Charming rooms, polished hardwood floors, labryinth front yard. The host of the B & B was amazing. How she acquired the place and her life story was enjoyable and amazingly entertaining. Silverton is a quaint town as well as surrounding towns. read more

This is a 1890 B&B with detailed furnishings, comfortable beds. The host is quite nice, and left us port and nuts upon our return out. However, very disappointed with the breakfast. The rooms are close to 200 a night and all we got was granola, yogurt and fruit? That's usually the starter, with a main item to come. We got one English muffin to split! So, if a breakfast person, I would not recommend this place. read more

Like many first-tier B&Bs, the Adams House has charming rooms, polished hardwood floors, an exquisite outdoor garden and pagoda, and sumptuous breakfasts, along with evening snacks and silver tray coffee and tea service in the morning. It's a historic landmark house in a picturesque mid-Willamette Valley location East of Salem and within easy striking distance of the Cascade Mountains as well as many of Oregon's prime winery destinations. It's not even that far to the coast, for that matter, or to marvelous state parks like Silver Falls, one of Oregon's most popular for locals and outside visitors alike. The downtown is quaint, walkable, and classy, with excellent shopping, coffee, and dining out options (esp. the Silver Grille). And of course the owner, Nancy K., is approachable, animated, and articulate, making you feel smarter and more sophisticated simply by being in her presence. The rooms upstairs (there are 3) have distinctive flair and unique features: Sara Jane's room has a wonderful Victorian "fainting couch," which is comfortable enough to fall asleep on (trust me on this). Eleanor's room has an octagonal turret in the tiled bathroom which lets light pour in and reflect off the pale white walls and porcelain surfaces. If you haven't taken an actual reclining bath in a long while, this is your chance. But for all these amenities - and they are indeed impressive - the most remarkable feature of Adams House is the library and LP record collection, which Nancy has meticulously organized in one of the second floor rooms and made available for guest use. I spent several hours perusing the book shelves on my first visit, reading, browsing, and jotting down titles and authors of interest. It was like being in a bookstore. On my second visit, I ventured into the music collection, starting with a beautiful recording from 1955 of Glenn Gould's "Goldberg Variations" by J.S. Bach. Inspired by the experience, I went back to the shelves and located a recording from the 1980s by a Czech pianist of Beethoven's "Diabelli Variations." By the time I was done listening, breakfast was ready. What a nice way to start the morning, don't you think? Visiting Silverton and staying at Adams House is not so much "stepping back" in time as it is "stepping sideways" in time: moving horizontally away from the routines of your regular days and nights and experiencing, however briefly, an alternative universe: one in which music still plays on records, books still are written on paper, and tea is still served on silver in fine china. It's easy to appreciate - and hard to leave behind when you return to the road. I doubt that you will be disappointed by your initial visit. You'll likely return in the future, just to make sure that it wasn't just a dream, after all. read more

Wow! What a gem! This little house was amazingly charming inside and out. From the well kept gardens outside to the meticulous attention to detail on the inside, the Edward Adams House blew us away! I've stayed in many B&B's before and this one is at the top of the list. My wife and I stayed here for one night last weekend while we attended a wedding at the nearby state park. The house itself has only 3 rooms, but the owner of the house can accommodate slightly larger groups if she opens up her attic room. As for the 3 bedrooms, we were the only guests on this night, so we got a tour of all of them. They were all unique and equally charming and cozy in their own way. The owner was super sweet and you could tell she was passionate about her house and taking care of her guests. Her breakfast was delicious! And we really appreciated her giving us the tour and describing little things here and there about the house. As for the price, I'm not sure. My wife paid for it, but I think it was a little pricey when compared to our other option, which was camping a night at Silver Falls State Park. But we had no regrets. It was worth it, especially for one night. read more

Where do I begin? This place is stunning and Nancy is the absolute best host! My husband and I stayed here because the family we were visiting has cats and we wanted to hang out at the house the whole time but couldn't! We will definitely be back, breakfast was delicious and the house is beautiful built in 1890! Nancy makes this place what it is, and it's so warm and welcoming! read more

Edward Adams House B&B - Bedroom - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Silverton, Oregon

