The office (Rich & Shanna) were nice & the moving men were nice but I cannot recommend them in Carrollton, TX. We hired them to load our furniture into U-Haul pods. They loaded our items haphazardly and inefficently by leaving large spaces. Some boxes were only supported on the box below it by a tiny edge. Other boxes were placed on their sides & fell out of the truck when the door was opened. Items that were obviously fragile were placed underneath heavier items. Because of their inefficiency in packing we had to rent more of the U-Haul pods than we needed to costing us more money in storage now & moving costs later. I will say we had a good experience on a previous move with Jesse but that was not the movers in Carrollton. read more

We have seen this company at its best and at its worst. Our move from Texas was superb. As soon as we left Texas, the move turned into a nightmare. Johnny Shanks was our moving consultant. Once we left Texas, he ignored our phone calls and to date - we are yet to hear from him. We arrived at our destination and only two movers showed up for their largest truck. The guys worked themselves to death and had a snappy attitude half way through the day. As evening came, they were still unloading. 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and they were basically dumping stuff any and everywhere. Antiques were broken due to negligence and well-labeled boxes were dumped and not delivered to correct rooms. We haven't settled our claims as of yet, because Johnny is yet to return a single phone call. We are at the point of hiring an attorney to bring this to a close and file for damages to our items. We had full value replacement insurance. I hate to pull the attorney card, but they've left us with no other choice. This was our 8th big move using a large moving company - so we are well-versed on the moving process. No move is ever perfect, but this experience has been nothing less than deplorable. I would stay far away from this company. They are an embarrassment to the Atlas name. read more

I can't say enough about Atlantic Relocation in Carrollton, TX. I interviewed 2 movers and chose Atlantic because of Johnny Shanks. His knowledge of moving while providing a thorough survey of our home made me choose Atlantic. I'm glad we did. We moved from Southlake to Chicago, my entire family was stressed from the beginning, however, every question I had was answered and good advice was given on how to handle some packing concerns. I also spoke with Anne and she was very helpful. If it had not been for their support throughout our move, I don't know what shape I may be in now. LOL. We interviewed 4 moving companies and the most thorough, professional, knowledgeable and helpful sales professional was Rich Havemann. He has also been incredibly responsive via email, phone calls and text. He visited our house twice to ensure an accurate estimate. He answered all our questions, stopped by on the day of our move, and called after the first part of our move to follow-up. Rich is fantastic. Anne was also very good as our moving coordinator; very responsive and on top of everything. Our moving crew of three was also great, extremely careful with our furniture and the house now owned by the buyers, they were also friendly and professional. We will be storing our furniture for 6 months in Texas and then the crew will move our furniture from Texas to Arizona. I'll add another review in 6 months when our move is complete. My employer used this moving company as part of my relocation package and I couldn't have been more pleased. They arrived at my initial home in Georgia at the time they told me and packed up all of my items within 1 day. They securely wrapped all of my fragile items as well and they stayed secure during the entire transit to California. Then they kept me informed while my items were in route (which took about 1-2 weeks) regarding when they were coming. Also made sure I didn't need any city permits to move my items into my home. They arrived in California and managed to park the truck without disrupting any of my neighbors. They unloaded all of my items within 6-7 hours and removed any empty boxes I had. Would highly recommend this company for any long haul moves!! read more

I've moved quite a bit and out of all my moves, I've been through 3 long distance moves. Atlantic Relocation Systems has been the BEST movers compared to all the professional movers I've used in the past. Everyone at the company (estimator and my main contact throughout the move process) were always extremely responsive--and answering my emails late at night and even on weekends. The movers packed all of our stuff with great care and detail. They even repacked boxes in the garage and added extra cushioning to make sure nothing would break. Our things had to be unloaded into storage, moved out of storage, and eventually transported to San Diego. The moving team in Dallas was friendly, respectful, and some of the hardest workers I've seen. Everything was safely moved to San Diego and no items were lost (miraculous for a move that goes into storage, and a long-distance transport afterwards). Plus, out of everything we had, only 2 items had minor damage to them (toaster and a file cabinet). I was amazed that none of the glassware was damaged. The care they took in packing everything was top notch. For the items that were damaged, we filed a claim and Atlas reviewed it within a few weeks and paid us to replace those 2 items. I would highly recommend Atlantic Relocation Systems and Atlas! read more

Watch out for the estimate. They brought in the person for the estimate, and it was 2300 pounds lighter. So, deliver was an extra $2200.

