It's as good as the 5 star Yelp reviews suggest!!!! My plans for a friend's birthday took a left-turn when I realized Spirit Mountain's hotel was sold out the night of the concert I was taking him to. The silver lining was finding Amity Flats! We rented the Jory and Willakenzie rooms and it was exactly as advertised: great service from booking to follow-up, impeccably clean and new rooms and a really, really unique experience. The great weekend started with the drive to Amity. Driving there in separate cars, both of us had the same reaction: wow - what a nice scenic drive through the country! We had never been to the tiny town of Amity, but it was quite charming and the restored building that Amity Flats is part of is the diamond that jumped out at us as we arrived. Our room was Jory and was everything we'd want in a room - quiet, private and comfortable, but also gave us some remodeling ideas for our own home! Our friend was in Willakenzie, which was equally as charming. Thank you, Barbara, for creating such a special place and being such a great hostess. We will be back! As a side note, if you're headed to Spirit Mountain for an event, it is about 18 miles away. The Lyft ride there was easy and not too expensive. You should make plans in advance for the return ride as Uber and Lyft don't tend to service the casino....

Wow. Where to begin!?! My boyfriend and I are from Los Angeles CA and my dear friend had her wedding in Sheridan, OR on July 1st 2017. We made the drive due to the camping adventure to follow the wedding and were looking for a nice, comfortable accommodation close to the ceremony location. WE ABSOLUTELY MADE THE BEST DECISION with Amity Flats. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the manager, Alex. He was incredibly kind and accommodating to us Californians! We stayed in the flat Nekia and we're thrilled when we walked in. So beautiful and you could feel the effort and love put into creating this space. We we're greeted with wine, fresh cherries, honey, and fresh eggs and a special soft boiled egg recipe from the owners. It was AMAZING! must try! Thank you for the wonderful stay and we will absolutely be back!

    The Nekia.

Room #1 was very quaint and enough room without bumping into furniture. The bed was soft as were the pillows. We were able to get a good night's sleep. The sourdough toast was a delight as you could actually taste the sourdough. It was a perfect pairing with my bacon and eggs. The live music was a bonus! Even though the stairs were daunting, people were friendly, warm, and I can't wait to eat there again!!

Given the "antique" shop opportunities is might be much busier during the tourist season. The service was small-town nice, food came quickly, and the menu had lots of choices. I had the French dip sliders- perfectly fine. The star of the show was my partner's BLT, Mr, picky said that it was his current favorite for that sandwich. So good service, nice room, ample menu and well prepared food. Prices were fair. And, as I always comment, clean restroom, key for a road trip. Also of interest - booths were four-six tops they accommodate larger groups with movable tables. Street parking was available.

The location could not get any better. It is so convenient to all of the stores and restaurants. Our unit was like a small apartment. One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

They do respond to complaints, but otherwise it is a DIY operation. Access is with coded door locks. They have excellent free self-parking, but they do not have an elevator to reach the rooms on the second floor. It's actually a flight and a half to the top of the stairs. Decent size guest rooms although ours was an unusual layout. Bathroom sink is in a tiny closet. Unexpected small steps between bedroom and entry area guaranteed to trip the unsuspecting guest on the way to the toilet - in the dark. Their excellent plush towels make up for the tiny shower stall with a shower curtain instead of a glass door. Room #3 has a view of a partially enclose narrow space between the building exterior wall. Somewhere inside this space there is an exhaust fan, probably from the Thai restaurant, that pumps out incredibly strong cooking odors beginning at 6am. Fortunately, they are closed Sundays, so we had one night of relief. They have a small lobby halfway between the ground floor and the guest rooms. Sometimes they have background music and coffee available, sometimes not. Overall, I think the room rates, ours was $300-$330 / night are too high. However, there are not a lot of options in McMinnville near 3rd street.

I love the view of the Willamette River. I love the washroom, shower, sink, and the lights in the room, the mirrors in the room made the room even brighter and bigger. The door to the washroom, sliding door. Even though I didn't use the iron/board, I like the fact they have those. The rooms were clean, like they cared and pillows and bed comfortable. I love the fact, they have soft, cushion, velvety chairs, to matched the room. Negative: The desk chair, cushion good, but I sink down so low as I sit down to use my laptop on the desk. It does swivel! We stayed here two nights. The buffet breakfast, the only meat was bacon. Not a lot of selection for dinner, that's when we ordered Caesar Salad and Pasta with Grilled Chicken (they need to improve that). Bonus for the extra 4th of July chocolates, we got when we got in the hotel, and during the fireworks! July 4th, another positive, we were able to have front row seats for the fireworks! It's right on your face, and because of the wind gusts, we seldom smell smoke, and I didn't think it was too loud. (I've had relatives who watched the Oaks Park in Portland, and they said it was TOO loud). I think the wind carried it over further, so the sound was OK with me. My husband couldn't find his iPad, and the hotel said they found it, from the same room we were at. (It turned out, he found it in the truck, so we didn't have to drive back to Independence to pick it up). (We forgot to let the staff know, we were there for 2 reasons: to do my 4th of July events in Monmouth, and to celebrate with a big bang, our 50th Wedding Anniversary). I can't remember, the last time we were able to watch the fireworks together, by ourselves. This was a treat for us! We would like to come back in 2025, same time, same days, facing the river again! Thank you!
