UPDATE: we had a problem with our heater-only used it about 8 times since it was installed. Marlon came out pretty quickly and diagnosed the problem. Our unit was still under warranty but we would have to pay labor for the repair. Makes sense. Turned out the part was on back order. Since Marlon took the part with him, we called his office to inquire about the part number. Virginia was super defensive and would not give it to us. She kept telling us that she is looking for it. Ok, can't we look too? It took multiple phone calls to finally get the name of the part and the model of our furnace. We called around to other HVAC companies and it was indeed on back order-approx 6 weeks. These technicians advised us to wait for the part. In the meanwhile, attic 5 star was trying to convince us to put on a whole new furnace and charge us $2000 in labor-stressing there may be a very long delay in getting the part. Speaking to another HVAC technician, the repair is quick-just switching out the part and connecting a few wires-a 5 minute job. Well, Marlon finally found the part and charged us $500 for the install. $100 per minute. So, while they did a great job with the initial install and price, we would NEVER use them again for repairs unless its something big under warranty. Seems like their gimmick is to rip you off on the service or repair. read more

This company came out twice since I had posted these negative reviews. They claimed to not find any openings in the crawl space. Seems unlikely if however, there were rats in the crawl space still. I finally hired a reliable company, they came out and found the hole in the crawl space. Along with that, the odor of dead rodents, urine and a skull of a dead rat. (AtticFiveStars claimed everything was sealed twice!) The new company happily sealed up the hole with cement. It only took 1 hour to finish. Anyways, I've gone to the BBB with the complaint of this company. I am extremely disappointed/ dissatisfied with them not doing a thorough job and being deceitful. read more

What an amazing job done by the crew. I forgot to get their name, but they were a team of three. On time and very efficient. So let's begin from the beginning my insulation project actually started last year 2020. I called and spoke with Virginia. She & I spoke on numerous occasions because I had to keep pushing back the install date due to other home projects happening and of course COVID! Let me say Virginia is so pleasant and accommodating. Excellent business begins with the initial phone call. Thank you so much Virginia. Now installation date 2/22/2021 appointment scheduled at 8:00 am. Let me say these guys were at my home at 7:40! The were set up, locked and loaded ready to start at 8:00 am. This is loved and appreciated. Nothing better than starting a project on time as they say they will. Where do I begin? We hired them for insulation and they did a good job. Rehired them for mudding and that job went south. They contracted out and left all these uneven ceilings and wall. After we painted the house we saw all the uneven ceilings, textured walls. We called them back to come and fix it- they outsourced to some other company and sent them over without letting us know. I text, email, called several times to find out what was going on. The guy who came to fix the job agreed with us that the work was POOR. He said he needed to get our house done asap bc he had other jobs. Attic never got back to me the guy started the job and left all his mess in my backyard - photo attached. Kept reaching out to attic for a response. The lady that answers their phones said she was in a class all morning and Marlon just didn't answer his phone and text. I am in the middle of finishing up my home but I will be sending attic five star a bill and will go from there. Unprofessional and unreliable. They lie communication to get the job is great. I was initially very happy with this business when the put in our AC system in 2018. However, I had a failure this past Saturday and it's been non-stop incompetence and obstruction since then. 1. I called on Saturday morning to request help with the unit as there was a noise coming from it. I was told someone would be here between 4 and 5. No one showed and I was told they just forgot. 2. They came on Monday and told me nothing was wrong with the system even though I pointed out the noise. I had to get them back in the house and they finally acknowledge a pump had failed. They then told me that whoever installed the pump (it was them!) was lazy and it was the wrong way to do things. They left saying they had to talk to Marlon. 3. I had to call back to talk to Virginia and I relayed what the tech told me. She said that the guy who said that to me is the person that did the job to begin with! I asked to talk to Marlon. He never called me. 4. I was told a few days later they guys would come out to put in a new pump. I told her I didn't want a pump but PVC put in to drain outside. We are on a raised foundation. I still wanted to talk to Marlon. He never called. I was told they would come Thursday but they didn't. 5. The guys finally showed up on Friday with a pump! I told them I don't want a pump. They said Marlon told them to install it despite my stating I didn't want it. He said he'd put it in temporarily and then come back to put in the PVC. Marlon rejected that idea and wouldn't talk to me. 6. I had to tell them to leave and that I'd work with another company. So the people that did a great job of installing the unit wouldn't help me as I requested and wasted a week of my life waiting on them. Beware - They'll take your money to get the system installed, but they won't stand by their work when something goes wrong. The pump has no warranty! And it's the wrong part for the job. Marlon could care less. Their customer service for a system they installed is horrible. I've never been more disappointed in a business. read more

