I wanted to take a moment to thank the team at Athens Ford for a delightful experience. I presented Carly Shockley and Shawn Hetrick with a deal that I knew going in would be extremely difficult to make happen, if not impossible. Not only were they able to reach a deal that worked for me and got me into a "dream car" that I've wanted for some time (Jeep), but they did it all with a very high level of service and class that is rare in the industry today. At no time did I ever feel uncomfortable or pressured during the buying process. In fact, it was a very warm, pleasant transaction from the moment I stepped in the door. Carly and Shawn could not have been any more personable and easy to work with and I sincerely appreciate that. In addition, almost the entire sales team took time from the floor to assist in figuring out how to get the top on my new Jeep down (never owned one before, so this was a learning experience). It was a bit humorous and Carly gets extra kudos for getting her fingers slammed in the door accidentally by a fellow salesman and taking it like a champ. Fortunately, Brandon Scruggs from their parts department came to the rescue having been a Jeep owner himself and gave some useful pointers and advice and even an invite to a local, monthly Jeep get-together. By the end of the day, I was able to navigate the top on my own, no problem, thanks to his input. I've lived in Athens for 33 years. I've dealt with people at this dealership when it was University Ford and then again when it was Akins Ford. I can attest that under its new management, this dealership is WORLDS BETTER than either of those previous incarnations. If you ever visited this dealership during one of its other management tenures, do yourself a favor and give this new group a chance. I promise you will be impressed with the new Athens Ford. Will not be purchasing from this dealership. We are shopping for a new SUV and were working with Kevin in internet sales. I found one i liked and we already had financing thru our credit union. I had previously emailed Kevin laying out the terms of our financing. He came back with $2000 over what I told him we could do. When I told him I was sorry we didn't have an additional $2000 to put down to cover the difference he told me "Well then, I'm just going to sell it to a dealer". AND THEN HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!! Horrible customer service. I'll be telling everyone I know not to go here. He had a sale in the bag and financing covered and he wanted to lose it and be rude over $2k. read more

He took my number, why didn't he call me and let me know. My husband took his lunch break to come look, what a waste of time. So far I am not happy with the service provided by Athens Ford. Not this time but the last time I needed an oil change I called and made an appointment for the next day. When I arrived the next day I was informed that I had no appointment. I told them that I had called the day before and made the appointment. The man I spoke to asked to see my appointment confirmation email. I never received an email. I didn't even know that I was supposed to receive one, he replied, "well we can squeeze you in but it will be a few hours." I was put off by the fact that I was treated like I showed up without an appointment. It seemed to me that I should have at least received an apology for someone screwing up on my appointment, I would NOT have driven all the way there without an appointment. Instead I was treated like I was lying about having called. Even after I was treated like a liar i went ahead and made another appointment and let it go. Well, this time.....after changing my oil I went and got in the car. My sticker said that I needed my next oil change at 50,108 miles. My explorer has 17,000 miles......hmmmmm.....Does an explorer run for 33,000 miles without an oil change? So, I asked for another sticker, they got me one, again no biggie. So, then I'm driving home and as I'm driving I notice that my hood is moving. THEY DID NOT SHUT MY HOOD!!!! Isn't that like mechanic 101? I had my baby in the car and if that hood had flown up because I didn't notice it wasn't closed it would've caused an accident!!! Needless to say I'm very dissatisfied with the service that I've received thus far! read more

Do NOT give these people your phone number, no matter what they say. They will sell it far and wide to vehicle warranty sales companies, and in turn it gets sold to other, more nefarious businesses. After test driving a car there the salesman seemed a little put out that I didn't buy, so I assumed that, when I started getting a huge, sudden push of sales calls just a couple days later, he had taken his little car salesman's revenge. Now its three years later and I'm still getting the same calls no matter how many numbers I block, every single day, starting at 8am. If its not "buy this vehicle warranty," then its, "Congratulations! We've decided to raise your credit limit! Now, just give us your account info so we can get started," or its another robocall. I will still use the service center here for simple convenience, but i will NEVER BUY ANOTHER CAR HERE. Ever. And trust me, I have tried everything to reduce the volume of sales calls. Nothing seems to help. Just say no to Athens Ford when they ask for your number. read more

After deciding to upgrade my subaru forrester for better gas mileage and safety I went looking at various small hatchbacks from the Honda Fit and Hyundai Accent to the the Ford Focus. Upon arrival at the dealership we were quickly greeted by a salesperson, Jamison, who happily answered all of our questions, ran to get the keys, and had us looking inside the car, under the hood, and at all of the features on the focus. He was incredibly informative and helpful during the test drive being sure to point out all sorts of features and having us take note of some of the great things that make the ford focus stand out. It was incredibly helpful and great experience. We returned a few days later to seriously consider and sit down to talk about purchasing the car. As a graduate student and first time car buyer I was nervous about the process but quickly put at ease with all the friendly and helpful staff. We met with Jamison again who was more then happy to let us look at the car again and take it for a second test drive in the day time. They were all patient, helpful, friendly, and incredibly easy and great to work. They gave me a great trade in price for my old car and worked with me to get my monthly payment for the new one right where I needed it, incredibly pleased! read more

