirmations and new contracts from different agencies, we were so confused, literally felt like we were being scammed. We got our final confirmation a day before and came the next day to find out that the lady from whatever was waiting for us there. I was not informed of that. Coming to the house, we have noticed Giant ants crawling everywhere, including the bed. The staff member who came to the house was a witness of the situation, apologizing and vacuuming the ants. She called the maintenance, he came and disinfected and vacuumed the ants, again that didn't change the situation the ants were still there. Therefore, we didn't use 2 of the rooms because of that, we had to move from there because of the ants crawling under the bed, on the bed and all around, it made me uncomfortable and everyone else. The Garbage can was not empty, full of garbage, the bottle can was full of hard liquor. On the day of the wedding event the staff member by the name of Cheyenne I believe or Shannon, she came and ruined my big day what I paid for calling me a liar many times in front of many witnesses. She approached me rudely with an abusing voice, yelling that she's the owner of the entire property, people were calming me down because I was in tears, crying, my makeup that I paid money for was completely RUINED. It delayed the ceremony by one hour. She stepped on my dress again approaching me, she was so rude and disrespectful. She started harassing my entire family, she started telling me and everyone that she's closing the house down, she will evict all the people attending my event (that I paid for extra $500 WEDDING FEE oh and $100 event protection fee) and she came barging into every room with personal belongings, money laying, my marriage certificate which disappeared after her appearance which I couldn't sign on my wedding day again I have witnesses who can say that there was no certificate including my pastor who attended. She BROKE into one of the rooms with girls inside and aggressively asked them to leave and closed the room with all of the belongings (those people were my family members. She was walking around the house, taking pictures, yelling at everyone (yelling at my family who was there screaming actually) she looked insane, possessed I would say. Yelling at my mom (screaming I would say, her face was very red) when my mom asked how much we would pay to stop this harassment she said $1500, she was forcing us to pay this money or else she'd evict us, without any papers she asked for money, she called everyone liars straight to our faces almost spitting, when my mom told her she has no right to be there she blew up (she had no right, this is a house rental we paid for and signed, she had absolutely NO RIGHTS TO BE THERE) what if my family members were naked for God's sake and she came in without knocking, my aunt not speaking English was shocked at how she was being treated by this Cheyenne, or Shannon. After paying $1500 FOR HER TO LEAVE and taking our precious time ruining my perfect day completely, taking my best friends time to calming this Cheyenne or Shannon down (my friend missed the ceremony because of her) she left after getting her paycheck (earned money for her harassment basically). PLEASE think twice before you stay here, the management thinks they can come any day and at anytime to check up on you, and if you ever try to book with them you'll always see and hear from different people and not one person, that is not how it works. I'm an Airbnb owner, I don't check up on my guests while they're using my home. Horrible experience, my husband and I are still in shock, the management hasn't done anything to simply apologize and resolve this issue. Now I will be doing everything on my end to solve it. read more

My boyfriend and I ran a half-marathon in Dundee, Oregon in July and stayed at the Brookside Inn B&B off Abbey Road. This was my first time at a B&B and the experience was simply fabulous! Susan, the owner and innkeeper was a wonderful hostess and prepared breakfast every morning of our stay. Not to mention the best coffee I have ever had and I have traveled the world and had lots of coffee in my lifetime! Anyway, I highly recommend Brookside if you are ever in Dundee, Carlton, or Portland. It's a great location for wine tasting and it doesn't get any greener and secluded than this! 5 stars from Bustinwheels! read more

Our group of six stayed at the Brookside Inn for a few days in October, and we were thrilled with the whole experience. The facilities and property are beautiful, the location is an easy drive to several wineries, and Susan's breakfasts were outstanding. Susan was very helpful in helping plan our trips to the wineries and to the surrounding towns for dinners. My husband and I stayed here over Thanksgiving, and loved our entire visit. We'd driven in from Seattle and we're amazed by how picturesque and quiet the whole property was, from the stocked fishing pond to organic garden and wooded hill just behind the inn. It took me a full day to adapt to the stillness of the beautiful countyside. Being just across from the Trapist Abbey and minutes from dozens of wineries was great, and we benefited from the hosts' local knowledge and recommendations. Our room was great, and the food was delicious. This was the perfect destination for our family reunion, and I imagine would also be a good fit for corporate or non profit retreats. read more

Wife and I stayed here in August 2016. Photos are accurate: the space is beautiful. Location is great: Carlton is an awesome base to stay if you are hitting any of the Ribbon Ridge/Dundee wineries. We were told the rooms were renovated a year ago or so, and that looks/feels accurate. Breakfast is a little family style, vs. white glove service etc. but that was fine for me and my wife. Husband and wife team run the inn, and cook breakfast from scratch and are a delight. Grounds are beautiful with a lake, trees, trails, acres of greenery we did not explore, a vegetable garden, fresh-on-premise eggs etc. Just a very good location in the heart of wine country for a picturesque & quiet scene. read more

What an amazing experience we had at the Brookside Inn! We arrived on Saturday for our one night stay around 6:00 pm. Jerry and Erica greeted us like casual friends. The property is beautiful, with its pond and the landscape. It was so peaceful that we promptly fell asleep in the very nice room! (BTW - the shower is fantastic!) Even though we woke up after Happy Hour, Jerry brought us a plate of meats & cheeses. The evening was so serene as we walked the property after dark. Breakfast was delicious & again, we woke up late, but they saved us breakfast & so we sat & enjoyed it while having a great conversation with Jerry & Erica. We had such an amazing time we decided that after wine tasting we were going to stay another night!! For only owning & operating the Inn for the past 8 months, it's really amazing to see how much of themselves they have already put into the naturally beautiful getaway. You can't help but leave feeling more peaceful, relaxed & centered. Great place to lose yourself in contemplation, exploration, relaxation or whatever you need! Just got back from a trip to the Northwest. Stayed for a few days at the Brookside Inn. Can't say enough wonderful things about it! Susan was the most gracious host and cooks a mighty fine breakfast too! She was very helpful with tips and advice about the local restaurants and wineries.