I've looked at the very mixed reviews for this company and am wondering if there was a particularly bad employee in the past who ruined some moves for their customers. I have to say, our experience was STELLAR, and I would absolutely schedule my move around being able to have the same driver and crew come do it. We had a long distance move from Dallas Texas to the Seattle WA area. I talked to three major companies. We chose Atlas/Atlantic Relocation Services not because they were they cheapest (they were not) but because I got straight answers from Sheryl Poole when I asked them. Everything she said would happen, happened...packers showed up, movers showed up, and our belongings made it in good shape across the country. Anne Schell handled things once the move was scheduled. Both were easy to reach and very responsive to my questions and requests. John Nichol was our driver, and it's always a very good sign when the crew shows up and hugs the driver. ; ) Our furniture was very professionally handled. We have many pieces that have been in the family a hundred years or more, so there was a lot of sentiment involved. The packing and wrapping of our furniture and items reassured me. Seeing the truck packed thoughtfully and tightly reassured me too. Having packers, a crew, and a driver who were excellent at their jobs (and even fun to be around) was the most reassuring element of all. "Above and beyond" was their motto. We have moved a LOT. I've had movers that have made me cry. I've had movers who set a heavy piece down and outright refused to pick it up again. I know what's out there in the moving world. This was a luxury move for me, because I had the rare luxury of not being in a constant state of anxiety during the process. I can recommend Atlantic Relocation services one hundred percent. And I'm not kidding, if I have to move again, I'm waiting for John. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I've moved long distance (with storage) several times with professional movers - mostly corporate moves. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had - it's almost unbelievable how our things were handled and how we've been treated. We recently relocated from Frisco to Orlando. It was not a paid corporate employer move - we paid a hard earned $14,000 to have our things moved by this company to our severe detriment. The pack end seemed to go well. They damaged one door frame which was incidental. They stored our things for 4 months at the warehouse in Carrollton. We requested delivery and here's where things took a turn for the worse. They promised a 5 day delivery window and missed that window by nearly a week. When they finally arrived our furniture was pretty battered and some items were completely destroyed. Legs were torn off couches, high dollar inventory was damaged, packed boxes had fork truck fork holes, our Murphy bed frame was literally broken in pieces - completely unusable! I submitted a claim. They recently sent a local repair company come to assess the damage for what could be repaired vs replaced. My husband just received a call from customer service refusing to replace items they completely destroyed. We paid for full coverage insurance. At this point we will be getting an attorney involved for resolution. When I submitted my claim I requested a Regional Manager call me. I have yet to receive a phone call. I would NOT recommend anyone doing business with this company. They should be ashamed of themselves. Feel free to PM me for any additional insight. This is the highlights! Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a consultant in my life. Johnny Shanks was the consultant, he was rude, would not listen after less than 5 minutes in my house he was asked to leave. Instead of saying "thank you for your time or some thing like that" He argued with my wife and myself and didn't stop until he was in his car leaving. I would never recommend this company and strongly urge the company to fire this consultant as he needs serious anger management. read more

The worst moving company we have ever had to deal with. The way they packed was horrible, seemed like they just threw things together. Example why was my wall home decor items in with my wardrobe boxes? And a lot of our clothes that should've been in wardrobe boxes were just in regular boxes. My floral arrangements were ruined. 2 of our furniture pieces were broken and they didn't even tell us about it, they tried to fix it on their own. I felt like they were trying to hide it. So disgusted with this company. Will never use or recommend them. read more

