They had the used car we were looking for in stock, and Matt helped us schedule a test-drive and went over the condition and Carfax report with us. Later, we test drove it with Sam and he was clear and candid with all the information they had about its history, past care / work, etc. When we decided to purchase the car, the transaction was straightforward and we arrived at a very fair price. I was baited and switched on my purchase of a new Subaru Outback from Atlantic Subaru in Bourne, MA. I purchased this new car in April 2012 but was baited with an attractive price of around $30,000. When signing came one week later the agreed sale price had become $37130. Full retail on the vehicle and all accessories. I raised the question to the business manager who assured me that any mistakes or errors could be rectified after signing. I was advised not to worry and assured they could be adjusted later if a mistake was. I was foolish in not calling the salesman in or just walking out but I didn't see it for the switch that it was. I continued to question the higher price but allowed myself to be lulled into signing thinking I was dealing with a reputable dealership and the price would be adjusted later. When I walked out of the signing, I explained my problem to the salesman and asked to see the new car worksheet he worked from. He assured me it was available but not at hand. If there were any problems, I could speak to the dealership owner (who wasn't then available). I realize I shouldn't have let myself be sidetracked but I did. On returning a few days later and speaking with the owner, I found him to be dismissive and attempting to dazzle me with facts and figures that didn't pertain to the price discrepancy just, as the business manager and salesman had done. The owner also insisted the higher price was a result of extras which as mentioned above were not Subaru promotions but still didn't explain why the sales price had changed so drastically. I left frustrated and dissatisfied. I canceled the Subaru dealer add-ons that were not required of me for a new car purchase. Needless to say the price was still inflated reflecting full retail price. I am now using a different Subaru dealer who would have sold me the exact vehicle for $32,922 instead of Atlantic Subaru's $37130 (before taxes and fees). read more

Jack was extremely curt over the phone. I called interested in a vehicle, providing the VIN, and when they said it was available I said I would be by that day. I drove 1.5 hours to purchase a vehicle, only to arrive and realize it had been sold out from under me. The dealership had my name and number, knew I was coming for that car and that car only, but couldn't even take the two seconds to call me and let me know that they sold it. They then proceeded to tell me about all of the upsells that the women who purchased the car was getting. My experience was that the Atlantic Subaru's sales department was incredibly disrespectful and did not value my time as a hopeful customer. I believe in under-promising and over-delivering, at Atlantic Subaru in Bourne they overpromised and had no vehicle to deliver. I would not recommend buying from here. Lovely purchase experience, fabulous vehicle, followed by terrible after-treatment. We immediately cancelled the GAP insurance they sold us for $895 (our insurance co. did it for $22/yr!) and after 5 months, many phone calls, emails, they still have not paid the loan company so it's still including in our statement balance! Will file consumer complaint with attorney general's office, as all of you should who've been screwed by these people. read more

We received an email quote that read we've got your deal. Term 36 months 12000 miles/year. Monthly payments including taxes and fees $100. $2200 due at signing for a Subaru Impreza. When we went to the dealership we were told that the salesman was "on vacation". The deal was $198 a month or $5400 down for $106 a month. They don't honor their quotes be careful for the bait and switch tactics. read more

For some reason it came across as if they were genuinely trying to help me find what I was looking for rather than just rushing me into a sale, which is what I experienced elsewhere. Worst experience ever. I should have gone with my initial instinct which was to run. I was initially looking at a car with a certified pre owned service agreement. I decided to go with a different car, but asked if I could still get the CPSA. The sales man Mat said of course. I didn't realize they were charging me 1,995.00 for it. Not to mention they sold me a car before telling me they didn't have the title. I told them I was going to cancel and they threw in some mats, paid my first payment, and gave me a loaner. Still I'm thinking "run". 7 days later I received my car. They met me outside with the paper work in an envelope...odd. I drove away still not feeling good about my purchase. I got home and when I opened the envelope I was in shock at how much I paid for the car. and yes i did sign it.... crazy!!! I had waited years to purchase a car. It's not new, its a 2015. I immediately realized I made a huge mistake. I called Tony the finance guy to tell him I would like to take warranties off. He proceed to tell me there was nothing he could do. I then told him I didn't want the car, and he said " you drove it off the lot its yours now." I tried calling the general manager whom passed me off to Mat the salesman, No help of course. I can't even enjoy my car, because I feel so victimized. I have gone to two other dealer ships to see if I could trade the car in, but they have told me I would take a big loss. I have been in contact with Corporate Subaru and,The Better Business Bureau, and who ever else will listen. If reading this I say "RUN" and don't look back. I love the car, the experience was awful. I finally decided to write a review. I have been so angry and think about this often. I NEVER write reviews because I feel bad leaving anything negative, but they didn't feel the need to make me feel as though I left happy...so here goes... I went down one afternoon in with Sept or Oct. (told you, I've been struggling with this for a while!) I met with Mark. I was looking to get into something different, actually to lower my payments on my GMC Terrain. So I was looking at an Outback. We went on a test drive and I left because of an errand. Okay i didn't have to go back later that day, but Mark called and said if I went back that night, they would give me an extra $500 on my trade and bring the cost of the outback down. So I did. Drove a few more..was really hesitant, but with a lot of talk ended up signing paperwork. Mark told me I had to take the car that night. My Terrain was packed with stuff they gave me a bag to put it in. Outback didn't even have gas...i had to stop and get it and they reimbursed me. So just before they closed i left. Did I mention I have a back and leg disability so it's hard for me to sit in cars...well after a few days of driving this car I knew it wouldn't work, I was in horrible pain and using my cane more than usual. After enduring it for almost 2 weeks I went back in tears. They said i could absolutely trade out of it...and thankfully they still had my Terrain. After trying to get my into many other vehicles, I just wanted my Terrain back. I was comfortable in it and it is a great vehicle. I love my Terrain, I think I was just having a weak moment. So after the title came in I was able to make a deal to get my car back...this is where it gets in worse. I had to pay thousands more to by my car back than they gave me for a trade (they said they put over $2,000. in it.. they said they did the brakes and oil change...pretty expensive, and to make things even worse...they knocked thousands off what I paid for the Outback because I was trading it in. I feel I was totally taken advantage of. I would give them 1/4 star if I could and that would only be because they have good snacks in the waiting room. Be careful!!! read more

