Cape Cod Auto Connection is the best place to buy a used car. Tom the owner is honest, fair and great to work with.

I had no intention of writing a 'review' tonight, I stumbled upon this Yelp page looking for…read moresomething else and read the review below from "Chris H". Reviews like this happen when guys don't know anything about cars but they think they do. "Scott has a propensity to REPLACE things vs. FIX them". Son, please. When your brakes are gone what would you have him do - chip off the old pads and super glue on new ones? No one turns rotors anymore, they're disposable. If you had done your pads when they started to squeak you wouldn't need rotors, and if you hadn't waited until the vehicle was shaking to a stop you wouldn't need the calipers either. And how does one "fix" suspension? Shocks, struts wear out and they get replaced, they're not serviceable. Then the whining about a clutch issue, seriously? You DO KNOW Scott was the Clutch Mechanic for the AA pro alcohol funny car team "Follow A Dream" right? You think that guy is going to be stumped by a Nissan truck clutch? Are you serious? My female advice, learn how to drive a clutch. And 'no' I haven't discussed this 'client' with Scott either, I don't have to, I can read.... JEEZ! I've known Scott forever, seriously, I'm old. He's my mech for my daily driver, a 17 year old Acadia and for my pride and joy, a major show winning 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood. Scott's attention to detail with the cars is PAINFUL. He's as OCD as I am, the cars are FIXED when they leave there, they never go back for the same issue twice. His attention to "old school" with the Caddy is Godly. We discuss issues, repairs, parts, he lets me source my own because I'm as nuts about parts as he is, and he always finds parts for that Caddy I can't find anywhere, don't ask me how. The shop is BUSY. You can't just show up and think they'll drop everything in most instances, other customers are waiting too. Try "dropping" by your doctor's office without an appointment and get back to me. His mom Terry, the office manager, is a SAINT. She has to put up with people like "Chris H". She just smiles, keeps everyone happy and keeps the shop on time. I'd be an axe murderer in her job... I highly recommend Station Ave Sunoco for repairs. And he's selling some very decent used cars for very affordable prices too.

I'm writing this review as a PSA to people in this community to avoid this auto repair shop…read more Scott likes to think that he's a running a big name dealership, and that he's in the professional services business for billable time. He's also dishonest, does poor quality work, will not warranty the jobs that he does, and will not work with his customers to find reasonable resolutions to their problems and concerns. I have had a 4+ year history of using this shop for my auto repair needs. I have had them do work on my Cadillac and 2 different Nissan pickup trucks. I've spent over $14k over the last 4 years on repair services. Scott has a propensity to REPLACE things vs. FIX them. When my truck needed suspension maintenance, I was informed that everything needed to be replaced - all shocks and struts and related components. $2200 When my brakes needed service, instead of fixing them, I was told that all of my entire brake system including calipers, rotors, pads, etc. had to be replaced. $2800. When my pickup truck clutch started to fail, I was told that the entire clutch, pressure plate, master cylinder, etc. needed to be replaced. $3k. This was the turning point in our relationship. You see, the problem with a guy like Scott is that replacing systems is highly profitable work. But when it comes to replacing highly complex mechanical system like a clutch, he's not an experienced mechanic with these areas. But I didn't find that out until later. The truck worked fine for the first month, and progressively got worse. It whined incessantly, and degraded rapidly. After 6 months the clutch had failed completely. It's been like this for the last year. I called repeatedly over the first 6 months, asking for assistance and hoping that he'd take an interest in ensuring my investment was working properly. I even went by their shop several times with the truck hoping that Scott would take a moment to look at the vehicle. Scott's standard reply is to 'make an appointment' and the underlying theme with him is he's happy to take your money but has no time to service his work. Each time I'm told that I'll be paying a fee for the evaluation. I'm not ok with that. Scott is notorious for charging for every appointment. I didn't feel as though I wanted to spend $165 for him to evaluate his own failed work. I don't have time to continually drop off the truck, arrange for transportation and wait several days for a response. Fast forward, and I have to have the truck repaired due to its relationship with my boat. I have the truck looked at by a different shop that was recommended to me. The new shop did the evaluation by putting a scope up in the clutch housing to visually inspect the internals. The new shops says that the clutch was completely destroyed, doesn't look like a year old clutch, and shouldn't have failed after 5k miles (regardless of time). The new shop was reluctant to disparage another local mechanic, but said that to the best of their experience, it didn't look like the internal parts had been replaced, but wouldn't know until it was apart. Minimally it wasn't installed properly, and in the worst case I was outright scammed and the plate and other internals were never replaced. They asked me if I was provided the damaged parts or reviewed those damaged parts when the job was complete. I have never had that opportunity. This new shop also said that any reputable mechanic should stand behind their work, regardless of timeframe. They also told me that I was grossly overcharged for the work by almost 100%. I took the truck back to Scott thinking that he'd be a stand up guy and work something out with me. The guy that I spoke with (not Scott) who took the truck in when I dropped it off was very surprised and seemed genuinely interested in resolving the issue. I waited a week for a reply. Instead of talking to me directly, Scott had his mom deliver the bad news. His mother is Grade A jerk. Might be most unpleasant person on the planet. I was informed by Scott's mother that they were not going to warranty their work, that too much time had passed, that I'd made multiple appointments and no-showed, and that I hadn't informed them of this problem previously. She then quoted me $2700 to fix the same clutch that I just had them repair a year ago. There aren't enough bad things that I can say about this situation, so I'll stop there. The notion that I'm going to pay Scott twice for the same job after the first one failed is ludicrous. I'll pay someone, but it won't be him. As long as you're willing to pay billable time for Scott's services, drop your vehicle off for days, and REPLACE parts and systems, you'll be fine. It goes without saying that this is the end of my business relationship with Station Ave Sunoco. This shop displays terrible business ethics, does poor quality work, and does not stand behind their work. AVOID.

Sent me on wild goose chases since they did not know Massachusetts law regarding registration of my new lease. They knew nothing and never apologized for my lost time. Totally unacceptable. The kicker is that since I was unhappy with the sales person. Pavel, who is not much of a resource, the General Manager, Matt Skinner, told me to call with questions. I was not given much of a tour of the car. (Later, I went to my old dealership in Virginia, the superior Ourisman KIA, and a sales person there showed me the features of the car.). I couldn't get the Bluetooth to work. It was supposed to be set up but it wasn't. Again, who are these deficient employees at KIA? Matt Skinner gave me his card and said to call him with any questions. When I called about the Bluetooth not working, he said it was set up (NO IT WAS NOT), got frustrated with me and said, I swear, "This is my f-ing day off". Only he used the word. I was incensed and told him I am a lady and how dare he swear at me a customer. How dare he swear like this to a woman! I have registered a complaint with KIA, who were appalled at this behavior. I am taking my complaint to the highest level at KIA. I was a manager of employees for MANY years. If ANY of my people behaved in this way, they would be packing up their desk. This should have consequences. STAY AWAY FROM THAT MAN! He's an abomination to KIA.
