This individual was transporting an 85+ year old person with dementia who uses an walker to get around to a medical appointment when the tire went flat and they rolled into the facilities lot. I have never been more disappointed in the human services profession than I was today. Not one person who approached the car asked if they could help, or if the elderly individual in the car was in any distress due to the heat. They wanted the car to moved so it would not interfere with the line up for the end of their day. When the driver suggested they move the car slowly to another spot in the parking lot they were told no. The tow truck arrived within 20 minutes of the call and no interruption of their services occurred. I arrived a quickly as I could from 20 miles away to load the elderly individual into my car to get her out of the heat. The treatment received by the staff was deplorable. You would think that facility staff who worked with folks needing ABA therapy would know how to be flexible to interruption and changes in routine. More importantly, how to treat people with the same kind of kindness they would like to be treated.

We were only at Kids Innovative Developmental Services for a little over a year, but I have nothing…read morebut great things to say about the people who work here and the services we received. My kid worked with Christine, the speech-language pathologist, on a stutter that developed when he was in late elementary school. By the time he was in middle school, it was something he wanted to seek help with, so we reached out to Kids Innovative. I was a little concerned that they might not take my kid because he was so much older than the kids in the pictures on their website! And yes, it's true that Kids Innovative seems to skew toward younger kids -- we saw a lot of preschool- and elementary-aged kids during our visits. My kid was usually the oldest in the waiting room. But I think it's because speech and occupational impairments tend to present themselves at a younger age. Nevertheless, they DO take older kids, and bonus: they DO take many kinds of insurance! Very few speech therapy places take insurance, so it was a huge relief to find this place. A year of working with Christine helped my kid tremendously. She was patient, kind and always available to answer questions, and very flexible with her schedule. She would give us "homework" to work on or ideas to think about, which I appreciated. Eventually, my kid aged out of Kids Innovative, and Christine gave us a recommendation for a more specialized therapist who works with older kids. So we've transitioned to a new therapist, but I'll always be thankful for the help we got at Kids Innovative.

I am giving a 3 for the facility. There a amazing nurses here, but there was a couple we had to…read morefile a compliant. My MIL was in this rehab facility for two weeks following a hospital stay. She was a fall risk, so she required help each time she went to the bathroom. While she was there, she developed another UTI. Once day when we went to visit, we walk into the room when a nurse jumped on us when we walked in, telling us that my MIL called every 5 minutes to go. We mentioned she took water pills, and that could be why. Come to find out, she withheld water from my MIL and made her wait an hour to go to the bathroom so they had enough for a sample. The thing is, the doctor didn't tell them to do this. We filed a complaint against the nurse, which we have never done. We know it's not an easy job, and we always tell our nurses how much we appreciate them, and all they do. Never have we had an issue till this one. Anyway, we filed the complaint, and the nurse wasn't allowed back to care for my MIL. We had one amazing nurse but her name escapes me now. She went above and beyond and was truly amazing. My advice is you have a loved one here, make sure you keep up with the care. Make sure they are getting bathed, and not mistreated. We also had an issue where she hadn't been bathed in several days, so we brought it up. The amazing nurse was appalled and bathed her herself. Again, my review is based on her care. They are lucky to have her.

ZERO STARS - THIS PLACE IS A DEATH CAMP. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE…read more If I could give Community North Rehabilitation Center zero stars--or better yet, negative stars--I absolutely would. This facility nearly killed my mother, and I want to make sure no one else goes through the nightmare we did. My mom arrived at Community North Rehab after suffering a stroke. She had some mild speech impairment and early-stage dementia, but she was mentally sharp, alert, and active. She also had a stent between her kidney and bladder. Despite her condition, she was prematurely discharged from the hospital, under the all-too-common excuse of "testing will be done outpatient"--which really just means "get them out, we're done here," even if they're still on the brink of a medical crisis. From the moment she entered this facility, she declined rapidly. She stopped eating, became lethargic, and couldn't even complete her therapy sessions. Staff blamed "severe dementia," which was a lie. Before coming here, she was engaged, talkative, and functioning far above the level they claimed. The reason she couldn't participate in therapy? She was constantly needing to use the bathroom--a huge red flag they brushed off as nothing. I raised hell. I demanded answers. I asked to speak to the doctor overseeing her care, who coldly told me there was no reason to send her back to the ER. I asked him, "So, blood in the urine and needing to use the bathroom ten times in a half hour is normal?" And he said yes--as if that was something any human being should accept. They insisted she was "fine" and that this was normal for someone with a stent and told us to take her home for outpatient testing. So I did. Within one day of being home, she was practically unresponsive. She had explosive diarrhea, slept the entire day, and was only awake for about 45 minutes. I told my husband, "We have to get her to the ER--now." We took her to a different hospital, and within hours, they diagnosed her with C. diff--a dangerous, highly contagious infection that she most likely contracted either at Community North Hospital or at the Rehab Center. And what did the rehab staff do when she complained about needing to constantly use the bathroom? Nothing. They ignored her. I was there--I heard her begging to be excused from physical therapy because she had to go to the bathroom. And the staff still insisted she finish her tasks. Meanwhile, I kept repeating, "She is not doing well!" and was met with blank stares. I have to call out Robin, her case manager, by name. She was apathetic, stubborn, and completely dismissive of my concerns. Every time I raised a red flag, she gaslit me--saying there was "nothing they could do." I cried. I sobbed. I begged for help. Robin remained completely unmoved. Cold. Detached. As if my mother's suffering meant nothing. Now, my mother is fighting for her life in another hospital. And I can't help but believe that if Community North Rehab had listened--had actually cared--she might not be in this position. This place is a death camp. And the most twisted part? When I first arrived, I saw their signs and banners proudly announcing they were voted "Best Rehabilitation Center." I was fooled. Duped. Don't let the polished signage and smiling faces fool you--they are not what they appear. Please, for the love of your family--do not bring your loved one here.

