This place is so cool!! I had booked marked it before I even moved to Naples. On the corner is one of the longest run seafood markets, selling all types of fish and shellfish. It's a sight to see, and they are selling items they just brought from the boats. Next door is a restaurant where you can have the most amazing and fresh seafood dishes. What I been looking forward to is a cuoppo. This is the italian word for cone. You get a paper cone filled with fried seafood. I had a mixed cone, so you get some of everything. There was shrimp, calamari, octopus, anchovies, salmon, swordfish, and little dough balls that had sea weed in them! This place is legit. Was craving for some calamari tonight so decided to look for a place where the locals go and found this gem of a place. They literally sell fresh seafood in front and cooks them fresh to order. Everything we ordered were fresh and delicious. The calamari was well seasoned and portions are generous for €12. The fried anchovies was so delightful and full or umami flavor. Lastly the spaghetti with half lobster for only €20 was a steal!! It was perfectly cooked with good amounts of really lobster meat. And the entire dinner meal only costs me €49. I could have paid at least $150 for this is the US. Highly recommend this whenever your visit Napoli!! read more

Excellent experience! Beautiful, fresh food. Everything was great--best thing though was what I didn't get a picture of which was their mixed fried fish. Salmon, calamari, shrimp, white fish. You get it in a paper cone if buying to go, or in their signature metal trays if eating in. You will wait for a seat but service is excellent and as fast (or slow) as you want it. Phantastic local fish, best mussels I've EVER had, perfect fry job on the calamari- everything was top notch. Usually a line in the evening for the restaurant. Line moves fast, it's on the sidewalk, with heaps of fresh fish piled up behind so you see what you're being offered. Naples has outrageously good food, and this is one of the go-to spots. Going to a fish market during my weekend trip to Naples wasn't my first choice either, but some locals recommended it and I'm so glad I went! This place was so good I came back twice during my 2 day visit. Everything is so ridiculously fresh! After all, the "restaurant" is part of the fish market next door. The servers are very kind and basically can make you anything you want if they have it in stock. Some locals were sitting next to us and they recommended that we try the spaghetti with mussels and shrimp. I told them I wanted a grilled swordfish which technically was not on the menu, but they asked the server for me (in Italian), and she was very happy to accommodate. It was a PERFECTLY grilled swordish for only 8 euros. Also, their codfish fritter was a fantastic appetizer!! The outside has a walnut crust- absolutely creative and delicious.   The 2nd time I went, I ordered their crab with spaghetti. You get an entire crab which is quite impressive for about 15 euros. It was fantastic but messy haha I will definitely return if I'm back in Naples. read more

In this case looks can be deceiving,, when we walked up there was no tables and just the stand giving out seafood in paper cones with sticks. we asked for a table of six and basic menu was given to us in from which we ordered. The pasta with pesto pomodoro sauce and mussels was excellent, probably the most flavorful sauce. The spaghetti with crab was an entire crab over al dente pasta and was delicious (but messy). The fried calamari was good but not the best we had, worth ordering while you wait for your meals! All the seafood was fresh and we knew because their seafood market was right next to our table, seated outside. This place had amazing fried seafood!! They didn't have the seafood pasta when I was there (around 6:30pm), so I ordered the first item on the menu on the left hand side of the door (yes, their menus are on the door). It was served quickly. The seafood was served in a paper cone and it was so fresh and tasty that I couldn't forget. The cone included fried shrimps, squid rings, some kind of small fish and fish meat from some big fish. Definitely drop by for a meal or some snacks! read more

Average, at best, seafood -- utterly over-hyped. Horrid waitstaff; because I did not know the "system," I was ripped off; ordered inside, sat at table, was told I had to pay extra; paid extra euro; then I wasn't given a plate, asked for plate; was told that was extra two euro (BTW had I known the "system" I would have gladly initially sat at the table to order, so that I would have the opportunity to be treated with respect and dignity, which I was not by the arrogant, abrasive staff); was not given the water I ordered and paid for; nasty male worker started to berate me, then started to harass me, so much so that I picked up my belongings and left; had a few bites of the ABSOLUTELY AVERAGE seafood (I've had much better in Napoli and from my home country), and threw the mediocre food in the rubbish bin. I am living in Napoli for the summer. This was my worst experience. Never again will I patronize this dirty, dump of an establishment. read more

A close walk from Montesanto station, we walked a few minutes to reach this fish market/restaurant. Spaghetti alle vongole and mixed fried fish were ordered. The spaghetti (with clams) were simple but yet very, very aromatic. You can taste the olive oil, and lemon and the herbs which coated the pasta perfectly. The clams are small but fresh and cooked well. The fried fish basket consisted of small shrimp (very sweet!, yum!) cod, swordfish, squid, and sardines--all were lightly coated and quick fried. A bit oily but you can tell was made per order. Ordered with 2 small 50ml house white wine. The bill came down to €24. We would have liked to order more dishes but at the time we arrived the cook was on his way out on a break. Over all it was a very nice, lively place that offers chilled atmosphere. Service is typical Italian-- must lock eyes with the server. Minimal english but does have English menu version so shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy! read more
