Excellent care! Staff is respectful and caring. The therapists are amazing! The experience exceeded our expectations.

A nightmare that I want to forget, In 2018 I broke my neck, had extensive surgery to put me back together again. I stayed in St. Vincent hospital as long as I could under the supervision of Goodman-Campbell. When insurance said that I needed to be released from the hospital the ambulance drove me to this rehabilitation facility. They punished me by insisting that I sit up without assistance for five minutes. I screamed in pain and slunk out of my wheelchair and was laying partially on the floor before a nurse came back into the room. She chastised me for yelling. I said that I needed my wife, and wanted to call my attorney. She denied my request. That night I had to sleep in a hospital bed that I soaked with urine.....I had a spinal cord injury after all. After trying to sleep in my own urine overnight a morning nurse came in. He was so compassionate compared to what I experienced heretofore at Hamilton Trace. He cleaned me up and changed my sheets. Two hours later my wife was allowed to visit. The chief nurse said that I had to return to the hospital after existing one and one half days in hell with this outfit. Yes, I waited in pain until another ambulance came to return me to from where I came. Terrible experience. I can't even think about the pain these people let me suffer saying that I needed to sit up for five minutes and then they chided me for screaming in pain, Bad show all around. I pray to God that this memory will not haunt me, causing nightmares. read more

The rehab part of rehap was very good. But we didn't feel like the doctor, nurses and staff took our concerns about my mother seriously. The doctor specifically and the nurses in general, while nice, did not listen. Nor did her case manager. The food was not great and much too often not in compliance with her special diet. ​​ read more

Extremely dissatisfied with the social work office and management at Hamilton Trace. My mother was treated fairly well by the nurses but the management and their systems are unbearable. HP PA reasons prevent me from going into a lot of detail about our experience and my parents' health, but needless to say we had a very bad experience. We were very hands on and engaged and involved. We visited every day for weeks. When they said they were ready to discharge my mother we appealed. They wrote their notes so that it sounded like she was fine and we lost the appeal. She was not fine and could barely do anything on her own and was sent home and was in worse shape. Be careful with this place. If you do not follow every single recommendation they make to the letter they will call adult protective services. There are far better places in Indianapolis based on what I am learning now. I would avoid Hamilton Trace if you value your loved ones overall care and health. And I should add that the rooms are not cleaned very often, the trash cans are usually overflowing in the patient rooms and the building needs better upkeep. The place just does not feel very good. read more

My precious father had been a resident of Hamilton-Trace in Fishers for about two years. Every single person that had a part in my father's care was exceptional. He was so proud to be able to offer an orange crush and a snack after someone came in to help him with whatever he needed or to just check on him. He passed away on Jan. 20th. My heart aches and I miss him so very much. I am so thankful that he had been blessed with such loving care. I love each and everyone of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hamilton Trace is full of qualified, caring staff and friendly people. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic, people have maintained an optimism and support for each other that is admirable. Every place has it's faults, but this is a strong team that truly works hard every moment to make sure residents are well cared for, families are included and staff know that they are appreciated. read more

Extremely disorganized, dirty. My moms medicines were continually delivered late, one time an hour and a half late. Pain meds after having a knee replacement. Unacceptable! Also when delivering her meds the person bringing the meds to my mom could not tell you, they didn't know, what they were giving her. Staff sticks to a definite hierarchy, certain ones would answer moms calls but come in and say "oh no I don't help you to the bathroom". No team work here. General areas were clean, but they don't clean the rooms. They do not change the trash much at all. Now there were two staff members who were fantastic, LaTonya and Miah. Those two are the only reasons I'm giving a two star review verses a one star. read more

One of the worst places you could have your loved one at. In my opinion, about 10 percent of the staff are competent and that just happens to be the physical, occupational, and speech therapists. That is the only good thing about this place. I have no confidence in anyone else whatsoever. Call lights take almost an hour or more before they're addressed, several of my moms items were lost and never found, meds are not given in a timely manner, my mom went all night w/ out pain med because no one followed up to make sure her refill was taken care of. Some of the nurses don't even know the meds they're giving. The food is below average. This place is very disorganized. The only time you get anything done is if you complain to a supervisor. I will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

I am just finishing up an almost 30 day stay in the rehab wing at Hamilton Trace. I was quite leery going to a rehab facility after having surgery for a broken leg. My mind was changed with 48 hours of being admitted to Hamilton Trace. The front office staff is wonderful. I was greeted with a smile and have been everyday by the staff from the executive director to the maintenance staff and housekeeping. Within 72 hours every one knew my name ( and it was NOT because I pushed my call button all the time ) The staff literally bend over backwards to be sure my every need is met. And many times I found a need anticipated by the staff (nursing, OT, PT, housekeeping, ...) The rooms are clean, well furnished and easily I am able to move around even in my wheelchair. My call light (on the seldom time I pushed it) was answered in a very reasonable amount of time. The RNS AND CNAs are professional, kind, compassionate and caring. The PTs and OTs are also kind, compassionate, professional and they are strong encourages!!! They pushed me to work hard in a kind manner. And the RNS followed the therapists tools to push me to work hard to be able to go home sooner than later. The entire staff at Hamilton Trace also encourage us, the residents, to not just hang out in our room. There are many activities available daily. I will be having two more surgeries over the next year or so and I can tell you, hands down, that if inpatient therapy is ordered,by my physician, I will choose to return to Hamilton Trace. read more