Quick Lane Service Manager Jeff Owens was very personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating during my recent service and repair visit at Athens Ford. He treated me with respect and explained exactly what my vehicle needed (and didn't need), suggested different options available to me, and let me know when he needed to know my decision to authorize repairs so that special order parts could be ordered in time before the holidays. He called me several times to let me know the status of my vehicle's repairs, followed my special instructions perfectly, and the vehicle was done before the promised time. I appreciate Jeff's honest and attentive customer service, and will return to Athens Ford for all of my Ford service and repair needs. Here is my worst experience ever buying a new truck. They make promises that they don't intend to make good on. First I stopped in looking for a used truck and there was nothing on the lot that I was interested in. I started dealing with Jessica Marston. A week or so later she called me and we talked about trucks and I told her that I was now thinking about a new one. I also told her just what I wanted in the truck. A day or two later she called me and said that one of the sister stores had one but the only thing was it had the 40-20-42 seats and I wanted the console. She sent me the quote with my trade and everything along with the window sticker. I asked about the financing and payments. That was the last I heard from her. Then I contacted Brian Coler the sales manager. He had Mark Miles contact me. He checked on the truck the Jessica had found and it was still available. I told him that I would be down the next day to do the paper work for the truck if the price was still the same. I believe it was Saturday 14th. Mark told me that he would not be there but Jamison Johnson or Shannon Strickland would be able to help me. When I arrived it seemed that no one had done anything about securing the truck because it was not available any more. Shannon tried to find another one but no one at the dealership that had one was answering the phone. I left with the understanding that I would get a call as soon as they found a truck that fit most of what I wanted. About 15 to 20 minutes after I left I received a call that they had found another truck. So I turned around a drove back to see what they had. Jamison was very helpful in explaining that the truck was a bit of a trip away as well as Shannon. Shannon even offered to put some gas in the car because of all the miles I had to drive. It's an hour and a half drive from my place to your dealership. During the deal and the signing of the papers Shannon told me that the truck would be delivered in 72 hours and that the truck would be delivered to my house clean and full of gas. I received a call from Shannon that the truck was there and would be delivered Thursday around 11:30. That would be over 96 hours. At a little after 11:00 Shannon called and said he had a driver that didn't show up and he would call when the truck left for my place. At 3:00 I called to see if the truck was coming or not. Shortly after my call Shannon called me back asking me if I wanted to cancel the deal on the truck. Shannon also stressed that he wanted me happy with the deal but made no effort to compensate me or explain why the truck was later than he had told me. He also said that all this was out of his control because of the driver that didn't show up. He also asked me what he could have done that he didn't have anyone to bring the truck. I told him when I was there that there seemed to be a lot of people around. I told him that not buying the truck would really put me in a bind as I had sent my New York plates back and canceled the insurance on the GMC and insured the new truck. Shannon called me back an hour later and said a driver should be there shortly that he was coming with car from Virginia and he would be bringing my truck that evening. Since the truck came from Virginia did the driver just pick up the truck on Thursday?... Makes me wonder. To make this clear YOU DON'T MAKE PROMISES YOU CAN"T MAKE GOOD ON! This was the worst new car buying process I have ever done. On top of all this the new truck was delivered with a paint chip in the hood. I emailed pictures of the paint chip and talked with the sales person that needed to talk with someone else. Its now been a week and I have heard nothing from them. read more

Just bought my second used truck from Athens Ford. I have dealt with Reggie Hudson on both purchases and have had great service finding what I was looking for. The sales and finance staff was great to work with on both occasions. They have a great group of people working there and very good inventory. I have been getting my first truck serviced through the fast lane service dept. working with Tiffany and she always take good care of the items that need to be checked. The customer waiting area is quite comfortable and has drinks available as well as Wi-Fi. read more

I am highly dissappointed with the service I received from Athens Ford's service department today. I took my Ford Edge to them and planned on using them for all of my service. What a mistake. I called this morning and explained my problem in detail and made an appointment for 4:30. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and said it wouldn't be a problem. However, when I arrived the lady up front (very short haircut) told me she would send me to someone else so they could "deal with me" because it was 4:30 and "her guys leave at 5" even though they close at 6. I kindly told her that I made an appointment for 4:30 but that if I needed to bring it back on another day I would. She then walked me to someone's office and claimed that he was the one who spoke with me on the phone and that since he told me he could do it then he could "deal with me". He was on the phone but she still sent me into his office and interrupted his phone call to tell him to handle it. He tells the person on the phone "well that was rude of her" and leaves the room. That surely made for a comfortable situation! I am a young girl so I think this woman thought she could just treat me however and get away with it just because she didn't want to be at work. I ended up leaving upset and will gladly be driving 30 extra minutes to Akins Ford for all of my service needs. read more

