I ordered an exhaust brake and Turbo for my vehicle. When I brought the truck in, I was told that the Turbo they ordered would not work for my truck. A company that specializes in turbos and they don't know what works? They were now going to order a variable vane turbo. Then I am told the exhaust brake they were going to order won't work, so we suggested a BD brake and they said that would work. For over 6 weeks, they attempted repairs. They had to put a tune into the truck to get everything to work correctly, and when I told them to order it directly from PPEI, they stated that PPEI was helping them write the tune and that they knew how to write tunes. If they know how to write them, then why did PPEI have to help them? In between these repairs and countless unreturned phone calls, they would give me the truck back only to have continual reduced power mode error codes, an exhaust brake that didn't work or no power. We found out that the Cheetah turbo they ordered had issues and was being recalled. We told ATS that and they sat on the information and then weeks later said it wouldn't work and that they would change it out for the stock turbo. Time after time, they gave me a completion date only to have them go weeks beyond that date. Never meeting the schedule they promised. I still don't have what I initially asked for, which was a working system to slow down my truck when hauling and some power when pulling a load. Not only is the exhaust brake useless, but my overdrive no longer works and my truck has no power. After I got the truck back and the exhaust brake didn't work, I contacted PPEI and was told that we needed to use the exhaust brake or the turbo with a tune, but not both. Why couldn't ATS tell me that? Because they wanted to charge me another $3000 to put on an exhaust brake, or they had no idea if it would work. Either way, they have no knowledge on how to do an exhaust brake or tunes. They returned my vehicle with the fuel light on and with 1/3 of a tank of coolant. The engine started to heat up the minute I tried to pull a trailer. Fortunately, I had coolant in my truck and was able to remedy the situation that ATS didn't even bother with. When I told ATS all the issues, they sent an email complaining about the amount of hours they put into the truck and that the BD brake was my idea. If they didn't know how to install the BD brake or how it works, they why didn't they say they didn't know how to work on the truck. And if they put some many hours into working on the truck, how is the fact that they didn't know what they were doing, my fault. They did send a check for $161 to cover the difference in the turbo, fuel and coolant cost. I have had my truck back for a few weeks and this morning, while I was out of town, my truck completely lost all power, will no longer start and had to be towed into a repair shop in Colorado Springs. It appears it still isn't fixed. read more