I hired Attic Five Stars to remodel attic. I was unhappy about their work. 1. Job quality is poor. Aweful paint job, drywall and floor installation. Please see attached pictures. Drywall has holes, floor cut is not precise. Gap is more than half inch. Ridiculous to caulk the gap. 2. Did not clean up job site at end of the day. They cut drywall, floor in front of entrance door. I had to clean a couple of times because they did not do it. 3. Poor communication. They installed 24 inches ladder instead of quoted 28 due to there is no inventory. I found the ladder opening is too small bad had to reorder the original product discussed. I had to spend 600 more on installation. They also covered two vents with drywall for convenience without my permission. I have to let them open the drywall to show vents because heater pipe need ventilation. 4. Not on schedule. Project was delayed several times. Someday they show up without notification. Someday they did not show up as scheduled. My lesson is not be mislead by good reviewed on Yelp. Do your research and supervise their work closely. read more

We had a specific attic project, and were very happy to find Marlon and AtticFiveStars to do the job. First, we wanted to clean up our attic by replacing the old dirty insulation to new batt R-38, rodent proofing and sanitizing. Second, we wanted to replace our very old ducts. My experience with the team at AtticFiveStars is very positive. Correspondence and scheduling was through Virginia, who is prompt and delightful to communicate with. It was extremely easy through the text option. I really appreciate that due to my busy schedule. Marlon came for an estimate on time, and quoted me a very fair price (cleaning lots of rat poop, changing out the air ducts, sealing up holes for pests, insulation and additional ventilation fan). Luckily we were able to schedule their service the following week especially they are so busy. After the inspection of the initial service, I had found a few adjustments that needed to be addressed, and Virginia recommended "radiant barrier" for further insulation. The team came back again and addressed it promptly. Everything they did helped with heat reduction tremendously. Virginia has shown nothing but great customer service and their crew was so professional. Recently had some major concerns that my family's home may have insulation issues since temperatures were varying from room to room. Quickly got on Yelp and scheduled about 5 different companies to get estimates and quotes from. Long story short, of all the places that came out, Attic Five Stars was the most professional, trustworthy and drum roll please....best priced. In fact, when compared to all of the other companies, the price was too good to believe, but it was real. We were able to start work in a few days. The work included removal of old asbestos ducts (scary I know, but it helps explain why I am the way I am now), cleaning out all the old insulation and rat remnants, sanitizing the attic, rat proofing all the openings, installing new asbestos free ducts (yay), and putting in the new insulation. Everything appeared to be sealed off properly to ensure debris wasn't flying all over the place and coming into the house. Everything was cleaned up by the crew during and after the job was done. They were very respectful of our property. They worked fast - 2 days. Throughout the entire process, Marlon, Virginia, and their team was very responsive through yelp messaging and by phone. They were always very professional and courteous. Overall, AtticFiveStars exceeded our expectations. I would instantly recommend them. I want to end by saying everyone should really do their homework about who they hire. If I had gone with the first company that quoted me I would have been majorly ripped off. I won't name names, but you'll spot them on Yelp by noticing their uniformed techs posing with many of their customers who clearly look like retirees. That was a red flag right there. Update: another 5 months passed. No singe word from this guy! Amazing Another update. This guy called me right after reading my review below then asked me to send them an invoice so they can reimburse. So far its been 20 days and i didn't hear a single word. This is how this guy does business. No surprise actually.. So the real story is more complicated than my initial thought. They installed the new condenser then we tested a few times in Feb. When we tested, it worked and then didnt use AC until summer. Here summer came and AC didnt work. AtticFivestar came and checked the system then blamed "coil" which was installed a year ago asking another $2000 to repair coils. This is not acceptable! We called couple of other AC experts to figure out what went wrong and found that AtticFivestar didnt flush the line completely after installing new condenser. We spent lots of money to order new coils/valve to make AC work because of AtticFivestars poor service and excuse. Dont use this guy. They just blamed on other stuff although they didnt install/ take care in the right way. Otherwise you will waste a lot more money to fix it. Atticfivestar recently replaced our AC condenser. This guys is simply amazing. Very responsive and easy to work with. Prices were reasonable and crew were very professional. Unfortunately we had to deal with couple of other idiot firms before I found atticfivestar via yelp. The excellent reviews just tell you who they are and how they work. Unlike this company, there are so many jokes and stupid companies related to AC/heat. Dont ever hire someone who has terrible yelp reviews. This company is the one who you can trust and rely on.