Nancy is an absolute superior host, always concerned about her guests as to what they like to eat and comfort in your room and stay. The house is beautiful, clean with decorating to meet the time period of the home. The outside grounds are beautiful along with the garden, flowers and loved the wisteria on the house such an elegant look. Close to be able to walk to town and enjoy the restaurants and local stores. We hiked at Silverton Falls which is so beautiful. Would definitely return again. read more

We are not typically B'n'B types, but this was one of the most wonderful experience we've had at ANY get away lodging adventure out! We'll be returning, for sure. -------------------------What did we love? ~The coffee delivered our room in the morning (NICE touch!). ~The wonderful jetted tub in our octagonal bathroom (extra perk, we stayed during a full moon so the bathroom was lit up so beautifully with all those incredible windows!). It was stunning! ~The wardrobe to put our clothes/shoes/bathroom stuff away so we could breathe and relax in an uncluttered room and bathroom. ~Very clean and neat-- I'm not a fan of Victorian era decor, but obviously she tried to keep things historically accurate and THAT was appreciated as I do love history. She kept it to the time period, but so simple and quiet that we were not overwhelmed with lace and flowers. THANK YOU! ~Breakfast was simple and delicious. She even served homemade granola and scones. The serve wear caught my eye and made the food more beautiful as well. Her presentation was appealing. ~The host, Nancy, is a great story teller and wonderful resource for local must sees as well as very knowledgeable about the community. She is also not overly chatty. I think she's developed a good sense of who wants to chat and who wants to be on their way. We were probably a bit of both but in the end she is such a fascinating person you want to talk more with her! ~Conveniently located - we walked into downtown for our dinner one evening. ~Bathrobes! :) I love it when there are bathrobes. The website didn't mention it at all, but they were a nice surprise and made our stay even better. ~The Wifi was strong. That's a big deal to us young'ns. :) ~She had light snacks available downstairs at all times. Very nice! ----------------------------What could have been improved? ~Not much, if anything! ~We found the keys a bit hard to use, but that's because they're SO unique and again, accurate for the time period... it's actually kind of cool! I was more impressed with them than annoyed. ~A note on Elenor's Room (http://www.edwardadamshousebandb.com/eleanors-room.php.html). We didn't read the description well before booking and was surprised when we found a European style bath/shower (which means it was a tub with a handheld shower only). It was a bit awkward to figure out without spraying water everywhere, but we got the hang of it by the next morning. :) I didn't mind it as much as my husband but I think he would prefer a different room the next time we come. Bottom line, it was not a distraction from our relaxation. I would definitely advise older people who have a hard time with large movements to not stay in this room. It might be a bit of a difficulty to climb in and out. ------------------------if you're not used to Bed and Breakfast Inns: ~Old houses have thin walls. This isn't anything we were surprised by and simply one of those things that makes staying in BnB's less desirable to us. We had quiet neighbors so it wasn't that big of a deal, but I was worried they might have heard me playing music from my ipod. I like to soak in the tub with some relaxing tunes but even at my lowest volume I questioned what they could hear. ...along with that: No Noisy Sex! Keep it down! ~I would really like to just sleep in in the morning rather than tidy myself up to come down to breakfast. It was 8:30am which isn't that big of a deal to most people, but when you have a toddler at home, it's an incredible luxury to just STAY in bed in the morning. Nancy, the host is quite accommodating, though. I think if we had simply requested a later breakfast she likely would have been fine with that. We're not very well versed on BnB's so it felt awkward to ask. All the guests have to pretty much agree on a time that works for everyone. The second morning I didn't bother to take my bath before I went down. :) I just came down in my exercise clothes and no shoes. No harm done. ~If you are an introvert, you should hope you don't have a chatty house mate. :) Or, learn how to politely excuse yourself. I'm still working on that skill. If you're an extrovert, you might meet some new friends! ~No TV. This is normal and intentional. Enjoy it! :) read more

We were delighted by our stay with Nancy in Silverton--this beautifully restored Edwardian home was spotlessly clean and filled with delights. A lovely garden, a music room, our in-room fainting couch, homemade granola and banana bread for breakfast, and delicious port and fresh cookies before bed! Silverton itself is a storied town (Wiki it before you come), the gateway to many beautiful hikes, parks, and acres of Christmas tree farms. Nancy is knowledgeable and helpful about both the house and the area, and we very much enjoyed her cooking and hospitality. The only literal glitch was spotty network, but the house is so charming and restful we were happy to put our devices down and enjoy the impeccable atmosphere. Definitely would stay again and I've never had a better chocolate chip macaroon in my life (they were even gluten-free)! read more

