It took us eight days to fully get with the Italian dining program. Eight days! It's astonishing, honestly, to reflect on how right Italy gets it. Life. Work. Food. Probably love, I mean, I hear they do. They certainly find more time to express amóre. I hear they live longer. On our final night in Naples, we arrived here at 9:00 -- still a little early for dinner in this country -- and insisted on doing things right. We ordered appetizers like bruschetta and clams and beer and cocktails and second courses and third courses and wine and pasta and a pizza which we shared and finished it with some kind of dessert, not sure which, for the kiddo who didn't want to spend 90 minutes staying up late just sitting at an outdoor table, but she put up with it. In the end we left absolutely stuffed, especially impressed with the seafood, and proud that, just once, we truly ate like Italians, savoring every bite, never hurried, smiling and laughing and reflecting on a visit to a place we couldn't wait to rediscover. Next time, we're picking one city, and staying there.

It's definitely a place with ease because it's right next to the train station. For ease and decent food, definitely recommend this place. Tried their bruschetta and it was absolutely lipsmacking delicious. The seasoning on the bruschetta was great and the freshness was what you need on a crazy hot summer afternoon. Pizza was good too, but not the best I had in Italy. Somehow, the staff gives you a death stare and judgemental like. Looks like they hate you or they hate to serve you. I asked for ice and it felt like I've asked them for their gold.

So,, so we came to Napoli from Rome to see what this place is all about. The only big mistake we made is coming here on a sunday. Where everything, well mostly everything in the city is closed. So, after wandring the streets aimlessly looking for where the late Anthony Bourdain had a meal at. We settled for going back to Napoli Centrale station and having a go at the restaurants there. Which,,, brings us to why we're here. Fried Prawns with Almonds: This was pretty good. I totally get it. The almonds give it more crunch and depth flavor. The sauce was ok, but still a pretty good dish. Octopus Salad: YES!!! Super fresh and super perfect in their execution. Just squeeze the lemon, some olive oil and a bit of salt. #Destruction Fried Anchovies: I swear i could eat bag fulls of these all day. It's just so good,, much better than smelt. By miles and miles and miles. The server suggested 2 fish dishes for us... Grouper with Linguini: I adore this dish,, delicate flavor of the grouper paired with that linguini in pomodoro was delightful. I wouldnt hesitate to order this dish again. Sea Bream with Salad: This dish came out in the end and we were already stuper stuffed. Im a very big fan of sea bream. I powered through my fish,, the salad, i sadly just could fit anymore in my stomach. It was super delish tho. The fish and the salad. Even though we setteled on this restaurant. They delivered a darn good meal. The food was exceptional, service was top knotch and i would totally love to eat here again. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Oh Napoli... why did it take me so long to visit you... And Attansasio, I wish you and I met way sooner... We had An few hours to kill until next train to Rome. So we looked around. Feared that we were about to be sucked into a tourist trap, we went in as we were getting tired of roaming around. This kind of compromise usually leads us to an ultimate suckfest but we got so lucky!! We got orthodox margaritas and some sort of meat pizza. Oh my goodness. They were big! The dough itself tasted so mesmerizing. Perfectly chewy and nice flavor. This alone sealed the deal pretty much. I think it's taste good with anything on it. Maybe because coming from the country where good cheese are scarce aka Japan, generous amount of delicious cheese made us so happy. Eggplant Parmesan was good, I think. At this point, we were so full from pizza. We couldn't really taste in detail. The waiter was quite a charming dude. Helpful, informative and SUPER friendly. Not nosy, I have to say. He knows when to talk and when to leave us alone. Very pleasant guy. So pleasant that we wanted to take a picture with him but he was too busy with other customers... It's across from Napale Centrale Station. It's solid and delicious meal guaranteed!for reasonable price!!

Walked by here on the way to hotel from train station. We were seated quickly since it was early. Not sure if there was a futobal game going, but lots of cheering and shouting by employees. Food was good and service was okay.