He splits time here, another office and surgery, so it may be difficult to get a hold of his staff at times. I have also had to wait a long time after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. One time I waited 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. They were very apologetic about the situation though. They also have their own physical therapy attached with them, but you are not obligated to go. I am a South sider, so I went to a physical therapy studio near me. The place has a decent waiting room and friendly staff. They also have a huge parking lot that it shares with the other business in the building that it shares. They treated me very well here and got me on the right path. I wish I would have came here first for my broken elbow, but oh well. If you find yourself in need of this place's services, you are in good hands and I highly recommend checking them out.

I was referred here after breaking my arm and apprehensive after seeing the less than three star…read morereview. They are located in a new medical building across from St Vincent's in Carmel. I had a 7 am appointment and they were in the office when I arrived at 6:30 am. I was a little discouraged by the 4 pages of paperwork that I needed to fill out with my broken arm before being seen. I was called back a little after 7. The nurse, Kat, was friendly as she took my history and gently removed my cast. Dr Peers came in soon there after and looked at the arm and took me for xrays in an adjacent room. He actually took the xrays and described what he saw. He spoke in terms that I understood and answered questions. His care and consultation were excellent and he took me to another room to start physical therapy. The physical therapist, Jenny, prepared a brief set of exercises and we practiced. She set up follow up visits. I liked that the office is self contained with everything right there. The entire visit took under an hour and I felt that I was well cared for. I highly recommend. I also recommend early morning time to avoid the wait.

When our child aged out of a First Steps Talking Time agreed to allow for us to pay for ongoing outpatient care for our child at school and home. This care continued for two years and in that time we experienced high turn over with the Speech Theripists assigned to our child. Our child's outpatient Speech Therpy sessions became unpredictable and on several occasions our Speech Therapist didn't show up. Then to our disappointment with no notice we were told that Talking Time could no longer provide services to our special needs child. Failure to provide our family adequate notice left us scrambling to find alternative speech therapy for our child. Our family has paid this school thousands of dollars. Disappointing ending to a long and expensive relationship that was very important to our family and our child.

Long version: Bill Hartman is an anatomy savant. I used to travel 2 hours in order to see him. You see, I suffer from hypermobility syndrome, which results in lax joints, tight muscles, and a life of chronic pain. To add insult to injury I'm both active and clumsy so I have far more than my fair share of sports injuries. Depending on how you look at it, I'm either a veteran or connoisseur of the health care industry. I have traveled for care internationally and have seen more pain specialists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, nutritionists, MDs, DOs, OTs, and PTs than I can count. Don't let the location and unassuming facility fool you. The care you receive at IFAST is world class and the service is personal. The entire staff is dedicated to helping people get healthy and fit, and Kirsten who works the front desk is amazing. (Once I was an hour late because I forgot about the time difference and they were still kind enough to see me.) In the past, I received physical therapy for an old swimming injury. The results were dismal. I would be given a key ring of static stretches and a PTA would watch me do some rows incorrectly. Sometimes I'd be given ice. It never got better, sometimes it got worse and led to debilitating headaches. Bill did active release on my rotator cuff and I got more relief in 30 seconds than I had in 8 weeks of physical therapy in the past. Honestly, that's just the start. During one of my first sessions Bill caught that I have partial deafness in one ear just from watching the way I talk, and treated the resulting imbalances in my neck in shoulders. In another session he suspected that I might have an issue with my vision based on some of my history and the fact that I despise driving. I protested saying I have 20/10 hawk vision, and that my eyes were the only thing that didn't have anything wrong. At his suggestion I saw an optometrist. Unsurprisingly, Bill was right again. Now that my eyes are working better, I have less upper back pain. Cool huh? It's all connected. I'm a licensed massage therapist myself/unapologetic nerd and Bill is hands down one of the most knowledgeable providers you could ever find. He is not only an incredible physical therapist, he has a depth and breadth of expertise that is honestly hard to comprehend. Not only is he abreast of the latest advancements in biopyschosocial models of emotional regulation, he also reads up on developmental optometry, and hangs out in cadaver labs on his days off. Through some careful manipulations he helped me regain activation in one muscle, which finally allowed another muscle that has plagued me for a decade to relax. To top it all off, I've been struggling with some health issues that are beyond the scope of physical therapy. After my last session Bill pulled me aside to tell me that he had done what he could do and he wasn't sure how much more he could help me until I finish my other treatments. He left the decision up to me. That's a level of principle you won't find too often. I'll be back for sure. Bill is a superb therapist. He has it all. Hands. Head. Heart.

In the process, I started hearing about pelvic floor therapy and did some research and was connected to Bill through going to the gym. Bill is a genius. Honestly, I had underestimated all of my anatomical misalignments because of my giant babies and how they affect everything from posture to bladder control. I didn't know how much range of motion I lost until I started gaining it back in my program. This was honestly the best investment in myself. I've gained confidence, strength, ROM, bladder control, and so much more. I'm a better version of myself which means I'm a better mom for my kids. Thank you, IFAST.
