For a carry out.. This is one of the best in the landover area to me. It is the best food that glenarden has to offer. We call him "Pops" the little Asian man who owns this spot is very nice and friendly. The Cook is great at what she does, great food. If you're in this area and can't find food stop in here you might catch me there if its lunch time. I would give it a 5 star but, Pops don't have A/C and its a very small place. The Food Is Great!!!

The wings were delicious. I tried the sweet and spicy sesame flavor. It leaned more sweet than spicy, but the flavor was so good. The salad was incredibly fresh. I'm usually not a fan of kale salads, but the blend was amazing, and the salmon was perfectly seasoned. The sliders were also a standout! Cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. The sweet potato fries had the perfect amount of crunch. We visited on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. Food was also served quickly . The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere, and parking is validated, which is a plus. Definitely will be back!

The restaurant is located in the newer developed part of Hyattsville, and parking was super convenient since there was a garage right next door for only $5. They also offer covered outdoor dining, which was a nice touch. Inside, the space was modern and stylish, though a bit on the smaller side. For the tea party, the restaurant gave our group a dedicated section that was heavily decorated by our coordinator, and it was really nicely done, which made the event feel special that they allowed her to do such. Service was a hit and miss. Our waitress unfortunately forgot to put in our drink order to the bartender, so we waited over 30 minutes before finally flagging down another waiter. Thankfully, he was extremely efficient. He quickly got our drinks out, took our food order, and checked in throughout the meal. Once he stepped in, everything moved much faster. The food was excellent. The hummus was a 10/10, the lamb chops were delicious, and even the sautéed spinach was well seasoned and flavorful. The menu is pretty extensive, so there is definitely something for everyone, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Overall, nice area, decent service, great food, and affordable prices. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

I remember this place used to be to be a hibachi carry out of some sort not too long ago. However I've been seeing their fried rice online and it grabbed my attention because of the veggies and the dark color it had. It reminded me of how the fried rice from the Chinese carry out used to be in the 90's early 2000's. For some reason nowadays when you order fried rice , there tends to be nothing inside of it besides onions and bean sprouts. What happened to the peas and carrots!!!!! I entered the store on a Friday night--which had only 1 customer who was waiting on her order. I walked to the register and was greeted with a smile from a polite young lady. I ordered the fried shrimp with shrimp fried rice, which is actually one of their combos. I believe it was $11.99/$12.99 something like that, but you get 6 shrimp or you can get 12. They have a nice amount of t of seating available if you want to dine in, I believe they have a restroom for customers available as well. The store appeared clean as well as the parking lot. The food came out quickly, cashier showed it to me before bagging ,it which was cool. Everything looked great. The shrimp were jumbo, I highly doubt you need 12 pieces unless you have a large appetite. The shrimp were lightly coated, not panko breaded. Cooked to perfection and perfectly golden brown. The rice was tasty-I did add one packet of soy sauce and that was all I needed. The food stayed hot for a very long time, and my shrimp didn't get soggy before I arrived at my destination. I will return and try something different the next time. Give this spot a try, I think they need a little bit of Yelp help....

The individuals who answer the phones and take orders are rude, and the overall quality is lacking. I saw this place on TikTok and noticed that it was located in my old neighborhood, so I decided to give it a try. The employees were kind and walked me through the menu, which led me to order catfish and fried shrimp rice. Y'all, Chinese food in the District Heights/Forestville area hasn't tasted this good since the 90's. My combo meal cost around 15 bucks, and it included a yellow drink. I won't call it lemonade, because it was old-school lemon-flavor Kool-Aid. It was sooo good, and if you put it in the freezer and added Henny, it would make a great evening. I will be back!

We all found traditional diner breakfasts as well as many dishes with a Latin taste and ingredients. I had their big egg sandwich with ham and bacon on a bagel. All eggs were cooked as ordered, bacon crispy but not too well done. Sweet ice tea was great! Everything was fresh, tasty and satisfying! The service was also attentive and friendly. Luckily I'm very familiar with the area and know that the entrance is beside the Exxon, up and winding driveway and sits on top of the hill. There's a small Wyndham hotel next to it, so if you look up and see the Wyndham signage, you're in the right spot! I've never dined at this spot and it's been here for YEARS! I believe it started off as a Howard Johnson's many moons ago, but don't quote me on that..LOL. The restaurant itself is really nothing to look at. It's seems more like a diner than a restaurant but it's surprisingly large, just a little outdated. I sat at the rather small bar since I was there for HH. The bartender was extremely pleasant and attentive. I ordered the wings and bacon wrapped dates that were on the HH menu and I also ordered the calamari which was on the regular menu. I must say, the calamari and bacon wrapped dates tastes as good as any I've ever had! The wings were very good as well. The HH priced margarita was extremely good and $4 off the regular price! I will definitely be back when I want to grab something good and lowkey. Oh yeah, there's a Mexican food vibe which surprised me. I was served complimentary chips and salsa, and the menu had several Mexican cuisine offerings. Because of this, they may want to consider a name change.. Lol!

However, if you plan to dine in the restaurant, be prepared for 80 degree heat and VERY loud music that you have to shout over in the dining area in order to have a conversation. When I asked, they turned it down. A little. Other than those discomforts, I found the restaurant to be incredibly friendly and welcoming, and full of happy customers anxiously waiting to taste their food, as well as bright and happy workers. It's clearly a local favorite, and not just for seafood lovers. The man who took our order was helpful and efficient, and he even noticed that we didn't hear our number called when the order was ready, so he left his post to come deliver it to us. The flounder sandwich is to die for, just as good as the one I had in Myrtle Beach! And the selection of sides is almost overwhelming. It really helps to go look at them before you decide, but everything was fresh and delicious, with huge portions, and they put the liquidy dishes into sealed containers that don't leak. I love the cheesy broccoli, the Mac and cheese (my kids love that the most!), and the cabbage with carrots. My friend said the black eyed peas were absolutely wonderful. I will continue to order delivery and carry out from this location, but for dining in, I will go to Laurel.

It taste like it was homemade which is a good thing! I like when my food taste fresh and natural or like something I would have made myself at home ( I love to cook! ), anyways the onion rings were also very crispy and good. You can choose your side with your meal or just get the sandwich. Overall the menu has a lot of options , so I am looking forward to trying there other seafood meals! Now moving along to the presentation, I really appreciated that I had everything I needed ( sauce utensils napkins in the bag) and my food was ready pretty quickly and the person that assisted me was cool, wasn't a long line I was in and out. I honestly had low expectations when I ordered from here, but after my pick up experience, my food packaging, and eating my meal I can say they blew my expectations out the water lol. Loved it and I want to try their salmon next!