Terrible dealership, terrible staff and terrible service. This place has no interest in good customer service and it shows. Had to call them for 6 days to get them to take my order for new wheels because everyone claimed that there was only one person who could rake my order. Then I had to jeep calling to get the tracking number that they said that they would provide. When I finally got it, they had shipped my wheels to some address 5 hours from where I live. Address wasn't anywhere close to my address even though I gave them my address 3 times. Now my wheels are shipped to someone else, Athens Ford gas my $500, and I have nothing. Called to get some resolution and everyone pretends that the person I need to speak to isn't there. This place is a scam and the employees are a bunch of liars and thieves. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. Also, don't shop at their sister store, Athens Auto Sports. They don't have a clue and don't know anything about good customer service. Tony S helped me find a new set of tires for our minivan. I came prepared with quotes from other businesses, but they were unnecessary. He priced out similar tires and offered me a set of Michelin tires for a comparable price, and they had a higher mileage and quality rating. They were able to install the tires on the same day even though I had arrived without an appointment. I also come to Ford for oil changes and I have always been able to get in and out in under an hour with an appointment. read more

I bought a used 2005 Mustang GT from Athens Ford. During the financial phase of the transaction, the finance representative was trying to sell me a third party warranty. I specifically asked if the warranty covered the clutch. Without hesitation, the man answered "Yes". Not "I'm not sure" or "let me check", just an immediate "Yes". After purchasing the warranty and looking it over, I found that the clutch and clutch components are not covered. The financing that was set up for me was through Coastal Federal Credit Union. When I received a statement from the credit union, I found that a share draft account was set up in my name with a deposit of $23. I have no idea where this $23 came from. At no time during the financing was I told that I had to open and maintain an account with the credit union. Additionally, the credit union deducted $18 from the account and paid some kind of fee to the state of North Carolina, leaving me a balance of $5. Then, they deducted $3 for sending me a statement, leaving me a balance of $2. There was a note in the statement that said my balance was below the minimum, and if I didn't maintain the minimum balance, my account would be frozen. I am not happy with the deception and lie that accompanied this transaction. read more

On Oct. 12, 2015 we took our 2013 Ford Taurus in for a scheduled service, washer fluid was not spraying, and for a car wash. Service went okay, but we were told a washer fluid pump had to be ordered and it would take a couple of days. As of today Oct. 26, 2015 we have not heard anything from Athens Ford about the part. We have experienced in the past Athens Ford not having parts readily available and having to order them. Their free car wash was merely a run through exterior wash that barely rinsed the dirt off leaving bugs and other residue behind. Upon delivery of the car after service, we had to get our service guy to wipe the inside of the driver's side door and door jam. Service employees left grease behind and didn't even bother to clean it up. The customer should not have to babysit the service department. read more

Where do I start?! Issue started 4yrs ago after buying a car that had issues after issues. Came back to Athens Ford to get out of the car. The salesman at the time took complete advantage and played that "she's a woman" card. Didn't explain anything about negative equity and the financial mistake decision I was about to make. However, that happened and you can't change the past but Athens Ford sure isn't worried about making things right. Decided I want to get an SUV and hoping they would see the frustration of what their former salesman did and hoping to make a deal and make amends. Nope. Current sales and finacial reps are just trying to repeat history, however, I have wised up. Without diving too deep into the event- I'm not asking for the value of my car to be increased (a very taken car of '14 Fusion w/all the bells and whistles), but to give them an opportunity to "become friends" again due to the sour taste the previous sales rep did. They continued to try and play me for a fool when they were only trying to repeat history without ANY sort of hit to themselves. They can afford to lose a few bucks more so than I certainly have. Greedy is written all over them. Im not even worried about that SUV anymore, but the way they tried to treat me AGAIN, the principal of it, has forever made my mind up. Speaking to me as if I'm stupid might I add. We have purchased numerous vehicles there and have recommended friends that ended up buying there. We get all our services there etc. No more of that will occur. And let me make it clear that this is not about me not "getting my way", it's the way I was treated and spoken to. A lot can be said by correcting what happened yrs ago at my expense. Clearly, it's not that important to them. They are a numbers company. read more

