Last Tuesday, I decided to visit the Athleta store to check out the latest yoga collection. The atmosphere was welcoming and the friendly staff were happy to help me. They gave me valuable advice and patiently helped me try on different leggings, which made for an enjoyable shopping experience. However, that positive mood completely changed when I saw how Frida one of the so-called managers treated her employees. I was really disappointed to see her unprofessional attitude towards the team. She raised her voice and seemed to have no basic respect for her employees. She treated them more like enemies than valued colleagues. What shocked me most was the manager's blatant disregard for the well-being of her team. She seemed more interested in micromanaging every move than fostering a supportive environment. I watched her wonder why they were helping me in the fitting room instead of handling the sales floor. This not only negatively affected their leadership, but also created a tense atmosphere among both employees and customers. I overheard the manager go back to discussing her personal life with another employee. She spoke loudly about her unsatisfactory love life and sexual experiences, which I found unprofessional and inappropriate. Even though I wasn't intentionally eavesdropping, her openness about these topics made me uncomfortable, especially with other customers present. Overall, what should have been an enjoyable shopping experience was ruined by the manager's attitude and professionalism. It's disappointing to see such behavior at a company that prides itself on empowerment and inclusivity. I left the store disappointed, but hopeful that Athleta would address these issues and create a more positive environment for employees and customers in the future. read more