Decent spot very near train station. Food was very good and served fast. Staff was a bit noisy talking loudly with each other near my table, but I'll leave it to Italian temper. I'm quite happy to wait out today's thunderstorm with good hot food.

I haven't had a server more rude than this in a long time…read more We arrived when the restaurant was full, so we waited at the door. No acknowledgement of any kind by the server, who was a lady walking around inside. She was the only server, but there are only 9 or so tables in the small space so she definitely saw us since she walked by to various tables. When a table left, the bus boy cleaned it and motioned us to sit. Once we were ready to order, we waited. ...and waited, and waited. So we raised our hand for a few minutes straight, while the lady continued to walk to other tables and ignore us for some reason. Then the table next to us got a new party. Finally, the bus boy saw our raised hand came over, and I asked him to call the lady over. He did, we saw. And then she proceeded to take the order of the table next to us, who sat down more than 10 minutes after we did. They even looked at us apologetically. Finally, after putting in that table's order, she came to us. So she clearly knew we were waiting. I don't understand why she was somehow prejudiced to ignore us, but I was about to just leave. And maybe I should have - the pizza honestly wasn't that great. My pizza had mushrooms were canned and flavorless, and chewy thick dough that I didn't end up finishing. We also had a variation of diavola that came with eggplant, and it was slightly better but still nowhere near as flavorful as other spots we tried in Naples. Don't bother coming here. There are so many other spots with better food and service.

The pizza was good but didn't really blow me away. We got the margherita and a two other pizzas which I can't remember the name of. The crust wasn't as chewy or stretchy as I imagined it would be. The edges weren't crispy or very thick like I expected either. There's certain things I expect to see in Neapolitan pizza which I just wasn't getting from Pavia. I got pizza elsewhere in Naples the next day and noticed the crust was much different and had singed crust by the wood fired oven. Pavia is OK but I've honestly had similar pizza back in the states. It's a good option if you're nearby but you may find something better if you look a little further.

It's the real deal!! He makes the art of pizza making look so effortless. A true pizza professional! On the advice of our local tour guide, we started with the Potato Croquette appetizer. The filling is a delicious smoked provola cheese from the mountains. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but the camera didn't eat first. The order comes with 2 large croquettes for sharing. Absolutely delicious! After that, we ordered our pizzas. I selected the Pizza Frittta Completa, and he went with the Come Una Capricciosa. We figured it would be a small portion based on the price. We were wrong. Especially the stuffed and fried pizza. I could have easily shared that one. I've never had anything like it. The filling was an explosion of different flavors. The fried dough was light as air. It's so unique! My husband's pizza was just as fantastic. I didn't get to try it, but he kept commenting on the light crust & freshness of the hand crushed tomatoes and provola cheese. He consumed all of it. Honestly, everything was delicious! This place has changed my view of Neapolitan pizza. I've never been a fan of soggy middles, but this was different. The service was actually very good here. We were able to somehow communicate between our very broken Italian, and their better than average English. The menus are in Italian but you can pull up the english version using the QR code at the table. There are desserts, but we didn't get to try them. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. This place was packed with local clientele after 1pm. It's very popular. Don't skip it when near Piazza del Plebiscito. I'm still craving that delicious Pizza Fritta.

I haven't eaten tomatoes this good on a pizza before, they felt super authentic and local The crust wasn't as airy as another place I've been, but it was still quite soft and pleasurable to eat. The bottom of the crust, though, was unparalleled. It was so unbelievably soft, and didn't even feel like you were eating pizza. A lot of the pizza I've eaten in the past has included this hard bottom curst that's noticeable, but this bottom crust just floated through each bite like butter. Holding up a slice was so floppy The cheese was also fantastic - I do wish there was slightly more of it - but it was still amazingly good I tried a bit of a vegan pizza that someone at my table ordered - and my god that was astoundingly good - even better than the margherita I had. If I was here again I would definitely order the pizza that had white sauce rather than tomato sauce - because even though the tomatoes were really good, I think I just prefer the alfredo-style sauce on pizza.

