First time eating at Athenian Grill and might be my last. One would think that a restaurant with this name would serve a wonderful Greek salad. Such was not the case here. The salad was abundant with lettuce, tomatoes, feta cheese and Greek olives, but lacked other ingredients usually associated with a Greek salad, namely, red onion, cucumbers and green peppers. Further, the peperoncino was dry and tasteless. The grilled chicken (an additional cost) was dry and not the least juicy. The pita was warm, soft and delicious however. My favorite salad of this type remains the chicken souvlaki salad at the Firehouse Greek restaurant not fair from this location. Their salad is far superior. Finally, when dining inside a restaurant such as this, it would be nice to have a real plate and silverware rather than a paper plate and one plastic fork. read more

It's roughly inexpensive compared to some other locations. I usually come here for their "Famous 4-Pack Special" (4 Burgers/4 Small Fries/ & 4 Small Drinks) with cheese (extra) for under 30.00 bucks. It did not disappoint! We ordered the kabob dinner for four, with two chicken and two beef kababs. The food was excellent, very tasty and generous portions. While the ambiance was a bit dated and could use a refresh, that did not detract from our experience. The atmosphere seems more like a fast food restaurant, but the experience was anything but. We had both the lamb and chicken, but neither of us were ecstatic. However, the burgers were a surprise hit. I went with 3 of my kids, who are the de facto family burger connoisseurs, with very individual preferences (one likes grilled onions, nothing else, two of them hate tomatoes, one hates lettuce, etc, etc). I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger for about $7 and their Lg. Fries with a custom order of feta cheese melted on top; Greek style. They really take their time here cooking up from scratch. Once my meal arrived I was stunned. Everything looked on point as far as portion and the looks of everything. The burger was stacked with well grilled meat and fresh toppings inside. I knew it was great when I had to spread my palms open for this burger. Yes indeed this was worth it. The fries were steak cut size with melted feta on top. They serve a generous portion that will keep you full for sure. Since I had it custom made, it was $4 for it rather than $2.50. This is your typical Greek/American style grill diner with a huge menu offering breakfast classics, lunch and dinner entrees. There is something fried for everyone from burgers, fries, chicken, ect. There are a few healthy options like salads, gyros, ect. I went with a bacon omlette and sourdough toast for breakfast. The hashbrowns were just okay. But, I usually don't eat a lot of potatoes/carbs to begin with. I probally should of ordered a gyro instead. To me the food was just okay. Nothing really stood out to me, exept for the bacon. The pancake deal with meats was just okay to the Mister. I take that back, everything but the pancakes were okay. Why are pancakes to difficult? Service was friendly. The place is clean.
