DO NOT RENT HERE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR FACILITY CONDITIONS!…read moreI would NOT recommend this storage facility to anyone! My experience with Guardian Self Storage has been extremely disappointing, from the unprofessional management to the poor condition of the units. I have been renting here for over a year and have consistently paid a high monthly rate. Now, they are advertising the same storage unit sizes for 50% off, so I asked Kathy, the manager, if she would honor the current promotional pricing for a loyal, long-term customer. Instead of providing a clear explanation, she stutters lying to me. She could not give me a straight answer as to why the new pricing could not be honored. The entire conversation was frustrating and unprofessional. It makes you feel like they value new customers more than the customers who have been paying them month after month. And the problems do not stop there! The sliding doors on the units are in such poor condition that they come off their tracks, making it difficult to properly open and close them. On top of that, the excessive amount of dust and dirt that gets inside the unit is absolutely unacceptable. Most of my furniture has now been damaged because of these conditions. You rent a storage unit expecting your belongings to be protected, not to find your furniture covered in dirt and potentially ruined! Another major concern is the strong smell of secondhand smoke that hits your face as you walk into the front office as if the couple had been smoking in there. The smell is overwhelming and makes the office environment unpleasant. BEWARE OF THE PRICING! Just because they advertise lower rates does not mean they will offer those rates to existing customers. According to my experience, you can be stuck paying a much higher monthly rate even when the same size units are being advertised for half the price. I was also told there were no available units to downsize to, leaving me with very few options. When I asked to speak with the owner about these concerns, I was told they could only provide a first name and that I would need to write a note for the owner, which they would supposedly forward. Seriously? As a paying customer with legitimate concerns, I expected much better communication, transparency, and accountability. Kathy and Rick, who are presented as the managers, need to understand that customer service matters. The way these concerns were handled felt dismissive, unprofessional, and unacceptable. WHO IS THE OWNER OF GUARDIAN SELF STORAGE? If the owner is reading this, I would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly with you about my experience and the condition of your facility. Customers deserve honest communication, fair pricing, a clean storage environment, and management that takes their concerns seriously. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report my experience. Save yourself the frustration and think twice before renting here! Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this facility. Poor customer service, questionable pricing practices, dirty storage conditions, and a lack of accountability have made this an extremely disappointing experience.
