I contracted with Square Cow Movers for "labor" to load up a U-Haul It truck at my residence for my daughter-in-law on March 1, 2024. The workers did an excellent job loading up the truck. Unfortunately $450 was taken from my daughter-in-law's purse when she left her room for a few minutes. She discovered the theft within an hour and called the Southlake Police. They visited with us shortly afterwards and a police report was filed. The Square Cow Movers regional manager called us while the policeman was here. Our conversation with the regional manager was a waste of time. And I never received a call back from the owner of the company. In their documents that my daughter-in-law signed as they were leaving, it says they are not responsible for any theft, damages, etc. There are two issues: She didn't know the $450 had been stolen until after they left. And secondly, the initial agreement for services was with me, not her. I had no idea that Square Cow Movers wouldn't be responsible for any theft or damages. I have been very upset about this theft issue. I paid them $480 for their labor. Then I had to reimburse my daughter-in-law for the $450 that was stolen out of her purse. So it cost me $930 for 2 hours of labor. I will never use them again because their 2 workers could not be trusted. read more

The quick review - HIRE THESE GUYS at all costs! The longer review - We hired SCM to pack our entire 3 bedroom home and move us within Dallas. They came recommended and I'd heard of them before, so I was comfortable with our choice. Pack day came and they showed up exactly on time. The crew of 3 was experienced and clearly knew what they were doing. They had our entire home packed in 3 hours. Move day came and we ran into some challenges. There were some floor scratches, wall dents and completely damaged furniture. The Branch Manager John came out himself halfway through the move to save the day and make sure everything was done well. I was really impressed. Let me just say that there was a alot that went wrong with this move. But it's moving. They're putting everything you own inside a box to drive down the road and carry it into a new place - something is bound to go wrong. And when I say this company should be judged not on the perfection of the execution but on how they made it right in the end, I mean it. They were there the next morning (on a Sunday) and had the hardwood floors fixed perfectly. The damaged piece of furniture was completely replaced very quickly by SCM, and the manager himself made TWO trips back to the house to address wall damage and tighten up some screws on a desk. I've moved all over the country, and I've used professional movers for all of the moves. Trust me when I say SOMETHING is likely to not go well. Every single time I'd choose a company I knew wasn't perfect, but that I TRUSTED to make it right in the end. Square Cow Moovers went WAY above and beyond what our contract required of them to leave me a happy customer. I can't say enough about the trust I have in these guys, and despite the hiccups, I will hire them every time I need to move and will insist everyone I know do the same. I just wanna say that this was by far the best experience I had with movers . Moving is already stressful and the gentleman that helped me move last week were amazing . Alejandro and I believe Tim ( I think that's right ) went above and beyond . Everything they did was with care and they also were just so helpful. They assembled my bed and kitchen table . It was me and my partner who are moving and these guys just really made this transition to another apartment feel less complicated . There was a mix up with my phone number and miscommunication about the exact services I needed but the actual team of movers MORE than made up for it. Anthony, Nathaniel, Jojo and Shane did such an amazing job for us. They had a great attitude, were kind and funny and super careful with all of our stuff. We have used Square Cow Movers DFW (Continental Blvd. Southlake) twice since moving to Texas. Both times we had a pleasant, professional, and issue-free experience with them. For our most recent move in July, we had the amazing team consisting of XAVIS, SAXON, and ANTHONY. If they allow you to request certain movers, request this team of guys. They are big strong men who took care of our belongings as if they were moving their own. The team worked hard in the 100 degree heat, never once complaining or slowing down. We had a great experience, they made it fun, and we even had quite the debate over who was the greatest, LeBron or Jordan. (I vote Jordan!!) Also the communication with John Dowdy, the branch manager, was seamless. He was responsive and took care of our every need. When the national mover couldn't accommodate our schedule change, we turned to Square Cow and had a wonderful experience! John, Nee, and the crew were on time, took care wrapping the items that needed it and were friendly and respectful of carpet, doors and walls! After driving from Dallas to San Antonio a few days later, Derrick and Jo-Jo unloaded everything with the same care and respect-- nothing was broken or damaged (so far). John even mailed us two small parts to a bed that had gotten caught in the heavy wrapper. We highly recommend SCM! read more

