    Bedroom in the 11th Flat

We've stayed in this historic location twice...both times in the 11th Flat. This space is beautifully appointed with a brick wall, wood floors from the building's original ballroom, a fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen that boasts a dishwasher and all of the necessary hardware needed to make the perfect meal. (Bring our own spices! Nothing food wise is included.) They do provide fresh roasted coffee and honey sticks from a local source. The king bed has a plush pillow top and is super comfortable. The bathroom has some of the most divine smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! They sell these at the neighboring Atticus. Worth the splurge in my humble opinion. Things to note...there is no phone, no room service, no elevators. When you arrive, you grab your key from the Atticus staff and hike up a set of stairs (or two) to your room. Once there, hunker down with your glass of wine and reminisce of simpler times. And, maybe grab a few tacos to go from Pura Vida or some tapas from La Rambla...delicious!

3rd street flats was fantastic find in McMinnville. We stayed there one night on a visit to wine country and it was perfect. Check in was super easy. We picked up the keys at a coffee shop next door and that was it! The unit we stayed in was two bedrooms with a full kitchen, dining area and a huge living room. The only downside? One bathroom only. So...if you're staying for an extended time with a group of four it could tight, but that's a minor detail. The flat was super clean and well appointed. Both bedrooms had giant and super comfy beds. Linens and towels were set for us in each bedroom and we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and decadent chocolate caramels. The location is great if you want to cruise around town. Several coffee shops and eateries within feet of the front door. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a "base" stay on a trip to wine country.

The owners of the Atticus run the 3rd Street flats and you can tell. They did an amazing job and we'll be back.

The beds were great. The bathrooms clean and functioning. The living room well appointed. Walls freshly painted. It's a great rental for the Willamette Valley area. In addition the owner was easy to work with and very pleasant. The kitchen was modern and the appliances very new. The property does not have a bbq but the owner when I asked about a bbq provided a small beach bbq. Not what I would use, but nonetheless a very nice gesture on her part. There is one minor complaint that I am sure it will be remedied after the owners reads this. Their website says "Please note, the kitchen comes with the right tools and service ware, you will need to provide all of the food." This is not quite accurate. We found no pots and the skillets were older and of poor quality. For $200.00 the owner could go to Costco and reoutfit the house with new pots and pans and a few utensils. I suspect they will do so after reading this because I believe they are do care about their customers' stay. This obviously is not a problem if you only eat at restaurants. In summary, I highly recommend this rental though I hope the owners will take my small complaint to heart. Five stars when they upgrade the pots and pans. Bill

We stayed here on our wedding night and we are headed back there again this week only four months later. There is nothing better than taking the short walk down to the fabulous bars and restaurants of McMinnville and then being able to walk home to the sweet and oh-so-comfy Oregon Wine Cottage. We plan to go back many, many, many times over.

My colleague Paul started looking at the vacation rentals, and pointed me to the Pinot Quarters. What a find! Since I'm renting for months rather than days I got a rate that is MUCH nicer than the daily. But it wouldn't be bad for a daily rental, especially for a family. You'll be getting the second floor of a spacious gingerbread Victorian house that was built in the 1920's and recently renovated. There are two bedrooms and two hide-a-beds, so it seems like the place could sleep somewhere between five an eight, depending on how 'friendly' everybody is. The kitchen is well equipped except for pots and pans. I've got one frying pan and one small sauce pan. There's a stove, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. The kitchen table is small for more than two people. There is a large bathroom with two sinks, toilet, shower and a large soaking bathtub which is sadly not jetted. There is no garage but you do get off-street parking. Almost enough towels for a rugby team. The parking garage across the street is a bit of an eyesore, but c'est la vie. The house has lots of nice little architectural details, like the sun windows on the corners of the house, antique door handles and stained glass. The windows are large and plentiful so the place is glowing and warm on sunny day. I'm enjoying my stay here, and dreading the day when the 'wine country' tourists arrive to pay full price, and I have to decamp to a hotel.

The location could not get any better. It is so convenient to all of the stores and restaurants. Our unit was like a small apartment. One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

They do respond to complaints, but otherwise it is a DIY operation. Access is with coded door locks. They have excellent free self-parking, but they do not have an elevator to reach the rooms on the second floor. It's actually a flight and a half to the top of the stairs. Decent size guest rooms although ours was an unusual layout. Bathroom sink is in a tiny closet. Unexpected small steps between bedroom and entry area guaranteed to trip the unsuspecting guest on the way to the toilet - in the dark. Their excellent plush towels make up for the tiny shower stall with a shower curtain instead of a glass door. Room #3 has a view of a partially enclose narrow space between the building exterior wall. Somewhere inside this space there is an exhaust fan, probably from the Thai restaurant, that pumps out incredibly strong cooking odors beginning at 6am. Fortunately, they are closed Sundays, so we had one night of relief. They have a small lobby halfway between the ground floor and the guest rooms. Sometimes they have background music and coffee available, sometimes not. Overall, I think the room rates, ours was $300-$330 / night are too high. However, there are not a lot of options in McMinnville near 3rd street.