I've bought more cars than the average person over 30 years and I am from out of state so vehicle was shipped to me. Starting with Jack Hessler in sales who is the throwback "thats not an oil leak, thats just sweat from all that Horsepower" car sales mentality, to the complete non-responsive management (including president). Their motto should really be "we stand so far behind your purchase, you wont even know were back here". The bottom line is if I was a die hard Subaru fan and Atlantic Subaru was a block from my house, I would still buy the 74' Pacer that is 1700 miles away instead. read more

Found a Ford Edge on auto trader that I decided to purchase from here. My salesman, Russ, informed me, and I quote "you'll find that working with us is very easy". That is crap. He kept saying how it would be shampooed/detailed/cleaned when I got it, and there's crumbs in the CD player (not that it gets used...but still), definitely wasn't shampooed cause it still smelled like the rear end of a pig - still the same dirt and grime in the crevices that was in it when I test drove it. They had the car for OVER a week after it was purchased (due to no fault of their own, since it was a complicated deal trying to get it registered) - but at the least while it was sitting there being fixed I would have liked a little 'thanks for filling my pocket with your purchase' with the detailed car I was promised (and the paint chip that never got covered like I was told). Definitely wouldn't be back here again and I wish I read the reviews ahead of time...but that's my own fault. Crappy customer service. I'm not a car buyer nor have I bought a lot of cars in my lifetime, so I can't comment on the price...but I wouldn't go here ever again based on my experience. read more

Although I bought my 2004 Subaru Forester from Atlantic Subaru, kept up on all the regular services, ( 30, 60, 90 thousand miles), my last experience was horrible. I looked at the receipts and figured out they changed the mechanic person who normally did service. I had a 90,000 mile service and since that time had nothing but problems. I went back 3 times for an oil smell and smoking engine and they insisted nothing was wrong. I tried local mechanics and still no result. All my problems with the car started with this service. We spent close to $4000 to get the car up to par and it was a waste. Although I was a fan of Atlantic Subaru for years and was happy with all service, this was the end. Three years later I found out that the oil leak smell and smoking from the engine was an easy thing to identify. (I finally went to Beard Subaru). Wish they still had the mechanic I had dealt with for years. Will not return to Atlantic Subaru for this reason. read more

A little discouraged! I picked up a nail in my tire which I didn't think would last until morning. I called Atlantic to see if they could plug it and was told there was no way they could look at it that day as there was no one available. Not only did I buy my vehicle from Atlantic and had it faithfully serviced there, but the repair would have literally taken FIVE minutes to do. It was getting late and I had to scurry around to find someone to do it. I wasn't even told that I may have to wait, I was just told "not today." The Sales Manager one Mike Falco was so insulting in his treatment to me that in a subsequent call in an attempt to speak with the general manager of Atlantic Subaru I had profanities and insults hurled at me (again by Mr. Falco) as I tried to remain civil telling Mr. Falco that the way I'd been treated at his dealership was "no way to sell cars". My husband bought a very high end car from Sam a few weeks ago. We had to arrange for shipping because we're out of state. There were several delays on getting the car here and upon arrival we find out that there are no plates and no registration. They have sent the registration to a third party to get us plates (the joke is that the firm they're using is called it'seasy they are out of New York - I can tell you it's anything but easy). So we've had a car now for a week that we can't drive and we're paying for a rental. We could have walked into the DMV ourselves with the registration upon arrival of the car and gotten plates same day. So what are we waiting for? Some agency they use to Fedex the registration to our state so they can wait in line and then they fedex the plates back to Atlantic Subaru and then they fedex them to us. How in the world does that make ANY sense???? The plates have been in state since last Friday and we offered to pick them up!! Last week we were told they would have the plates here Tuesday and today they're saying Wednesday. I'm starting to wonder if the whole thing is a scam? So we have a very expensive car that we've paid for, can't drive and we're paying for a rental and the dealership doesn't seem to care. read more