Massive damage and negligence due to careless packing, moving and storage. See storage photos unwrapped pictures, tv, stacking etc. Denied my claim because they said they did not move us the second time. Damage was done on initial move and photos below are the initial move which was all documented and communicated to them. Had them move my full house and pack, move to storage facility and was planning to have them move us into our new house. Left trash all over my house. They even forgot to pack things as well and we had to go back and move ourselves. Bought movers and packers lunch for two days, provided drinks and this is what I got in return. When I reached out for estimate to move us out of storage, two different contacts did not respond. Followed up several times. It's been over three months and last week I received a call from the office of the SVP of square cow Moovers. Sara B., Assistant to the VP asked to discuss my experience with her and expressed regret and apologies for every aspect. She was surprised no one from the company other than the local manager had contacted me. Bottom line, she wanted to know what they could do for me to change my review. I really enjoyed using this company. They responded to my request on a Friday afternoon for a quote to come out the next morning and move me out of my apartment and storage unit into my new home. They took wonderful care of my furniture and my belongings and where patient with my lack of moving preparations on such short notice. They move things in the house without any difficulty and set up the bed like it was supposed to because it's a adjustable bed. These guys are all very nice and courteous. I appreciate the effort, but I don't know that it's possible to please customers 100% in this industry as moving is one of the most traumatic things people do. We hired them for packing and moving. From 3,900 sq ft to 4,100 sq ft, 2 stories each. Day 1 packing. 4 guys went well, I thought. Day 2 moving. 5 guys this time, 3 from the packing day and 2 new ones. One of the new guys was the team lead. I saw a bunch of guys moving heavy items on their own. Not much teamwork which I found odd and inefficient. I was at the new house while my wife was at the old house as they loaded. We have so much still to move from the old house. The day 2 team lead kept "ma'am"ing my wife and asking what to do with miscellaneous unpacked items. She got tired of answering him so she just said "we will handle it". So now we've piles of stuff still to move. Once they got to the new house, I showed them all which rooms equated to the rooms at the old house. Then they proceeded to offload items, by themselves again, and asking me where to put a lot of it. I kept thinking, "Aren't you supposed to know that?" I saw one of their guys trying to manage one of the truck ramps by himself. It slipped out of his hands and almost crushed his feet, but he jumped back in time. I felt so bad for him, he is a nice kid. I think he smashed his fingers pretty good inside the house later. My wife showed up at the new house and the ma'aming continued from the team lead. They "finished," I paid them, they left. Sea of boxes. Could barely walk into the master closet. Boxes crammed in from front to back. Clothes on hangers folded and thrown into regular boxes instead of hanging up in wardrobe boxes (3 or 4 of those). Unlabeled boxes other than "heavy" misplaced. Most of the boxes were initialed by the packer. Many of the misplaced boxes had no initials. For example, one box was labeled "K Heavy". It was in the kitchen. Is was filled with items from our son's room upstairs. Maybe the "K" meant "Kid"?? There is too much of that for my satisfaction. They packed a bottle of bleach based bathroom cleaner, which they're not supposed to transport, in the bottom of a box with a bunch of my wife's other bathroom items. The container broke and the cleaner got on a lot of the other items in the box. No bueno. As moves go, this one left a lot to be desired. I was expecting to feel more satisfied and less traumatized as the company seems to be a good family owned outfit with customer service first and foremost in their minds. That's what they are selling. Maybe they are trying, but it's so tough to get this right every time for everybody. I've read quite a few reviews on this company. Most are overwhelmingly positive. I think they probably get smaller moves right more often than larger moves. I wish these guys better luck with large moves in the future. read more

So I was recommended Square Cow from a friend and I feel like I need to pay forward the recommendation to somebody. I rarely give 5 stars to something on Yelp because I think the 5 star perfection rating is a little over used today. However; I really can't think of how Square Cow could have done any better. They made the move easy. They picked up the phone every time I called. They had no problem with me changing the start time a week out. They were careful with all of my belongings. Those are things I expect from a moving company. What really put these guys above and beyond, is they were cool, polite and fun to do business with. Also, probably the BEST thing, is that they listened. If I asked them to be careful with a piece or to go through another door because I thought a corner would be too tight, they would comply completely and always acknowledge my concern. Do not use! Moving out of a 2100 sq.ft. in Southlake to Keller, TX took the movers from 8:30 am until after 10 pm...the first day. The movers did not get everything from the house and we had to call the company and have another truck come and finish the move...2 days later (next available day they had a truck.) During the first day of moving they never prepped any of the doorways or floors as shown on their website. This resulted in numerous deep scratches to hardwood floors in both the house we sold as well as our new home. Instead of the movers breaking down large furniture, they just tried to fit the item through the doorways resulting in broken and scratched door frames and walls, as well as scratches and dents on furniture. Movers did not bring tools and had to borrow ours to take apart the beds. Flat screen TVs were broken and furniture was dropped from the truck and put in the garage without telling us of the incident. Luckily for us, our 8 year son observed the movers drop the furniture and reported it to us...yes, the furniture was broken too. I was promised on the night of the move the repairs would be made and paid for right away...they dropped the ball on that too. Today I was sent a claim form to fill out which states the claim will take 60 to 90 days to process the claim. Please do yourselves a favor...find another moving company. read more

If you have a small job they're probably fine. They seriously underestimated the manpower, truck space and time needed for a large move. Management did show up with extra help late in the day in order to complete the job. The crew was pleasant and showed up on time but did not have the experience I expected. Walls and floors were not protected and there was some damage to wood floor. Management was responsive on this issue and they did pay for the floor repair. A piece of furniture was damaged and deemed unrepairable (furniture should have been padded before shrink wrapped to protect finish) and they estimated the value the same as the insurance deductible so paid out nothing for this loss. Double whammy as I paid for insurance AND got nothing for the damaged piece. I would not recommend if you have expensive furniture or a large move. read more

After two separate individuals recommended Square Cow for our move, I had to give them a call. After meeting Andrew and four of his crew, I KNEW this was the company for our move to San Antonio. This group of individuals were so great to work with. Mike, the lead, Ray, Trey and Dylan did a great job getting our items organized in the truck for our temporary housing and the storage unit. Furniture was carefully wrapped. What really impressed me was after two days of intensive work, they were still so courteous, not only us, but each other. It was hot, humid and tough going at times. But filled with laughter. The reason for four star was a miscalculation on how large our load was; this was after i sold off or gave away even more furniture than originally planned.
