We have gone to this dancewear location for over a decade, and it's just as lovely after Atomic became the new owners. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and they usually have stock of what we need. We find it's better to buy from a physical store for dance shoes because we can check fit immediately. The character shoes that my daughter needed were not in stock this time around but the associate gave us very useful tips to get the shoes in time and with the correct sizing. Did not expect to break a sweat doing that! Glad she was there to help and take over for me when I couldn't do it anymore! Great dance boutique! Opened on Sunday and that in itself is amazing! Worth the 1.5 hr drive from LA to procure legitimate swing shoes. I called the boutique to see if they had my size and they did! Martha was great help, friendly, and patient. Even picked up some other items in the store. Neat place and great shopping experience... hope to eventually try out their studio sometime! read more

First, I love that the store is open on Sundays, because my kids have activities on Saturdays and I run other errands on Sunday and other dance stores are closed. I went in to get some good quality leotards and shoes for my little ballerina and the person working was amazing help! I didn't catch their name but they are from the east coast. They were on it and fitted my little pretty quickly with ballet slippers and helped us find the right size leotards and skirts. Will definitely come back for more items in the future! read more

Martha was extremely nice and very helpful. She provided her honest opinions on sizing for kids since they outgrow their footwear quickly, but ensuring it's not too big where it would become a safety hazard or discomfort to the kid. I needed a nude colored leotard for my daughter, not for dance, but for ice skating. It was the one item that I forgot to get her before her ice skating winter show. So I looked around on yelp and found Dans LA Danse! I called ahead of time to see if they had a nude leotard for a 3 year old toddler. Luckily they had one available. Went after work, and was surprised at how jam packed this little shop was. From dance shoes to apparel to all kinds of accessories. The lady who helped me out was very kind and even gave me a small discount. I ended up with a leotard and a little foam bun thingy so I can make her hair. If you are a serious dancer, any kind of dancer at any age. I think this is a great store. read more

I called the store before going in to see if they had size 8 ballroom shoes. A gentleman answered the phone and looked for me and said that they had a couple styles available in size 8. I got to the store a few hours after the phone call and told the person working that I had called asking about size 8 ballroom shoes. He immediately remembered and walked into the back and had a few boxes of shoes already ready for me to look at and try on! Since I've had a bad track record with dance shops closer to home, I had to venture to Orange County. The lady that answered the phone was nice, but said I'd have to call back since she was on hold with another call. I just told her I was looking for a certain item and she was able to write down the style # I provided and when I'd call back, she'd have an answer for me. And she did. Although the one I was looking for was not available, she was able to name off another style (which was actually my second choice) & I was on my way. Jeez, I don't know this area very well but Sky Park is a huge business area with some random businesses throughout. I got so lost. When I called, she was helpful and told me they faced Red Hill and she even went outside on the phone so I would find her. Ironically, there was a costume shop called 'Pink Kitty' a little further down, but this carried...different kinds of costumes that I don't need, if you catch my drift. Staff here was nice, not overtly friendly, but perfect where I can search without being hassled and compared to the non-existent (or just terrible) service I've had locally, they won the Congeniality pageant if there was one. I found what I was looking for in two different colors and finally was on my way. Even better, I changed my mind the following week and they let me exchange the item with no hassle at all. A different lady was assisting me this time, and she was just as good as the first. If you're in this area and in need of dance items, definitely give this place your time. read more

My daughter has been going to dance shoe stores all over Southern California since she was a few inches tall ( now many inches tall) the owner or whomever the red hair lady is needs to drink less of my favorite Starbucks coffee and less iPhone time and pay more attention to the needs of the girls being fitted. read more

I thought going in or calling on Sunday would be a good idea since the owner might be in for fitting but the lady that works there Sundays is... how you say in a nice way.. horrible ... absolutely horrible no customer service skills, looks hung over or high, maybe close the store on Sunday instead of treating customers this way. Avoid coming here by all means and go to corporate store 15 minutes away that knows how to hire and train employees, it's all the same prices why even bother coming here. read more