I agree with Nick B.review posted on 2/2/2007. - Stay away, don't waste your time. - Won't stick to the price agreed on phone earlier. We are looking for used 2013 Audi Q7. Spoke to 'Internet sales' person about the price.He seems to be happy with our offer and even asked for the CC details for the deposit. As we are new to US, I have only $1000 limit CC with secure deposit, we told him we spent some on the card and we are good to put $500 deposit on CC. As we live 75 miles away, we made very clear through emails & on phone that NO price agreement NO test drive. So he asked us to come down for a test drive with out taking deposit. We went with $5K deposit thinking that we will be buying the car today. The 'Internet sales' person introduced us to the real sales person. The car was pretty good(hence the single star). After the happy test drive back inside, everything back to square one. The sales person started negotiating the price. I explained him that we spoke earlier and agreed at XXX price. He said that the 'Internet Sales' persons job is only passing information and replying to emails and can't decide the price. Than I told him I am happy to buy the car immediately for the price I offered earlier and agreed. But he was still negotiating. Atlantic Subaru in Bourne is NOT TO BE TRUSTED. We put a downpayment on a car with huge brand new Pirelli tires on it. When we showed up to finish up the paperwork, they'd swapped the tires out for much smaller, old, worn tires. Unfair and deceptive business practice. Shady. read more

Simply the worst in customer service and deceptive advertising. Am currently protesting the $175 dollar regular oil change at 18000 where I was charged $57 labor (hourly rate of $357). Went in after doing my research online. I knew what features and what price point I wanted to be in, just not which Subaru since I was new to the brand. Matt took the time to let my boyfriend and I test drive several different models until I found what I was looking for (with him in the vehicle as well as without, which I appreciated so that I could talk openly with my boyfriend about what I liked/disliked about each vehicle). He went back and forth with different lease/buy options I was entertaining. I ended up leasing a Forester that I like very much and even though the price point came out a little higher once I added in certain protection options, I'm still very satisfied with my experience! Never got to test drive the car I was interested in. Had an appointment set up to test drive a vehicle I was interested in. Showed up at the agreed upon time and walked into the dealership. Was not greeted by anyone on my way to the front desk. After standing at the counter for a minute the person introduced himself. He happened to be the contact I had set up the appointment with. He told me to wait one minute while he found an available sales person. I waited 15 minutes looking around the showroom. Still nothing. And not one word from any of the employees. I walked out. 15-20 minutes later my phone rings... followed by an email. "I was just too going to pull the car around for you when I turned around you were gone." This was the story I received. I understand things can get busy. However, we had an appointment. The car should have been waiting there when I showed up. A hello would have been nice.... one that I did not initiate. My time is precious to me. I work hard all week. Saturday (the day if my appointment) is my free time. There are plenty of other dealerships not too busy to say hello and offer some form of customer service. If this is how Atlantic Subaru treats potential cutomers.... i cannot imagine how they might treat a customer with any kind of issue. I will be spending my money everywhere. read more

Wish I had read the previous review befor buying a car from these people. Do not trust them, they will say whatever thay have to to get you to buy. Their customer service is almost non-existant. After picking up my new car I tried to get the original salesman on the phone to answer some questions. I was told that he was too busy with the 'Cash for Clunkers Program' and he would not be able to get back to me for a few days. Asked to speak to someone else, got 'Mike' who introduced himself as sales manager. Mike told me that I would have to physically come in to the dealership to get answers to the questions I had and that whatever the salesman said did'nt matter because their contract was all they go by. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and would strongly advise going elsewhere. Read all of the reviews on other sites befor going to these shysters. read more

Jack in the Parts Dept saved our vacation. We forgot that our bikes were on our roof when we pulled into grab cash at the ATM.....CRUNCH!!!! The worst sound. Bikes somehow survived but the bike rack twisted into a question mark. We called the nearest Subaru dealership and got Jack. My experience buying a new Forester from Atlantic Subaru was exceptional. I began with getting a quote over the Internet. It was a good price and, as important, my questions were clearly and directly answered - not an automated response - unlike another dealership I approached. When I went in for a test drive, I asked for Peter since a friend recommended him. Just as she had mentioned, he was not at all pushy- truly a sales consultant who simply wanted to be sure I was aware of options and who respectfully answered my questions with no pressure whatsoever. The sales manager Rick was also genuinely nice and helpful which I'm sure filters down to his staff. We did not trade in a car so I have no experience here. I have driven the award winning Forester for over a week and like everything about it - foremost it's quality. While we bought the Limited, I appreciate that all wheel drive is built into even the basic model. I also look forward to the complimentary car wash with service, too. Thank you, Atlantic Subaru.