Our stay at Edward Adams house was a delight! Nancy had a concert to play that evening, so we had the house to ourselves~ we played the piano, listened to the aforementioned record collection, and drank some (complimentary) delicious port Nancy set out for us. There are some truly beautiful pieces of antique furniture in the house, The rooms are all pretty and elegant, but the one we stayed has an octagonal bathroom that is gorgeous. Windows let in the fall light as we took a nice hot bath in the whirlpool tub. Morning was equally wonderful, with nice strong coffee set out for us, yummy food, and gracious hosting. Thank you for providing the perfect romantic getaway, Edward Adams house! read more

The Edward Adams House B & B in Silverton was a pleasant surprise. We bypassed Portland, and this is where we stayed instead. The owner is a classically-trained violinist, and played in the Los Angeles area for many years. The house has been lovingly and knowledgeably restored, and is pleasant, clean, and delightful. We received a coffee tray in front of our door in the morning, and chocolate cherry liqueur when we got in in the evenings. Breakfast was home-made baked oatmeal, quiche, and granola with yogurt (one each day). We liked it so much that we stayed an extra day. Silverton and the Oregon Garden were also charming. read more

Edward Adams House B&B - Front of the house. - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Silverton, Oregon

The Edward Adams House is a beautiful Victorian that has been loved back to its period state. Our room was comfortable, clean, and charming. The house sits within a short and easy walk to Downtown Silverton, a fun place to browse through shops; and enjoy wine, coffee, or beer, and tasty meals. The Farmer's Market and covered bridge are an equally easy stroll from the B&B. Nancy is a lovely, intelligent, and fascinating hostess, and she just so happens to be a fantastic chef, baker, and conversationalist! We appreciated her sensitivity to offering the perfect amount of visiting and privacy. We are looking forward to visiting Silverton and staying at The Edward Adams House again. read more

It's the little touches: I stayed on the weekend in late October, '13 in Sara Jane's room, booking at the last minute on-line, following up by phone. A+ experience. It's the little touches: - Port, fresh fruit, almonds and cookies set out for me upon arrival - Fresh flowers at the breakfast table; a soufflé, fresh scones and juice - Excellent, strong, piping hot coffee outside my door first thing in the morning - Information and recommendations on local restaurants and attractions from the hostess that were spot on - Immaculately clean rooms - Terrycloth bathrobe and an immaculately clean bathroom - Old fashioned skeleton keys for your room - A warm and friendly hostess The only negative was that the WiFi connection from Sara Jane's room was poor. It's a positive in my mind, but be aware that the rooms do not have televisions. This is (in my mind) the quintessential bed and breakfast, in a lovely little town that values visitors. I can't wait to go back to Edward Adams. read more

Our stay with Nancy at the Edward Adams House couldn't have made our little trip to Silverton more perfect. It was absolutely precious. I am a hotel snob and I'll be the first to admit it. I like new, updated, luxury accommodations, and WOW this completely surpassed my expectations. Husband did GOOD. We were the only ones staying in the house that night and Nancy sweetly greeted us with excitement and enthusiasm upon our arrival. She showed us around and had homemade chocolate chip macaroons waiting for us (delish btw). She told us her background, about her late husband, and about Elvis! My husband played some records in the music room as we got ready to head out to dinner. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom pretty and quaint. The next morning, she delivered tea to our room as we got ready for breakfast - which was all HOMEMADE and DELICIOUS! She had a beautiful spread of homemade blueberry muffins (from her friends garden), homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, and smoothies. We had GREAT conversation with Nancy and got to learn about her life and her children. She is an absolute GEM and we look forward to our next visit with her at the Edward Adams House. read more

Loved our stay here. The historic home was quaint and comfortable and our host made sure we had a great time. She also made a great breakfast and kept everything running smoothly. Silver Falls hikes are close and so beautiful. I'm not outdoorsy at all and really enjoyed the hike, then coming back to rest. read more

