Where do I begin? This place is stunning and Nancy is the absolute best host! My husband and I stayed here because the family we were visiting has cats and we wanted to hang out at the house the whole time but couldn't! We will definitely be back, breakfast was delicious and the house is beautiful built in 1890! Nancy makes this place what it is, and it's so warm and welcoming!

Both mornings, Nancy (the owner) brought us coffee which was left outside our door at a pre-arranged time.

The property is nestled in a beautiful area and feels like you are truly out in the wilderness area. The owners have some meticulously groomed and constructed trails near a creek complete with plenty of flora and fauna. We enjoyed watching the horses, Canadian geese with their goslings, and playing with dogs Delilah & Sasha. They have beautiful amenities in this modern lodge-style home complete with a nice wood-burning fireplace. Breakfast was tasty with eggs, breads & jam, and steel cut oatmeal with fruit and toppings. The owners have a wealth of knowledge for suggestions and ideas for things to do outside. CML is a must-visit!

The nearest good restaurants, shopping and full-service stores are thirty miles away. Building: Five stars for a large, modern home with a lodge look, spacious and well-built with upscale fixtures. There are three upstairs rooms for rent. Grounds: Five stars for the generally attractive surroundings that reportedly include miles of hiking trails. Room and amenities: Four Stars for our room, which was spacious with lots of storage, a balcony and a bath. There were two bed lamps but both were inadequate for reading, while the flood lights in the ceiling were too bright for anyone lying in bed trying to read. The room included a small desk and a chair. Our room rating does not consider the other two rooms, one a bedroom, the other a bunk room for an unknown number of good friends or an entire family, both with a separate or shared bath. Bathroom and amenities: Four stars for the small bath with shower. Counter space was inadequate but that was fully compensated with plenty of drawers and cupboards. Due to the small size of the bath, there is only one towel rack and the TP is uncomfortably located to the rear of the small toilet. The lighting is better than that in most hotel bathrooms. Bed and pillows: Five Stars for the comfortable queen bed. One star for the mushy pillows that crank your chin up toward your chest without providing any support for your neck. HVAC: One star for an unconventional room air conditioner that not only blew cold air across the bed all night long but did so at constantly varying fan speeds that supposedly mimic natural breezes but actually mimic natural cold winds. Both the remote control and the instructions for the AC indicated that this supposedly desirable feature could be defeated in favor of steady low, medium and high fan speeds; however, our attempts to change the program (which included an attempt to reboot the remote) changed nothing. We made do the second night without the AC by opening the door to the balcony. Breakfast. Four stars for a healthy fix-it-yourself fruit and cereal breakfast with high-quality breads and jams. Dog: Five stars for Delilah, a very nice Lab. Service: Three stars. The hosts are friendly and helpful but this is an Airbnb home, not a full-service hotel. Noise Level: Four stars. The rooms are not well-isolated from the central living area or each other; however, the home is generally quiet and noisy activities cease around nine or ten at night. Price and Summary: Airbnb properties generally offer lower prices but they are able to do this in part because they generally are not subject to the building and safety codes and the insurance requirements of commercial hotels. Cascade Mountain Lodge offers especially favorable prices for such a nice property, if its Location (see above) is right for you. The hosts have an unconventional no-shoes-upstairs rule.

This was our first time staying in a B&B and what an amazing experience…read more My husband, son, and I came to Salem after a long flight and 1 hour drive. We were scoping out the area to buy our first home and visit my husband's best friend. I decided to treat us to a bed and breakfast. After looking for a couple hours online, I found the Century House. Jean was/is so sweet and kind, I am so happy to have gotten the opportunity to support the business. Jean was able to recommend a realtor to us. She is very knowledgeable about the Salem area and makes the best food. We got FRESH bing cherries and other fruits. As a resident of Hawaii, I so miss having fresh fruit. Our room was beautiful, ample space for 3 people. It felt like home. It was great. The breakfast was to die for. First morning was a parfait, sausages, and blueberry pancakes. Wow. Wow. Wow. To which I totally forgot to tell her that I don't eat red meat/pork. So the next morning she made salmon omelettes with cream cheese and a fruit crisp. I mentioned that a diner in Monmouth had the best crisps but they were out so we weren't able to get it. So she took it and decided to make one (totally warmed my heart). Both breakfasts were amazing. She sat with us both mornings and chatted, she's such a lovely person. When we move next June. I fully plan on staying at the Century House for a couple of nights again. Thanks Jean!

Rooms were clean although maybe in need of a touch of updating. No noise from neighbors. Didn't access the back patio bc of uncooperative weather, but seems like would be a nice place to hang out in warmer/drier seasons. The lodge serves lunch and dinner and we noticed live music on Thursday nite -- and a happy hour that starts at 9pm. Free breakfast buffet (with a gorgeous view and friendly waitstaff) and access to the Oregon Garden were great bonuses! Really not too far away from downtown Silverton and a nice spot for peace and quiet and quality time with your hunny bunny.

The gal behind the counter was very kind and explained to each wine to us and how it was named after the three daughters of the owners of the winery. The view is beautiful and the wine was tasty. Since it is after harvest, they had sheep wandering around the vineyard, it is an organic winery so they said the sheep were fertilizing. I believe it is also woman owned.