Ever been to an establishment where you feel rushed and pressured to buy and you know you are not ready to ? Well, this is exactly how I felt here. In my saga to find the right jazz shoes for my beginner daughter, I came here. Even better was they offered 20% off your entire purchase - WOW! Well, I learned, not so wow after all. The first thing that turned me off was there were no prices on the dance shoes and when I asked the sales lady the price, she hesitated and it seemed she was making it up as she thought best. "$30 something with discount" is what she told me. I asked, "Are there any other brands/styles available?" She answered my question with a question - Don't you hate that? Well, I do. "What brand are you looking for?" Heck if I know! I just want to know what all my options are ok?! All she would say is, this is the brand that all jazz classes use. I asked about the 20% advertised discount and she said, that's already factored in the $30 something price. Because I felt very rushed, I thanked her for her time and said I will be checking out other stores. Discount Dance Supply offered the same shoes for less and without all that pressure. read more

In the time since I originally reviewed I think we both must have had an off day. I have shopped here multiple times since and always had great service. They carry a large amount of stock in different dance shoes and are excellent at fitting. They are extremely knowledgeable and away of the different dance studios needs. read more

I've been going to the previous store for 10+ years, always was good and open. I've been 3 times since the new ownership, the first time was ok, they were mostly taking inventory and not very attentive. The 2nd time, closed for lunch at 3:10pm, they are only open for 5-6hour a day as it is. Today, they are closed for an emergency. I'm not so sure this store is going to make it. If you want a wide selection and professional fitting, this is the place to go. I have been dancing in an academy since I was 8 and I am picky on style of leotards and I obviously know how I want my shoes to fit. Last time I went, Audrey was helping a girl fit some point shoes and I was honestly SHOCKED to see the variety of point shoes she had in stock. It's rare for a store to have so much in stock and knowing Audrey for a while now, I know she's a reliable person for great, honest help. She looks at girl's feet everyday, how could she not be pro by now? Pricing is high but brands like Capezio and Bloch are consistently expensive everywhere else. I've been to Discount Dancewear before this and Dancewear's Choice at the UCI mall and honestly, their selection and service does not compare (plus their prices are just about the same). Service is inconsistent at these places, especially with the young employees who have only been working there for a short amount of time. If you know exactly what you want, then that's a different story. However, since I am always on the lookout for some awesome pair of ballet warmups and a cool design on leotards, I know this place helps me looking and feeling my best in class. read more

There is a great selection of dance gear. We were the only cust and she didn't recommend anything or say much. Maybe I didn't look like a big spender. Who knows. She did ask my daughter her name when we were checking out. Anyways make sure you know what you want because the help isn't much in my experience. With 2 girls in dance and musical theater, we've burned through a lot of dance shoes. This is our "go to" place recommended by my daughter's ballet teacher when she first started pointe. The ladies here have extensive knowledge on the different types of dance shoes... how they typically fit, what works best for each foot, etc. We've never been steered in the wrong direction. They keep records on the type of shoe you like, so replacements are easy. We've purchased every type of accessory here too, especially tights (lots and lots of tights). Came here looking for shoes for salsa dancing. The staff was in the backroom so I had to wait a couple minutes for them to come out. When they did come out, they were very accommodating and wanted to put the shoes on for me, like I was royalty or something. Extremely appreciated gesture, but having people putting shoes on for me is too weird for me, I'm not that spoiled. Thankfully, they let me put on my own shoes. They have a small dance floor area where I got to try a spin in the shoes. Overall very friendly and very speedy service. read more

For anyone looking for dance wear, I would go somewhere else. They do not have great customer service and don't have a very good system for returns or exchanges for items that you didn't actually wear or use. A few weeks ago, I went in to buy a pair of jazz shoes. They definitely had a nice selection, but I had to wait almost 10 minutes before I was offered any help for trying the shoes on, even though I was the only one in the store. As soon as I was helped, I felt very rushed to make my purchase and leave the store. Today, I called the store to see if I could return the shoes because I no longer needed them for the class I was planning on taking. I explained to the lady on the other end that I had worn them one time at home to make sure they both fit before my class. She told me to bring them in and she would return them. But when I went it to the store I was told that the shoes were not "new" so they could not be returned or exchanged for store credit. Even though I had called and spoke with someone on the phone about the return, they would not take the shoes back. What a waste of $40! Definitely won't be recommending this store to any of my friends. read more