I don't recommend placing your loved one in this facility. I read reviews and toured facilities. What they tell you during the tour about call lights and staff are not true. On the weekends they often don't have the minimum staff. I wish I had chosen differently. They have new staff all the time; there is no communication with the family, even when you call and ask to speak to people. You can not speak to the doctors. The nurses are very nice but they are overworked and understaffed. You have to be here and stay on top of people all the time to get things done. The food is iffy if you are on a special diet. I gave it two stars because the rehab staff are nice; otherwise it would've been just one. read more

We are all aware of the current pandemic and concerns of contracting the virus and spreading it, however; most of the patients within the facilities are at the mercy of the employees. Many require a great deal of care and that's why they are there. If they could do for themselves then they most likely would not be there. If the ratio of employees does not meet the requirements then perhaps the facilities should not be taking in so many. Each elder not only has rights but also deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect. Sadly there have been countless cases where employees have been rude and unkind and uncaring. There have been many cases of employees removing their masks once they enter a patient's room and some have even sat down in patient rooms to watch tv, without being invited to do so. Dietary needs are not always being met and therefore the patient goes hungry or depends on an outside source for nutrition. & Why provide a menu when they don't get what they ask for? Does the facility need to hire more kitchen help? Seems they do, especially when passing or retrieving meal trays comes before the care needed. Some patients require help to go to the bathroom or to wash or other daily activities but those aren't even being done properly. Keeping someone from going to the bathroom when they need to go is mistreatment and harmful to their bodies. Each elder in the facility should be greeted with kindness each and every time an employee enters the room and the patient's needs, whether by call-light or spoken request should be met in a timely manner. Many patients are people with great physical disabilities, chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and respiratory illness. They have it hard enough without the lack of care and concern. At the end of the day, the employees get to go home but the patients do not. They can not visit with their loved ones during the pandemic, but that doesn't mean that families are clueless of how they are doing and how they are being treated. Answer the call lights, don't just shut them off and walk away. Stop with the empty promises. Oversight is needed to assure it doesn't become an abuse or neglect violation situation. Posting on social media about fun activities that not every patient is a part of is false portrayal. The true heroes in healthcare are the ones that leave their problems at the door and treat patients like one of their own family members, at all times. This facility could be a highly rated place if their number one concern is to become patient care and compassion. This is one place our family members will not return to, even for short term care. read more

This place is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Nice facilities but the staff is untrained and too few to do a good job. Even with multiple meetings and siblings trying to assist in managing my father's health needs the staff leaves you feeling they understand his medical needs yet can't even put on compression stockings in the morning or bring medications on time. I was there recently and it took 45 minutes for someone to answer a call, another 20 to get his meds. Time to find a better run facility. read more

We appreciated the warm, caring staff at Hamilton Trace during the three months my husband was a resident in the rehab unit. The nursing staff was responsive to our needs and worked with us to find solutions when new health care problems arose. We enjoyed the efficient, caring aides. The cleaning staff accommodated the therapy schedules and kept my husband's room sparkling. He received speech, occupational, and physical therapy from three great teams of therapists. For the most part, he had the same therapist at each session, which facilitated good continuity of care. He made good progress in all areas, thanks to their expertise and encouragement. We thought the food was delicious and enjoyed the dining room atmosphere. The dietary staff worked with us meet my husband's unique food needs. Hamilton Trace recently obtained a new administrator. This man seemed to learn everyone's name and situation quickly and visited the floors often, encouraging us to share any concerns. Once, when we pointed out the need for a light bulb change in the bathroom, he immediately changed it himself. We appreciated the care my husband received at Hamilton Trace and thank the staff for all they did for us. read more

When my mother was first admitted to Hamilton Trace the staff seemed friendly but i was very lost. Staff is not informative to patients or their family members in any way. You have to call multiple times to get a hold of a nurse or front desk person and there is a lack of security. Anyone is able to walk into the facility at anytime of the day which i feel is dangerous. There are papers to be filled out to show what the resident brings but they still managed to lose many of our belongings. staff is very young and untrained, they send you around the facility to multiple people instead of directly informing you or guiding you themselves which can be confusing. The facility is clean as can be and is very beautiful, everything was in well condition but if you're worried about the care of your loved one and how things are being handled as far as communication and health needs etc, I would not recommend this facility, my family struggled very hard the whole 2 months being in their care. read more
