The class was well organized and the chef, kitchen staff and volunteers were helpful and attentive. A very nice way to spend time meeting new people while having fun with your friends, family or solo. Unfortunately for us, the old adage "too many cooks in the kitchen" applies here. When class started we were told there would be plenty of food, but we definitely left hungry & a tad disappointed in what was served. We made a lot of shrimp, yet each person got 3. Our table was curious where they all went. The melon on the salad was not ripe, making it unpleasant to eat. The main entree, eggplant parm, was completely inedible by everyone. Apparently, the eggplant had been salted before the students arrived and then salted again during class. So no one had any main entree. The finale was a scoop of ice cream. This made us feel as though we got very little value considering the cost for the class as we certainly could have enjoyed a meal at a sit down restaurant for less & left full. Don't get me wrong, there is value in expertise and instruction, but not $200 worth. However, at the end of the day, it was a good time and we would like to try another class in the future.

I owe Brooklyn Deli an apology for not finding them sooner…read more As a New Yorker turned Atlantan, I have spent the last year quietly lowering my expectations for bagels here. I've had some that were OK. Some that were good-ish. Some that were simply round bread with a hole in the middle. I began to accept that it just wasn't a thing here. And then today I ordered the whitefish bagel from Brooklyn Deli. Oh. My. God. The bagel was chewy, fresh, and actually tasted like a BAGEL. The whitefish was incredible. The whole thing tasted like nostalgia. Like somebody briefly picked me up from Atlanta and dropped me back on 24th and 3rd for brunch. Absolutely remarkable. No notes. My bagel-related cynicism has been temporarily suspended, and Brooklyn Deli has earned the extremely prestigious approval of one extremely dramatic former New Yorker.

As a displaced yankee now in Atlanta, I'm usually prepared to have my heart broken when I see "New…read moreYork style" food being billed outside of New York. (I'm looking at you, Jack's New Yorker Deli.) But I was in the Ansley Mall neighborhood for some errands and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It was a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door so that is usually a good sign. I went with the Brooklyn sandwich (Hot pastrami, coleslaw, swiss, spicy mustard, & Russian dressing). You can opt for the smaller portion of meat (the ATL) or the larger portion (New York). It was just the right amount of coleslaw, mustard and Russian dressing so that the bread wasn't sopping wet. And the pastrami is hot and it wasn't overly greasy either. A nice balance with the side order of potato salad. It was a little more sandwich than I needed for lunch but it was pretty faithful to New York style all things considered. $18.50 for the larger New York version of the Brooklyn sandwich including tax. I was tempted by the Dr. Brown's sodas from back home and all of the pastries and deli items for sale as you are making your way up to the front to place your order. Sunday afternoon is not really the time to shop around because of how busy it gets in there so a return trip is definitely in order.

It's a small cozy business and immediately we were welcome by Patty. Very friendly and sweet. Already the place had the tables pre seared with our last names and tables decorated. The business is truly Italian with different wines (with card descriptions and where it's from), olives, pastas, cheeses, ham, etc). Before the activity was going to start Luiggy (sorry for the spelling) came out and talked to each one of us. Very Italian. It felt like your Italian neighbor super friendly and definitely had to be owner. During each different wine, him and Connor (the wine expert) explained each wine in details and answered all our questions. The wines were from Puglia, Tuscany, Venetian and Apulia. Very fine and savory wines. They paired each with a particular appetizer salad, cheese and meats plate, manicotti and meatballs. All four are great sizes and also the wine they serve you. The two hours went by so fast. It was so relaxing, fun and you felt you were in Italy. We brought some wine bottles and they even gave us a discount. This place not only has this but also other cooking specialized classes and trips to Italy. This is an experience that you won't regret and I can't wait to participate in the other activities. Thank you Luiggy, Patty, Connor and Jose (my son that booked this) oh and the price for this is so worth it with everything you get!

Having moved from LA a couple of years ago, I miss a good Korean fried chicken (KFC). Curious to give it a try, I ventured out to their pop up at Red Hare Brewing this summer Friday, where I could dine safely on the patio and pair the food with some craft beer. The KFC wings were delightfully crispy with sweet and spicy soy sauce, and side of crunchy pickled radish that went perfectly. They also had the fun tornado potato which was delicious with perilla ranch, garlic Parmesan and fried shallots to balance the slight heat of the wings. Red Hare Brewing helped pair a cool flight of craft beers including Coconut Coffee Porter (intriguing with bitter roast nutty intensity lightened by slight sweetness and distinct tropical flavor of toasted coconut), Sticky Spice Stout, Hasenpfeffer Oktoberfest lager and Soft J (fruity and refreshing IPA). Finished out my late lunch with fun Yakult pop!!! Looking forward to checking out their future pop-ups around the ATL!!

My Dad was celebrating his 60th birthday and 'The Hungry Peach' just happened to be where we decided to go for lunch. Unfortunately due to COVID The Hungry Peach closed down in August, and recently reopened this past Monday. And boy oh boy am I thankful that they did. First let me say it's slightly challenging to find the restaurant. If you are at the ADAC center you are at the right place. The Hungry Peach is on the 2nd floor and if you follow the directions to the Cafè you'll find the restaurant without any trouble. The service here was unmatched. We were able to speak with the owner Malina and she was absolutely wonderful, a true delight!!! I ordered the Hungry Peach Burger and it was a very good burger the caramelized onions along with the sweet pickles make for a better duo than Batman and Robin. I loved it! My sister ordered the Peach BLT and she said the peach jam made the sandwich amazing. My dad ordered the chicken panini and he loved that as well. Now...not that the lunch wasn't great in and of itself, but this is where The Hungry Peach stole my heart. The Peach Cupcake is without hesitation the BEST cupcake I've ever had in my entire life. My sister said "I will have these cupcakes at my wedding." If you go to The Hungry Peach and don't get a cupcake you are not fully living and are making a big mistake and are a fool, respectfully. Luis, we loved your work! But hey this is all hearsay and was my experience so you go check them out for yourself. And there's no need to thank me, you're welcome!

The cuddle fish was well fried and very crispy, the sauce that came with it tied everything together. Little sweet, little spicy, little hot of twang. Was amazing. Mapo tofu was extremely good, was exactly what I wanted after a long day. Smooth tofu, lots of spicy and tingly goodness, and the rice with it was perfect. Service was good, was really quick for pick up. And the place is super clean and really well spaced out inside. I would dine in here if I could have. I came here after visiting the botanical garden, and I was HUNGRY…read more I ordered Grandma's Noodles ($9), the scallion bubble pancake ($5), cumin lamb ($12), and dry fried eggplant ($11). Everything was DELICIOUS. The scallion bubble pancake came out HOT, like hurt-to-touch HOT. It was crispy and airy. It was served with a side of mild curry sauce. The noodles, lamb, and eggplant came out hot temperature-wise as well, but they were also hot spice-wise, especially the cumin lamb. The spice levels cleared my sinuses, LOL. But though I struggled with the spice, I kept on eating because all of the dishes were delicious and flavorful. The tender lamb was served on little skewers. The dry fried eggplant was super crispy; the pieces were shaped like spicy fries. I liked Grandma's noodles even more. The noodles had that bouncy, chewy, hand-pulled feel and were covered in vinegar & hot chili oil. I appreciated the portions. Despite being an appetizer, Grandma's Noodles came out on a large plate, and for being small plates, the eggplant and lamb were pretty filling. The service was also friendly and attentive. My food came out quick, and the staff constantly kept my glass of water filled. My only annoyance was the $1 charge for the bowl of white rice, but the food and service more than made up for that small, inexpensive annoyance.