This 1890 Victorian B & B was extraordinary. This place has so many beautiful features that it's hard to write about them all here .Our Host, Nancy, was the best, sincerely sweet, very kind & delightful. She provided a memorable setting for us. Breakfasts were stellar. I was charmed seeing the fantastically crafted detail and period furniture in the B & B: On the wall upstairs is 1960's photo of her husband, a concert violinist like Nancy. It was taken of Elvis & Priscilla by their wedding.cake as the violinist played right beside them. There's also an old Steinway piano downstairs that was played on in Las Vegas by the Rat Pack and Neil Sedaka. How cool is that? I rarely write reviews, but felt this one was truly deserving of praise because it's special. Marty O; The Dalles, Oregon read more

We came here for our anniversary and it was a special treat we won't forget! Nancy was the most gracious host and we really enjoyed visiting with her and learning the history of her beautiful home. My husband and I enjoyed listening to classical music, on vinyl records, in the library. Personally, the hi light for me was the jet tub in the suite. The hot water was excellent and it was very relaxing. We would recommend this experience to anyone! read more

Nancy makes her B&B as near perfect as makes no difference, for people like the reviewers above, my companion and me. I would reach so far as to say she has decorated it in the style of Bach's Goldberg Variations, elegant to a fault, spare where it need be, a complete expression of transcendent artistic expression. Outside, deer lay under the fruit trees and even people on the sidewalk across the street smiled and greeted us. In addition to the LP and CD classical music libraries, the front room where the Steinway resides has reams of sheet music. It really may be the most enchanting, beautiful place I've ever stayed. read more

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Edward Adams House. Nancy was delightful - as sweet as could be. She had fresh shortbread, still warm from the oven, waiting for us when we arrived. She gave great suggestions for places around town to visit or eat at. And then fresh coffee waiting at our door first thing in the morning. What a wonderful way to start the day! Breakfast was delicious - a nice change from other B&B's we have stayed at where they served a really heavy breakfast. Nancy served a fabulous souffle, fresh fruit & blueberry muffins. Perfect start to the day. We are already looking forward to our next stay! read more

We have very much enjoyed our stay at Edward Adams House B&B. The historical house and grounds are simply beautiful. Nancy's rooms are crispy clean & the house is immaculate. Nancy is a delight. She is very thoughtful & knowledgeable. Nothing is left out from a detail. She has crossed every "t' and dotted every 'i'. We loved having the cherry wine that she has left for us in the dining room and the touch of chocolate almonds on the pillow was a perfect touch. The candlelight breakfasts we had were superb! The food was delicious! The daily fresh flowers from her garden on the dining room table added to the charm and the ambiance of the era restored dining room. We would definitely stay there again! read more

Wonderful bed and breakfast! We really enjoyed our visit, the room was very clean and comfortable and our private bathroom was beautiful. Our stay at the Edward Adams House B&B was wonderful! The house is clean and has been restored so lovingly. Our room was very comfortable. The owner cooked a great home-made breakfast for both of the mornings we were there--superb soufflé! Fruit, nuts, and cookies were available to us any time. Coffee was served right on time in the morning. We loved sitting outside in the gazebo in the evening after returning from dinner and enjoyed chocolate cherry port. We thoroughly appreciated the brochures on Silver Falls State Park, which was our main reason for visiting Silverton. We got great recommendations for restaurants, local attractions and the wine areas. read more

We stayed at the Edward Adams House for two nights while we were visiting family in Salem, and really enjoyed our stay! We found this B&B to be similar to many of the nicer B&Bs we've stayed at in Napa/Sonoma. Both mornings, Nancy (the owner) brought us coffee which was left outside our door at a pre-arranged time. Both breakfasts Nancy made were delicious, and what I would consider to be tastefully gourmet (i.e., nothing weird). The house is quiet and everything is very clean. The house has much of its original detail, and although the decor is Victorian, it is not the cluttered/creepy dolls/doilies/flowers decor you see at many B&Bs. Like many B&Bs, the rooms do not have TVs--although I was a little disappointed about that at first, I was surprised at how relaxing the lack of TV made our stay! If you have time to kill, the house has a piano, and room with a record player and hundreds of records (Nancy is a musician). The B&B also has a lovely front porch and yard with a number of places to sit and read or chat. The next time we are in the area, we will definitely be staying here! read more
