I have been shopping at the Leawood ATHLETA for years ---- it is a store I can always depend on for clothing that makes me feel good and that will last. One of the best things about this location is Chelsey, the Manager. She always greets me by name as soon as I enter the store ---and always has suggestions and ideas for me. She works her tail off at being proficient and in making her customers feel welcome. She has an exemplary staff who have been there -- some of them for years - and who are a delight to work with. Been shopping there for years. Always a good experience. Today the person helping me, Emily was amazing. She helped with an online return/ in store purchase exchange. They didn't have the size and color of pants I was wanting to exchange. However she introduced me to a new pair of pants. Can't wait to wear them. She was extremely helpful to me and also to her employees. I will look for her when I'm back at the store. read more

I love this store and the products for women. Upon entering the store I'm always greeted by friendly, welcoming workers. The store is organized and clothing is neatly displayed. The website is easy to shop and order from as well, as it's helpful to know I can return or exchange an item if needed. As a Black woman, I tend to avoid shopping at Town Center Plaza because of the racist attitudes I have encountered over the years. I made the mistake of giving Athleta at Town Center a chance, and I will not be returning to this location. I was not offered a dressing room despite carrying multiple items around the store and watching workers offer to help other shoppers. When I walked back to the dressing rooms, I had to make an effort to get the attendant's attention while she pointedly ignored me. It was difficult to get anyone's attention while I tried on clothes. Again, against my better judgement, I decided to purchase some items. The lady at the register would not make eye contact with me. She was unkind, and she did not even fold my items. Instead, she just shoved them into a bag and called over one of her coworkers to finish the transaction. I will not be returning to Town Center, and I will continue to caution any person of color about shopping there. read more

I love me some Athleta...but you'll find me at the plaza location over this one. Felt like the associates were a bit pushy on sales, which I'd not experienced before at an athleta store. They were sold out of nearly every thing I wanted to buy in a size L or XL. I had a return and they handled that well and it went very smoothly//was easy, which I appreciated. read more

Athleta is your go to for "Athleisure", and their prices aren't as bad as it seems. Quality is on point. Selection/variety is great. Here's what I love: - Swimsuits - during season, they have an excellent selection, phenomenal quality, and styles that fit all body types - like breastfeeding Mamas or not - everything. - Leggings - their leggings are THE best. They are soft, but flattering, and have pockets. POCKETS. - Shorts/pants - although a lot of the store is mostly on the athletic-leisure side, they have really perfect styles of shorts and pants that I really love and can be dressed up a notch beyond "Athleisure". - Service - they are known for good service because they treat their employees really well. Not the average retail vibe - more of a passionate, friendly, upbeat vibe. Nice job, Athleta team! read more

I'll stick to the plaza location. The women that work here are not friendly, at all. No one greeted me or talked to me or checked in on me the entire time. & The lady who checked me out barely looked at me or spoke to me. Women that are most likely the age of my mom or older who were so stuck up. Pretty sad. I shouldn't have bought anything at all. read more

I really like Athleta and was thrilled to see its first Kansas location in Town Center. I already had shopped at the Plaza location (Missouri side) on Saturday, and did not expect to see the Athleta logo in the same center as many other favorite stores like anthropologie. I live two hours from Leawood but all of my favorite stores are in Town Center - I often lamented that I had to go to the Plaza just to check out Athleta, but now here it is! This weekend the sale was an additional 20% off. I got a fabulous swim dress that I ended up wearing in the hot tub at our hotel for my birthday weekend. I can wear it as a dress on a vacation, roll around in the sand, and dip in the water as the dress is made with swimsuit material. This is the perfect addition to this area! read more

A "4 star" for the apparel, a "1 star" for this particular store. Yes, it's Town Center and in Johnson Co so I should know what I was getting into but... I'm not a size XS but I do fit everything they sell in their store. I wandered around curious if anyone would say hello or ask if I needed assistance. They were asking others but never me. I grabbed a few things to try on and met the dressing room um.. control freak. You would think that she had a line out the door. It's set up like a boutique; your name is put on the board outside the room, they ask (most) if they need help or other sizes, etc. She ran around like a crazy person for about 5 dressing rooms. But again, I know where I was. I was never asked anything and after trying on what I wanted to, hustled out. I wish I could remember the motivational saying at the line for the dressing rooms. I just wanted to tell all the staff to read it before starting their day. I give a low "2 star" review because I really do like the Athleta brand, but the service was just dreadful. Great everyday, wearable clothing for active lifestyle. The best part was finding an unexpected little black dress for travel. They call the fitting rooms a fit studio, which confused me initially, but the service from the salespeople was fantastic. Not pushy or pressuring but genuine and friendly. The store offers free hemming on pants which is a valuable service. I was really impressed with the selection of merchandise. More importantly the sales staff was working hard to greet, and help the customers seek out pieces that they may have overlooked. read more

I went to Athleta today specifically for skorts to wear on a vacation to see DC. Honestly, I didn't expect to feel welcome- but I was so surprised. I don't look the part of an Athleta customer, but the sales people treated me like they valued my presence in their store. I was greeted, and appropriately asked if I had questions from time to time. I tried on the clothes and had the opportunity to ask about the performance of the fabric. My question was answered in a knowledgable and respectful manner. I felt very comfortable in the store and when I checked out, the sales woman made me feel like she was genuinely happy I came in. The whole experience was very positive and I would be glad to shop there again. Plus, I really like the quality of their clothing. I feel like I "got what I paid for". Nice. read more

This specific athleta is hands down the best out of the two I've been to. Everyone is so helpful and really know what kind of gear will work best with every activity. I'm getting more into yoga and had no idea where I should start with pants or a top for that matter, and the lady (can't remember her name for the life of me) was so helpful and knew exactly what I should get! When I tried on everything, she was very honest and told me if she didn't think it looked good (which I totally appreciate because I wouldn't want to get something if it didn't look good!) and she was able to pick the perfect size for me. This is going to be my go-to store for yoga wear from now on!
