While I was talking to the tech some guy came with name Eric so unprofessional started yelling and using F word so disrespectful saying that's all we do . never ever in my entire life seeing a manager talk to a customer like that . I will definitely take this to upper management, I will not recommend this place to anyone, and I will take my business elsewhere.

Went out to my car and the notification that they reset the oil life was on the dash. While clearing that to the main screen I saw that the tire pressure was at 28 psi for one of my tires. The receipt said they checked and all tires were at 38 psi. They claimed that they topped off the fluids, my window wash fluid was still empty, my coolant was low as well. They put that they checked the cabin air filter, I know they didn't because nothing was disturbed in my glove box where that filter is located. I actually pulled over to check the oil, it appeared that they did change it. I know that most of these are considered complimentary services but they also are safety items as well. For what they charged they obviously did not do what they claimed. I've been to a few other locations in the Grease Monkey chain here in the Denver metro area, the constant thing is less than honest customer service and they all are owned by the same franchise. Terrible customer service and dishonest practices seem to be the norm for these guys. I definitely will not be using them in the future.

BG Automotive? More like "BS" Automotive. The one star is for an oil change (since 0 stars is not…read morean option). BG Auto IS SHADY, smooth talking for sure, but A RIP OFF. STAY AWAY. This is a lengthy description, but it's not half the story. To all the glowing 5 star reviewers - check your invoices. The problem started with their "courtesy inspection" accompanying the oil change, where half of their recommendations (deemed red flag "Requires Immediate Attention") ultimately turned out to be mostly unnecessary and absurdly expensive. That became apparent only after paying. My bad, of course, I obviously should have asked to see a detailed estimate prior to the work. The initial estimate did not provide parts or labor detail & appeared to indicate the work was part of a "complete tune up." Upon dropping off the truck, "Service Advisor"Jesse stated that Champion copper spark plugs had been factory installed on 2013 RAM 2500s, so that was best & what BG would install. Classic BAIT & SWITCH: BG charged $508.48 for a set of 16 plugs! When I challenged the bill, asking if "kryptonite plugs" were installed instead, Jesse indicated, no, the copper plugs were used... then he checked his computer & stated, actually no, in fact the [far] more expensive NKG iridium plugs were installed. "They're much better because they last up to 100,000 miles," he emphasized. I replied, "Great. BG just changed out NGK iridium plugs that had been in the engine already, with only 60,000 miles on them." The WORK WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Also on the bill was a "TOTAL FEES" charge of $175.77 (yes, that specific), but with ZERO DETAIL of what those fees were for or how they were calculated. Jesse couldn't provide that detail either, "It could be shop supplies, or hazardous disposal - you know, those state regulations - it could be almost anything." Note there were no hazardous materials involved with this work, such as a tire or battery disposal fee. (Google search indicates: In Colorado, shop fees are usually calculated as a percentage of the labor cost (e.g., 5-10%) and are often capped at a maximum amount (e.g., $25 to $50). Also, Colorado statute requires the repair invoice to have some kind of description of these fees, and further, "a description of each part by name and identifying number." Nowhere on the invoice was the type of plugs installed specified, either. You get NADA DETAIL from BS Automotive. Finally, while repair shops typically mark up parts 70-100% of wholesale price, BG is marking up parts in the ballpark of 100% of retail price. (If you can pry out of them the parts brand they say they'll use, you can easily verify this with a Google search at their counter.) They should be ashamed and embarrassed for what they're charging the hardworking folks of Longmont. When pressed to justify the charges, Jesse insisted they were competitive, "within 5% of other local repair shops." More BS. Comparing apples to apples (parts & labor only), the local dealership quoted over $200 less, the Loveland repair shop I've frequented in the past was over $400 less (obviously, checked after the fact...). If the handful of other shops Jesse quoted are actually within 5%, they are ripping us off too. Jesse would not budge on the final bill, but he did offer to comp me an oil change. As if! I had already told him I would never set foot in BG Automotive again. However, I would take a call from the BG Automotive (Owner) to provide the rest of the story about this pathetic BG encounter.

What started as a simple oil change on my 2023 VW Atlas at 55,800 miles turned into a $500 bill and one of the most unprofessional customer experiences I've ever had. During my inspection, Pride flagged both my front and rear differentials as contaminated, showing me photos of fluid samples in paper cups. They told me the fluid was too dark, warned me it could cut my car's value in half if I wasn't under warranty, and said it was a VW-only service they couldn't perform. They told me to get to a dealership asap and to not delay. This was a Friday at 5:30 PM. I was at VW when they opened Monday at 8:00 AM. VW informed me the fluid in question is gear oil. It is naturally dark. That is its normal color. Pride created urgency and alarm over fluid that was behaving exactly as it should. The rear differential service I had done was based solely on the concern Pride raised, which VW confirmed was unfounded following the inspection Pride themselves recommended. As for the front differential, Pride accessed it during the inspection and compromised the plug in the process. VW informed me that once that plug is removed, a fluid service is mandatory with no option to decline. I was forced into a service on a component with no documented issue, solely because Pride accessed a system they admitted they couldn't service and didn't have the parts or fluid for. When I called to understand what happened, shop manager Josh was condescending and dismissive, telling me he was "glad VW serviced what was obviously a needed service." It wasn't due for another 4,200 miles. He then left a voicemail insisting they did nothing wrong, that the dealership was screwing me over, and asked me to remove my review before I had even posted one, as I was still trying to understand what happened. He claimed they only accessed the rear via a check plug and never touched the front. He then texted me claiming the front differential is sealed and that VW was selling me an unnecessary service, while embedding Pride's own inspection report in that same text showing a photo of front differential fluid in a paper cup labeled as contaminated. I replied asking "How'd we get this for the front?" He never responded. There is no innocent explanation for how Pride obtained a fluid sample from a system they claim they never accessed. Either they accessed it without the knowledge or equipment to do so safely, or they fabricated the finding entirely. What pushed this from frustrating to unacceptable: I never told Josh which dealership I went to. He called every VW dealership in the Denver metro area until he found the one I was at, then called and berated their service staff. VW confirmed this to me directly when I picked up my car. Josh claimed VW was ripping me off. If that's true, why was my entire $500 bill limited to servicing what Pride should not have accessed? On top of everything else, Pride flagged my battery as failing and recommended a nearly $400 replacement. VW tested it and confirmed it is in perfect condition. Not a single additional repair was recommended or sold to me at the dealership. I have the inspection report, voicemail, text exchange, and VW invoice to document.