Multiplie locations exist, six in Naples, three on the same street! At first I wondered if it was a "Ray's Pizza" situation* though turns out they are all legitimately related, arising from the success of the pizzeria opened in by Gino Sorbillo. Aside from Naples they have locations in several other Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Bologna, Padua, and Genoa), even a location on Tokyo. This specific location where the pin is dropped on the Yelp map is for Gino e Tito Sorbillo, eponymously named for the now famous pizza chef and his brother, and the nicer sit-down version of the restaurant.** This is the original shop where it all began, and the business' historical headquarters. Outside, you'll see a couple paper cutouts of the chef, with a chef's coat and a smile. The unwavering popularity of their pizza is undeniable--one look at the crowds outside this storefront and it's immediately apparent. Be prepared as the wait is not for the faint-hearted or the extremely hungry. Luckily I had a snack before arriving (see separate review for Sfogliatelle Mary). 9:05pm: I arrived to a semi-circular crowd centered around the doorway of Gino e Tito Sorbillo. Headed up the hostess stand and she said 20-25 minutes so I figured why not. 9:30pm: the crowd around the door seems to have increased, at least stayed the same, a handful of parties were called up. I realize now that the hostess gives everyone the same estimate. Watching many parties that were there when I arrived--they are still waiting too. 9:50pm: I'm considering leaving at this point since there's significant second-hand smoke from multiple people smoking outside, though the crowd of people in front of the restaurant is going strong. 10:00pm: I go up to the stand and ask how much longer the wait will be, she says "oh you're a single diner right? I forgot, let me check." 10:05pm: she calls my name and ushers me inside. I'm seated at bar table seating at a window which works for me. Staff is quick to pass a menu, and take an order. 10:20pm the wait for the pizza after ordering was faster than expected. It only took about 7-8 minutes. Getting to the pizza--if you look up the definition of a Neapolitan style pizza, this is it! Served straight outta the oven as an entire pie, extremely thin, saucy in the middle, floppy base though evenly leopard-spotted on the bottom and the crust, pillowy and airy crust with a slightly crisp exterior. The tomato sauce was very fresh, and I loved the varying texture of the dough, great baked/slightly charred flavor. I got the Antonio which included regionally sourced cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, anchovies, basil. While I love both ingredients, the fish and capers together unfortunately were way too salty, I had to pick off some of these. Also I have to say as the pizza cooled, the room temp saucy dough wasn't quite as appealing as when it was hot. lol so if you consume it quickly it'll be fine! The serving size was also very generous, see pic with my hand next to the pie, I couldn't finish it in the end! Staff was quite friendly overall and I appreciated that they didn't pack the house or rush diners inside even with so many people waiting. That being said it was still pretty busy so you'll have to flag them down. After the meal, bring your bill up to the register to pay. *if you're familiar with NYC you'll know there are about 20 different Ray's Pizzas all claiming to be the original, which one is real? no one knows... **The other two locations on the same street are more casual, one is a takeout spot probably to handle the overflow from the main restaurant.

I was surprised by the aggressive nature of their tipping solicitation. I asked and looked up common tipping practices before we came. I always want to be a good tourist. Our server dropped the check and immediately proclaimed that doesn't include tip, even though there was a service fee. You don't write the tip in either. You have to tell the waiter. I was really caught off guard. The bill was 75 euro, so I said 15 euro. Thats 20% of the entire bill including taxes and other charges. Thats how I tip back home. He said, "19 euros." Lol! So, not only do you tip on top of a tip, they demand more. I accommodated because 4 euros won't kill me, it's not worth the hassle, and I'm not going to let it affect my families enjoyment of this beautiful place. Kind of a gross situation though.
