Old house, but cheap. Upkeep not that great. It was OK for a weekend, but would not stay here again.

Very quiet and tucked away. The lobby is nice and the bar area seems to be very cozy. I used my Hilton app so I didn't have to interact with the front desk at all. Walked straight in and got my parking tag and went up to the room. Now the room, spacious -yes Updated -yes Shower is a bit small - not sure who would use the tub but I would get rid of that as it was kinda small as well that way the shower could get more space. We booked a room with a balcony as the hotel sits on the Rivers Edge- hints the name. With that please be aware that it comes with some woes. There were so many Cobb webs in the room and on the balcony you didn't want to go out and use it. I would suggest the housekeeping look up while they are cleaning as they missed this part in the rooms. And also give the balconies a good sweep. Overall it was a good stay

I called the restaurant repeatedly to order food and no one answered, so I went to the restaurant. I got there at 9pm and was told the menu was no longer available and I could get a salad. Wow if someone would have answered the phone I would have been able to order. My daughter and I spent all day packing her room to move home and are starving. And because no one could answer the restaurant phone, we had to order DoorDash. Not ok. Meanwhile they are serving all the guests their food. It was ridiculous. They need to improve their service and aren't quite there yet. The location is nice and the rooms are nice - a bit sterile and the lighting is too bright but nice.

Overall this hotel was an average hotel I picked it because it was for Amex and I needed to use my credit before the year-end. During our stay, the fire alarm went off and that was insanely loud. No one can sleep through that. Gladly when we came down to the lobby they stated that it was a false alarm. Soon after about an hour or so we got a text message saying that it was a false alarm. I did enjoy the breakfast here at the lobby! That was actually pretty delicious and I would say to try it out. The beds and comfortable and you can also bring your dog into this hotel which is kind of cool! That was a bonus seeing all the different-sized dogs roaming around.

We used it as our home base for hiking the Multnomah Wahkeena Columbia Gorge as it was only about 25 minutes away. One afternoon, I sat in the hotel bar, drank a glass of wine and enjoyed my book and writing postcards. Our view from the 4th floor overlooking the river was lovely. We used valet parking which was quick and easy. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Rooms were cool and dark for sleeping. Rooms were clean and spacious. TV was big. Great experience.

The carousel is indoors so that's a nice perk when it's cold or rainy. It's a large carousel with different animals as well as some benches, and they're adding others soon--including a U of O themed duck. The rides are pretty inexpensive at $2 each; you'll buy tokens at the gift shop. (They only take cards with a minimum $5 purchase.) Alternatively, you can pay $15 for unlimited rides for the day. The gift shop has lots of stuff... except t-shirts, which they were out of the day we came in and that was a bummer since I'd wanted to get one for the little one. There are indoor toilets here (yay) and they have some vendors--at least, there as a cotton candy vendor here when we visited. They also rent the space out and there was a nice private room off to the side of the carousel. There's lots of parking here since it's part of the overall Riverfront Park.

Because this isn't a library." Mind you, we were the only people in the store. Maybe put up a sign or something if you don't want people reading the kids' books there? (This is the only negative experience we've had in the store - other times, my daughter has happily wandered around checking out the toys and books for quite some time and the folks working there have been nothing but kind and welcoming.)

Mt. Hood Day Trip from Portland to Multnomah Falls and Hood River Private Tour…read moreWe took this as a private tour and the value delivered far exceeded the cost. We saw far more than we would have had we been doing this on our own (and would not have made it to Timberline Lodge as we are not accustomed to driving on snow). Being that it was during the week and not during the peak season, it was not very crowded. Being a private tour, there was greater flexibility and efficiency. And then there was our guide, John, who raised the quality of the tour experience to a level far exceeding our highest expectations. John is very friendly and personable, incredibly knowledgeable of the history of the area, and truly passionate about what he does. We could not have asked for a better touring experience. The next time that we are in Portland, we shall do another of their private tours and hopefully be John's guest once again.

Why drive yourself to Multnomah Falls ( still closed due to the carelessness and bravado of a 15 year old playing with fireworks in the forest) and miss half the views when you can book a $60 1/2 day tour with "door-to-door" pick up from your hotel? The guide, John was prompt and the vehicle clean and ready. Overcast or not, the show goes on. We stopped by several other downtown hotels, then headed on our way. JOHN was a wealth of local knowledge and sprinkled in little-known eco and geological facts without ANY hint of condescension. He was fun and very knowledgeable, taking time to be a roving personal photographer. All along the way, John pointed out numerous seasonal and year round waterfalls, spending the appropriate amount of time at each stop. TIP: Take a few dollars for the gift shop and outdoor snack stand where you can pick up a warming cup of coffee or sweet treat.

A huge shoutout to our waitress, Nancy! She was so kind, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We can be a little picky with our food, and she went above and beyond to help customize our entrées so they were exactly how we like them. We intentionally did not intervene immediately, as we are working on teaching her to communicate without reinforcing whining. During that short time, multiple guests began making comments toward us, including telling us to "do something" and calling us "the worst parents." The situation escalated when one woman followed us as we were leaving, recording us and yelling in our faces. What's most concerning is that the restaurant did not intervene in any meaningful way. Instead of addressing the guests who were harassing us, we were asked if we wanted to move tables. Our server was kind and tried to help, but the lack of management response in a situation that clearly crossed into harassment was unacceptable. I left feeling shaken and unsafe. I would not recommend this restaurant for families.

The restrooms and the hallway leading to them were futuristic and reminded me of sci-fi films. Our waiter was amazing and provided great recommendations for drinks on the menu (even off the menu too, when I was looking for a N/A drink). He even gave us champagne for a celebration. Between the three of us, we ordered five dishes plus dessert. The food items were all small plates and perfectly shareable, with enough portions for everyone to get a decent sampling of each dish. We ordered the blistered shishitos, albacore tataki, KFC bao, curry prawn salad, and coffee roasted pork belly. The blistered shishitos had a spicy kick to it that initially hits you in the face but simmers to a lingering heat on your tongue. The yuzu mayo mellows the spiciness quite a bit if you're worried about the heat. The coconut-lime cream and the tamarind chili dressing in the curry prawn salad created a lovely sour and creamy twist with the macadamia nuts offering a delightful crunch in each bite. The flavors were reminiscent of Thai cuisine. The albacore tataki was light and refreshing, and the daikon soaked up the green tea ponzu wonderfully -- I chased down every single piece. The pickled cucumber paired so well with the chicken in the KFC bao, the sour vinegary taste cutting through the thick sweet-savoriness of the gochujang glaze. The coffee roasted pork belly was also delicious, and I especially enjoyed the bed of braised taro leaves the meat rested on. Our dinner ended with yuzu sherbet and an ice cream sandwich. I loved every part of this dinner, and I would definitely come back again.