Let me start off by saying I USE to be a Ford fan. Both my parents had ford cars, I had two ford trucks, and I just got the 2016 Fusion and let me say this thing has been my worst nightmare. The only thing I can say that I like about it is the style and color, the low apr, and the price was pretty cheap. Other than that this car has been a lemon. Also, I feel like they screwed me over on my trade in giving me nothing for it. :( When I first got the car the Throttle body went out in it. Didn't cost me nothing but time and ease of mind having only 1000 miles on the car. After that, the camera stop working in the car at about 15,000 miles. I asked the ford dealership to look into it because the car is so new and they said it would cost me $100 to fix. I said no and went on about my business. At 25,000 miles the back passenger window started making this loud popping noise when going down. I asked them to check this out and guess what. It would cost me $100 for them to do so. Lol great help right?? Next, at 62,000 miles I went over my warranty for free oil changes by 100 miles and my one free key and I called and told them I would because they were closed the weekend I could come and guess what?? When I got their they didn't know what I was talking and that I was out of luck. They couldn't get me a key or oil change. I had to state I would post a review before they would listen to me and research that I did make contact with them. After I set down with this one rude gentleman, I set down with another one and he finally helped me. SMH Great Saturday spent. Now, since I'm over my free oil changes I had to take my car some where else to get it done since I'm paying now anyway. I take my car their and they come back in and say Mr.Hodge you have a oil leak behind your timing cover and value cover. it's been like that a while because it's burning and dirty. You can't see it because it's hid under your skid plate. Who have been doing your oil changes??? I said FORD!!! lol I took pictures of course. So I'm pretty sure this might not be covered or it will cost me. You know $100 or more. I wonder why they haven't never said anything about it?? I know they can see it and they only do my oil changes before. The car only has 65,000 miles on it and it's just a little older than a year and a half. I bought the car with 36 miles on it. So I bought a lemon and started off with negative equity because they tricked me on my trade in and time I drove off the lot the value was cut in HALF. I wonder what's next?? I know one thing I'm done with Ford and when I get the value of the car and what I owe balanced I trading or selling it ASAP! read more

I would give this place no stars. I was honestly taken advantage of being a 23 year old female. Little does this dealership know I know a bit about cars. Tiffany Scott was in charge of my vechile getting the works which included oil change tire rotation and balance, as well as fluid rip off, a battery test and to check on the brakes. Well this is what happened after dropping my car off I was told with an hour I needed my clutch replaced, which is a part of the TRANSMISSION, my car was being worked on for a recall due to the transmission. They wouldn't replace it under the warranty even though every other dealership in the area will with no charge. (Since it's a part of the recall) Tiffany was very rude and unhelpful in every way. Trying to tell me the customer is wrong and that she pretty much speaks for everyone that is a part of Ford. Once I was able to return to pick up my car. I witnessed employees in the quicklane office bashing customers behind theirs backs and also cursing vulgarly in front of me as well as a few other customers waiting to pick up their cars. I returned home to take a look at the work I had paid for. My fluids are not topped of my tire pressure went low within 1 day of them checking them. And my transmission modular recall was never taken care of. Needless to say I would NEVER go to this location and I will NEVER EVER AGAIN BUY A FORD AGAIN EVER! I do not trust FORD any longer and either should you. I am one completely unsatisfied customer. DO NOT GO TO ATHENS FORD. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have NEVER had such bad service at another Ford dealership. I have been bringing my car for oil changes since I felt that I could trust Ford over another place that I knew nothing about. As a woman I do expect for people to maybe try to add in a few unnecessary things, but I am also not the woman who falls for it. The first few experiences were not great just due to the excessive wait time 2hours or more (for an oil change!!). However, the wait times decreased to around 1 hour which made me much happier, but as this happened so did the recommendations of things that I needed done. This last time I went again just for my oil change and to have my tired rotated and balanced. A guy came out after about 45 mins to tell me that I needed my control arms and tie rods replaced. He then explained to me what they do and how bad the situation was at this time. He and another female employee then separately spent several minutes attempting to use scare tactics such as "your tires will fall off of your car" ,"this could happen today as bad as it is", "don't make sudden stops and do not make sharp turns or else you will have a wreck", "You drive a lot so this needs to be taken care of immediately". So I made some phone calls after leaving the dealership to go to work and was able to get some recommendations for somewhere that would do it for a better price and to get a second opinion. Ford wanted me to pay them 1,200.00 plus tax to have this fixed. After 30 minutes of being at my second opinion place I was told that there was NOTHING wrong with my car!!!! Ford tried to take advantage of the fact that I was a woman and thought I would just pay this money. I will never use this place again even for something basic. I would rather take my car out of town than ever have to go here again. Be careful ever taking cars here because everything that has ever been recommended has turned out to be unnecessary for my car or has been not needed at all!!! read more