Atlantic Relocation did a recent move for us. It was a little complicated, with a lot of stuff going to storage and some stuff going to an uptown condo. The guys did a good job of packing our things. Nothing was damaged. That's the good news. The bad news is that the crew arrived in a huge hurry to get things done. The estimator figured it would take eight hours to get everything packed, loaded, and unloaded. These guys were determined to do it in five, even though we paid for eight (it was a fixed-price move). As a result, they didn't want to listen to us, didn't want to do what we wanted them to, and figured that it was their way or no way. The crew leader was no help - we'd tell him something and he'd promptly forget it. He even staged a mini-strike when we asked him to stack the locker so we could find stuff after the move. It took intervention from a remote manager to get things going again. Unpacking our stuff in the condo was a huge Easter egg hunt. It took weeks to find everything in the boxes where it had been randomly stashed. The storage unit is a terrible jumble. They didn't even bother to stack the boxes so we could read the labels, although we asked them to. It will take months or years to straighten everything out. This crew was unprofessional and uncommunicative. They clearly forgot who was paying them. Stay away - you can do better. read more

STAY AWAY FROM ATLANTIC RELOCATION SYSTEMS-DALLAS (ATLAS)!!!!!! Earlier this year, I had requested a moving estimate from Atlas Van Lines, in particular, Mr. Johnny Shanks with Atlantic Relocation-Dallas. First and foremost, this company, particularly Atlantic Relocation is full of crooks! Every time, I requested a revised estimate, and Mr.Shanks stated the price will be LOWER given the adjustment, he actually gouged the price/rate. When I caught him committing this fraud, Mr.Shanks denied me the moving service! I was shocked and called his supervisor, who was another peon, and also acted like he was getting a few bucks on the side from Mr.Shanks, so told me the same thing. Apparently, they were committing fraud, when caught, they decided to turn their fat asses in the opposite direction. SHAME ON YOU, ATLANTIC RELOCATION--MR.SHANKS & TEAM) Please stay away from these crooks, and instead take your business to their competitor! My representative actually came to the house to estimate cost and did a fantastic job of it. He was also available for any issues or questions, and was always conscious of how my needs were being met. They moved us in January 2017. They quoted 2 trucks and crews and only one truck showed up! We spent 12+ hours moving out of our sold home. We were so tired we were sick. On move in day, it started with crew debating if they were going of move in only half and finish the next day! The driver said all and wouldn't even let the crew go get food. I fed them to keep them working. The truck broke down. The driver left before the move in was finished. The crew said they weren't being paid any more and they wanted to leave. My husband argued that we'd paid for a full move in and they couldn't leave things sitting on the front drive! We couldn't reach our move coordinator! They did the minimum and left. They "lost" our sound bar and took our moving supplies and never paid or returned them! We argued for some reduction, as my husband, daughter and I did what we paid them to do! This was the worst move experience I've EVER had. And no body even called to say "Sorry. We messed up." They still owe us a moving dolly, moving pad and Bose sound bar! BAD experience. No customer service or concern! And, we were very patient for them to make it right. They didn't. read more

I am nearly beyond words at this point. My load has been stranded in Dallas with Atlantic for the past week, while we are living in a new city with an infant and none of our belongings. After calling Atlantic every day for a week to try to get updates, I had to call Atlas's corporate logistics office to find out that our load wouldn't even be picked up until after the delivery window that we had signed for. I was given a verbal assurance by my local contact person that I would hear back regarding a resolution within 24 hours. It is now the weekend, he is not returning calls to his cell phone, and I can't get anybody to answer any phone at Atlas or Atlantic. I have family willing to pick up our load from the warehouse in a privately leased truck this weekend and drive it to us so that we can finally move in to our new home across the country, but at this point it looks like it will be two days until anybody answers a phone or returns one of our many voicemails. I cannot stress what a truly horrific experience this has been, and I will be sure to always recommend that friends and family look elsewhere for relocation services. read more
